Allysia who thought she was the only one raising her hand wondered why the teacher was taking long to ask her to answer the question, until she saw Damienâs hand up too.
âWhat!â She screamed inwardly..
WellâŠhe might just want her to notice him.
She had been so thri-lled to find out he was in her clas-s, heâs got great looks that almost made her drool, she had intentionally knocked him over just to feel his broad back.
She has never seen a guy as good looking as him,she always thought George is the most good looking guy she has ever seen but Damien proved her wrong.
She had gave him a middle f!nger cause she really wanted to fu-ck him.
She couldnât believe she felt bu-tterflies in her stomach when he looked into her eyes.
Heâs attra-cted to her of course, every guy wants her.
She can have him if she wants cause sheâs so sure no one can resist her beauty, guys always fall at her feet.
But she hadnât caught him stealing glances at her like other guys do, he had concentrated on his l@pt©p. Maybe he had steal glances when she wasnât looking.
Paris and Jane had told her the girls were head over heels with him but couldnât approach him cause heâs from a freaking poor home.
And sheâs afraid that might be the only problem when he asks her out cause she doesnât want to d@tÂŁ someone from a poor home either.
The teacher sighed softly..
âI honestly donât know who to chooseâ Miss Meg said.
âOhhâ Damien said, seeing Allysiaâs hand up too.
He slowly brou-ght down his hand and Marlene wondered why he did that.
They can both answer the question.
âOkay⊠Allysia go aheadâ Miss Meg said and Allysia stood up proudly and answered the question.
The whole clas-s cl@pped and Damien couldnât help but feel kinda bad, they never cl@p for him whenever he answers a question.
He shouldnât be bothered by it though,itâs obvious most of the students do not want to as-sociate with him because his last name doesnât ring a bell.
How petty.
He must admit heâs impressed with Allysia, sheâs not only beautiful, sheâs intelligent too.
âWell⊠Allysia, youâre correct but you didnât give me a detailed answer, Iâd like Damien to try tooâ Miss Meg said.
âWhat do you mean my answer wasnât detailed?â Allysia asked the teacher.
âYou only made reference to it, you didnât go into details. That was not a satisfactory answer, though you tried. Iâd like Damien to make attempt tooâ Mrs Meg said and even the blind could see Allysia was fuming.
Damien stood on his feet and answered the question,he gave the best explanation he could and with the smile on Miss Megâs face, you could see sheâs impressed.
âThatâs it! Exactly the detail i wantâ Mrs Meg said and Damien was about sitting when he heard someone cl@p.
The whole clas-s turned and Damien lifted up his head too.
It was Marlene.
He stared at her in surprise so as the other students.
They all knew Damien did his best with the answer but the fact that heâs not in their calibre made it feel horrific to cl@p for him.
But Marlene had.
âI bet sheâs as poor as he isâ A student whispered to the other.
âOf course, poor people appreciate their kindâ Another student responded and they laughed.
âThank youâ Damien smiled, de-eply t©uçhed.
Marlene nodded and faced her l@pt©p.
She hadnât cl@pped for Damien out of pity, his answer was eloquent and impressive and she learnt one or two things from it,it made her un-derstand the subject better.
Although his answers have always being impressive and she has never cl@pped for him, what prompted her was that she could see how his face was when Allysia was cl@pped for.
She hadnât cl@pped for Allysia cause she could see her answer wasnât detailed like Mrs Meg had said, she doesnât even cl@p for anyone regardless of who they are, sheâs not used to it. Damien had been the first person she would cl@p for in Ivy Royals.
She feels the students are just being unfair to him because of his status and thatâs what keeps drawing her to him.
Unlike other students,he always tries to talk to her even if she mostly ignore him.
He doesnât mock her for hiding her last name nor ignore her and he has stood up for her once.
His looks are killer! And she must admit she felt her heart pump the moment she bu-mped into him.
He has the most beautiful set of eyes she has ever seen and she always steal glances at him when heâs not looking.
She freaking likes it when he talks to her and sometimes she was always too stunned and nervous to reply him.
She looks forward to seeing him every morning and whenever he walks into the clas-s, sheâll cover her smile with a fake frown.
She
has always liked her life without friends but now she wants to have a friend.
âOkay then, letâs continue the clas-sâ Miss Meg said.
đ€LUNCH BREAKđ€
Damien sat back in clas-s determined to find out why Marlene doesnât go to the cafeteria.
She has never visited the cafeteria.
Students left the clas-s one after the other until they were both alone.
Minutes pas-sed in silence until Marlene stood up and walked to her locker.
She unlocked it and carried her meal from her backpack.
She had waited for Damien to leave but seems heâs not leaving anytime soon cause heâs obviously busy with his l@pt©p, she couldnât wait anymore, sheâs starving.
She
returned to her seat with her meal and a bottle of water, she started eating.
Damien who had pretended to be working on his l@pt©p turned to her.
âEating in the clas-sroom is prohibitedâ He said and Marlene nodded.
âWhy donât you ever go the cafeteria?â He asked, thinking she was fearless, any teacher could come in and have her punished for it but again she ignored him.
âAnyone could come in andâŠhave you punishedâ Damien proceeded.
âThe school proprietor wouldnât say a word if he sees me right nowâ Marlene said, twisting the cap of the water.
âReally?â Damien asked, wondering what that could meanâŠohh.
âYou have a phobia for eating in the same room with a lot of people?â Damien asked thoughtfully.
âYesâ Marlene lied.
She is Royal and her family tradition forbids her to eat with so many people.
âOhh..now i knowâ Damien said..
âAnd thanks for cl@pping earlier,it made me feel so happyâ Damien smiled.
âIs that why you didnât go to the cafeteria?â Marlene asked.
âNot really, i wanted to find out why you donât always visit the cafeteria tooâ Damien said.
âOhhâ Marlene almost smiled, but she quic-kly st©pped herself.
âBy the wayâŠwhy did you dropped your hand earlier? You could have waited for the teacher to choose who to answer the questionâ Marlene said.
âWellâŠi felt i should give someone else the chance to answer the questionâ Damien said.
âShe could have done the same too, i heard sheâs very intelligent and answers questions in clas-s all the time, she could have given you the chance tooâ
âSo, you do listen to gossipâ Damien tea-sed.
âNo, i overheard one of the students say itâ
âI did the best thing by dropping my handâŠas a gentlemanâ Damien said, proud of himself.
âIâm glad you donât ignore me anymoreâ Damien said.
âI did.. recentlyâ Marlene said.
âItâs not as much as you do before⊠though i un-derstand youâre a reserved person and you really appreciate being on your ownâ Damien said and for once Marlene looked at his eyes directly.
âThank youâ She said, t©uçhed.
So many people leave her and even hurl abusive words at her after she has ignored them for some time but Damien never left her, he un-derstands her and never st©pped talking to her.
She canât continue ignoring him, itâs not fair .
âIâm glad you un-derstand me and Iâm sorry for the times Iâve ignored youâ Marlene said and Damien thought he was dreaming.
He blinked like a nervous puppy and Marlene almost laughed.
âIâm..Iâm
surprisedâ He finally said.
âYou should beâ Marlene shrugged.
âBut Iâm so glad i finally got you to st©p ignoring me, talking to you is greatâ
âIts not my thing to talk to people or make friends, iâve been like this for so longâ Marlene said.
âOhh..you must have been lonelyâ
âNo, i have my brother and cousin to always talk to and i have a dog too. His nameâs Besâ Marlene smiled and she quic-kly st©pped.
âWowâ Damien said, obviously smitten.
She has a beautiful smile and heâd pay his last penny to see her smile again.
Marlene sighed, thinking she had said too much.
Sheâs not always this open to people but she had told Damien without even thinking.
âI have a sister tooâ Damien smiled.
âReally?â Marlene asked, knowing he must love his sister so much with the way his face had lit up when he mentioned her.
âYes, her name is Irene, sheâs my world, i love her so much and Iâll gladly do anything for her and do you know what?â Damien asked.
âWhat?â Marlene asked interestingly.
âShe packs her hair, just the way you doâ
âWowâ Marlene said,intrigued.
She rarely see females style their hair the same way she does.
She continued eating and then glanced at Damien.
âDo you care for some?â She asked.
âNo, thank you. Iâll just go get pasta from the cafeteriaâ Damien said, getting on his feet.
Heâs starving alre-ady though he doesnât want to st©p talking to Marlene.
Sheâs so interesting to talk to.
âYou should go quic-kly before lunch break is overâ Marlene said.
âYeahâ Damien said, hurrying to the door with smiles.
If he had turned,he would have seen Marlene smile too.
At that moment, they both knew a new chapter had opened in their lives.
đ„
âWhy are you looking at the door?â Jane asked Allysia.
She was sitting with Jane and Paris in the cafeteria and she was kinda wondering when Damien would appear, as much as she hates to admit it..she has been waiting for him to walk in.
He walked in just then and Allysia blew out a breath.
Jane and Paris turned,as other girls did.
Itâs obvious most of the girls find Damien attrac-tive,their gazes followed him down to where he dished some pasta.
âI fell his looks are just wasted cause heâs so poor. Chandler should have such looks instead,heâs richâ Jane rolled his eyes.
âAt this point,i donât think i care about his status anymore,heâs so good looking and freaking intelligent. I think i love himâ Paris said almost breathlessly and Allysia glared at her.
âWhat do you mean heâs so intelligent? Is anyone more intelligent than i am in this school?â Allysia asked, watching Damien from the corner of her eyes.
He was holding a plate of steaming pasta as he walked towards an empty table but before he got there, Anna and Danielle invited him to their table.
He went to sit with them.
âAs much as i hate to admit it, Damien is so intelligent. I donât even know whoâs more intelligent between you twoâ Jane sighed and Allysia felt like hitting her head with a fork.
âAnd what do you mean by you love him?â Allysia asked Paris, b!tt!g her upperl-ip.
âYes i doâ Paris confirmed, staring at Damien.
âYou should better back offâŠâ Allysia said.
âHeâs mineâ She added inwardly and gro-an ed when she saw Chandler approaching her with roses.
âšâšâš
âAllysiaâ Nola called.
âJust let me be. Mum!â Allysia yelled, dropping her backpack on the stairs and walking angrily to her room.
Nola sighed as she picked up the backpack wondering who must have pissed her off.

Allysiaâ Nola called.
âJust let me be. Mum!â Allysia yelled, dropping her backpack on the stairs and walking angrily to her room.
Nola sighed as she picked up the backpack wondering who must have pissed her off.
***
Marlene grinned as Bes barked at her in greetings.
Two maids collected her backpack as she pla-yed with Bes.
He li-cked her face and she giggled.
âLetâs go inâ She said to him and he trailed behind her.
Workers bowed as she walked past them and she nodded in greeting.
âClaire, can i have a glas-s cu-p of jui-ce plea-seâ Marlene said to Claire as she sat on the couch.
âOkay, your highnessâ Claire bowed and hurried into the kitchen.
Claire is her personal maid and theyâre both quite close.
She un-derstands her more than any of the workers and she always knows what to do at all times.
She has been amazing and diligent and honest.
Marlene rested her head on the couch and smiled when she remembered Damien.
What a sweet soul.
âWhatâs with that smile? Are you up to something n@Ă»ghty?â Marlene heard the voice she would never have mistaken for anyone else.
She hadnât even turned to look at him when she screamed his name.
âCharles!â She flew into her brotherâs arms and he held her for quite long.
âWhen did you get back?â She asked after they disÂŁngaged from the hvg.
She really missed her brother, heâs in Oxford and sheâs sure they werenât on a break yet, so she hadnât even expected him.
âHey!â Charles almost yelled at Bes who quic-kly hid behind Marleneâs back.
âTell your little friend to get awayâ Charles said to Marlene and she laughed.
Bes and Charles has never gotten along, they were always barking and screaming at each other.
âYou should try to get along with BesâŠheâs a nice dogâ Marlene smiled, stro-king Bes who scampered away after seeing Charles glare at him.
âHave you forgotten how he almost chopped off my ear?â Charles reminded Marlene and she laughed ha-rd , falling back on the couch.
âThat was because you tried to steal my car keyâ She said, collecting the jui-ce from Claire.
She gulped it down her throat and dropped the glas-s cu-p on the table.
A maid cleared it immediately.
âI wasnât gonna steal it, i was gonna take it but that wild dog leaped on me!â Charles gro-an ed.
âYou were gonna take it? Without my consÂŁnt?â Marlene rolled her eyes.
âWellâŠi nee-ded to go out with friends and you know Dad seized my car keyâ Charles said as he sat beside her.
He has always being n@Ă»ghty and troublesome,he isnât responsible a bit and their father was always yelling at him, scolding him and reminding him heâll one day become the reigning Prince of King City.
Fun was Charles job for now, a full-time career for him.
He loves chasing girls and heâs a full time pla-yboy.
Who wouldnât fall for his charm? Charles was even more good looking than their Dad who is considered the most good looking prince to have ever reigned.
And sometimes Marlene wished he wasnât this handsome, his looks obviously got into his head.
He always looks h0t with his spiky black hair and a diamond earring which their father had complained about a million times.
And he even has a tattoo on his che-st that their father doesnât know about.
He has big brown eyes just like their Mum.
And heâs as tall and built as their Dad, though Charles is only four years older than her but he has an incredible ra-pid growth.
âMarleneâ Charles called gently blinking those big brown eyes that could make a girl melt, not her though and she instantly knew he has gotten into another trouble.
âWhat happened again?â She sighed.
âI..we are not on a break,i c@mÂŁ home because those motherfu-cker cops seized my car..while i was driving home from a p@rty,they freaking claimed i was driving recklessly and i dragged it out with them for a while, they refused to let go of my car even after i told them Iâm the crown prince of King City but they didnât believe and insisted they wanted a letter from Dad that has the Royal signature on itâŠ.before they would re-lease my carâ
âDamn!â Marlene gro-an ed.
âYou didnât show them your Royal ID?â She asked.
âDad seized it long ago!â Charles threw back his head.
âBecause you were always showing off and throwing tantrums in public, causing scandals, you were always on the news for one bad thing or the other â Marlene said.
âWell⊠yeah, i want you to help me talk to Dad. He should give me the letter with his signature on it and Iâll leaveâ
âThatâll be difficultâ Marlene said.
âI know but dad would do anything for youâ Charles said, knowing how much their Dad loves Marlene.
âIâll do that on one conditionâŠâ Marlene said.
âWhat?â Charles frowned.
âYouâll nee-d to make a promise you wonât get into another trouble..â
âI promiseâ Charles pouted after hesitating for a while.
âEasier said than doneâ Marlene glared at him. âIf you should get into another trouble again,i wonât help you!â
âI wonât get into another trouble. I promiseâ Charles said, stro-king his sisterâs hair.
âClaireâŠis Dad out?â Marlene asked.
âNo,he isnât. I just served him soupâ
âOhhâ Marlene said.
âHelp me with my shoes Charlesâ Marlene said tiredly âAnd my socks tooâ
âAre you going to meet dad now?â Charles asked.
âNo,i still have to freshen up. I just hope i wonât fall asleep in the showerâ she tea-sed Charles.
âComâon, you nee-d to help me talk to Dad as soon as possible or those cops are gonna do something crazy to my car and you know itâs my favoriteâ Charles said, handing Marleneâs socks and shoes to a maid.
âGet on my backâ Charles crouched before her and she quic-kly climbe-d on his back.
He piggybacked her to her room and she almost fell asleep on his smooth broad back.
She kicked her tiny legs in the air before Charles dropped her on her be-d.
âWhat are you so excited about?â Charles asked suspiciously.
âHuh? Is it that obvious?â Marlene asked.
âOf courseâŠis there another Prince Hans in the picture?â Charles tea-sed and Marlene rolled her eyes.
Hans was her ex but she hadnât loved him a bit.
He was the crown prince of Liechtenstein and his father do visit her father from time to time.
He liked her, though she was attra-cted to his looks too..it was more like she had a little bit of crush on him.
They d@tÂŁd for three weeks and he was always buying expensive things for her,he did not mind spending lavishly on her and she doesnât even enjoy stuffs like that, she prefers re-ading with him or watching movies which he always considered âboringâ .
Sheâs not so into shopping cause she has enough in her closet.
He was her first b©yfri£nd.
She broke up with him when he tried to f0rç£ her into be-d with him. Only Charles knew about it.
âGet into my closet and fetch me some simple wears. â Marlene said to Charles as she got on her feet and he frowned.
âCanât you do it?â She asked, smiling secretly knowing sheâs taking advantage of the fact that sheâs gonna help him.
She canât tell him to do that on a normal day,heâs gonna drag her hair and give her a painful knock.
âI can do it of courseâ Charles said.
And just then Bes jumped out from un-der the be-d, startling Charles to the extent that he screamed so loud and scurried to the far end of the be-d.
Marlene couldnât hold her laughter, she laughed so ha-rd that she had to quic-kly hold a chair so she wonât coll@pse on the floor in laughter.
The door opened and b©dyguards filed in.
âCrown prince, princess Marlene.. are you okay?â They asked.
âYeah we areâ Marlene said still laughing.
Charles glared at Bes and Bes barked at him.
The b©dyguards walked out and closed the door behind them.
âWill you st©p laughing?â Charles rolled his eyes at Marlene and she laughed ha-rder.
Bes went back un-der the be-d after Marlene stro-ked him.
âOkayâŠâ She smiled. âIâm going to freshen up now, help me with my wearsâ
She walked into the bathroom and peeled off her school wears, she got into the tub and minutes later, she was laughing ha-rd , hearing Bes and Charles bark and scream at each other.
âš
Marlene bounded up the back stairs in black jeans and cream coloured t-shi-t that she had selected for herself.
Charles had selected a ball go-wn for her!
Her hair was still we-t so she let it down her w@!st and it danced as she hurried to her Dadâs office.
She walked in and met him poring over a stack of papers with a serious look on his face.
He hadnât heard her come in.
âPapaâ Marlene smiled as she walked into his office which had b©dyguards at every corner.
He glanced up and smiled as she sli-pped quietly into the chair beside him.
He was plea-sed to see her,he always was.
Sheâs his little princess and he loves and adore her so much, she has been well behaved over the years, she has always fill the void of Charles who is so irresponsible that it makes him sick.
He wished women were allowed to reign in King city,he would have handed the reigns to Marlene.
âHave you eaten? Marlâ He asked and she shook her head.
âWhy?â He asked in concern.
âAre you busy papa?â Marlene asked burying her head in the crook of his nÂŁÂąk and he knew she wanted something.
âNo..for now but i have a meeting with the finance minister in a few minutesâ He said pushing the papers away with a sigh.
He explained his latest endeavors and she listened with interest.
Her father was a man of integrity, compas-sion and courage,he was regarded with great affection by all the people who knew him.
King City has experienced slow economic growth for the past fifty years but there has been great improvement since her father took over the reigns and that made the people love him more.
Marlene always listen to whatever he says but Charles was far more self-indulgent and paid no affection to his fatherâs wisdom .
She knew how disappointed her father was in Charles and she always felt she had to make it up to him some how.
âWhat are you bothered about? donât you like your new school?â He asked.
âNo! I love itâ Marlene quic-kly said.
âHas your identity been revealed?â He asked, knowing how much Marlene doesnât like ex-posing her title.
âNoâ Marlene said, she had left her former school cause her identity was revealed.
She loves it when people have no idea who she was,she loves to be treated like every other person, sometimes she gets tired of been given special treatment.
She loves to be free from restrictions and obligations of the royal palace.
She never told people that her family home was a royal palace in King City..
âItâs about Charles Dadâ She finally said.
âHe got into trouble again?â He asked and she nodded.
Marlene explained everything to him and sighed.
He was not surprised, Charles was always getting into one trouble or the other.
âplea-se papa, just get him a letter with your signature on it. I made him promise he wonât cause trouble againâ Marlene said and her father was silent.
âPapaâ Marlene held his hand and gave him one of her sad looks.
He hates seeing her sad.
âHe should leave the car with the cops,Iâll get another one for him.â
âPapa, thatâs his favorite car⊠plea-seâ Marlene pleaded, placing her head in his palms, he smiled as he t©uçhed her silky hair.
Sheâs the younger version of her mother and whenever he sees her, his mind wanders to his wife immediately.
âOkay.. Iâll get the letter and signature for him tomorrowâ
âThank you Papa!â Marlene said happily.
âI love youâ she k!$$ÂŁd him on both cheeks.
âHowâs mum?â She asked.
âSheâll be back by weekend, havenât you called her?â
âI was going to, when i leave hereâ
Her mum was represÂŁnting her Dad in a Royal function in England.
Her motherâs ancestors were mostly German with cousins in England, her motherâs native ton-gue was German but she speaks Italian, Spanish and English as well.
Marlene is still trying to learn Spanish, she knows French quite well and she was almost fluent in German too.
Her father is French, heâs from the two Royal families of France who had been ruling monarchy before the French revolution.
Marlene descended from Royal families on all sides.
It was less likely that she would marry anyone not of Royal birth, her father would never allow it.
The Bourbons and Orleans were all royal highnesses on her motherâs side.
Her motherâs father had been a royal highness as well.
The reigning Prince of King City Prince Alexandre Louis who is her father, is a Serene highness.
Marlene was both Royal and Serene highness, her official title was Serene, they were related to the Windsors in England, the queen of England was their second cousin.
Every single one of their relatives and their ancestors were all of Royal birth.
Prince Alexandre Louisâs as-sistant entered the room as they finished the coffee the footman had served them.
He smiled at Marlene and she smiled back at him, he was just like an uncle to her,he had been working for her father even before she was born.
âIâm so sorry to interrupt you Your Highnessâ Arthur said.
âYou have an appointment with the finance minster in ten minutes and we have some new reports that you might have to re-ad before meeting himâ
Marlene knew her father would be busy until dinner.
Sometimes she went with him and most times she appears at similar events as the princess that she is.
âThank you Arthur,Iâll be downstairs in a few minutesâ her father said and Arthur bowed to both of them and silently left the room.
Marlene looked at her father and sighed, her chin in her hands.
Her father smiled, he was so proud to have such a pretty daughter and a very good girl.
âDonât you get tired of what you do papa, you ba-rely have time to restâ Marlene complained with a frown, though her father had never complained about it.
âI enjoy what i do though i hated it at first but itâs an obligation and my greatest joy is to see my city progressâ He said as he got to his feet.
Marlene followed suit.
âWould you like to join me at the meeting with our ambas-sador to the UN tomorrow? â
âNo, i have to cut a ribbon at a hospitalâ Marlene said.
Thatâs one of her duties as a princess.
She only appeared in the press at state occasions with her father or when opening hospitals or libr@ries and when she was out with her British cousins, there was one of her in a ballgo-wn too in an article about young Royals.
She loves keeping low profileâŠ
Her father had warned Charles that if keeps appearing in the press for bad reasons,heâs gonna cut off his allowance and that was what made Charles to behave.
âIâll see you tonightâ He said as he hvgged his daughter.
âOkay papaâ Marlene said.
đ
âHeâs going to get you the letter and signature tomorrowâ Marlene announced to Charles.
He swept her into his arms like a baby and carried her round the house happily.
She was laughing ha-rd by the time he finally dropped her.
âBes is saying hi to youâ She tea-sed as Bes appeared in the living room.
Charles gro-an ed and Marlene laughed.
Bes barked.
