DIEGO’S HOUSE**

Layla returned home looking quite unhappy about something.

She entered the house and was surprised to see Felix seated in the living room.

She knitted her brows as she quietly approached the couch where he was seated, searching around for her maid.

“What are you doing here?” She asked.

Felix looked up at her and a smile appeared on his face. “Good morning to you too, Layla.” He stood up to his feet.

She rolled her eyes, not minding her manners. “Why are you here? You should be in the hospital receiving treatment.”

“The doctor didn’t stop me when I said I wanted to be discharged. Besides, you of all people know how much I detest hospitals. The environmental air suffocates me.”

“That’s not an excuse not to get treated, Felix. Look at you,” She gestured at his face. “you look like shit. You can barely speak up.”

Felix faintly touched his face and sighed. “Shit happened.”

“What happened? Did you get into a fight with some group of thugs?” She crossed her arms over her chest, raising a questioning brow at him.

“Not particularly. It’s just_”

“Oh. So you did get into a fight. Wow, I thought we were best friends but now I see that there are a lot of things I do not know about you.” She shook her head. “If someone had told me that my best friend was a fighter, I would have laughed in their face and swear with my life that he would never fight.”

“Layla, please stop talking like this. People fight once in a while. It’s normal.”

“You are not people.” She said.

He ruffled his hair and then hissed in pain. “fuc-k , my arm hurt as well.”

“Your bones were broken in case the doctor forgot to tell you about that. You know what, I’m taking you back to the hospital.”

“No.” He refused, gro-aning as more pain shot up on his face. “Why did they have to damage my face, huh?”

“Who are they? How many were they? Shouldn’t we report this case to the cops?”

Felix slowly shook his head. “No. We can’t. I brou-ght this upon myself after all.”

“How? Were they loan sharks?” She gasped. “Is that why you wanted to get married to Diamond? Because you were owing some people money and they threatened to_”

“You’ve watched too many movies, babes.” He smiled but not wide enough to hurt his cheek.

“Loan sharks are not fairy tales, Felix. Stop making it look like I’m stupid because I’m not.”

“Fine. I’m sorry. However, I don’t owe loan sharks any money. I would never do that.” He said.

She heaved out a sigh of relief. “Then what happened to you?”

Felix hesitated. “Diamond told her father the whole truth.”

“Huh?”

“Mr. Rhodes came down to Las Vegas, he invited Diamond and me for a drink and right there she spill out the whole truth.”

“Oh, God. Well, it’s about time she told her father.”

“Really?”

“Yes, Felix. Come on, you are my best friend and I lov…care about you but let’s be honest with ourselves. You fuc-k ex up big time. What were you expecting? That she would marry you? Felix, you hurt her. You broke her heart, remember?”

“By fuc-k ing you.” He blurted out.

“Lower your voice.” Layla whisper-yelled, looking around to see if her make was anywhere around. “What the fuc-k is wrong with you? Don’t you know Daria is around and might overhear our conversation?”

“Are you scared? What, isn’t it about time your husband hears the truth as well?”

She pointed a finger at him, warningly. “Don’t even think about threatening me right now. What happened between us was a mistake.”

“A mistake?” He stalked closer to her. “A mistake should only happen once or twice, don’t you think?”

“Felix, stop. My maid is_”

“Do you think I give a fuc-k about that?” He cut her off. “It’s your damn fault everything in my life is shattering. You sed-uce d me years ago when I was in a relationship with Diamond. You made me fall for your evil schemes!”

“I did not do anything of such. Yes, I’d sed-uce d but I never forced you to,” She lowered her voice. “fuc-k me. You had the choice to make whether to accept or not.”

“Are you saying it’s my fault?” He co-cked a brow.

Layla ran her fingers over her hair. “You shouldn’t be here.”

“Why? Because you are scared your home will fall apart if your husband gets to know the truth?”

“What is your problem? Why are you blaming me for your misfortune? You brou-ght what is happening upon yourself, okay? I didn’t do anything so don’t blame me for it. Please, leave my house now.”

Felix smirked and leaned his face closer to her, their li-ps almost grazing.

“What are you doing?” She tried to take a step back but he caught her hand and held her in place.

“Your heart doesn’t race anymore for me. Your breathing is normal…” He looked de-eply into her eyes. “You are not attracted to me anymore. Why, because of my face?”

“Stop this.” She yanked her wrist from his grasp and he immediately let go, staggering back. He was weak. “I love my husband.”

“Wow. Why then did you act as if you care?” He asked.

“You are my best friend, Felix.”

“Best friends don’t fuc-k !” He said throu-ghclenched teeth.

“We should stop being friends then. Don’t ever come to my house again. Stay away from me.”

He nodded. “Fine. No problem.” He smiled. “Thank you for taking me to the hospital and caring for me…I owe you.” He headed to the door, twisted it open, and then look back at her. “But just so you know, I won’t be the only one taking the fall.” He walked out of the house, closing the door.

Layla gro-aned, tugging at her hair as she dropped onto the couch. “Oh, no. My sins are coming back at me. What do I do? Will Felix really tell my husband the truth? Oh, God. What do I do?” She started crying.

DIAMOND’S ROOM**

“You are not going to quit again!?” Zara asked at the top of her voice.

Diamond whined as she drew her phone away from her ear. When she noticed there was silence at the other end of the line, she brou-ght it back against her ear.

“You don’t have to scream like that. You almost damaged my eardrum.” She hissed.

“Does it look like I care? What is wrong with you, huh?”

“What do you mean?”

“You accepted this job because of your boss’s dic-k and now you’ve got gotten it, you should quit. That was the agreement from the very beginning.”

“I guess she’s addicted to her boss’s dic-k now.” Ayden chuckled.

“Is that true?”

“Zara, calm down and Ayden, shut up.” Diamond let out a de-ep breath. “He asked me to meet him on the pavement tonight.”

“So? Is that why you don’t want to quit?”

“Uh…no. But,” She paused. “Isn’t it wrong for me to just quit without informing the kid first?”

“When did you start caring about the kid’s emotions?” Ayden asked. “Or have the little girl crawl her way into your heart?”

“Ayden, I told you to shut up. You are speaking out of point.”

“How is that out of point?” Zara asked. “Answer his question, Diamond. Do you care about kids now because that’s the only reasonable reason why you want to remain in the job?”

“Uhm…” Diamond’s mind wandered off to the little girl. She won’t deny the care she has started developing for her. Although, she doesn’t want to flow with the emotions. “No.”

“No?” Ayden and Zara repeated.

“No.” She affirmed.

“Then…it is still about your boss. Girl, do you have feelings for him?”

“What? No!” Diamond thickly denied. “It’s just s-ex and nothing else.”

“It was supposed to be a one-time thing but here you are saying you don’t want to quit again. What is going on?”

“Nothing. Like I said it’s just s-ex. Maybe Ayden is right…maybe I’m addicted to my boss’s dic-k and want more. Besides, I still need to be here because of my ongoing novel. And I am yet to receive my pay.”

“For two months and you are not yet paid?” Ayden questioned.

“According to what I heard, they pay every four months. You know what, I’m going to quit after I receive my payment.”

“You are trying to say you want to stay there for a few more months.” Zara said.

“Two months extra to be precise.”

“Are you sure you haven’t started developing feelings for your boss?”

Diamond clenched her fist and bites her lower li-p. Her heart usually beats fast and loud whenever he was around. Sometimes, she thinks about him. And last night was literally stuck at the back of her head. Yes, she was attracted to him in some way. But of course, it’s all just s-ex and nothing more. She can’t possibly be in love with him. Love is a game. If you lose, you get crushed.

“Stop talking about feelings, Zara. I don’t love my boss.”

“Who said, love? I only asked if you had feelings for him. You can be attracted to someone and not love them romantically.”

“Oh, God.” Diamond face-palmed herself.

“You just gave yourself away, honey. So you love_” Diamond cut Ayden off.

“I DON’T LOVE HIM. BYE!” She hung up the call and tossed her phone to the bed. “Ugh, these friends of mine are going to be the death of me.” She plopped onto the dressing chair and sighed. “I don’t love him. It’s just s-ex…okay, I think I’ve said that word quite a lot. Damn!!”

GARDEN**

“I don’t know why you are here.” Paige muttered with an eye roll.

“Do you have a problem with me?” Boaz asked.

“Why should I? It’s not your fault you are this dense.”

“Dense? Wait, what?”

“Don’t disturb me. I need to_”

“Paige!” Diamond’s cheerful voice interrupted her.

Paige looked up at the nanny and grinned widely. “Miss Chase, here you are.”

“Yeah. How are you doing?”

“Fine. Just taking care of the flowers…as usual.”

“I can see that.”

“So, about earlier, you seemed excited over something after dropping the bombshell about quitting.”

“Quitting..?” Boaz repeated, eyes wide-ned as he stared at the nanny. “You want to quit?”

She shook her head, giving him an awkward smile. “Nah. I was only a-ssuming, ‘What if I quit today?’ Something like that.”

“Oh.”

Boaz furrowed his brows, giving Diamond a weird look. She noticed this and cleared her throat.

“Can you stop looking at me like that?”

“Miss Chase, can I ask you a question?”

“If it’s not a dumb question then yes.”

He chuckled softly. “Have you ever used a gun before?”

“What?” Diamond and Paige exclaimed at the same time.

“Calm down, girls. It’s only a harmless question.”

“I don’t think this should be considered a harmless question.” Paige muttered, shaking her head.

“I don’t get it, why are you asking me that? Does it look like I’ve used a gun before?”

“You can’t know that just by looking at one’s face. You know, people are so unpredictable.”

“Yeah…people are unpredictable. For example, your question.”

Boaz laughed. “Hmm. It was a mere question. Yes or no.” He shrugged.

“Well, the question caught me by surprise, that’s all.”

“I see.” He smiled. “Life is unpredictable. The devil you know might be better than the angel you don’t. For instance, your father might turn out to be a killer and you won’t know. Or Paige, she might be in love with me and I won’t know. Or me, I might be fuc-k ing our boss and no one would know.”

“Okay, that last part was eww.” Diamond scrunched up her face in disgust. She can’t imagine the boss fuc-k ing another girl that wasn’t her talk more of a dude.

“Why? You don’t like g-ays?”

“I have no problem with g-ays. In fact, I have a best friend who is one but…”

‘No one is allowed to get close to the boss aside from me. My p**sy belongs to him and his dic-k belongs to me. That sounds…very possessive. Anyway.’ She thought to herself.

Diamond cleared her throat. “You got everything wrong. First of all, I have never used a gun before. Secondly, my dad is not a killer and I find that extremely insulting.”

“I’m sorry.” He threw his hands in the air as if in surrender. “I crossed the line.”

“You really did.” She scoffed.

“And just so you know, I don’t have any kind of feelings for you. My heart belongs to someone else.” Paige quickly said, hiccuping.

Boaz stared at him. “Ah. I see. I’m sorry for saying that. I’m sorry, girls. I should get going now, I have a lot I work to do.” He sadly stared at Paige before walking away.

“Why did he look at me like that?” Paige asked.

Diamond clic-ked her tongue, shaking her head. “Tsk. You claim that he is dense but turns out you are all dense.”

“Huh?”

“You fuc-k ed up, girl.” The nanny patted her twice on the shoulder and started walking away.

“How did I fuc-k up? Miss Chase, can you explain this to me? How am I dense? What did I do wrong?”

Diamond did not answer.

ARIA’S HOUSE**

The young lady opened the door and gro-aned inaudibly when she saw it was her best friend.

“You don’t look so happy to see me.” Lottie observed.

“I didn’t expect to see you here.” She said, going inside the house.

Lottie walked in and shut the door. “I’m sorry I didn’t call.”

“Of course, I’m sure you smashed the poor phone. I know you too well, Lottie.” She poured herself a glas-sof white wine and went to sit down on the bar stool.

“Oops. Now I feel bad for smashing my phone.”

“You do? I didn’t know you had such emotion. I guess I don’t know you so well after all.”

“Okay, I get you are mad at me, and yeah, you have every right to be but aren’t you taking things too far?”

“You think I’m taking things too far?” Aria scoffed. “You left the hospital without telling me. Do you know how worried sick I was about you? I couldn’t blink an eye because I was so concerned about you. But what did you do in return? You fuc-k ing left without a word!”

“I said I’m sorry. I hurriedly left the hospital because I wanted to meet Mikhail and tell him the truth about_”

“Mikhail, Mikhail, Mikhail!’ Aria screamed, coming up to her feet. “That’s all you care about. You are so obsessed with this man that…I don’t even know what to say. Have you ever worried about me as you do with him? Do you even know that my grandmother died last night?”

“Your grandmother died last night? I thought she died a long time…” She stopped talking when she saw the ha-rd glare on Aria’s face. “That’s not the best thing to say. I’m sorry. I didn’t know about this.”

“Of course, you won’t. You don’t care.”

“Stop saying that. I do care about you, Aria. I swear.”

“Hmm. If this is your way of showing care…I’d rather much prefer if you don’t care at all.” She made her way to leave when Lottie said,

“Are you jealous?”

“What?”

“Answer me, Aria. Are you jealous? I am finally getting on good terms with my niece which gives me the opportunity to kick that nanny out of the house. You of all people should be happy for me.”

“I should be happy for you. I SHOULD BE HAPPY FOR YOU!?” Aria angrily smashed the champagne glas-son the floor.

“Ahh,” Lottie screamed, jumping back in fright.

“I didn’t expect that reaction from you, after all, you are the queen at breaking stuff. Listen, I don’t care about what happens to you and Mikhail. I have a lot of things in my head. Most importantly, I have a funeral to plan. Thanks for being the best friend of the year.” She turned around and walked out on Lottie.

EVENING????

PAVEMENT**

Diamond has been waiting for her boss for over thirty minutes.

She kicked pebbles on the floor, looking left and right for any sign of him.

She brou-ght out her phone and checked the time, it was half past 7.

“Ugh, did he forget about our meet-up?” Her started ringing, her father’s face displaying on the screen.

She answered the call. “Dad,”

“Hey, honey. How are you?”

“I’m fine. What about_” She suddenly sighted her boss coming towards her. “Dad, let’s talk later.”

“Huh? But we only just started talking.”

“Yeah. I love you too. Bye!” She hung up the call at the same time Mikhail got to her. “Good evening boss!” She grinned widely.

He nodded his head. “Hmm. How long did you wait for?”

“Uhm…thirty minutes? It’s fine, though. You are here now and that’s what matters.”

“I forgot to leave a specific time.”

“Figures.”

“How did you know your way here?” He stuffed his hands inside his pocket.

“Paige directed me.” She nodded her head at the bench behind them. “We should seat.”

“Of course,” They sat down beside each other. “I saw you on the phone with someone, who was it?”

“My dad.” She suddenly remembered her drunk words to him and immediately corrected herself. “My stepdad.”

“Oh. I didn’t know you had a stepdad.” Mikhail said.

“I never talked about him. Which is weird because he is someone I like to brag about to the whole world.”

“Oh, really?” Mikhail tilted his head. “Tell me about him then.”

“Well,” She was hesitant.

“What, we are still not close enough to talk about your stepdad? I thought you said you like bragging about him.” He raised a brow.

“Yeah…” She sighed. “I don’t want to bore you, that’s all.”

“Allow me to be the judge of that. And besides, I love boring stories.” He said in a low seductive voice.

Diamond’s heart skipped a beat. “Hmm.” She cleared her throat. “Okay. So what do you want to know about_”

Mikhail’s phone started ringing. He dug it out of his pocket and answered the call.

“Speak.”

“Sir, you need to go to the club right now.”

“What’s going on?”

“Lord Gregory is there. The manager just called to inform me of his presence.”

“Get the car ready, I will be right there.”

“Yes, sir.”

He hung up the call and rose to his feet.

“Seems like our chitchat will have to be on hold.”

“Business, right?” She stood up.

“Yeah.” He leaned close to her face, their li-ps almost touching. “Tut. Too bad, I wanted to taste that p**sy of yours.” He ran his thumb finger over her bottom li-ps while his other hand ran along her inner thighs. Diamond su-cked in a shaky breath. “I want to know what your p**sy taste like,” His fingers graze her cl*t throu-ghthe thin layer of her pan-ties. “Vanilla, strawberry, honey…I’m damn curious. Let’s have this chitchat some other time, shall we?” She quickly nodded her head like a little girl, her breathing becoming heavy. “Good girl.” He shoved his thumb finger inside her mouth and watched her su-ckit like it was a delicious lolli-pop. He pulled it out afterward and smirked. “Think about your greatest s-ex fantasy however, do not touch yourself, do I make myself clear?” She nodded again. “Such a good girl.” He patted her hair and pecked her on the neck before walking away.

“fuc-k .” Diamond let out a strained mo-an.

AURORA’S ROOM★30MINS**

“Kid?” Diamond called, looking around the empty room. “Kid?” She checked the bathroom but the girl was nowhere to be seen. “Ugh, where the hell is this girl?”

The nanny was on her way out when she mistakenly knocked down a framed picture. “Oh, shit.” She picked it up and kept it back on the table. She turned around to leave but a face in the picture drew her attention.

Diamond creased her brows, lifting the picture to her face. Her gaze was solely on the brunette girl.

“Who is this?” She frowned, tilting her head. “And why does she look so familiar?”

TBC.
