Elena’s journey episode 19

(At Elena’s house)
Caitlin: (To Mr Gilbert) Get out of here!!!
Elena’s Grandmother: (holds her ti-ghtly) Caitlin, Calm down. (To Mr Gilbert) You know my daughter?
Mr Gilbert: Yes
Caitlin: (she starts crying) plea-se get this demon out of here before he r@p£s me again! (She pas-ses out suddenly)
Elena’s Grandmother: (looks at Mr Gilbert) You were the one who R@p£d her?
Mr Gilbert: (embarras-sed) Yes
Elena’s Grandmother: (getting angry) Why?
Mr Gilbert: I nee-d to explain something to you.
Elena’s Grandmother: Go on.
Mr Gilbert: When I was in college, I was influenced by bad people, I bec@m£ rebellious and stubborn, I fornicated, I was into drugs…. My neighbor then was a friend of Caitlin, she always went to her house to study and I liked Caitlin when I saw her at first but she didn’t reciprocate my feelings because of who I was… So i planned to get back at her, When my neighbor wasn’t home, I broke into her house and when Caitlin c@m£, I R@p£d her violently. Luckily, My family and I traveled out of the country, At first I was happy that I got away with it but later on I bec@m£ severely disturbe-d and depressed, I was tormented by my sin for over 30 years which I truly and de-eply regret.
Elena’s Grandmother: (crying) When Caitlin c@m£ home that night and told I and her father she was R@p£d, Her father was a strict disciplinarian and didn’t want her to tarnish our family’s image so he told her to ab-ort the pregnancy but she refused, He wanted to disown her but I told him not to do it or else I’ll divorce him, But he went ahead to disown Caitlin and divorce me and he threw us out of his house, We had to learn fishing to survive, Caitlin was sinking into depression due to the stigma, neglect, shame and the trauma she faced, Eventually she bec@m£ mentally sick….That day, I CURSED you and said you’ll never be married or happy because of what you did to my daughter.
Mr Gilbert: I was depressed too, But I couldn’t tell anyone because of what I would face, I’ve never been truly happy, Before my father died, He pas-sed on his will to me as his first son but when he died, I gave them to my younger brother, Leon.
Elena’s Grandmother: Wait a minute, So this means that…..
Mr Gilbert: (shocked) Elena’s my daughter.

Orora: Helen! plea-se listen to me, I’m sorry, I was only trying to save you from harming yourself.
Helen: (From inside the room) Could you plea-se just go away and leave me alone! I trusted you and then you went behind my back to tell Dad!
Orora: Helen, I de-eply care about you even if I act like I don’t, I didn’t want anything bad to happen to you!
Helen: I SAID GO AWAY!!! (She ban-gs on the door)
Orora: (sadly) Sooner or later, You’ll realize that I had your best interest at heart.
(At the hospital)
(Vincent visits Elena and brings her pres£nts)
Vincent: I’m really sorry about what happened to you.. I really am.

Vincent: I c@m£ to give you this (He gives her the 2 large boxes of pres£nts)
Elena: (She opens it and sees chocolates, sweets, a teddy bear flowers, gift cards and many more) Thanks
Vincent: I owe you everything, You rescued me from the hands of suicide when I thought Cas-sandra was dead and I’m really grateful for that, I love you, Elena and I always will, No matter what happens.
Elena: (without showing any emotion) You should go!
Vincent: (sadly) Bye.
(He leaves her)

(Few days later)
(At the hospital, Elena’s Grandma explains everything to Elena)
Elena’s Grandmother: Elena, You have to forgive him, He truly regrets everything he did.
Elena: No! I won’t! Why would I forgive the person who put my mom in her pres£nt state and made us suffer while he was enjoying his money?
Elena’s Grandmother: Look, Elena, In this life, We are bound to make mistakes, No one is perfect, But learning from our mistakes and past experiences is what makes us better.
(Mr Gillbert enters the room)
Elena: (turns always from him in disgust) Ugh…
Mr Gilbert: Elena, I….
Elena: plea-se just go!
Elena’s Grandmother: Elena plea-se just hear him out.
Mr Gilbert: I’m de-eply sorry for abandoning your mother. I know I’m solely responsible for her condition and…
Elena: (crying) You know, I always cried ever night before I sle-pt, We lived in a house that is more or less a shanty, Our roof always leaks and sometimes c@m£ crashing down when it rains, Mosquitoes feasted on us, Rats ni-bbled at our feet every night, All because of one man! I’ve held on to so much anger and hate for a long time for the person that did this to my mom and I can’t just let go of it! And I guess ra-ping runs in your family because your brother, Mr Leon tried to r@p£ me, Twice! I’ll be leaving for Mexico soon and I don’t want to have anything to do with you!
Mr Gilbert: Elena plea-se…..
Elena: Mr Gilbert, I still have respect for you, I’ll appreciate it if you leave me alone.
Elena’s Grandmother: (To Mr Gilbert) Just go, I’ll talk to her.
(Mr Gillbert leaves)
Elena’s Grandmother: Elena, What have I told you about anger and unforgiveness?
Elena: Grandma plea-se, I’m tired of your preachings, I want to rest now (She backs her grandma and cries out her sorrows)

Mr Leon: That can’t happen, This mansion belongs to both of us.

Vincent: (shocked) Oh no!
Elena’s Grandmother: What’s wrong? Didn’t she tell you that?

(Cas-sandra saunters into the living room)
Cas-sandra: And who’s the person you’re gonna set things right with?
(Before Vincent answers, Someone knocks at the door, He opens it and sees Orora with her belongings)
Vincent: Why are you here?
Orora: Vincent plea-se, Can I stay with you? My Uncle has collected all his properties from my dad and we all have nothing left…And nowhere to go.
Vincent: Why would I help you? You and your dad deserve everything coming your way, You both haras-sed Elena for absolutely no reason!
Orora: I truly regret everything wrong I did to her, I’m truly sorry.
Vincent: Oh, So now you’re sorry, After losing your riches, You now realize your mistakes? Just get out of my house!
Cas-sandra: Yes Vincent, Don’t let her stay with us. She’s one of the good for nothing Seattleans that’s been spre-ading rumors about me being a sea witch!
(Cas-sandra and Orora angrily make eye contact with each other)
Vincent mother: (looks at Cas-sandra angrily then looks at Vincent) Vincent, To err is human and to forgive is divine, You have to forgive her, esides its too late for you to s£nd her out.
Vincent: Fine.
Vincent mother: (To Orora) You’ll have to come with us to Mexico City and apologize to Elena face to face if you truly mean it.
Orora: No problem ma’am (To Vincent) I have something of Elena’s.
Vincent: What’s that?
Orora: (She pu-lls out a diary from her bag) Its Elena’s diary, She left it behind before leaving for Mexico City.
Vincent: Just hold on to it, I’ll tell my personal as-sistant to prepare your travel do¢v-ments too.
