Stella’s P.O.V
I woke up to the alarm on my phone ringing. I got up and quic-kly shut it off. I got up and walked out of my room. I walked over to the kitchen to get some breakfast until I saw my best friend and roommate there with McDonald’s breakfast.
“Happy birthday, Stella!” My best friend, Daisy, smiled.
“Thanks, Daisy,” I smiled back at her.
“Are you excited for the Veg@s trip?” She asked me.
“Yeah. I’m finally twenty one,” I smiled.
“Go eat and get re-ady. The girls will be here soon,” Daisy told me.
When Daisy and I were in high school, we had a small group of friends who we all agreed that when we’re all 21, we would go to Veg@s and celebr@te. Since I was the last person to turn 21, it was the time to go and enjoy ourselves.
Once I was showered and in new clothes, I checked my phone for any new notifications. Some family members (mostly my cousins) had wished me a happy birthday. My younger brother had also s£nt me a text.
“Any birthday wishes?” Daisy asked me.
“Just from my cousins and my brother.”
“Not your parents or sister?”
“Why bother? They’re glad I’m gone,” I told her.
As you can tell, I wasn’t in such good terms with my parents or sister. My sister was always the favorite child and my parents would constantly point out my flaws in front of me.
“Don’t say that,” Daisy told me.
“Look, let’s just get re-ady for the trip today,” I told her.
“Right.”
After we had gotten our bags re-ady, there was a knock on our door. I opened the door to see our best friends there smiling at us.
“Hey guys,” I smiled.
“There’s the birthday girl!” Mallory said.
“Happy birthday, Stella,” Sarah said.
“Are you re-ady to p@rty?” Sonya asked us.
“Yup. Our bags are set and re-ady to go,” I smiled.
“Great! Now let’s go! It’s a four hour drive so we nee-d to get a move on,” Sarah said.
We gr@bb£d our bags and locked the ap@rtment door. We went downstairs to the car and we put our things in. I put on my headphones as Sarah drove off.
After that long four hours of driving, we made it to Veg@s. It was alre-ady four pm which meant we were on schedule. When we got to our h0tel, we checked in and went to the rooms. Luckily, our rooms were right next to each other which let us go into the rooms whenever we wanted.
“Let’s get dressed and go down to a club,” Mallory said.
“I agree,” I said.
We changed into our night club outfits and heels. I was the only one who wore red which made me stand out.
“Wait, first, selfie cause we look good,” Mallory said. We took some pics before we went out.
When we got to a club, it was packed and we got a table. Sonya and Sarah went to go get the drinks as I looked around.
“Happy birthday, Stella,” Daisy said before hvgging me.
“Thanks guys,” I smiled.
Once Sonya and Sarah c@m£ back with the drinks, we took a glas-s and raised it up.
“We are fulfilling our promises on getting drun!kat twenty one,” Mallory said.
“Here’s to us,” I said before we clinked out glas-ses and drinking.
Stella’s P.O.V
I woke up with a pounding headache. I felt like throwing up at this point. I got up and ran to the bathroom. I threw up a bit as I gro-an ed in disgust.
“Are you alright?” I heard a man ask me.
“I’m fine. I just too much to drink,” I told him.
I froze a little as I realized something. I don’t remember going out with a guy. I flu-shed the toilet and washed my mouth and hands at the sink. I walked over to see a handsome guy with some Advil and water. He was in some plain white shi-t and briefs.
“For you,” He smiled, handing me the water and Advil.
“Thanks,” I said confused. I took the Advil and drank it down with the water. I noticed something on my f!nger ma-king me look down at it. I saw a big, expensive ring on my left f!nger ma-king me look back up at the guy.
“What the hell happened last night?” I asked him.
“Apparently, we are married,” He told me.
“Who are you?” I asked him.
“You don’t watch the news much, huh?”
“Only to check the weather. I’m only asking because I still feel a little dizzy and still processing everything in,” I told him honestly. I was too tired to come up with a good, snarky comment. He chuckled at me as he leaned back against the counter.
“I’m Jasper Kline. I’m the CEO of the Kline Industries,” He introduced himself.
“Oh. Now I know you. I’ve heard of your company. You make almost everything and you’re quite a pla-yer,” I said.
“Indeed.”
“Well, I’m Stella Matthews. I should be getting back to my friends,” I told him.
“May I drop you off then? I should at least know that my wife is safe with her friends,” Jasper told me.
“Look, this was a drun!ken mistake. Can you just s£nd me the divorce papers and you can go back to being a pla-yboy and I can go back to my normal life?” I asked him.
“Light problem there,” Jasper told me.
“What?” I asked confused.
“My parents wanted me to get married and almost set up an arrange marriage for me. However, I lied to them saying that I had a hidden girlfriend who I was planning to propose to,” Jasper told me.
“So you want me to stay as your wife so you can get out of an arrange marriage?” I asked him.
“Yes. I will even pay for anything you nee-d or want,” He told me.
“You honestly do not nee-d to do that,” I told him.
“I want to. Think of it as a little reward as you are helping me throu-gh this,” Jasper told me. I stayed silent for a bit.
“How long do you want me to be your wife?” I asked him.
“As long as they’re convinced.”
“What if I meet someone new and fall for them?” I asked.
“Then that could be used as a small sign that I focus too much on my work,” Jasper told me.
“I’m not sure if I want to do this. I mean, you’re on the news every single day and I’m not sure if I can handle that kind of pressure,” I told him.
“I can protect you from that,” Jasper promised.
“We should talk about this more when I’m more awake,” I told him.
“I agree. Come on. I’ll drop you off at your h0tel,” He told me.
“Thank you.”
The car ride was silent. When we made it back to my h0tel, Jasper st©pped me for a bit.
“Here is my number. I nee-d you to call me so we can discuss about this,” Jasper said.
“Of course,” I said before he handed me his card.
“Oh and one more thing,” I looked back at him.
“Don’t tell anyone about this agreement. Not even your friends or family,” He said. I gave him a nod before getting out of the car and walking inside my h0tel.

Stella’s P.O.V
I walked towards my room and opened the door with my key card. I saw the girls there with worried faces. They calmed down when they saw me.
“What the hell happened?” Daisy asked, coming over to hvg me.
“I woke up at my husband’s h0tel,” I told them as if it was nothing.
“Hold up. Husband?” Mallory asked me.
“Is there any proof that you’re married?” Sarah asked me.
“I nee-d food first,” I told them.
“Let’s all get cleaned up and Stella can explain everything to us during lunch,” Sarah told us.
I took a shower first. I cleaned myself up and changed into a new set of clothes. I looked at my ring and decided not to wear it. I shoved it into my pocket just in case. I walked out and charged up my phone. As I waited, I looked around and started to fix some things up.
I found an envelope and took it out. I saw a marriage certificate and I saw that Sarah was the one who signed as a witness. Another person had also signed it ma-king me look around in regret. I gr@bb£d my phone and texted Jasper.
When do you want to talk about this marriage thing? – Stella
After we were all re-ady, we went downstairs and got Krispy Kreme for breakfast. We sat in a table, a little away from people.
“So tell us everything,” Sonya told me.
“After last night, it was basically a blur. Although, when I woke up, I was in a different h0tel room and I saw the ring in my f!nger,” I told them.
“Where is it now?” Mallory asked.
“In my pocket,” I told them.
“Oh good. I thought you lost it or something. It looked pretty expensive,” Daisy said.
“You have no idea,” I said taking a sip of my coffee.
“So, who did you get married to?” Sonya asked me.
“Is he cute?” Mallory asked.
“Extremely h0t,” I sm-irked.
“Who is he?”
“Not going to say a name,” I told them.
“Come on. plea-se,” Mallory asked.
“No,” I shook my head.
“Let’s just eat so we can walk around,” Sarah suggested.
“Thank you Sarah,” I told her.
After we ate, we went outside to look around. We started to walk on the sidewalk but it was very crowded. I tried to stay with at least Daisy until I was pushed towards the street. I heard honking and someone pu-lling me towards them.
“Oh my god,” I said in shock.
“You alright, Stella?” I looked up to see Jasper holding me.
“Yeah. Thanks,” I said looking back at the road and then at him.
“Stella, are you alright?” Daisy asked me.
“I’m fine,” I told them.
“What happened?” Sonya asked.
“I got pushed into the street but Jasper here saved me,” I said.
“Aren’t you Jasper Kline the biggest CEO in the country?” Mallory asked him.
“I am,” Jasper smiled.
“Thanks for saving out friend,” Sarah said.
“No worries,” Jasper smiled. I shifted a little uncomfortably since I never told them that he was my husband.
“Can we do anything as a small favor? You just saved our best friend’s life,” Sonya said.
“May I accompany you to where you guys are going?” Jasper asked.
“Sure. We were just going to walk around,” I said.
We all started to walk off and I looked up at Jasper. He smiled down at me as he saw me look up at him.
“Thanks for saving my life back there,” I told him.
“Anything for my wife. Where’s your ring?” He asked.
“I didn’t want to put it on. It just seemed weird. Besides, I s£nt you a text,” I told him.
“I got it. I was about to text you back by lucky for me, I ran into you,” Jasper smiled.
“Not creepy at all,” I told him.
“I swear I didn’t know that you were going to be out,” Jasper said.
“I didn’t tell my friends that we were together by the way,” I told him.
“Why?”
“I didn’t know what you meant on don’t tell anyone. You weren’t exactly clear on that,” I told him.
“I just meant on the reason why we nee-d to stay together,” Jasper confirmed with me.
“Better,” I smiled.
We went to a small cafe that wasn’t as busy. I wasn’t really surprised that no one could recognize Jasper since he had sun glas-ses as well as a Dodgers baseball cap.
“Do you guys like know each other?”
Mallory asked us.
“Who us?” I asked motioning towards me and Jasper.
“Yes,” Mallory nodded.
“Well, I’m pretty sure I know my wife,” Jasper said breaking the news to them. I gave him a small look before looking at my friends who stared in shock.
“Seriously?”
I held up my ring and so did he. Mallory and Daisy stared in shock while Sarah and Sonya had shock yet happy expressions.
“Are you guys planning on getting a divorce since this was a drun!kthing?” Sarah asked us.
“Actually, I would like to know my wife a little bit longer before getting a divorce. Who knows, we can be friends in the end,” Jasper told them.
“Well Stella, how do you feel about this?”
“I’m okay with it,” I shrugged.
“Really?” Sonya asked surprised.
“Yeah. He’s right. Maybe we could e friends in the end,” I told them.
“What if you meet someone new?”
“Then we can divorce. No big deal,” I shrugged.
“You both seem surprisingly calm about this,” Mallory said.
“Look, we were all drun!k. It’s not a big deal unless you make it into a big deal,” I told them.
“She’s right,” Jasper agreed.
“Well as long as Stella and Jasper are okay with it, there’s no reason for us to be worried,” Sarah said.
“Thank you.”
