The city bec@m£ survival of the fittest for the catastrophe and pandemonium brou-ght to it by Alice. People suddenly bec@m£ hungry for their fellow humans, infecting and destroying properties. Policemen open fire on them but was like killing a single soldier-ant out of many in its nest.

Nevertheless, regardless of whom Cas-sandra thought Grace might be, she had no choice but to follow Vicker to the residence, dodging and killing infected victims. The house was closer to the main road, so Vicker nee-ded not to lose focus as he sh0t victims dead at the door of the house.

“Cas-sandra, knock at the door!” he commanded her, still never losed focus.

The young girl began to ban-g the door like one pursued by thieves. “Someb©dy, open the door!” she yelled.

Several times without response, Vicker joined her. “Grace, open! It’s me!”

Instantly, the door opened and they entered and locked it again. Vicker and Cas-sandra didn’t take any other step forward, they surveyed the sanctum especially Cas-sandra who found it very local compared to theirs. They could see people who occu-pied all the cushions in the living room which one of them was Grace’s mother. They all seated quietly with hands folded, listening to gunsh0ts and cry of people from outside.

“Here, sit.” Grace brou-ght a plastic chair to Vicker. Cas-sandra used that opportunity to an-alyse her: dark hair, brown skin, dimples and above all, meek. She could tell from her voice. She wore a loose milky go-wn like a village house-wife. Cas-sandra was beginning to lose hope, seeing how elegant the almighty Grace appeared.

“Thanks,” Vicker gestured at Cas-sandra to sit on the chair instead coz he wasn’t re-ady to sit as he eyes never dep@rted from the old and young people in the house.

Grace glanced at Cas-sandra who had seated on the chair then back to Vicker who had also stepped foreword to the people, standing in their midst like an evangelist. He pointed a gun at an old man who seated alone. Everyb©dy g@sped!!

“Young man, what do you think you’re doing?” Mrs Jane, Grace’s mother stood up.

“Vicker st©p.” Grace added.

“What’s wrong with you, Vicker?” Cas-sandra whispered.

Vicker never left the barrel of the gun out of the man who couldn’t even say a word but perplexed. “This man is infected with the disease” he said.

“The only person that could be infected in this house is you and this girl you c@m£ with!” Grace challenged. Cas-sandra looked at her once again. She noticed hatred from her voice.

“I guess this man just c@m£ in immediately before us, isn’t it?” Vicker asked, but all remained quiet coz it was true. The silence that took over the room enabled them to use their initiatives. Suddenly, the man gro-an ed like a wild animal, wanting to attack Vicker, but he was swift enough to shoot him dead. Grace, along with other feminine in the house screamed.

Cas-sandra stood up to him with the movement of a snail. “Vicker, how did you know the man was infected?” her voice trailed.

Vicker didn’t respond, still monitoring the people.

“You know something that we don’t know. Hope I’m right, Vicker?” Cas-sandra’s voice trailed again. Yet the young man didn’t say anything.

Mrs Jane broke the silence, glaring at him. “I don’t want you in my house, Vicker? There is nothing between good and evil”

“Mother…”

“Quiet!” the woman interrupted the daughter who tried to calm her down. Cas-sandra couldn’t help but to wonder what the problem might be.

Vicker turned to the woman, looked at Grace then back to her mother. “I’ll leave.” He sounded very sorry for what Cas-sandra battled to un-derstand.

Grace met her mother. “Mother, you can’t s£nd him out there. It’s dangerous.” She whispered.

“No, I’ll go but not until Grace’s phone rings.” Vicker interfered. All looked at one another.

“Why my phone?”

“Coz I’m here.”

Another silence took over which Cas-sandra broke saying, “Can I use the phone to see if my parents and sister are fine?”

Vicker turned to her. “Thats the reason why her phone has to ring before we leave. So don’t worry”

The response got her confused. She didn’t know who Vicker was again. He was behaving as if he had planned everything alre-ady. And yes, truly Vicker had planned everything. There are bigger things the city was yet to know about him.

Just then, the phone rang inside the lady’s room. So he rushed it, picked it as he was coming out to the living room.

“Don’t enter my room next time!” Gace yelled at him.

“What has he done to you both?” Cas-sandra looked at her and her mother. “He was at the point of death yesterday and the only name he could mention was ‘Grace’ and you both are nefarious about him!”

“And who are you?” Mrs Jane retaliated, while Grace stared at Vicker, thinking about what Cas-sandra said. “Whosover you are, you shouldn’t have interfered coz you don’t know anything.” She added.

Her statements brou-ght tranquillity around the room. It also made Vicker not to speak to the caller at the moment until she had ended. He ignored them to the window.

“Hello, you wasted time.” He said on the phone then listened like everyone else until he said, “Okay” and hung up the call. He turned to the women whose faces looked inquisitive.

“Cas-sandra, your mother and sister are fine.” He broke the silence.

She stepped forward. “My dad?” she curiously asked.

“I’m sorry” he replied as an afterthought. “We nee-d to go.” He stepped out from the window…

On the other hand, inside Mr Williams compound, Mark could be seen with the family and the press, even the gatekeeper was inside the living room. Mark had come to save them from the hands of Alice’s men. Unfortunately, he c@m£ after Williams was sh0t dead. He was also the one that called Vicker throu-gh Grace’s phone.

“Nob©dy moves out of this house” he began on their midst. “We all know that the city is not safe anymore. We must all remain indoors until this is over.”

“Who are you working with?” Mrs Rose asked him.

“The good guys.” He replied.

“So we gonna stock in here until Alice re-leases a cure to this disease?” One of the Press asked, positioning his c@m£ra.

“And who told you Alice is with the cure? She only believe she has it but she doesn’t. She’s yet to un-derstand that.”

“Who then is with the cure?”

“An xxx celebrity.” Everyone bec@m£ surprised in the house. Only Sandra and her mother had an idea whom he was referring to. Mark aimed his gun at the c@m£ra and sh0t it beyond repair. “You don’t record that coz nob©dy nee-ds to know. Like i said, we all must wait until this p©rn star comes.” He concluded obnoxiously to others who only imagined who he was talking about…..

FLASH BACK
Meanwhile, the gatekeeper had called Mr Williams on call with the wife saying hastily, “Madam, come home now, the driver is doing something wrong in the house and Cas-sandra is lying dead. I believe the driver had done something to Sandra too.”

As the parents were on their way home, so as Vicker was at the verge of getting what he wanted. He dug out the box from the bathroom, placed it on the man’s be-d where he opened it to see a paper attached with metal. He brou-ght it out, disconnected a DStv decoder, took the ha-rd drive and replaced it in the box……

Vicker la-id on the floor of his house, enduring the pains of the dislocation. Mark entered in a hurry to see him n-ked, then shocked.

“Guy, do you think you’re acting p©rn?”

“Shut up and fix my dislocation.” he gro-an ed.

Mark held one of his two legs like a mas-seuse, cracked the joint back to its original location. Vicker screamed!! He had to place the box on the centre table where he opened it. Both men rounded it like mourners rounding a casket.

“So, this is it?” Mark broke the silence.

“No, this is it” Vicker brou-ght out the paper. Mark collected it, looking at it like an illiterate.

“Guy, this is chemistry coordinate or is it reactions of some heavy elements?”

“I’m not giving it to Alice”

Hearing that, Mark surprisingly looked at him while he continued.

“I’ve broken my sim card. Go to Williams’ tomorrow to protect them especially Cas-sandra. When you do, call this number.” He handed Grace’s number to him. “I’ll be there to answer you.”

“But guy, why?” Mark asked.

“I must deal with Alice. She threatened my mother.” He concluded.
***************************
Alice arrived at Vicker’s residence a few minutes later, holding the box in her hand. Mark and Vicker watched her silently from a corner likewise other security men. When she opened the box, she frowned, bringing out an unfamiliar device.

“What? isn’t that what you s£nt me to get?” VIcker broke the silence.

“Yes, the man pla-yed you. He knew about your mission.” Alice replied.

The two men looked at each other….
:
At the desert where Alice handed Vicker to Williams. Inside the car, the man unfolded him, loos£ned his mouth but left his hands tied. He glared throu-gh his eyes, feeling the h0tness of the desert.

“You fv¢ked up! You shouldn’t have listened to Alice!”

“I listen to no one.” Vicker replied. One could see droplet of sweat running down throu-gh his n£¢k. “You and I know that you didn’t give Alice the right thing she wanted because I took it.”

“It’s a written chemistry coordinates. I could have it off head.”

“If you could, why didn’t you have it off-head rather than hidding it? Let me go and I will give it to you.”

“No, my children’s lives are more important to me.” He blindfolded him for the second time and drove away….

CONTINUITY FROM GRACE’S RESIDENCE.
Regardless of the pandamonum in the city, Vicker began to walk to the door after ordering Cas-sandra to follow him. All watched him especially Grace until he st©pped at the door after noticing that Cas-sandra wasn’t following him.

“Cas-sandra, I said let’s go!” he repeated harshly. Yet the young girl didn’t make a move. Thus, generating silence. Surprisingly, Grace had to be the one that walked up to him slowly, leaving her mother’s side.

‘Grace, what do you think you’re doing?” the mother asked her.

“If you want to chase him out, mother, you have to chase me too.” She replied. Cas-sandra couldn’t help it but to get jealous over the statement.

“Grace, listen.” Vicker began. “I’m not going because your mom doesn’t want me. I’m going because it’s necessary.”

The girl stared at him lovely to the sight of Cas-sandra and her mother. “Is it true?” she whispered throu-gh her S-xyl-ips which Vicker couldn’t avert from.

“What are you talking about?” he whispered too.

“That you mentioned my name at the point of death.”

Vicker kept quiet. He wondered why she was only concern about that rather than the cause of the escaped death and how he escaped.

“Are you still into…” Grace swallowed ha-rd . “You know what I mean.”

“Yes, I’m still into p©rn.” He replied.

Grace adjusted away from him. He straightened up his head to Cas-sandra saying for the third time. “Cas-sandra, we have to go!” He looked throu-gh the window to see an abandoned car with no much diseased victims. He turned to Cas-sandra who had approached closer to the door. “Wait here, if I ignite that car, you run out, okay?”

Cas-sandra nodded fearfully. After Vicker clutched the doorknob, the two girls glanced at each other. Obviously they considered each other as a stumbling block to the heart of Vicker. Truly, Grace still loved him but had to let go due to who he is. But now she had set her eyes on him again, the feelings has come to her too.

Nevertheless, Vicker broke the driver’s glas-s, open the car, joined two wires un-der the steering and the car kicked on. He activated the horn for Cas-sandra to do as he said. Looking back at the door of the house, he saw her running out with Grace. Both entered into the back seat. Vicker had no choice but to drive away instantly.

“Where are we going to?” Cas-sandra asked inside the car.

Vicker glanced at her throu-gh the centre mirror. “To your house.” He replied.

“Why?”

“Because that’s where everything gonna happen. Get re-ady to put your brother abroad on phone.” He concluded.

Cas-sandra could only imagine what he knew and what he was up to. She could see him occas-sionaly glancing at the mirror to have a sight of Grace’s face who hadn’t said anything.

Suddenly, on their way, he saw Alice on public broadcasting television. She was currently all over the media, so Vicker had to tune on the car radio to also hear her voice saying, “If your are alive or normal or the government; we must do something to st©p this disease that have fallen the city. We are working on the identification of the disease and it’s vaccine or cure…”

“Fool!” Vicker turned off the radio. “She’s yet to un-derstand.”

“un-derstand what?” Cas-sandra asked.

“That she has to come, for me to put a bullet in her head.” his response confused the ladies the more especially Cas-sandra.

:
A few minutes later, they arrived at the very house of the twins. Approaching the front door from the gate, they saw dead bodies on the floor which Mr Williams was among. Cas-sandra screamed wanting to run to him, but Vicker held her back until they entered into the living room.

“Cas-sandra, my daughter!”

“Mom!” she ran and hvgged her in tears.

Meanwhile, Vicker and Grace had not taken a step forward. Just then, Sandra ran to him and hvgged him in the sight of Grace who wondered how many women that was crushing on her ex. Sandra was another craxy girl who wouldn’t let any girl take Vicker from her, not even her sister…..
