Episode 20
I have being walking for a very long time, darkness seems to have clouded my vision, I can see light coming from a long distance from where i was, I doubled my step, I finally got to the light, everywhere was so bright, this place looks like a deserted place, no tree or house, nothing about it was worth staying a second… I slowly continued my walk, this time around i slowed down, I shouted so loud, probably someb©dy will hear me, although there was no sign of humans in this desert, I was tired, I looked ahead there was a fence far away from where i was, a fence without a gate, but it was a high fence, I can’t see what that was on the other side of the fence, when i finally got to the fence, I couldn’t scale throu-gh, I just stood there not knowing what to do, I started hearing noise coming from afar, I thought it was one person, but they turn out to be crowd, both young and old were coming towards the fence, I was happy that i can finally see people but as they approach, a gate appeared on the fence and automatically open by it self enabling them to pas-s, as i tried to rush to enter throu-gh the gate, it disappears leaving only the tall wall, I tried to talk to someb©dy but they all looked like dummy, looking straight to the gate without turning left or right, they were focused on the gate, nob©dy was talking to anyb©dy, I couldn’t get across like everyone else, I wanted so much to walk across like everyone but the gate always disappear when i get close leaving only the fence, I sat close to the fence watching other people, unknown faces pas-s in uniformity, that was when i realized that i wasn’t on the same uniform like them, and there’s no where to get their kind of uniform, I sat there thinking of what to do
“Uju, what are you waiting for , you are not suppose to be here, who are you looking for on this p@rt, you have being here for so long, is time to take you back to where you belong, get up quic-kly…
As I heard the voice, i quic-kly turned and it was a little girl’s voice, like 8years, standing, she was on white, I didn’t know her, and haven’t seen her before, and why did she call me Uju, how did she know my name
“hey…little one, i tried to cross to the other side but the gate always disappear anytime i get close, but it allow others to pas-s… you are a little girl, where’s your mom… do you also want to pas-s the gate….how do you know my name…?
“no, I’m not a little girl, listen to me, you can’t pas-s to the other side because is not yet your time to do that, all the people pas-sing, is their time to go, ones they crossed throu-gh, they will be directed to the left or right, depending on the p@rt they belong to, there’s no coming back again, if you cross you can’t come back again but I have being s£nt to get you back home, you are being highly favored, plea-se follow me don’t ask questions…. until you are given a go ahead, do you know why you are here, can you tell what happened to you last before you arrived here
I watched the little girl talk like an adult, she was leading me back, we keep going back and pas-sing some people going towards the fence, we walked slowly, going back to a different place from where i c@m£ from, it was still a desert.. I tried to think, I couldn’t remember what happened to me last before I found myself here, so I shaked my head, to show i can’t remember anything, I only remember walking down this p@rt, I don’t know how i got here or what lead to it,

I was quiet for some time as we walked slowly, I have thousand and one question i want to ask the little girl but she said i can only ask just three, so i asked her the first one that’s bothering me
“(1) who poisoned me?
“Ekeoma, your friends mother, Ada knows nothing about it, she does not know the evil intent of her mother, Ekeoma felt bad for everything happening around you, your mother taking the car to the women’s meeting broke the last stro-ke for her, she was envious, she use to be a good person but she allowed envy and jealousy took control of her, forgive her if you go back, call her and apologize to her, don’t wait for her apologise it will break her down and speak to no one about it, let me show you how she put the poison in your food…
The little girl opened my eyes from when the women c@m£ back, Ada’s mum has asked Ada who was sitting and enjoying her food who owns the food beside her she told her is for me and asked her if she wants to eat. She replied with a no’ she did a silent incantation before b!owing the substance like powder form off, as if she was b!owing dirt’s from her hand, the little girl also opened my eyes to when she got the poison from a native Doctor Who instructed her on how to go about it, she showed how the native doctor will die immediately he hears that i survived his poison, because nob©dy survived his powerful poison, he will die by Thun-der strike in front of his shrine,
“(2) will i still get married to Victor?
“yes, you are destined to be together, you will be a light to your community throu-gh him, and you will have sons then daughters, your last daughter will be named after you, victor’s mum is a praying woman, she is pres£ntly interceding for you, there’s alot of battle humans fight spiritually, you can’t win this battle with your fist but with your knees in constant prayer because what you don’t know maybe killing you silently, remember the spiritual control the physical don’t joke whenever you are on your knee, that’s your battle field,
“(3) who stole the money I brou-ght home from the club?
“your friends, Ada and Abimbola, Ada knew that you didn’t return the money back to the manager to she called Abimbola to pretend to be asleep, Abimbola was pretending to be asleep as you hide the money, she saw you hide it and told Ada when she c@m£ back, she quic-kly re-moved it while you sle-pt, and put into her handbag, you saw them rushing out in the morning but you were too naive to think they can do that, they rented an ap@rtment with the money, they later regretted their actions, Ada still felt bad, having guilty conscience everyday, she want to tell you how sorry she was for doing such , but scared you will hate her and throw her out.
Why are you telling me all this and how did you know about it all, you are but a little girl
“I said just three questions and you have done that no more question, you are given another chance to forgive to love and to help, don’t allow hate to win over love, forgive those who nee-d to be forgiven and love without limit, leave vengeance to Your creator who knows and sees all things, let him be the judge of mankind, don’t let the world knows the evil others has done to you, because you yourself have wrong your creator many times and in different ways and yet he forgive and loved you unconditionally, go from here at this moment… this place is not for you, you have alot to do on the other side, make it right when you still have the chance because this opportunity is not given to everyb©dy , make good use of yours and never st©p being good because it is your good deed that speaks for you , fight your battle on your knees and leave vengeance for God.. Goodbye my child.
I turned to look at the little girl calling me her child , but she Has changed to an elderly woman, very old woman, that was covered up with wrinkles, I blink to be sure I’m seeing well, she wasn’t there again , she disappeared.
Episode 21
I sneezed loudly, and awaken, there were tubes on every p@rt of my b©dy, my mouth was on tube, they were all plugged into a machine close to my be-d, victor was the first person i saw, shock was written on his face as he was screaming “doctor she’s awake” the doctor c@m£ in with a rush, a nurse was also with him, they began checking me from head to toe, even open my eyes wi-de and my mouth too , pu-lling a torchlight into my mouth, he waved his hand to my eyes asking me if i can see him, it was a funny question so i smiled and nodded, as he was still checking, mama c@m£ in and rushed to my be-dside but doctor asked her to hold on, followed by big mummy, everyone was talking, laughing and praising God, victor was stuck beside me watching the doctor work on me, I knew i was fine, no pain or weakness, I was okay, I wanted to tell the man to st©p all this checking but i relaxed and let him do his job, after sometime he pursed and was staring at me like I’m some sort of a puzzle he couldn’t solve, he later said as he turned to the people around
“I have never seeing anything like this in my life, the poison has eaten her liver and darkened her inside, I told you all she may not survive this, she was 5percent on survival but Mr Victor you wanted her to be placed on life support, I actually did not want to agree with you because i saw Slim chance of surviving , you told me after this week if there’s still no improvement i can re-move the life support….but here she is, no trace of any deadly poison, nothing spoilt, her liver is still intact.. Wow…wow…this is beyond me to decipher, I can’t explain it…I really can’t…
I watched and listened to the doctor talk, he can’t un-derstand it, I’m the only one that can un-derstand what happened, doctor later left after unplugging the tubes from my b©dy, big mummy was praising God with mama,
after sometime they left, leaving me and victor for some privacy, he sat beside me looking at me, his eyes were not bright, both swollen probably from lack of sleep, I begin to wonder how long i have being in a hospital but victor k!$$£d my forehead and then my hands and then said with an angry face
“don’t ever do this to me again, you gave everyone a scare, I don’t know what i would have done if you haven’t survive, how will this world be for me without you in it, everyone has being praying for you, mom has being fasting and praying, your mum hasn’t being herself, she has followed us with tears in her eyes as we move from hospital to hospital, other hospitals will just look at you and said you are as good as dead, you have being in a coma for weeks and every normal person will certainly give up on you, this is our family hospital, that was why we begged the doctor not to turn us back…
“oh mine, how long have i being in coma, and where’s this place ….
“this week will make it complete five weeks, Uju….Uju, God brou-ght you back to me, I can’t thank him enough…we are in Abuja, the last and only place they didn’t turn us back, they said the poison is very deadly, and has destroyed your intestine, We arrested some people that c@m£ to your house that very day, but no evidence, police re-leased them, Ada was also arrested because she was there according to source, she was there all throu-gh the time you were on the phone with me, is either she was the person that poisoned you or she helped someb©dy who did that, ma-king her an accomplice, police tortured her but she kept on saying she didn’t know… I asked them to leave her and she should pray you survive or she will answer to me…and here you are…thanks be to God, once you are out of this be-d we are getting married..
“it wasn’t Ada that poisoned me, I know what she’s capable of doing but not poisoning me…
“how do you know…anyway, I’m so happy Uju…you are back from the other world, recover quic-kly and leave this be-d so that we can get married…i can’t wait, Zarky is on suspension, because i gave him order to always watch you and guide you but he was busy doing another thing when someb©dy put the deadly thing in your food…welcome back Uju… He was the first to call me from the first hospital they took you and i booked my ticket to east Immediately
I smiled and told him to let Zarky return to work, he should be called back to work because he was doing something for me when it happened… “Yes let’s not del@yany further again, let’s travel down to east and marry traditionally first…nothing will happen to me or anyone, don’t worry about anything God is in charged
I was confirmed OK by the doctor and i left hospital after two days, news has flew to the village that I was fine, i was fit like before, everything went back to normal for me, but no day pas-sed without thinking of my encounter with the little girl, I haven’t seen Ada or her mother, they were in the village and i intend to see them when i travel home
And finally we all traveled, introduction was done, we heard the native doctor died by Thun-der strike in his shrine two days to my traditional wedding,
I personally met Ada’s mum, I went with Zarky to her place, she was shaking and couldn’t utter a reasonable word as she saw me , she knew that i was aware of what she did, I took her by the hand to where we couldn’t be heard and told her that i was sorry for everything I did against her without knowing which led to her poisoning me, I apologized to her repeatedly, it seem crazy apologising to someb©dy that intentionally wanted You dead but i have being instructed I’m what i was supposed to do , she bent down and gr@bb£d my legs , crying bitterly and apologising, I raised her up and hvgged her like i will do to my mother, I felt an inner peace and joy in my heart as i left her place that day, before i left I met with Ada and she said
“I know I did bad things to you, but there’s limit to things i can do Uju, I can’t plan to kill you, I don’t know and still don’t know how the poison got into your food, I was treated as a criminal at the police station…, I didn’t do it plea-se believe me, Uju, and….. there’s something i have being wanting to tell you for long, I know there’s consequences to every action and I’m willing to face mine….the money you picked from the club years back, tha …..
“shhhhh, I know about it alre-ady…don’t speak again, I forgive you and Bibi, and i really mean it…..you are still going to be my Chief brides maid, hope you are getting re-ady for that….
Ada couldn’t utter a word, she wondered how i knew about the money and still flow with her, even as i hvg her she couldn’t respond as she wept, Zarky later drove me back home.
The day c@m£ for my traditional marriage, finally, at last, the long awaited traditional marriage c@m£, I was so happy as me and victor danced like we haven’t danced before,
it was so fun when you are marrying your best friend, pain have no place in my life, I have list of things i want to do after my wedding, all that matters at this moment is I’m very happy and everyone all seem happy too….whatever that’s meant to be will definitely be….
Hold on! I’m not done talking…not yet, a little more and i will hvg you goodbye, but bear with me because today is my day, let me enjoy every bit of today, my traditional marriage is a hit, back to back..I’m dancing like there’s no tomorrow…i will continue my tale by tomorrow.
