Mrs. Brown slowly opened her eyes to see Karan with a gun and Alex laying lifelessly on the floor, turns out she’s the one that shot Alex
“Put it down now and step away,” Mrs. Brown ordered, knowing fully well that her daughter will be charged with homicide
Just when Karan return to her normal position cos she broke free from the rope holding her, the cops came in
They were guarded out of the place and into the already waiting car as they move straight to the hospital
Throu-ghout the way, she keeps remembering everything that happened a few minutes ago

HOSPITAL*
Mrs. Brown was checked by the nurse and one of her squad members was with her
“It’s left for the GPR and everything will be over,” The person with her said
“And my girls? He didn’t…..
“No, he didn’t, they are with your husband and I will call him if you want,” he replied calmly
“No don’t… Don’t call him am fine,” she replied
“Are you sure counselor?” He asked
“Yeah,” she replied
A nurse came toward them
“You’re free to go,” the nurse said
“Did you have a lawyer to represent you or should we arrange one?” He asked and she gave him the puzzled look
“For what? Alex shot him,” she said
“The council wants to take account of what happened, will you be willing to testify?” He added
“And tell them what? Alex shot himself and I see no reason for me to testify,” she replied
“But they still need to hear your own story,” he added gently
“Fine, let’s go then,” she replied and stood up

“Counselor….. counselor,” a member of the council called
“Counselor,” the other called bringing her back from the imaginary world
She turned toward them
“You need a moment?” The first person asked
“No, am Sorry. what….what was the question?” She asked
“Did you at anytime notify anybody before going after Alex?” The first person asked
“I did not, from what Alex told me when he called I know that once he sees backup Olivia and Karan’s life will be in danger,” she replied
“And when you arrive at his location?” The second person asked
“Alex met me, took my gun, handcuffed me before taking me to where my girls were tied up, and then gave me a choice. He said that he can ra-pe me first and Karen second or ra-pe Karan first,” she replied
“And you responded?” The first person asked
“I told him to ra-pe me,” she replied fighting back tears
“Did he ra-pe you, counselor?” The second person asked
A moment of silence prevail as she started seeing the scan again
“Counselor?” The first person called seeing that she was lost in thought
“He did not,” she replied blinking severally
“Why not?” The first guy asked
“Because I decided not to offer any resistance, Alex got off on the struggle, so as soon as I gave up he got bored,” she replied simply
Someone open the Interview door and entered
“Counselor Gina,” one of the people interviewing her called
“I’ve been retained to represent counselor Brown and Gentlemen this interview is over,” Gina said standing by the door
“She’s already consented,” the first person said
“She and I need time to consult and she has 48 hours to make her statement, a-ssuming I get the transcript of whatever happened here today we will see you in 48 hours,” she said walking out and Mrs. Brown followed
They are now walking down the street
“If any of this goes to trial you will have to testify about that confession you made,” Gina said
“Trail?” She asked shocked
“You and I know the law Counselor, you beat Alex up in his office the other time, he said he died three times on his way to the hospital and now he’s dead, and to say that he was shot by his left side instead of the right, you told I.A.B( internal affairs bureau) a different story and your lab results says another thing, I think you need rest,” Gina said
“What did you want me to say? Go in there and tell them that I was ra-pe d by Alex? The same person that ra-pe d my daughter twice when I was in a coma. you have seen a ra-pe victim Gina and you know what they look like, if I didn’t go there he will ra-pe my 15 and 18 years old kids, they will be in pain for the rest of their life, I can’t let them pa-ss throu-ghthat, especially Karan, she’s been throu-gha lot,” she said
“Stop talking,” Gina scolded

THE BROWN HOME*
“I hired the lawyer and she told you that because it’s her job but it’s my job to remind you that you’ve been throu-gha traumatic experience,” Mr. Brown said
They are currently in his study
“Look I know you might think that this is PTSD(post-traumatic stress disorder) but the truth of the matter is that I knew the risk involved, I knew that I could die… It is what it is,” Mrs. Brown replied pacing around
“It was what it was, scarlet, it’s over…
“No it’s not over, he wants me to remember him forever, he wants to be inside my head,” she cut in tapping her head with her hand
“You said wants, you don’t have to do what he wants you to do, sometimes shooting someone is the best option,” her husband said
“he shot himself so that I will have to leave with this image, so I would have to live with this aftermath,” she said and sat down, she then puts her head in her hands
“You don’t have to do what he wants you to do, you’re alive and you’re here but he’s gone,” Mr. Brown replied, trying to make her see reasons with him but it seem not to be working
“Is he? Cos he’s still in my head,” she stood up and left

NEXT DAY*
Mrs. Brown could be seen with the members of the council as they question her
“Counselor try to put your story together, look we are not against Alex being dead but we want to know what happened, maybe there was a struggle for the gun and you shot him to save your life and your girl’s life,” the first person asked
“That’s not what happened, Alex shot himself,” she replied
“Both your DNA is on the gun, your fingerprints are all over the gun, was there a mistake and you shot him,” the second person asked
“Alex shot himself, He deliberately switched hands,” she replied
“And we are prepared to confirm that but if we do this may not go away, the new D.A( district attorney) Might look into this and think your squad is covering you cos they all are on your side,” The first person asked
She was silent
“Gina, did you want to talk to your client?”The first person said
“No, we’re fine, am not going to admit to justifiable homicide,” She replied
“Okay, we will present your story to the D.A, you might risk jail time so I will advise you to tell another story now,” the Second person said
“Was there a struggle for the gun and you shot him cos that’s the case we can close,” The second person asked
“That’s not what happened, Alex shot himself,” she replied, still standing on her ground
“Okay, Good luck to you counselor,” The first person said

THE BROWN HOME*
Olivia was in her room when she received a ma-ssage, she looked out throu-ghthe window to see River outside
She quickly runs down in fear
“What in the name of spaghetti are you doing here? didn’t I tell you not to come to my house?” She asked instantly looking around as if being watched by someone
“What kind of a being are you? I was only trying to be a gentleman that’s why I came,” he replied
“Why are you here?” She asked
“You didn’t come to school so I didn’t have anybody to gossip with and my brother is still missing, that’s why I decided to come so that you will keep me company,” he replied
“Not right now, everything is falling apart in my house right and you have to live,” she said
“You’re the one that should live, besides I didn’t come to see you,” he said and walked past her going into their house

“The jury that Alex is sleeping with testified against me,” Mrs. Brown said as she walked into her husband’s study
“And yet you want to be hard! Just testify,” Mr. Brown said
“If I tell the grand jury that my confession to the council was a lie they will like to know what happened which I don’t want to talk about, and if I tell them the truth then I perjure myself, either way, Alex wins,” she replied
“He’s dead and you’re Alive so are our kids, now this trap you’re into he didn’t trick you into it, you choose to walk into it why?” Mr. Brown said
“Because I know what he will do to my girls,” she replied and sat down
“you think I can’t fight for myself but I can only fight for others,” she asked when he said nothing
“You have been fighting for yourself for a very long time scarlet, it’s time to let Alex go,” Mr. Brown said
She was silent
“I killed him, mom didn’t want to testify cos she can’t lie un-der an oath and she didn’t want me to go to jail,” Karan said by the door
Mr. Brown looked at his wife and then at his little girl with a confused look
“What else are you lying about scarlet?” he asked staring at her
She knows she can’t hide anymore
“He ra-pe d me,” she replied gently
Everyone was silent
“Am I going to jail?” Karan asked when she noticed the silence
“No, never…not when I’m still your mother,” Mrs. Brown said
“But mom…..
“No, but, you still have many things to live for, jail is not for you… I will go instead, don’t ever tell anyone that you shot Alex cos they will ask you, just say every other part and skip the ra-pe and killing part, okay?” Mrs. Brown said
“Mom, are you going to jail?” Eddy asked walking into the room
“I heard jail,” River said by the door and all eyes turn to him
“Why is everyone staring at me as if am in the wrong house?” He said and frown
