CHAPTER 17
☆ YOU’RE IN DANGER ☆
“Ver_” Jade called Verna who ran away hurriedly.
“Where is she in a rush to?” He thought itching his hair then head to where he was initially going.
“I’m coming in” He said by the door after knocking twice. He then sighs and opens the door going in but was surprised not to see anyone in the room.
“Oh! Where’s she? She was here just some minutes ago” Jade thought dialling Onda’s number.
“Hey where are y_”
“Save me…” Her weak voice came silently at the other end.
“Hey…what’s wrong with you? Why is your voice…where are you?!”
“L…lab help me please…” She mutters again before the line went off.
Onda laid on the floor with the smoke overwhelming her already.
FEW MINUTES LATER.
“Onda! Onda!! Are you in there!! Onda!!” She could hear some faint voice.
“Save me…please!!” With all strength left in her she managed to shout back. The door rattled and it eventually came open.
“Onda!!” Jade shrieked on seeing her on the floor and immediately ran to her carrying her out.
“Hey! Are you okay?!” He asked worried while Onda only coughs and cry in his arms.
INFIRMARY.
Onda played with her fingers as many eyes bore holes on her.
“I’m sorry…”She mutters.
“What exactly is with you! You should have told me if all these was happening to you!!” Kim scolded.
“You promised to tell me if she bother you again…I’m really disappointed in you right now Onda”Agnes said also.
“You shouldn’t have kept quiet about this…what if something worse had happened?” Jayden chipped in.
“I really can’t believe Verna could really do this…how could she…” Jade mutters beneath his breathe.
“I’m so sorry…but I couldn’t tell you…I couldn’t…” Onda said in a breaking voice.
“I’m not gonna let her get away with this I swear! This time I’m ain’t letting her off” Kim seethe leaving but Onda quickly held her back by her hand.
She shakes her stopping her not to go while Kim furrows her brows.
“Can I talk to you guys…alone?” She looks at Kim and Agnes.
FEW MINUTES LATER.
“WHAT!!” Kim and Agnes said together.
“So you mean she had been blackmailing you?”
“And you kept this to yourself?!”
“You should have at least say something!”
“I was scared…if she leaked the video out then I might really…I might really go crazy Kim” She shakes her head with tears strolling down simultaneously.
Agnes sighs and sat beside her. She placed her palm on her shoulder while Onda look at her with teary eyes.
“It’s okay…you don’t need to be scared anymore…I’ll surely make her pay for this” Agnes said softly while she nodded.
“I’m really tired Agnes…I’m tired of everything she’s doing to me. I want to stand up for myself but…i can’t since she’s got something on me”
“Verna…im ain’t really gonna let her get away with this” Kim fist her palms.
“But first we have to get rid of the video…she may released it if we aggravate her” Agnes suggests.
“Onda…don’t worry about a thing…I’ll get the video and teach her a lesson okay?” Kim said while she nodded.
“This time…I’ll make her never…pass her boundary with you”
CLASS TWO.
Kimberly Sat watching Verna where she’s seated painting her nails.
“You can come in now” ???? she texted Agnes and almost immediately Agnes barges in charging towards Verna straight.
“You b**tch! How dare you go against me uh! You must really want to die!” She grabbed hold of Verna’s hair while she cried out in pain.
“B*tch let go right now!!” Verna gritted.
“You…are a murderer! How dare you locked up a normal human being like you up uh?! I’m really not gonna let you off today! I’m gonna kill you today!!”
The students gathered around them taking their pictures and videos as Agnes beat her up.
Kim used the opportunity to slip away Verna’s phone and went out of the classroom.
“Here” She gave it to Jade whom had been waiting for her outside the classroom.
Jade unlocked the phone for her and she thanked him before rushing to the bathroom.
Kim got into one of the stalls and went through Verna’s phone for the video.
LATER.
“Don’t worry about the video…it’s been taken care of…along with that witch” Agnes said while Onda nodded.
“Thank you Agnes…really” Onda mutters.
“But will you be okay?” She asked.
“It’s okay…I’ll probably get a detention that’s all…rest…I’ve got to go” She pats her shoulder before leaving.
“But have you seen Kim…I haven’t seen her since earlier” Jayden asked.
“She must be with Diego…those two have been inseparable these days” Jade replied.
“Really…I’ll get going too…I’ll check up on you later Onda”Jayden said leaving also.
“Are you okay?” Jade asked while she nodded.
“I’m sorry…for not showing up the other day”
“It’s okay…it was Verna right?” He asked and she nodded.
“No wonder I saw her instead. I never really knew she could be this cruel…I’m sorry”
“No…you did nothing wrong”
“Don’t worry…she has been dealt with now so I’m sure she won’t bother you again…and even if she does…Onda…” He placed his palm on hers while Onda looks at him.
“Do not…never hesitate to let me know alright?” He said looking directly at her.
Onda nodded shyly looking away.
Jade chuckles.
“Why are you laughing?” Onda asked.
“Nothing…you should rest…I’m gonna stay a while”
“But shouldn’t you be in class”
“Class can wait…don’t mind me…lie down. At least for today…I’m gonna watch you all day…think of it as my way of protecting you in my own way” He said making her chuckle.
ROOFTOP.
Kimberly Sat on the ledge watching the students on ground doing different activities.
Her eyes may be on them but her mind is actually on something else.
She had been there ever since she had deleted Onda’s video from Verna’s phone and her mood had darken since then. Why? She probably saw something else which she shouldn’t have seen. And it breaks her heart everytime she remembers and think about it.
“Hey! What are you doing there it’s dangerous!” She heard a familiar voice but ignored it.
“Kim! Get away from there!” She heard again but still pretended not to.
Jayden went to her and pulled her down from the ledge.
“I don’t know what the matter is but you’re being careless right now you know!” Jayden said clearly infuriated.
“What is it to you!” Kim glared snapping her hand away from him.
“Just leave me the hell alone and mind your own damn business!” She snapped at him facing somewhere else.
Jayden scoffs.
“Oh really! Sorry to say but you look so pathetic right now that I’m scared if I leave you alone you’re gonna do some f**king stupid things to yourself”
“Just get lost! I don’t need you to act like you care now Jayden! Just go continue doing like you’ve been for days now! Don’t talk to me and I won’t either! Stay away from me cause I don’t really wanna see you!!” She lash out to his face before marching away from there angrily.
Tears wouldn’t stop strolling down her face as she descends the stairs hurriedly. She bumped into Jade as she rushed down the stairs in tears and he was quick to catch her.
“Hey what happened? You okay?” Jade asked worried while she just cries in his arms. Jayden who was coming down also saw them and stops watching them.
CLASS TWO.
????”Hey…let’s hang out after school…I’ve got something to show you” ???? Kim’s phone buzzed as she took her seat in the class. She looks back and saw Diego smiles at her. Without returning the smile she turns to her front back not bothering to return his message either.
Just then Verna barge into the class marching angrily to her seat. Her face looks horrible as a result of the beatings she got from Agnes. She stops at Kim’s seat and glower at her before marching to her seat taking her bag.
“Verna what’s wrong with your face?” Diego who knew nothing about what happened asked but Verna ignored him leaving.
“Verna wait!” Diego ran after her while Kim watch them balling her plams.
Verna was still marching angrily through the Hall when she meet Onda who was also going to class. She stops and smirks going to her giving her a sound slap.
Onda gasped and held her cheek.
“Don’t think I’m done with you…you and your dog friends…I’m gonna crush you all” Verna glower before marching away from her.
“Verna!” Onda called and she stops.
Onda went to her then smiles.
Before Verna could say anything she dashed her two hot slaps.
“Bring it on…I’m ain’t scared of you anymore” Onda smirk before leaving her while Verna fumes where she stood.
“Just wait…I’m gonna kill you all” She seethed.
KIMBERLY’S ROOM.
Jayden entered the room just to find everything messy and scattered.
Things were also broken on the floor.
He heard some sniffing and look towards the bed only to see her burying herself in the duvet.
He moves closer to the bed and dragged the duvet from her. She pulled it back but since he was stronger, he successfully pulled it away from her. Angrily, Kim made to attack him but he was quick to catch her pulling her into his arms.
“Tell me….what happened?” He mutters while she gripped unto him tightly.

Kim blew her nose while Jayden watch her.
“How pathetic” He shakes his head while she gave him a glare.
“So…what are you gonna do next? Dump him? Reveal everything?” Jayden asked.
“Don’t know…I’m just confused” She mutters back.
“I knew right from the beginning he was such an oddball…look at this now! I’m really disappointed In you Kim! What a great taste you have uh?”
“This isn’t about my taste…honestly this is all because of you!”
“Are you blaming me now?”
“Ah whatever! I just wanna kill that jerk”
“I can help you know…I actually have some unfinished business with him”
“No…leave him to me…I’ll deal with him myself”
“So what’s your plan?”
“Forget about my plan…tell me why did you do that?”
“Do what?”
“Don’t try to wiggle your way out of this…I know you saved me from the auditorium…why did you deny it and even went as far as ignoring me?”
“You liked him. I thought…that was my way of repaying you guys…it’s true I’ve ruined your chances with him a lot of times”
“That’s unlike you…the Jayden I know would have bragged about it not let someone else take the credit. Were you on drugs?.”
“Let’s just say it’s one of my charms”
“What the heck…alright scratch that…why did you avoided me? You totally ignored me that I thought…”
“You were gonna die without me?” He joked.
“You’ve got a death wish?” She glared while he chuckles.
“Tell me this first…why were you at the auditorium alone?”
“That…i got a note saying they’ve got something to tell me and that happened. It must have been a prank. How did you know though…you came to save me?”
“That…” He looks away.
“Is something wrong?”
“Kim…i think you’re in danger”
“What?”
“And it’s all because of me”
“What?”
EASTWOOD HIGH.
“Kimberly!!!” Diego called running towards Kim who was going to class.
“Hey baby love…” He smiles opening his arms to hug her but instead Kim got hold of his arm twisting it backwards.
“Ah! Hey…what are you doing!” Diego winced while Kimberly twisted it more.
“Let go…it hurts Kim! Are you crazy!” He spat groaning in pain.
“Yeah I’m crazy! I’m crazy for falling for a jerk like you!”
“Kim!”
“How could you do that?! You’re unbelievable and disgusting…freak!” Kim spat before releasing him.
Diego massage his arms wincing at the same time as he stood up.
“Kim Kim wait!” He ran to her holding her back but instead Kim got hold of him and flip him over.
“Ahhh….” He groans on the floor squeezing his face in pain.
“If you touch me again…then I’m really gonna kill you!” She threatens before marching away to class.
“Sh*t!” Diego groans on the floor pulling himself up but just as he does that Jayden came out from a corner.
Before Diego could say jerk…Jay gave him.a punch sending him back to the floor.
He squatted before him locking his shirt.
“What a despicable fifthly scum you are uh? How could you do such a thing!”
“What the hell are you talking about?!” Diego exhales heavily.
“You don’t know…you don’t!” Jay punched him again.
“Henceforth I don’t wanna see you near Kim again…if you go near her…I’ll really kill you” He releases him and got up.
Diego clean off the little blood that had soiled his lips and scoffs.
“Whatever the matter may be…it’s between Kimberly and I…we’ll settle it out so there’s no need for you to butt in. It’s our matter not yours!” Diego spat behind him while he looks back.
“I think I might really need to kill you now” He went back to him kicking him in the stomach.
“Ahhh…”Diego groans more holding his stomach.
“You must have no shame uh? Between you? Not only are you disgusting you’re also annoying and irritating at the same time. This is my last warning…stay away from Kim…Just go f**k around with your f**king sister as you’ve been doing @sshole!” He grits leaving him while Diego went out of his senses almost immediately.
“What?” He mutters.
AMAZON’S.
Verna Sat in front of the mirror brushing her hair slowly. A smile display on her lips as she did this. She didn’t go to school cause she had been suspended for a week.
“You dare delete the video? You think you can just get away with this…” She fumes still smiling.
“Onda…Kimberly….Agnes… I’ll kill you all…I promise” She mutters looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her smile slowly turns to a wicked grin before finally ending in an evil cachination
EASTWOOD HIGH.
“Hey have you seen the pictures?”
“Huh…I did…I was really surprised”
“Wow this is shocking!”
“How could she do something like this?”
“My thoughts exactly”
“You could never tell”
“No wonder they become close at such a short period of time”
“How long do you think they’ve been doing this?”
“This is a shameful act”
“I agree…you could never judge a book by its cover”
“She doesn’t look like it…how shameful”
Different murmurs from the students as each held their phones in their hands.
“What do you think is going on?” Kim asked Onda as they walked through the Hall while Onda shrugged.
“Is the video leaked out?” Kim thought within herself.
“I thought they were just friends”
“I’ve always felt some strange vibes between them believe me”
“This is crazy…does she go around doing that?”
“She carries around an innocent face but she isn’t after all”
The murmurs continue and Kim start to feel uncomfortable now. With the fact that all eyes were on them like they’re the subject of the new matter.
“What! What is it! What’s the problem now!!” She barked at the students watching them.
One of the students came forward and gave Kim the phone showing her what has been posted on the school website.
“What…?” Kim mutters looking at the phone clearly shocked.
“What is it?” Onda asked also taking a peek at it .
She gasped loudly on seeing the picture.
The picture of her and Agnes kissing at the party the other day.
Her heart literally sank with her legs going weak immediately.
“Onda…” Kim called looking at her.
Onda looked around to find the students gathering around her now.
“No…no…” She rub her temple as ball of tears started rolling down her cheeks.
Students started pointing fingers at her…throwing abusive remarks at her also.
Amongst those eyes cursing her out, her eyes met with his…who stood among the crowd with his phone in his hands.
“No…” She shook her head at him but he only gave her that disappointed look before turning away.
“No…Jade…” She mutters her gaze becoming blurry.
“Onda…onda are you okay?” She could hear Kim’s faint voice calling unto her.
With blurry eyes, she watch Jade’s back as he leaves without turning back.
“It’s not true…it’s no….”
The students gasped loudly when she suddenly went down.
“Onda! Onda!!” Kim kept calling as she slowly slips into unconscioussness.
AMAZON’S HOUSE.
Diego barge into the house with fury written all over his face.
“Verna!! Verna! Ver_” He stopped when he spots Verna and his parents looking back at him from the dining.
“Dad….Aunt Lissa…” He called staring back at them.
“Brother….you’re back” Verna smiles waving at him while his Dad stood up.
“Hey there son…how have you been?” His Dad smiles back at him.
“Your sister told us how you’ve been taking good care of her…thank you Diego…for not disappointing us.” Verna’s Mom also said while Diego took his eyes to Verna who winks and wouldn’t stop beaming at him.
Angrily, he stood there with fisted palms.
