đșCHAPTER 2đ€°
âif not that you both doesnât look like liars to me, I would have said this is a movie or a storyâ Halen stated as she put on a thoughtful look. âbut do you think that your siblings has a hand in it?â she asked.
****************
âwe are not sure yet, but we suspect soâ Andra managed to say.
âbut what sort of a father could throw his own child to the streets just because of some silly mistakeâ Mr. Alfred asked.
âyou call this mistake, the innocent children were set upâ Halen argued.
âbut why did you choose to come to Baritana of all the states, cities and countries you could have relocated to?â Mr. Alfred asked.
âitâs ehhâŠ.â I tired to speak but Andra cut me off.
âmy mum tricked us, she sÂŁnt us hereâ she fired with a calm voice but I could s-en-se the anger and the venom in her soul from which she spoke.
âAndi Iâve told you, maybe your mother doesnât know about this place as much as you think she does.â I tried to explain to her but she went wild instead, she hit her fist on the table and sprang up.
âdonât tell me that Alex, her friend is a native, her college friend Alex and she must have probably visited here once or twice, you canât tell me she doesnât know about the worst and most popular law of this God damned city, that woman sÂŁnt me here to suffer and to think I trusted her makes me wanna wish her a very painful deathâŠâ she barked and stumped out, I stood up to go after her but Halen st©pped me.
âlet her be, she nee-ds to be alone, to clear her head a littleâ she advised, I had to sit back down but not without being worried of what she might be going throu-gh.
âwell this is one complicated issueâ Mr. Alfred commented and stood up, he took a long sip from his coffee mug and turned to me. âwell see you at lunch, I gotta go for a rideâ
âlunch, you are not even sure if we are staying here till lunchâ I muttere.
âoh come on, itâs not as if you are in a hurryâ he patted my back and walked out, I watched him ma-king his old age footstep look younger, he walked halfway and turned back to me. âI have a feeling you gonâ be staying for a whileâ he stated, I had no other option than to chuckle when I un-derstood his point.
I nodded a âthank youâ at him, he pla-yfully bowed a little, he walked on and never turned back until he was out of sight.
âso are you guys the only ones in this neighborhoodâ I asked Halen as I helped her pack up the plate into the old but still strong kitchen.
âno, you and your girlfriend are here nowâ she replied and I laughed.
âthanksâ
She turned to me. âfor whatâ
âfor everything, your help, the breakfast and for inviting us to stay overâ
âinviting you? Iâm commanding you to stay over, Iâm not gonna allow you take that princess out of here to be walking on h0t and wicked sun with that little princess in her stomachâ she stated and picked up a washed plate, she picked up a clean rag and started polishing the plate.
I chuckled. âyou canât be too sure if itâs gonna be a girl.â I tea-sed and started washing more plates.
âhey young man, donât argue with me on that, itâs gonna be a girl, if you say itâs gonna be a boy one more time, Iâm gonna shove this rag into your mouth and make sure it hits bottom.â
âbut I never said Itâs a boy, I only said how sure are you that itâs gonna beâŠ.â
âZi-p..â she made a gesture with her mouth sealing herl-ips.
âbut I was just saying thatâŠ.â
âZi-p itâŠâ she did it again and I laughed.
âfine, I wonât speak againâ
âyou better notâ
âyou guys didnât tell me you were secret grandmother and grandsonâ I heard Andraâs voice, I turned around and saw her leaning on the door, she looked angelic, âis the morning sickness section overâ
âyesâ I heard the both of them reply in unison as they stared at me.
âI thought out loud?â I asked them in embarras-sment.
âyes you didâ Andra answered while Halen chuckled.
âwow, I love this painting on the wallâ andra pointed at an old painting hung upside down I think, cause the of the queen in the picture was downward while her legs are upward.
Weird.
âwhy is it hung upside downâ I asked.
âitâs not upside downâ they both replied.
I stared at them in confusion, am I the only one with good eyes here, that painting is literally upside down.
âhow do you mean, canât you see the legs facing up and her head facing downâ I asked them.
âwhat legs..â Halen asked me.
âand what headâ Andra chuckled out.
âAlex this is a landscape painting and not a life paintingâ she added.
âwhat are you talking about, isnât that a queen in that painting?â I asked but the two women laughed their hearts out.
âoh my God Alex, I thought I was the pregnant one hereâ Andra asked and Halen began another round of laughter.
âI see what you did thereâ she said to Andra and they continued their laughter.
âyou guys come on, donât be like that, tell me, what am I missing hereâ I pleaded with them.
âAlex just wash your eyes with enough water and look at the painting closely, st©p talking like a pregnant womanâ Andra stated.
âI looked at the painting closely, I walked closer to it and peered at it, I turned back to them and shrugged. âIâm still seeing a queen whoâs upside downâ
Andra palmed her face and dragged me out from the wall side.
âthat..â she pointed at the painting. âis a landscape drawing, more like a map, so not close to being a human beingâ she explained.
âyea whateverâ I replied and she hit my arm.
âouch.â
âthatâs for being blindâ
She walked to the couch and sat down, I walked up behind her and threw my hands on her shoulders and squee-zed them in mas-sage, she m0@n ed absÂŁnt mindedly and I smiled as a lot of nas-ty stuff ran throu-gh my mind, gush I have a dirty mind đđ.
“A glas-s of milk will help in calming u the more” I c@mÂŁ back to my s-en-ses when I heard Halen speaking to Andra, she gave her a glas-s of milk, Andra took a long sip of it and dropped the almost finished glas-s of milk on the table.
“That was refreshing..” She smiled broadly. “I feel like a princess right now” she stated and we laughed.
She looked stronger now, thank God.
“I’ll fix a bath for you two” Halen said and walked towards a slightly dim pas-sage.
“God they are so nice” Andra said as she relaxed back on the couch and closed her eyes. “And your hands are definitely doing magic on me” she giggled shyly and I laughed.
“I’m so happy that you are OK” I replied and she tapped my hand.
“Dude I’ll reply you when I’m back from wonderland”
I couldn’t hold the laughter and neither could she, we both laughed our hearts out.
“OK, who’s gonna go first” we looked up when we heard Mrs. Wesley asking.
“Andra you should go first” I urged her, she shrugged, stood up and went with Halen to the bathroom.
I sighed and sat down on the dil@pid@t!ngcouch.
I wonder how long they’ve lived here.
“As long as we’ve been married” I heard Alfred reply as he walked in.
“Why the hell do I keep thinking aloud” I muttered.
“Don’t know kid, maybe you and your thought dep@rtment has a score to settle” he stated and I laughed, he chuckled a little and sat opposite me.
“You good” he asked and I nodded.
“You know, you are like my grandson”
“You have a grandson” I asked him.
“Sure I do, lives in Oklahoma with his maternal uncle”
“Oh, what about his parents” I asked.
“His father Died three years ago in Afghanistan, he was a soldier, He’s boy just got into sÂŁnior high school then” he stated.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry” I could see the pain in his eyes even though he was trying to hide it, he stood up and walked to the nearly empty bar, he picked a bottle of whiskey and a glas-s, poured a small quantity in the glas-s and di-pped a little from it, he dropped his other hand on the big screen old TV, the old boy is a typical cowboy.
“If he had listened to me then and not go back, he wouldn’t have….” I heard Halen speak from behind but she didn’t finish her statement, I turned and saw her holding Andra who was covering herself with a blanket, her curly brown hair was we-t and Sprawled down to her shoulder, cutie.
That was quic-k.
“I’m so sorry for your loss” she said to Halen.
“Nah, it’s been three years”
“What about his wife” I asked them.
“She got married two months ago” Halen replied.
“She has tried, mourning a man who was ba-rely home for three years, she really tried” Mr. Wesley added.
“Come on, we’ve bored you adorables enough with our sad story, Alex come tuck Andra to be-d and then go have your bath” Halen urged.
I sprang up and took Andra from her.
“Upstairs, the 2nd room by the left wing” she smiled at us.
I nodded and took Andra to the room, I gently placed her on the be-d and covered her with the blanket. I smiled at her and she smiled back.
I made to stand up but she dragged me down.
“What’s wrong” I whispered to her.
“I nee-d you to mas-sage my w@!st” she stated with a sÂŁdûçt!vesmile.
I stared at her in awe “Andraaaa…” I called out.
She bit her bottoml-ips and that got my head spinning.
“Pregnancy hor-mones I guess” she breathed out.
“Truth?” I win-ked at her.
“Nope” she whispered and drew my collar to her face until ourl-ips t©uçhed and she gave me a we-t pas-sionate k!ssthat I don’t think I’ll ever forget in a thousand years.
When we pu-ll-ed away from the k!ss, I didn’t nee-d to be told it was actually pregnancy hor-mones but she didn’t know.
Crazy, stupid hor-mones.
She smiled at me and bit herl-ips again, she turned to the other side and Took a de-ep breath as she closed her eyes, and off she went, into the unknown wonderland.
I watched her for a few more minutes to figure out how I got the strength to pu-ll away from that k!ss, it definitely drained all my strength, cause I can’t literally move right now.
“Andra did you jazz me” I stupidly whispered to slee-ping Andra.
I sighed de-eply and with all my wits I stood up and walked out to go have a bath.
“This isn’t over Andra” I heard myself muter as i walked into the neat bathroom Halen showed me.
“There’s soap is in the medicine cabinet” I heard her say but her voice sounded so distant, I don’t think I can even hear anything else, thank you so much Andra đ

âšANDRA’S POVđ€°
I slowly opened my eyes and surprisingly no over shining sunlight made me shut it and that was when I realized it was alre-ady nightfall, the only light that illuminated the room was the two desk lamps that sat tiredly on the re-ading desk.
I heard a switch fl!pon and the ceiling bulb illuminated the entire corner of the room, including Alex’s image which was standing by the door, he was definitely the one that switched on the light cause his hand was still on the light switch.
I suddenly remembered how I k!$$ÂŁd him that mid-morning, I covered my face in embarras-sment, and jeez I told him it wasn’t pregnancy hor-mones, why will I do that, it definitely is, ‘is it?’ I heard my mind asking. bit-ch shut the hell up, of course it is.
I heard his foot step walking towards the be-d.
“We have scores to settle” I heard him say lightly as he sat on the be-d.
“I’m sorry” I apologized, he chuckled and didn’t speak.
Then I felt his cold strong hands on my, he pu-ll-ed my hands away from my face, our eyes met, he looked surprised.
“Why do you look surprised, did I change in anyway” I asked him.
“You’ve been changing everyday but that’s not the point” he replied.
“So what is the point” I asked and absÂŁnt mindedly bit my bottoml-ip, he shut his eyes for a while, then opened it.
He stared down at me intensely and I began to feel weird, like I wanted him to t©uçh me in ways I’ve never been t©uçhed, I felt like roaming my f!nger on his pink we-t deliciousl-ips. It’s pregnancy hor-mones, don’t tell me otherwise bit-ch đ
“I saw it, or rather her or should I say you” he stated bringing me out of my fantasy.
“Huh?” I asked him, I was literally taken aback by what he said.
“I saw the girl in an amour, but it was you” he stated and I sat up immediately in excitement.
Finally, he won’t think I’m crazy again.
