Writer’s POV

As the sun set, the room was bathed in the orange glow of the evening light. They were both fast asleep, their slow breathing the only sound in the quiet hospital room. But then, the sound of the door sliding open broke the silence.Wealth’s eyes fluttered open and he turned to see who was coming in.

“Mom!” he called, but his eyes widened as he saw the people behind her.

“Dad?” Madelyn Called, a note of disbelief in her voice and the four of them rushed to her side.

“It’s you, isn’t it? Delyn?” Sydney asked, her voice trembling with emotion. She was afraid to hope, but it was impossible not to.
Madelyn just nodded, tears streaming down her face.

“It’s me, Sydney,” Madelyn said, her voice quivering with emotion. “I know this is hard to believe, and there’s a lot to explain. But please, trust me – I’ll tell you everything. I’m so sorry.”
She looked at them with pleading eyes, hoping they would believe her.

“You faked your dÂŁ@th?” Mr. Connor asked, his voice cracking with emotion. “You put us all through so much pain. How could you do that?”
“No, Dad. That’s not what happened. I’ll explain everything, I promise. Just please, let me tell you the whole story.” She said,shaking her head, her eyes wide with sincerity.
Mr. Connor’s face was a mix of anger, sadness, and confusion. But after a moment, he pulled her into a tight hug, tears streaming down his face.

“I missed you so much, too,” he said, his voice thick with emotion.

“We all missed you, Madelyn,” Anna said, her own eyes filling with tears. “We’re just glad you’re okay.”

Madelyn gave a small smile through her tears. “Thank you. I’m so sorry for everything I put you all through. They stayed like that for a moment, tears flowing freely. But then Anna spoke up.

“ That’s enough dad, we also want to hug her” she said and they chuckled before disengaging from it.

“I’m sorry,” Anna said, her hands clasped together in front of her. “I’m sorry for all the disrespect and all the pain I caused you. I’m so sorry.”

“Come here, honey,Let’s hug it out.”Madelyn said, her arms outstretched and she ran into her embrace, and as soon as she did, she began to sob uncontrollably. Madelyn held her close, whispering words of comfort and love into her ear.
“I love you, Annalisa,” she said.
“ I love you too” Anna muttered

After a few minutes, they finally broke apart and she look up at Ryan, who was trying to hide his emotions, but she could see the turmoil in his eyes.
“It’s okay to let it out,” she said, a small smile on her face and he immediately lock in her embrace.

“I missed you so much,” he said, his voice breaking. “I thought I’d never see you again.”

“I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere anymore,” Madelyn said, her arms still around him. “I love you, Ryan.”
He hugged her tighter, his head buried in her shoulder. “I love you too,” he said.

Ryan disengaged from the hug giving Jemima a chance to also express herself.

“You have no idea how much I cried and starved myself, thinking you were really gone,” Jemima said, her voice shaking with emotion. “I pretended like I was fine, but every time I saw a photo of you, I broke down.”

“I’m so sorry,” Madelyn said, tears streaming down her face. “I never wanted to hurt anyone. I I miss you so much.”
Jemima pulled her closer, hugging her tightly. “I miss you too,” she said.

“ it’s not a dream right? Cause I don’t want to ever wake up from it” Mima said crying on her shoulder

“ it’s not a dream.” Madelyn replied and kissed her cheek as they disengaged. She looked at the door and then at her dad with a questioning look.

“ Mom and Dylan’s not here?” She asked

“ no . They were both arrested” mr Connor replied and her eyes widened

“ for what?” She asked
“ I will tell you everything,but not now” mr Connor smile

Wealth couldn’t help but smile as he watched the scene unfold before him. He felt a gentle touch on his hand and turned to see Aurora looking at him.

“I’m so sorry about all of this,” Sydney said, gesturing to her bandaged head.
“I’m okay now,” Delyn said, her smile reassuring. “The doctor said they’ll take the bandages off tomorrow.”

“Is that him?” Jemima asked, her eyes fixed on Wealth.

“Umm…yeah. That’s Wealth. He’s my boyfriend,”Delyn replied, smiling at him.
“How are you feeling?” Jemima and Sydney asked in unison, moving closer to him.
“I’m fine,” Wealth said, his voice still a little hoarse.

Mr. Connor looked at him and he immediately diverted his gaze.
“I’m sorry I lied,” he said, his eyes fixed on the wall.

“It’s okay,” Mr. Connor replied, giving him a reassuring smile. “I’m just glad you and my daughter are both okay.”
“Wealth?” Sydney said, a look of curiosity on her face. “I feel like I’ve heard that name before.”
“Have you?” Madelyn asked, her eyes shifting away from the group. She looked like she was trying to hide something.

“ Madelyn?” Sydney called side eyeing her

“ what ? Yes you’ve heard the word multiple times” Madelyn replied

“ not just the word Madelyn. Hold on…that necklace “ Sydney gasped staring at the necklace around her neck.

“It’s him! The guy at the restaurant with his sister…” Sydney trailed off, realization dawning on her face.

“Mom, I’m here!” a voice called from the door.
“Yes!” Sydney exclaimed, her eyes fixed on Sophie . “It’s them!”

“Tell me, how did you two meet?” Sydney asked, her voice full of curiosity. She leaned in closer, eager for the answer. “Did you fake your dÂŁ@th just to be with him?”

“Sydney, no!” Madelyn said, her voice urgent. “I didn’t fake my death. I’m going to tell you what happened, but not right now.”
Sydney pouted, clearly disappointed. “Fine, then how did you two……”

“ this is not the time to ask such question” Mima hit her head slightly.

They looked at each others and burst out laughing. It was a welcome relief from pain and stress. Meanwhile, Wealth and Madelyn’s eyes met across the room. He mouthed, “I love you,” and she mouthed it back.

The room was suddenly filled with chatter as everyone began introducing themselves to one another. The joy of finding someone they thought they’d never see again was palpable, and the atmosphere was light and carefree. It was like they were one big, happy family.

~~~>><<<~~~Days after "Are you okay?" Madelyn asked, her eyes searching his face for any sign of distress. "I'm fine," Wealth replied, though he looked a bit overwhelmed by the situation. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to calm himself. "Go on," Mr. Connor said, gesturing for him to continue. With trembling fingers, He slowly opened the necklace and saw a picture of a young couple holding a baby. It was unmistakably him - the baby in the picture was a perfect likeness of the young man staring at it. "Omg, you were so cute!" Madelyn said, leaning in to get a better look at the photo. Aurora couldn't help but tear up, overwhelmed by the emotion of the moment. "What's that?"Delyn asked, pointing to the small pin that was on top of the photo. "It's a pin," Wealth replied,picking it up. “ it’s not just a pin. I think this is the key to where Landon told me about” Mr. Connor exclaimed and they looked at him. “ the place I told you about” he said and wealth nodded staring at the pin or rather key. “ can we go to the company? The case is around the conner and we need to know what’s in the room” he said and mr Connor nodded in agreement. "Mom, please stop crying," Wealth said, his voice soft and comforting. He pulled her into a hug and gently patted her head. "please know that I'll always be your son, no matter what. I just need to clear everything up, to find the evidence and clear whatever it is. I need to do this for all of our safety." He held her close, feeling her body relax against him. She sniffled and wiped her eyes. "Okay, I'll be here waiting for you," Aurora said, her voice soft and hoarse. "No," Wealth said firmly. "You're coming with me. This is the first time I'll be going to a place owned by my father, and I need you there with me." Aurora nodded, her eyes brimming with emotion. "Okay," she said. "I'll just go and change into something else." With that she left to the room. Delyn’s bags were already packed in the car and she smile sadly. She really want everything to end. She couldn’t shake the feelings of disgust and sadness when she learned about what transpired between Coretta and Dylan. "Let's go," Aurora said, stepping out in a new outfit. She looked refreshed and ready. They all walked out to the car, locking the doors behind them. Sydney, her energy restored, was full of excitement and hope. "I'll see you soon," Wealth said to Owen, giving him a tight hug. "You'd better," Owen replied, a smile on his face. "I will be waiting here to hear whatever it is" "Bye Owen" Madelyn gave him a hug too before climbing into the passenger seat. One by one, they got into the car, and they were on their way. As they drove, the people couldn’t help but to question why they didn’t recognise Delyn all this while. ~~>><<>>Seoul<<>>~~~
As they entered the company, Wealth, Madelyn, Aurora, and Evan were greeted by a flurry of activity. Employees bowed to them as they passed by, whispering excitedly among themselves.
“Omg! It’s her!”
“It’s really her!”
The whispers followed them as they made their way to the top floor, where Mr. Connor’s office was located. Madelyn smiled, feeling a sense of warmth and gratitude from the people around her. It was a far cry from the reception she had received before she left.
the place had Wealth staring with amazement ,still thinking about how everything made a u turn over night.
They walked into the office and Mr. Connor closed the blinds, shutting out the world outside. They were left with just each other, staring at each other in silence.
“This place has changed a lot since your dad d!€d” Mr. Connor said, breaking the silence. “I renovated the office, but I couldn’t bring myself to touch his old office. I couldn’t bear to lose any of the memories of him and especially, the room.”
“Where is it?” Wealth asked, a knot forming in his stomach.
“ at the other side where his office was once located “ mr Connor replied
“ let’s go then” wealth said.
Without another word, they set off towards the office. As they walked through the hallway, Wealth could feel his heart rate increasing with every step.
They arrived at the office door and walked it. Mr. Connor pointed to the doorknob. “The pin is the key,” he said.
Wealth hesitated, looking at the knob with a mixture of excitement and fear. He handed the pin to Mr. Connor, who took it with a look of understanding. He inserted the pin into the keyhole and turned it, the door clicking open and pushing it slightly.
As they entered the room, they were hit with a wave of dust, causing them to cough and back away from the door.
“It’s so dusty in here!” Madelyn said, coughing into her hand.
“It’s been years, Madelyn,” Mr. Connor said, trying to catch his breath.
“I’m not sure the light switch even works,” Wealth said, pulling his phone out of his pocket and turning on the flashlight.
The light from his phone illuminated the room, revealing a layer of dust that had settled on everything inside.
“Damn !!” He coughed.
Holding their phones like torches, they walked further into the room. The first thing Wealth noticed was a table covered in dust, with a pen and paper on top of it. He walked over and carefully brushed the dust away, revealing the handwriting beneath. He took a picture of it, then carefully blew away the rest of the dust and took another photo.
The handwriting was faded and difficult to read, but he was determined to decipher it. As he studied the words, he began to make out a few of them. He read it aloud, his voice cracking with emotion.
“This is what he was talking about!” Mr. Connor exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of relief and trepidation.
Delyn walked towards a covered box in the corner of the room. She reached out to pull down the cotton cloth covering it, but as she did so, a cloud of dust erupted, causing her to cough violently.
“There are files in here,” she said, gesturing for them to come closer.
They all gathered around the box, looking down at the stack of dusty files inside.
Wealth bent down and started to turn through the files, taking his time to carefully brush away the dust. After photographing each one, he turned to the others and began to read them aloud.
His voice was steady at first, but as he read, his heart began to race. The words on the pages were filled with secrets and revelations, and he struggled to maintain his composure. He took a deep breath and kept reading.
After hours of searching, they finally had everything they needed: evidence of the conspiracy against his family, the location of his parents’ murderer, and the name of the lawyer who was holding the original document to his father’s wealth.
They walked out and sat down on the floor of the clean office room, exhausted.The room was quiet, save for the sound of their heavy breathing.
Wealth closed his eyes and clasped the necklace tightly in his hand. A sense of peace washed over him, despite the enormity of the task ahead. For the first time, he felt like there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
“How do we even find the lawyer?” Madelyn asked, breaking the silence. “And what if he’s not even alive anymore?”
They all burst out laughing at her dramatic emphasis on the word “alive.”
“We’ll find a way,” Wealth replied.
“Let’s get home and get some rest,” Mr. Connor said.
“Home?” Wealth asked, confused.
“You can stay at my house. It’s your home, too,” Mr. Connor said, reaching out to put a hand on his shoulder and he nodded, grateful for the gesture. He turned to Aurora, who gave him a reassuring smile.
The four of them stood up and headed out of the room, locking the door behind them.
