The sound of the police seren occupied the venue, people were already running and gossiping among themselves.
Soon the ambulance arrived and Dominic was placed into the stretcher. Reporters kept taking pictures while the securities were trying to push them back.
★Breaking news! The president son has been outside the venue of his own engagement★
Just as fast as flash, the news has spread around the internet and everyone were on fire.
The doctors were rushing Dominic to the emergency care center and Judith was running along with the president.
“I’m sorry ma’am, you can’t come in” one of the nurses stopped the president and his wife.
“Will my son be okay?” Judith was in tears.
“You can’t come in ma’am” the doctor said and closed the door.
Judith bent on the floor and burst out in tears. President Jameson touched her shoulders but she pushed his hands off and stood up.
She slapped him on the face the next second and his eyes widened.
“This is all your fault! I warned you to leave Dominic alone but you did not listen!” She shouted.
“Dominic is my son, I have every right to discipline him” president Jameson shouted back.
“And so do I, he’s my son too and let me tell you that if anything, I mean anything happen to my son then you will hate the outcome, I’m promising you!” She glared at him.
President was still holding his cheeks as he watched her walk away. He slowly put his hands down and clenched his fist tight.
“You’re testing my patient Judith, you’d see my red eyes very soon” he muttered and his eyes went to Dominic’s ward.
His phone began ringing, he checked to see the senator calling and he picked.
“How’s your son Mr President?” Senator George asked from the other end.
“In the emergency room”
“Is Livy with him because I can’t find her?” He asked again.
“No, she’s not here” president Jameson replied and hung up.

“What’s going on? Is she not picking her calls?” Senator George looked at Octavia angrily.
“Her line is sending me to voicemail” Octavia replied and dialed Livy’s number again, placing the phone on her ears.
“I can’t reach her” she mumbled.
They were both in their living room, trying to call Livy because she suddenly disappeared after Dominic got shot.
“You’re such a shameless mother, we were supposed to get mixed up with the president’s family but you couldn’t do one simple thing, you can’t even watch over your daughter!” He complained.
“Hey don’t pin this on me, we were at the venue together and maybe you should have watch over your own daughter, urgh!” She yelled frustratedly then stormed into her room and slammed the door.
“Wherever that brat runs off too, she will come back when she needs us” he rolled his eyes and took the glass of beer that was on the table.

Gwen sighed, looking at her phone and waiting for it to beep. She was waiting for Dominic to send a signal, he was at his engagement party and she didn’t know if she should call him now or not.
The door harshly pushed open and Naomi ran in.
“Every check the news, something bad happened to Dominic!!” She shouted.
Gwen’s heart flew away.
“What?”
“He got shot” Naomi added.
Erica and Lucky took their phones immediately while Gwen dialed Dominic’s number.

She was already crying as she tried the number over and over but the same thing.
“You told me you will be fine, what’s going on?” She cried silently and kept trying his number.

Judith could see the doctors operating Dominic from the small window and tears came out of her eyes, wetting her nose mask.
“My son” she touched the glass as she listened to the beep sound of the monitor.
“I’m sorry” she cried silently.
After some hours, the nurses came out of the emergency room and Judith rushed to them.
“My son, how’s he?” She asked in tears.
“We successfully removed the bullet from his body and luckily he didn’t lost that much blood but we still have him, let’s wait till tomorrow before you see him” the doctor replied and walked away.
Judith looked at the small window again. His body was covered with lots of wires.
“I’m such a fool and sometimes I wonder why I’m doing all these” she muttered and shut her eyes tight.

A car stopped at the hospital car pack and Vicente came down with his girlfriend, Shirley who had a fruit basket in her hand.
They walked inside the hospital and went to the reception.
“Good morning, can you please direct me to the room of Dominic Jameson?” He asked politely.
The woman checked her computer before facing him again.
“Room 112, upstairs by the left” she said.
“Thank you” Shirley smiled and hugged his arms before walking away with him.
The got to the room and met Judith sleeping on the stool, her head was resting on Dominic’s bed.
“Aunt?” He called and she woke up.
Shirley dropped basket of fruits on the table while Vic moved closer to Judith.
“How’s Dominic doing?” He asked.
“The doctor said his operation went well and after some test this morning the doctor confirmed he’s doing well” Judith muttered.
“Little punk, you better open your eyes and get well soon” Vic smiled and faced Dominic who was still sleeping.
After some minutes, his finger moved and his eyes began shaking.
“I think he wants to wake up” Shirley pointed fingers at him.
Judith moved closer to him immediately and began rubbing his forehead.
“Sweetheart open your eyes, mummy’s here” she smiled at him.
Dominic’s eyes opened.
“G..we..n” he tried speaking.
“What are you telling me?” Judith asked.
“G..we..n”
“I think he’s saying Gwen” Shirley said.
“Who’s Gwen?” Judith asked.
“His girlfriend” Vic replied and Judith looked at Dominic who had closed his eyes again.
“Do you have her number?” She asked Vic.
“No but I can go to his school and ask of her” he replied and Shirley nodded.
“Please do and get her to come here, I just want my son to be happy that’s all” she muttered and cleaned her tears.

“Look I got you breakfast” Naomi entered the room with a white nylon but Gwen kept facing the window.
Her eyes were swollen.
“I’m not hungry” she muttered.
“You haven’t eaten since yesterday” Erica replied.
“How can I eat knowing that Dominic is in pain somewhere, is he even alive? I’m not hearing anything, I can’t reach him, I can’t find him, I don’t know where he is, I’m just lost” she burst out into another round of tears.
Naomi sighed and faced Erica.
“She is worse than Lucky” she muttered.
Soon Gwen’s phone began ringing and she checked immediately.
“School secretary, maybe they want to tell me about Dominic” she muttered and picked the call.
“If I’m speaking to Gwyneth Lee then head over to the secretary’s office’ the woman hung up.
“Is it Dominic?” Naomi asked.
“I don’t know, I have to go” she rushed out of the room immediately.
When Gwen got to the secretary office, she met Vic and Shirley sitting there.
“Come in Gwen, this people will love to speak to you” the secretary said and adjusted her glasses.
Gwen entered and sat on empty chair.
“Are you Gwen as in Dominic’s girlfriend?” Vic asked and Gwen spranged up immediately.
“Dominic? Do you know where he is? Is he fine, please tell me!!” She began begging like a mad person.
“Calm down girl, we are his relatives, my boyfriend is Dominic’s cousin” Shirley said.
“Is he fine? Is he okay?” Gwen asked in tears.
“He woke up this morning and was calling you name so we decided to bring you with us” Vic replied.
“I’ll go!” Gwen agreed immediately.
“Okay, come on then” Vic stood up.

The door opened and Vic stepped in with Gwen. The moment Gwen sighted Dominic laying on the bed, she rushed to him immediately.
“Bear, open your eyes I’m here” she said softly and the tears trickled down her cheeks tricked and touched his face.
His eyes slowly went open.
“Strawberry” he muttered.
“I’m here” she nodded her head repeatedly.
“Do you think we should leave?” Shirley asked and Vicente nodded.
“Aunt come on, let’s give your son and his girlfriend some personal space” Vic called.
Tears kept coming out of Judith eyes and she reluctantly left the room.
“I’m sorry” tears came out of Dominic’s eyes as Gwen caressed his face.
“It was all part of the plan, I had to do this to call off the engagement because my dad is really stubborn” he said slowly.
Gwen’s hands stopped moving from his cheeks.
“What?” Her eyes widened.
“I’m sorry” Dominic shut his eyes tight.
“All these were on purpose?” She asked again and tears fell from her eyes.
“That’s why I didn’t wanted to tell you, you wouldn’t agree with it” he muttered.
“Why would I agree with you endangering your life? What if you died!?” Gwen almost yelled.
“I won’t die, Livy’s boyfriend shot me in the place that can’t kill me, I’ll only just get hurt and it was in front of people so they’d take me to the hospital on time” Dominic replied.
“Livy’s boyfriend was behind the shooting!” Gwen stood up angrily.
“Where’s Livy?” She asked.
“They would use that opportunity to escape. I’m sorry I did all of this strawberry please don’t be mad at me” Dominic pleaded.
Gwen sat back on the chair, she didn’t know if she should cry or get angry at him or even be happy.
“I’m sorry strawberry, this would be the last time something like this will happen” Dominic pleaded.
“I don’t even know what to say” she muttered.
“Just this once darling, please” he pleaded and she moved closer to him then hugged him tight.
“Thank you” he smiled weakly before returning the hug.

Judith stepped in and met Gwen feeding Dominic some food to eat which he was receiving happily.
When Gwen noticed her, she stopped immediately.
Judith sighed and moved closer to them.
“It’s okay, I want to apologise son, I should stop your father with the way he does things sometimes” she muttered.
“Did he even come to see how I’m doing?” Dominic slowly asked.
When Judith didn’t reply, he got his answers.
“I promise to be a better mother from now on and I’ll try my best to make him a better father” she muttered.
Dominic didn’t reply and Judith left the room.
“Will you give your mother a second chance? Everyone deserves one” Gwen asked him.
“I don’t know, I mean she was not always there, dad was not always there, it’s just too hard to look away” he muttered.
“It’s always hard but it’s not too late to give her that chance. I can see it in her eyes that she really wants to change” Gwen said with a smile.
“I will try” he muttered and Gwen dropped the food before leaning to peck his lips.
“I love you” she smiled.
“Me too”.

“Yes it was nice doing business with you” president Jameson shook the business man hand when they came downstairs.
Judith was sitting on the couch and stirring the hot cup of chocolate coffee she was holding.
The man left and she sipped from the chocolate before standing up.
“Your son is doing well if you care to ask” she said and president Jameson rolled his eyes and began going upstairs
“You know the thing with me is that I’m very stupid. I have the power to destroy you long ago but because of a stupid love I kept tolerating you but not anymore!” She shouted.
President Jameson paused on the third step and turned back to look at her.
“What are you saying?” She asked.
“To tell Dominic the truth, you’re not his real father, we are not his real parents. You kidnapped just to win my parents heart to be the president and I kept keeping quiet, he’s going to know the whole truth!!” She yelled.
“Don’t you dare” he snickered.
“Watch me Jameson, just watch me!” She turned around and began leaving.
“Judith!” President Jameson yelled and brought out his gun.
He pointed it at her and pulled the trigger, shooting her up to six times. There was so much rage and anger in his eyes.
However Dominic was standing by the door, his eyes was wide open with the scene he just saw.
His father was firing his gun at his mother like a maniac.
“Mummm!!!” He screamed and began running to the scene.
