“Follow me”.

“Who are you?”

“Labake s£nt me”.

I was so scared, but I took the courage to follow her.

“Whatever I do or say, just be silent”

I nodded in agreement and went into the reception with her. The receptionist welcomed us and we both replied.

UNKNOWN LADY: I and my husband nee-d a room pls.

ME: Husband!!! **Shocked**

RECEPTIONIST: Normal room or executive?

UNKNOWN LADY: Normal single room.

RECEPTIONIST: **Fills in the receipt** What is the name?

UNKNOWN LADY: Mr and Miss Johnson .

ME: Johnson? **Scared**

RECEPTIONIST: Here is the key to your room. Room 56.

She paid the money and took the receipt with the key. We climbe-d upstairs to room 56 and I was shocked but I just took the courage to follow her. She opened the room, we sat down on the be-d and she made a call on her phone. All I could hear was “yes, he is here, room 56″. I asked her about the call, the change of name and the couple drama she acted at the reception but she replied that my guest will explain better. She asked if I will take anything and I said NO.

I picked my phone to call Adenike but her number was still unreachable, I began to be afraid if anything had happened to her. 6minutes later, someone knocked on the door, the unknown lady opened the door and Labake c@m£ inside. On seeing her, I bec@m£ very scared.

The unknown girl excused us and I was left in the room with Labake. She wore a blue round n£¢k t©p and a ti-ght long jeans trou-ser. She sat down beside me and I adjusted a little bit away from her as my heart was beating heavily.

LABAKE: Onihaxy, why are you running away from me, I can’t harm you my love.

ME: **uncomfortable** Yes ma!

LABAKE: Drew closer and placed her hands on my shoulder.

Don’t call me MA, I am still your baby. You see, I was suprised to see you last night after 4years, infact you nee-d to know how happy I was.

ME: **stammering** Happy? …And you… sl@pped me?

LABAKE: ***Laughed out loud*** I’m so sorry my dear, but which one would you prefer, a gun trigger to silence you for ever or a sl@p that silenced you for a while and prevented you from death?.

ME: *** chuckles***

LABAKE: Once again, I’m so sorry dear, I only did that to save your life.

ME: So why am I here? I’m scared plea-se.

LABAKE: Scared of what?

ME: Of everything. I don’t know what you want from me, I don’t un-derstand the parcel issue and I don’t un-derstand the whole drama that happened today.

LABAKE: ***laughed again****. You see, let me start from today’s scenerio.
My team knows and recognises you and if they see you and I together, you will be tagged a threat and intruder and the bad news is that you will be Killed. If our rival team also sight you and I together, you are not safe also and you might be killed. All I did today was to save your life once again.

ME: **shocked and amazed****. Who are you? Who is your team? Who is the rival team? And why are you all after me? And why are you into robbery?.

LABAKE: **patted me on my shoulder** My love, I will give you detailed explanations later but the most important thing right now is the parcel and I knew quite alright that the parcel is with you. Baby pls tell me, where did you keep it?.

*************
Months after months, Labake and I were getting along. We did have quarrels most times due to the train of guys flocking around her. I would always complain about it and she would always yell at me saying “aren’t you supposed to be happy that your girl is so pretty to the extent that guys flock around her?” I tried to adapt and adjust to the new trend as she promised and as-sured me that nothing on earth will make her to st©p loving me. We continued the affair till the end of our 200level.

First semester 300level, Labake’s taste increa-sed. She now seemed to be more expensive. More demands were coming in from her. She changed her cream to a higher priced cream, she wanted to use latest designers, she wanted to spice up her room and so many more. Since I loved her so much and she was my first love and only love, I had no choice than to adapt to the new demands.

I lied to my parents, doubled my school fees, framed up hand-outs and materials all because I wanted to plea-se her.

Before mid semester, I had emptied my account. I couldn’t buy anything for myself again but rather buy cloths, shoes and make ups for her just to plea-se her and make her look good. I was having the kind of mindset that “if I can’t plea-se my girl and ensured she looked good, other guys out there may use the same nee-ds to snatch her away from me. My greatest fear was loosing her because I so much loved her.

First semester 400level, she bec@m£ something else. She wanted phones every 5months, she told me she wanted a l@pt©p, the demands were super high that I couldn’t bear anymore.

Infact, my parents were in debts due to my excessive manipulation of money from them in the quest of plea-sing her.

I told my family that I would be nee-ding 80k for my project that would cost me less than 20k in real life. Yet, Labake was seeming to become “un-plea-seable” with the excessive demands.

When I couldn’t bear it anymore, I took the courage and faced her to tell her that I was getting uncomfortable with her demands.

ME: Labake, plea-se bear with me, I don’t have much on me this days to meet your demands.

LABAKE: It’s ok dear, you can keep your money, I will sort out things on my own.

ME : ***Raised eye brow*** What do you mean?

LABAKE: It’s not as if I don’t have other means. There are men who always offer me money with no strings attached but I always turn down their offers telling them that my fiance is capable of plea-sing me financially.

ME: ***felt sad and broke-hearted*** So what are you insinuating now?

LABAKE: Nothing. I will be collecting money and gifts from anyone who offers me so that I won’t be bothering you again.

Before I knew it, Labake started picking strange calls from different men as weeks go by. She put pas-sword on her phone and restricted me from knowing her movements. Most times, I would hear from her neighbours that a car is packed infront of her house and she was always seen in the car with a man.

Before the end of first semester, Labake and I started having problems and misun-derstandings.

***********
ME: Labake, see! Parcel or no parcel is not important to me also, just tell me who told you I have a parcel, what is the parcel all about, who s£nt you after me? Who are the rival team? And why are you an armed robber? When I get answers to those questions, we can now discuss about the parcel thing.

LABAKE: Onihaxy!!!, Still inquisitive just like the old times.

ME: This is not an issue of being inquisitive, I’m just scared, confused and clueless plea-se.

LABAKE: Promise me my secrets are safe with you.

ME: You ought to have known me better from the past how I have loved you and you were always safe in my arms.

My phone rang, I looked at the screen and it was Adenike. I was scared to see her call, I picked and stood up from the be-d and walk to the edge of the wall to speak so that Labake would not hear the conversation from my phone.

ME: Hello dear, why is your number unavailable since morning, you scared me.

ADENIKE: I’m fine, I had a flat battery, I just charged it 5minutes ago. I will be travelling home today, something urgent just c@m£ up at home that nee-ded my attention. I will be back on monday morning.

ME: Hope its not something serious dear?

ADENIKE: Not at all dear, I was just call to come home concerning my late dad’s properties. Meanwhile, you left something in my house yesterday, I kept it with my neighbour “sister Toyin” you can go there to get it any time.

ME: Ok dear, bye

ADENIKE: Bye.

I dropped the call and went back to the be-d. Labake looked at me with a frowned look.

LABAKE: why did you betray me?

EPISODE 04

************
On resuming second semester of our final year, I called Labake into my room to have some conversations with her.

ME: Why are you doing all these to me?

LABAKE: What have I done?

ME: You know I love you so much dear. From the day 1 of our relationsh!p, I have never cheated on you with any other girls you know.

LABAKE: Neither have I, or have you caught me in be-d with another man? **raised eyebrow**

ME: I didn’t say I have caught you with someone.

LABAKE: So what are u insinuating?.

ME: **Drew closer to her on the be-d** Baby You see, I have been trying my best to plea-se you and make you happy even at the price of my own comfort.

LABAKE: You are only doing your responsibility, so what’s the hype about?

ME: But these days I explained to you about my financial break-down but you aren’t bearing with me as if I hadn’t been trying before.

LABAKE: What do you mean by “not bearing with you?” Did I break up with you? Did I deny you in public that you weren’t my b©yfri£nd? Did I sx starve you? Give me answers plea-se. **straight face**

ME: I knew you didn’t do any of those things you mentioned. But…

LABAKE: But what oooooooooo? Answer me!!

ME: You have been hanging out with some other guys and men, you put a pas-sword on your phone which you never did before, you don’t tell me about your movements again.

LABAKE: Is that all?

ME: Those are the ones I could remember.

LABAKE: So because I hanged out with people means I’m fuccking them abi? **yelled**

ME: I didn’t say that.

LABAKE: So because I’m d@t!ngyou now, I should start throwing stones at any guy who wants to make friends with me?

ME: I didn’t say that ma.

LABAKE : So because you can’t provide for my nee-ds anymore? I should reject money offer from people who care?

ME: **sobbing**

LABAkE: Come on dear…
ME: **tears dropping**

LABAKE: **Drew closer and wiped my tears** Baby, don’t take this too far and don’t be sick because of rumours, it might result into high BP for you. I love you so much and its a fact you and I cannot deny.

ME: **sobbing continues**

LABAKE: I un-derstand and knew that you had tried a lot for me in the past, the fact that I’m still d@t!ngyou even till now that u aren’t financially boyant again should give you an as-surance that I still love you **pe-cked me**

ME: If you truly love me, why the sudden change in attitude since my financial break down?

LABAKE : Baby, I didn’t change attitude. You have known me right from start that I’m expensive and clas-sy, everyone on campus know me to be a fashion freak, and everything is courtesy of you. Now that you aren’t there to compliment it anymore, should I start wearing rags so that everyone will start laughing at you and I?

ME: **silence**

LABAKE: I told you earlier that I don’t accept money or items from people because I know my guy is capable. But this is the period I nee-d money most.

ME: What for?

LABAKE: Projects, new wears, a l@pt©p, etc. And you know quite alright that my parents are too old to afford all those things. The only thing they can provide is my school fee and that’s all.

ME: **sad face** So, what is going on now?

LABAKE: Nothing dear, I still love you, I am only using alternatives to sort out my nee-ds. Afterall, people will always glorify you without knowing these aren’t from you. You should be happy atleast that I am maintaining your praises and dignity on campus.

ME: So you mean you aren’t d@t!ngall those guys and men flocking around you?

LABAKE: Trust me Onihaxy, they want a girlfriend, and I use the avenue to exploit them. When they are fed up of wasting money without getting anything, they are the ones who will run away and avoid me at the end.

ME: But you didn’t tell me all these things earlier

LABAKE: When you wouldn’t be patient to listen to me.

ME: So you mean you never had sx with any of them?

LABAKE: I swear I didn’t. Trust me.

ME: What about the weekend travels you have been doing for the past 2 months.

LABAKE: All those ones na rumours, if I wasn’t at home in the weekend, its either I was with my friends or I travelled home.

ME: And why aren’t you informing me about the travels?

LABAKE: You might not listen or believe I wanted to travel.

ME: **took a de-ep breath**

She drew me closer, we hvgged and k!$$£d which led to a pre-intim-acy that ended with a 3 rounds of sx in missionary, canine, and reversed cowgirl positions…

***************
I dropped the call and went back to the be-d. Labake looked at me with a frowned look.

LABAKE: Why did you betray me?

ME: **Confused** How did I betray you?

LABAKE: **Scrolling throu-gh her phone** Who just called you? And you told the caller you have been trying her number since morning?

ME: It’s my girlfriend.

LaBAKE: **Placed the phone on her ear** You have a girlfriend? so you discussed me with her abi?

ME: I swear I didn’t.

LaBAKE: Excuse me… Hello shandy!… How far with the coast, any obstacle or intruder?… OK thanks… **hanged up**

**Scrolled and dial another number** Hello Dedon!.. How far with the roads and entrance?… Any alien?… OK… No yawa… Upd@t£ me anytime you notice any wrong signal… **hanged up**

**Turned back to me** No vex jaree, I just wanted to confirm if you haven’t betrayed me.

ME: ***Raised eyebrow*** Betray you as how?

LABAKE: I suspected your recent call, so I thought you wanted to set me up or arrange cops for me.

ME: So, even if you can’t trust me after our break-up, you can’t recollect the trusts you had in me when we were together?

LABAKE: I trust you baby, that’s why I could leave my team and camp to be with you here without fear. So who is that girl? Is she the rival that is nurturing my tree? **Pointing at my Joystick**

ME: **Smiled** You are not serious Labake, you never forget all this your old slangs.

Labake’s phone rang and she picked it. I couldn’t hear the caller’s voice but I heard Labake saying, “I am still at my cousin’s place, from there I will st©p at a supermarket to shop for some items before returning.”

ME: Who was that?

LABAKE: My team, I lied to them that I went to visit a cousin.

ME: **I wasn’t scared anymore. I now seemed to be comfortable with labake** Your team or your gang?

LABAKE: We call it team and not gang.

ME: Na you sabi, back to my questions. Why are you into robbery?

LABAKE: **Took a de-ep breath, stood up, sat closer to me and placed her left hand on my leg** My dear. It’s a long story.

ME: Go on…

LABAKE: Everything happened after school when I visited my friends in Abuja.

ME: Hmmmmmm, Go on!!!

LABAKE: You didn’t even ask of your phone and l@pt©p?

ME: **Smiled ** I don’t want to receive another sl@p na.

LABAKE: **sp@ñked me** You are not serious. You didn’t ask how I got your number?
ME: That’s true oooo. How did you get it?

LABAKE: When your phone was taken last night, I flashed my number with it before removing your sim card.

ME: No wonder!!

LABAKE: Anyways, this is your phone **Opened her bag and brou-ght out my blackberry**

ME: What about my l@pt©p?

LABAKE:It wasn’t in my possession and there is no way I could retrieve it for you. I will give you 50k to get another system. Are you OK with that?

ME: **nodded** It’s ok. So back to what you were saying, what happened at Abuja?

LABAKE: Hmmmmmmm. You don’t forget things?

ME: Oya jor!

LABAKE: **Re-adjusted her sitting position** After school, my friends in Abuja who were big babes asked me to come and stay with them in order for them to get a job for me in Abuja

ME: I’m listening.

LABAkE: I never knew they are into sugar daddy runs and prostitution.

ME: So you joined them in the runs?

LABAKE: Not really, I actually met a guy along the line who was very rich and wealthy. He showered me with money and material things and I fell in love with him.

ME: I’m not surprised **Smiled**

LABAKE: You are not serious… So, I later found out that he was into online fraud and he f0rç£d me into it.

ME: How?

LABAKE: He made me to act along with his white mag@s as a lady looking for a husband, so I was always ma-king the phone conversations while he does the keyboard typing.

ME: Waoh!

LABAKE: That’s it.

ME: So how did it get into robbery?

LABAKE: After sometimes, yahoo wasn’t bring much money again like before and we were getting stranded.

ME: So?

LABAKE: One of his friend introduced him into robbery.

ME: And you joined him?

LABAKE: No, not really.

ME: So how?

LABAKE: He told me about it, I declined at first, and he threatened to kill me because I might expo-se him.

ME: Interesting…

LABAKE: So I had no choice to join him in the job since I loved him so much.

ME: You loved him or his money?

LABAKE: Na you know that one ooo.

ME: **Smiled** Hmmmmm!!

LABAKE: So, that was how I joined the team.

ME: Was he among the last night gang? Sorry, team?

LABAKE : Don’t let us go to that extreme plea-se. You only asked about my story and I have said it all.

ME: Hmmmmmmmm!

LABAKE: So dear, how about the parcel? plea-se where is it?

ME: Not until you tell me about the rival team.

LABAKE: Onihaxy! You have started again ooooooo.
