Staring at the man in front of me , my stomach clenched as I tried to suppress the panic swelling with in me ……
My mother! Why must he always bring her into our conversation? why must he always use her in threatening me?
And so you should know Jayden, I don’t make threats , I make promises that I always keep. he continued and I raised my hands in defeat , he sure knows how to get me……..
Fine! Fine! I won’t dare go against you Mr Austin. I drawled
It is Mike! he corrected , gritting his teeth and I faked a chuckle
Oh yeah! I am sure you are also ashamed of your name. I mumbled and he knitted his eyebrow

Nothing! I simply answered, bending over to pick Hazel’s hand bag and her …….where the hell is her br@? I half yelled
Over here. Mike answered , picking up the yellow br@ from the sofa as he held it for me to see
She really looked S-xy in this!
Motherfv¢ker! I cursed , dragging it from him and then turned around to leave

Restlessly, I shifted uneasily on the car seat as I waited for ha-rd in
Why is he taking so long? What are they talking about? ….. or wait! Is Mike dead? no it can’t be , ha-rd in wouldn’t be in there if he was dead..
heaving a sigh, I looked out of the window as I tried to imagine what would have happen if Mike had succeeded in ra-ping me
My life could have been messed up , I could have loose ha-rd in
And what if you have alre-ady loosed him? my subconsciousness asked
No way ,rather than that to happen, I will kill myself ………
Just then, the door to Mike’s ap@rtment opened and ha-rd in stormed out with anger clearly written on his face
I quic-kly adjusted myself as I was scared of this “angry ha-rd in”
Opening the car door, he tossed my bag along with my br@ to the back seat and then hopped in closing the door behind him…….
And without sparing me a glance , he started the car and drove off …..

The drive back to the mansion was a long and tiring one as I just sat there pla-ying with my hands nervously
ha-rd in refused to talk to me and even when I tried starting a conversation, he completely ignored me….
This is not what I expected! Is this going to be the end of us?

It was late when we got to the mansion and on honking the car horn twice , the security man opened the hvge gate …..
Driving into the compound, he parked in front, switched off the ignition ; then pu-ll-ed off his shi-t and tossed it on my l@ps
Wear this. he instructed
I looked at the shi-t and then at his ba-re che-st
what about you , will you go in like that?
Just put on the fv¢king shi-t on! he barked and i swallowed ha-rd ..
I picked up the shi-t and hurriedly wore it on t©p of my torn clothes
Good! we are good to go!
having said that , he alighted from the car and headed towards the sitting room without waiting for me….
And with tears rolling down my eyes, I got down from the car and walked slowly to the sitting room …

Entering the sitting room , I found Mrs Castillo mumbling as she paced up and down the sitting room
Seeing me , she heaved a sigh as she coll@psed onto the sofa ,tou-ching her che-st …
I rushed to her
Ma! What is wrong? I asked, staring down at her face worriedly
It is ha-rd in , his anger is back again . She answered, beating at her che-st and I exhaled de-eply in relief
Thank goodness! It is nothing serious
What happened Hazel? Did you hurt him? …… I mean ever since you both .. you know .. bec@m£ close friends, ha-rd in bec@m£ different, he even started calling me mother , he even …… she paused, breaking down in tears
I stood transfixed at the sp©t without knowing what to do
Should i console her? Should I as-sure her that all will be well? but what even happened, did ha-rd in say something mean to her? did he scold at her?
And as if re-ading my thoughts, she said
ha-rd in told me he regretted ever having me as a mother …
What! I exclaimed in shock but quic-kly composed myself
Erm ma you know that is not true , ha-rd in loves you so much, I bet he said that out of anger. I as-sured as she stared blankly at me
Obviously, she didn’t believe me….. hmmmh … how can I prove it to her? how can I? I tilted my head trying to think of what to say and yes , a good point popped up in my head
Ma! should I tell you a little secret? I asked in whispers and she sh0t me a curious look
I looked around to make sure the gossip” Rebecca” was no where in sight before letting out the little secret..

Really? She asked , as her eyes lit up and I nodded
She stared at me for a while and then gave me a mischievous smile
Oh right! Hazel it is time to close your big mouth!
It seems you two are really close or is there anything I am missing. She said as I stared at the floor, pla-ying with my hands shyly

No erm yes erm I mean No. I stuttered not knowing what to say and she smiled lightly
It is alright! You can go to your room. She instructed..
Thanks ma! I said in appreciation, taking few steps to the stairs when she asked
And why are you wearing ha-rd in’s clothes?

Pushing the door opened, I walked in to meet an empty room : and from the sound of the water running , I knew he was in the bathroom
And in a rush , I bolted the door , pu-ll-ed off the two shi-ts along with my jeans trou-sers then went over to the bathroom to Join him
I found him n-ked un-der the shower with his eyes closed as if he was meditating..
ha-rd in! I called softly
Speak! he said , without opening his eyes and I swallowed ha-rd nervously, ma-king a sound
Erm I am sorry erm I know I am wrong erm plea-se forgive me. I pleaded and as expected,there was no response from him….

he tried to move back but I held him ti-ghtly
plea-se ha-rd in don’t break me. I pleaded as tears rolled down my eyes and I heard him sigh
I quic-kly raised my head to look at him and found him staring at me …..
plea-se ha-rd in forgive me! I pleaded again and without saying anything, he wra-pped his hands ti-ghtly around me as the thick steam from the water washed away the grim of the day …….

I couldn’t just stay angry with her , I couldn’t bear to see her tears
The same tears that melted down all off the anger in me …
pu-lling out of the hvg, I stared into her cute face as I brushed off the hair stuck to her face ……

Does that mean you forgiven me? she asked picking her words and I nodded
But don’t ever go against my word again . I warned and she nodded sheepishly

Justice! I repeated as my voice quavered
Yes, but it was a waste as the murderer was a little 14 years old kid with wealthy parent , we didn’t even see his face because it was always covered and do you know why? the court was fv¢king protecting him . She half yelled as tears rolled down her eyes

On his final hearing , he was charged with Manslaughter instead of Murder , The judge changed everything and even tagged my late dad as “Careless” and at the end of it all , he was given a 15 years s£ntence….
plea-se St©p ! I pleaded but my voice c@m£ out in whispers as my head was spinning
She laughed bitterly, we lost everything and on seeing how we were unfairly treated, the father of the kid volunteered to take care of Alexia and I fees but my mom bluntly refused ………
Hazel! I called, holding her hands as she shifted her gaze to me
