{ His Secret }
“I would never think such evil towards you” Sarah snapped glaring at her and Calvin.
“Just save me your lies and tell me the reason why you are here?” Calvin demanded.
“I can’t do that with her here ” Sarah replied glaring at Beth who still stood in Calvin arms.
Knowing that Sarah would make a fuss if she didn’t get her way, he turned to Beth whose hair was in disarray.
“Go in first” he said helping her to arrange her hair and she nodded in reply before heading into the mansion.
When Calvin was sure she was gone, he turned back to his sister.
“Why the hell are you here?” Calvin asked.
“What do you think. Take my bag in and let’s talk, I won’t be saying a thing out here” Sarah said strolling into the house.
Calvin let out a frustrated sigh before taking her luggage and going in with her.
He has always expected to see his sisters, infact he’s been waiting for them since he made his first billion cause after all, the inheritance they wanted solely for them selves have been used up and surely they will remember having a rich brother.
None of them ever showed up till today. Sarah must be in need of money desperately or she wouldn’t have come to him, he thought as he took her to his study.
“If it isn’t nanny Melody. Glad to see you again” Sarah greeted with out an ounce of sincerity in it.
“Glad to see you Sarah” Nanny Melody returned stiffly.
“Sarah? You might have stopped working for my parents since they are dead but that doesn’t give you the right to address me with my name. You were Miss Sarah in the past, why did that change?” Sarah said to Nanny Melody who felt like slapping her face at that particular moment.
“Nanny Mel, you can go. I will handle it from here” Calvin intercepted not wanting a fight to ensue between them.
“Okay” Nanny Melody replied moving to the door but then she stopped beside Sarah to stare.
“It’s because you are no longer the boss daughter, you are just a spoilt stupid brat. You and your three other sisters” Nanny Melody told her pointedly before leaving the room.
“Did you see that? You’ve got to fire her” Sarah complained even as Calvin shut the door.
“Am not doing that and so you better tell me what you want before I change my mind and throw you out”
“Just because you are billionaire doesn’t mean you can look down on…..”
“Start talking Sarah” Calvin firmly said which got her talking.
“I need money, I don’t have enough to fend myself. Infact I used the last dime I had to come here” She revealed.
“I thought as much. How much would it cost you to leave and never come back?” Calvin asked and she state her price which Calvin gave her the cheque.
“You must be feeling proud about this? I know you’ve often wanted to pay us back for every thing we did in the past and so rubbing this money on my face gives you some sort of satisfaction right?” She asked while Calvin nodded.
“It does. I love the fact that the little boy which you four had looked down on in the past is the one giving you money to spend now. It feels gratifying” he replied with triumph.
“I agree that we did you bad in the past but still, you’ve got to cut us some slack. Our parents wanted to leave everything to you and so…..”
“And so you bullied me and made me pay for our parents decision. I was just thirteen!” Calvin yelled at her.
“So? Some one had to pay. We were angry and you were there, we took out that anger on you and it’s all in the past now. You’ve done great for yourself while we are suffering, that should make you feel great” Sarah said.
“You are right! I feel great and so you’ve gotten your money. Get out!” He barked.
“I can’t cash this money yet and it’s night time, just let me stay here for tonight ” She suggested.
“Are you kidding me?”
“Or would you prefer If I use black mail?” She asked suddenly.
“What nonsense are you…..”
“Does she know? Does that girl from earlier know about your past? I doubt it cause if she did, she would not be close to you” Sarah said referring to his sickness.
“So either let me stay here for the night or I tell her the things you’ve kept hidden. Am sure that the feelings she have for you will be thrown out of the window once she knows” Sarah added.
Calvin slowly gave in not because of her threats but because of his privacy. He didnt like anyone knowing about his sickness.
Apart from his sister, Raymond and Nanny Melody no one else knows and he wants it that way.
He didn’t like the thought of Beth knowing of his illness, it will make him look weak in her eyes and he didn’t want that.

~ NEXT DAY ~
“That Sarah lady is just unbearable. She’s been causing chaos since last night” a maid complained just as Beth and Lily walk into the kitchen in their uniform just preparing to head out for school.
“Just bear with her, I overheard the boss and Nanny Melody saying she will be leaving today” The maid by her side replied.
“Who’s Sarah?” Lily whispered as they buttered their bread.
“Calvin’s sister” Beth replied
“Who amongst them?” Lily asked.
“Apart from the crazy one who came yesterday, is there still more?” Beth asked while Lily nodded in reply.
“According to the rumours have heard, Calvin has four older sisters and none of them were ever good to him” Lily told her which got her wondering what that good to him entail.
Just at that moment the kitchen door burst open and Sarah walked in dressed in an expensive out fit.
“And where’s the stupid maid who is meant to help me pack my stuff?” She yelled in anger.
“Am sorry ma’am. It’s just that I was occupied with some stuff and I…..” The maid stopped talking when Sarah gave her a glare which could kill.
“Why does my brother have incompetent people working for him?” She asked staring at every one else and when her gaze landed on Beth, she let out a slow smile.
“I will get to….”
“Save it! Have found some one better. Come with me” She said to Beth who reluctantly followed her.
“Should I call Calvin?” Lily mouth after her and Beth nodded in reply.
She hate the thought of being alone with a witch like her, Beth thought as they got to the spare room she had used for the night.
“Start packing my stuff” Sarah ordered which Beth complied.
Apart from living under his roof, Calvin is also paying her school fees. So this is the least she can do to thank him, she thought as she began folding Sarah’s expensive clothes into the suitcase.
“What are you to my brother?” Sarah asked even as she stood by the door way keeping an eye on Beth.
“We are just friends” Beth replied not giving her a glance.
“I doubt that. The look in your eyes and the look in his eyes tells me more” She probe further.
“There is nothing going on between us,maybe you saw some thing else” Beth replied now starring at her.
“You like him don’t you?” Sarah asked guessing and Beth made it obvious by choosing to ignore her rather than to give a reply.
“My! I never thought a girl on this planet will be able to like some one like him but you are proof that miracle does exist” she said airly which got Beth wondering what she meant.
“You might even be the one who cured him ” she added and that earned her Beth attention.
“Or am I wrong in that ?” She said again when she saw the blank expression on Beth’s face.
“You don’t know about his illness right?” She asked Beth who shook her head in return.
“And for a while I thought you were the girl who…..”
“That’s enough Sarah!” Calvin yelled suddenly which startled both of them.
“What! Am just asking her about some thing” Sarah said softly.
“You can ask me about it. Have told you to leave Beth alone” Calvin snapped at her.
“Why should I? Don’t you know that all of this is fun ” Sarah purred out with satisfaction.
Calvin turned to Beth who was still in the room watching the scene between brother and sister.
“Aren’t you late for school?” He asked her which got her starring at her watch.
“You should head to school now or you will be late” he added and when she turned to leave Sarah took hold of her hand.
“Don’t you want to know more about my brother. You can’t interested in him with out knowing his past” she said which got Beth standing still.
Beth has never been interested in knowing Calvin past but listening to the bits Sarah had mentioned has got her wanting to know more.
“I told you to leave!” Calvin snap brou-ght her out of her reverie.
“But she….”
“Just go! Go away ” he added and feeling hurt by the way he dismissed her, she left the room.
“What exactly would you gain by telling her about my past?” Calvin question got Beth stopping in her tracks.
” I told you, it will be fun for me” she replied laughing like a maniac.
“Nanny Melody is right, you are nothing but a spoilt stupid brat” Calvin said in anger and that erased the smile on her face.
“And you are nothing but a nuisance in our life! Why didn’t you just die years ago, why didn’t you die with our parents !” Sarah screamed at him.
“You all must have wanted that right?” Calvin asked.
“Yes. Did you just figure that out now, you’ve only ever been a burden to us,your existence alone have been a pain to us and that’s why we bullied you. It’s the reason why we sent you to that boarding school without ever coming for you but you had to prove that you are the good son, you had to become successful just so we will come ask you for money”
“And here I am, I came to beg for your money and so you might think yourself grand but you aren’t! Keep it in mind that no matter what you do, no matter how rich you are. You will keep on being a burden to us all!” She added in her most loudest voice.
“That doesn’t even faze me any more, just take your stuff and get out of my house before I return” Calvin told her firmly and left the room.
He stopped when he saw Beth standing by the door way and judging by her expression, she must have heard their conversation.
“Calvin I….”
“Not now Beth, please!” He added as he walk off while she stood watching him go.

~ WILMER HIGH ~
“So will you be going on the school trip?” Jenny asked Beth whose thought was still preoccupied by Calvin.
“I doubt if she can,we both don’t have the money” Lily answered having noticed her friend distraction.
“Then you won’t mind if I payed for you both” Jenny suggested.
“You don’t have to do that” Lily said trying to refuse politely.
Just at that moment, Beth got a message and when she open it, it was to see that it’s a video.

No one had to tell her that the message was from Sarah and immediately she played the video only to see a kid of about thirteen suffocating while the female around him kept torturing him by touching him.
“See! He’s going to faint!” Some one said in the video.
“How can a guy be allergic to girls” another female said as they kept touching him.
As soon as the video got to an end, Beth excused her self leaving the cafeteria and heading to clas-swhere she took her things.
She manage to leave the school with out a problem and got a taxi which took her back to Calvin’s home.
“Do you know where the boss is?” She asked one of the maid she met on the way.
“I don’t know” the maid replied.
Beth went to his room and also to his study but there was no sign of him.
His car was still at the garage which made it clear to her that he’s still at home.
She went to places where she knew he might be in the house but there was still no sign of him.
She was walking past the garden feeling defeated when she heard his voice.
Slowly she made her way to the garden and saw him seated on the gra-ssy floor crying with his face in his hands.
Seeing him that way pulled at her heart, it made her sad and got her teary too.
He must have heard her approach because he looked up and quickly wipe off his tears.
“What are you….” He didn’t get to complete his sentence because she knelt in front of him and pulled him into her arms.
“I know, I know every thing” she muttered even as her tears poured out.
“So just lean on me and cry it all out” she added even as she felt him wrap his arms around her, crying out his pain.
