I got scared as i hastily bent into the stream,too late she saw me.
no where to hide,
aaaah death you finally remembered me today; what did I ever to you this is not fair ooooo.
I can’t really breath well un-der un-der the water that i bent into,
I stood up and hurriedly shift to ngozi,I pinched her and she shut me a glare.
“are you really stupid?” she asked.
“am sorry,you can’t just un-derstand like I do” I said as I looked down, I really can’t look into onome’s mean face…..
“what’s there to un-derstand?.
Just pretend as if she does not even exist,she sold you for crying out loud and she has no right over you”.
ngozi said not caring if onome was listening or not.
I nodded in agreement.
but the more i tried not to look into her face,the more I felt h0t in the inside,I felt like the ground should open up and swallow me.
Onome cleared her throat.
I picked one of ngozi’s cloth and used it to cover my face,I swallowed into nothing in p@rticular.
Ngozi collected the cloth.

I smiled as i cleared my throat.

i tapped my feet on the floor,
nkem regained himself like that.He has been staring at me for so long without saying anything;was he lost?
“sir,what’s happening… you have been staring at me without saying anything,did you call me here for staring” I said.
He took hisl-ips in and slam his forehead.
I got confused like did he forget what he wanted to say.
“can I go?”,I asked.
“Adeife” he called my name.
“sirrrr??” I answered.

he paused when he heard approaching footsteps.
I didn’t wait,I ran.
Finally i got to the maids quarter, I changed my we-t cloth into something more comfortable. Ngozi did well in we-tting me with water.
I sighed when i saw ngozi on my be-d. how did she get in; so she will spend the night with me.I layed quietly beside her and look the sky throu-gh the window, she was also staring at the window.
“if you have a wish,what will you ask for?” she asked.
I smiled.”my mother of course.I would love to know if she is dead or alive,at least i should know if there is hope to believe” I said.
she smiled and hvgged me next she kept her legs on mine.
“crazy” I said.
I smiled perfunctorily and bashed my lashes.
