Stella’s P.O.V
I was cooking some dinner for Jasper and I to eat. I had talked to his mom who gave me a recipe book of the food they normally ate. I heard footsteps ma-king me look up.

“Hey,” I said to Jasper.

“Hey. Whatcha cookin?” He asked walking over.

“Salmon,” I told him.

“That looks awfully similar,” Jasper said before looking down at the book.

“My mother gave you a recipe book?”
“Yeah. I told her that I wanted to cook dinner tonight and thought that I should cook something you like,” I told him.

“I do like salmon. Let me help you,” Jasper said.

“I got this. You get changed and we’ll eat,” I told him.

“I didn’t know you cooked,” Jasper told me.

“I learned while I was in college,” I told him.

“What did you major in?” He asked.

“I wanted to be a teacher,” I told him.

“What subject?”
“English.”

“Maybe you can still be one,” Jasper told me.

“Still hoping to be one. Even though, I technically married rich, I still want to make my own money,” I told him.

“Independent, smart, and beautiful. drun!kme did right,” Jasper joked.

“Rich, handsome, and charming. drun!kme did right,” I joked at him. Jasper laughed a little before walking away to change out of his outfit.

As I was setting the table, I heard music. I looked over to see Jasper by some speakers. I smiled as it was clas-sical music.

“ro-mantic,” I told him.
“I try,” Jasper said before helping me.

After I brou-ght in the food, I took a seat in front of him. We both started to eat in silence. Listening to the music.

“How was your day?” I asked, breaking the silence between us.

“Great. ma-king a good deal right now that might help the company,” Jasper told me.

“That’s good.”

“How was planning the wedding?” Jasper asked me.

“Fine. I’m thinking of doing cake testing soon. When are you available?” I asked him.

“I can cancel anything on any day for you,”
Jasper told me.

“Alright. I’ll talk to Gwen and make sure you’re not doing anything busy,” I told him.

After dinner, we sat on the couch watching a show. I was leaning against him as his arm was around me. I looked up at Jasper before looking back at the show. As soon as I felt like I was getting tired, I rose from the couch.

“Something wrong?” Jasper asked me.

“No. Just a little tired. I’m going to change into my pajamas before going to sleep,” I told him before walking away.

I walked upstairs to my room. I got out my pajamas before closing the door and changing. I put my clothes into the hamper before brushing out my hair.

Jasper’s P.O.V

I watched as Stella walked upstairs to her room. I smiled a bit as she walked away. I felt my phone buzz ma-king me look down to see Gwen’s ID. I answered the call before putting it next to my ear.

“Hey, Gwen,” I said.

“Hey, Jasper. I just got a message from Hiram Lexington. He wants to have a talk with you sometime,” She told me.

“Why?” I said, getting a bit upset.

“I’m not sure.”

“Tell him that I decline that offer,” I told her.

“Of course.”
“Hey, Gwen. Can you also do something for me?” I asked her.

“Of course. I do work for you,” Gwen said.

“Can you start s£nding some gifts for Stella? But in a subtle way? I don’t want her to know that it’s from me,” I told her.

“Sure.”

“Thanks.”

“Are you falling for her?” Gwen asked me.

I didn’t answer for a bit. Was I falling for her? She is beautiful, kind, and caring. She’s been helping me throu-ghout this whole time and tonight felt like that I wanted to do that every night with her. Have a nice dinner and relax on the couch. Oh cra-p, I was falling for her.

“I think I am,” I told her.
Stella’s P.O.V

I was getting a dress fitting at home for the gala on Friday. I stood on the stool as Valerie was helping tailor my dress. Gwen was on her computer, typing up some things.

“So how are you?” I asked Valerie.
“Fine. How are you and Jasper?”

“We’re good,” I smiled.

The doorbell rung ma-king me look up. I looked down at Valerie who let me go to answer the door. I walked over to the door and opened it. I saw a flower deliver man with a bouquet of flowers.

“Stella Matthews?” He asked me.

“That would be me,” I nodded.

“Sign here plea-se,” He said before showing me the paper. I signed it before the handed me the flowers and leaving.

I walked back to the living room where Valerie and Gwen were still in. I smiled down at the flowers before taking out the note.

To brighten your day.

~ Your admirer

“Who’s that from?” Gwen asked.

“I’m not sure. I guess I have an admirer now,” I said.

“Maybe it’s from Jasper,” Valerie said.

“Could be. But he’s always busy so I kinda doubt it,” I said.

“Well, let me put that in water while you get finished,” Gwen said. I nodded before handing her the flowers. I stepped onto the stool as Valerie finished with the dress.

“Jasper is going to fl!pwhen he sees you,” Valerie told me. I blu-shed a bit as she continued with the dress.

Friday

Stella’s P.O.V

I got dressed into the ball go-wn, re-ady for tonight. I sat in the chair as the makeup artist did my makeup. The hair stylist was finishing up with my hair.

“You look good,” Gwen said, walking back into the room.

“Thanks,” I smiled.

“Jasper is finishing up,” She told me.

“Oh good.”

“Remember to keep close to Jasper. Don’t talk to people unless you’re spoken to.”

“Why can’t I talk to people?” I asked her.

“Rich people will do anything to bring other rich people down,” Gwen said.

“Noted.”

There was a knock on the door ma-king me look over. Gwen walked over to the door and slightly opened the door.

“Is Stella almost re-ady?” I heard Jasper ask. Gwen looked over at the stylists who nodded. I didn’t realize that they were alre-ady done.

“Almost. She nee-ds to put on her shoes and get her purse.”

“I’ll wait downstairs for her then,” Jasper told Gwen before leaving.

I walked over to the be-d and put on my heels. The stylists started to clean up so they could leave. I gr@bb£d my purse and stood up. I walked downstairs to see Jasper on the phone.

“Alright. Thank you. Bye,” He said before hanging up. He looked over at me as his jaw dropped a little.

“Hi,” I smiled. I walked downstairs to greet him.
“You look beautiful,” Jasper said.

“Thanks. You look handsome yourself,” I said, pinching the knot on his tie.

“Shall we go then?” Jasper asked.

“Yeah.”

I held onto his arm as we walked outside to get to the limo. I got inside and scooted to the side for Jasper. The music was pla-ying alre-ady lightly throu-gh the speakers.

“Are you nervous?” He asked.

“No. I’m getting used to this to be honest,” I told him.

“That’s good.”

We made it to the gala where there were paparazzi everywhere. Jasper got out first before looking over at me. He held out a hand for me which I gladly accept. I got out of the car before we walked over to the red carpet.

We posed for a bit before walking inside the gala. I smiled as I looked around. People were dancing or talking as they enjoyed the gala.

“Champagne?” A server asked.

“Thank you,” I said before taking a glas-s.

“Thank you,” Jasper said before taking a glas-s for himself.

“Jasper Kline? Is that you?” I heard. I looked over to see a handsome man walk over. He was indeed handsome but he wasn’t like Jasper.

“Hello, Killian,” Jasper said with no emotion.

“Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friend?” Killian asked.

“Stella Matthews,” I smiled, shaking his hand.

“plea-sure to meet you. I’m Killian Coldwell,” Killian introduced himself.

“If you excuse us Killian, I would like to dance with my girlfriend,” Jasper said.

“It was nice to meet you, Killian,” I smiled softly at him.

“Same here,” He said to me.

I followed Jasper to the dance floor. ~I ~held one of his hands before putting my other hand on his shoulder. He placed his free arm on my w@!st before swaying to the mu~ sic with me.
~
“Who’s Killian? You didn’t seem to plea-se with him,” I told him.

“A rival of mine,” Jasper told me.

“That bad?” I asked him.

“Kinda. He’s the kind of person who would hurt people to get his way,” Jasper told me.

“If you tell me to stay away from him, I’ll respect you and stay away,” I told him.

“No. I just don’t want you getting too close to him. You’re your own person. I can’t control you,” Jasper said.

“Jasper-”

“I mean it. You can be you. Just don’t break the contract,” Jasper told me, whispering the last p@rt.

I look up at Jasper. He looked down at me before k!ss!ngmy head. This point we st©pped dancing. I looked around before looking down a bit.

“I’m going to go get a drink,” I told him before walking out of the dance floor

Stella’s P.O.V
I stood by watching people talk and
interact. I started to feel awkward. This
wasn’t my kind of world.
My world was binge watching and
eating pizza with Daisy. Jasper’s world
was filled with fancy p@rties and fancy
everything. What did fate have in sto-re
for us?
“Stella, are you okay?” I snapped out of
my daze to look at Jasper.
“Yes. I’m fine,” I smiled softly at him.
“You sure?” He asked me.
“Yeah.”
“Well, I’m suppose to be talking with
some people and I nee-d you to be by my
side,” Jasper said.
“Okay. Let’s mingle,” I said. Jasper put
an arm around my w@!st before we
walked over towards everyone.
When the gala ended, we were in the car
on the ride back home. I leaned against
the window, trying not to fall asleep.
“Tired?” Jasper asked me.
“A little,” I told him.
“You can lean on me. I’m pretty sure
that would be more comfortable than a
window,” Jasper told me. I looked over
at him.
“Are you sure?” I asked him.
“Of course,” He said. I moved over and
leaned against him. Jasper wra-pped an
arm around me for support. I stared at
the glas-ses before closing my eyes.
After what felt like forever, we finally
st©pped. I opened my eyes and leaned
back up. I looked around before Jasper
got out of the car first. He helped me
out which I smiled softly at him.
“Thanks.”
“Do you want to go out tomorrow?”
Jasper asked.
“Sure. What’s the occasion for?” I asked
him.
“No occasion. Just to get to know each
other more,” He said.
“Alright.”
I took off my shoes when we got inside
the house. I walked upstairs to my
room. I glanced over at Jasper who
walked to his room. I went inside before
closing the door gently.
I changed into my pajamas before
climbing in be-d. I lied down, staring at
the bouquet of flowers on my dresser. I
turned to face the window and stared
outside for a bit. I thought about Jasper
and I. How he seemed protective of me
when Killian c@m£ over.
I shouldn’t think too much about us.
After all, I was just to be his wife so he
could seem more responsible. So he
could look like a man who can settle
down. I was thinking of a fantasy. Or
better yet, a cheesy Wattpad story.
Stella’s P.O.V
I woke up earlier than I’m used to. I got
out of be-d and went down to the
kitchen. I looked throu-gh the fridge to
start ma-king breakfast.
“Morning, Stella,” I heard Jasper say. I
looked over at him as he walked into the
kitchen.
“Good morning,” I said.
“What are you planning on ma-king?”
Jasper asked.
“Not sure. You don’t have as much
food,” I told him as I closed the fridge.
“We can go grocery shopping some time
this week if you want,” Jasper offered.
“Okay. What did you want to do today
by the way?” I asked him.
“I was hoping to take you shopping, get
to know you better,” Jasper shrugged.
“You don’t nee-d to take me out for
shopping. I feel like a sugar baby,” I
joked. Jasper chuckled at me.
“No. You’re paid to be married to me,”
He joked back. I smiled at him.
“But seriously, I’m hungry and there’s
not much,” I told him.
“I’ll take us out. Give me a chance to
know you better,” Jasper told me. “You
sure?” I asked him.
“Yeah.”
“Alright. Let me get changed and we’ll
go,” I told him.
After we got changed, Jasper took me
to a cute little restaurant. After ordering
our food to the waitress, I looked back
at Jasper and smiled.
“So tell me about your business. How’s
it going?” I asked Jasper.
“It’s going well. Have to do a few things,
here and there but soon, we could be
going internationally,” Jasper told me.
“That’s interesting.”
“What about you? I don’t hear you say
much on what you want to do,” Jasper
told me.
“Well my parents pester me on doing a
job I don’t want to do,” I told him.
“Then what do you want to do?” Jasper
asked.
“Become a teacher,” I told him.
“Then why don’t you?”
“I got my GED and my as-sociates
degree. Then I met you,” I told him.
Jasper smiled a bit before nodding.
“You should get your degree though.
What kind of teacher?” He asked me.
“A high school English teacher,” I told
him.
“Why high school?”
“I want to inspire teens. Help some go
back to the right track. I think that if
teachers encourage students more or if
they teach them in a way that helps
them, it’ll benefit the student’s future,” I
told him.
“Interesting. I don’t un-derstand why your
family would disapprove on that,”
Jasper told me. I softly smiled over at
him. I like that, besides my friends, there
was someone there who’s supporting
me.
“So tell me more about your company?
What’s it like?” I asked, leaning forward
to him. Jasper chuckled before
explaining to me what running a
company was like.
