I never in my life thought that this day would come,i was beyond speechless,the person who happens to be my mother is standing right in front of me after so many years.
Memories of the night she left me with my then sober dad c@m£ rushing,along with the anger.
“What.the. hell.are.you.doing here?” I said so slowly but with anger.
She tried to come close to me but i backed away.
“Wait..hold up,are you trying to hvg me?”
Is she being serious right now? She is trying to hvg me like she doesn’t know how fv¢king angry i am.
“Claribel,my dear,you are so grown up,you..
“Don’t fv¢king call me dear,what are you doing here? After so many years, you finally decided to come back after destroying dad’s life” Adrian held my hands and squee-zed trying to make me calm down.
“No, Adrian, don’t try to calm me down because i can’t calm down,this person standing here can’t just walk into my life like nothing happened”
“Claribel, plea-se i just nee-d you to relax and listen to me,i c@m£ back for you”
“No, you c@m£ back because you were fv¢king tired of selling your b©dy out”
“Claribel” Adrian cautioned me but am not going to listen,she hurt me and am going to make her feel everything i felt.
“I know you are angry at me but i just nee-d you to listen to me,Am sorry, honey,am really sorry”
“Look,Bethel, I have nothing to say to you,go back to whatever sh*t hole you c@m£ out of” She was taken aback by the way I called her by her first name.
She was about to say something when the back door of her car opened and a boy of about 12 years c@m£ out.
“Mom,can i see my step sister now?” He just called her mom, meaning.. oh my goodness
“Is he..is he..
“My son, yes,his name is Trevor and he is my son,your step brother” I scoffed,She can’t be serious.
“Who is the father? Is it Christian?” She nodded positively, Christian was my dad’s best friend and a colleague at work,he was the one who framed my dad up and got him fired.
“Hold up,this child of yours is how old?”
“12”
“12 years ago is the exact time you left us,So you are saying you were alre-ady pregnant while you were still with dad” She nodded slowly,that means my father was right,she cheated on him.
She cheated on him and she’s back here with a fv¢king kid who she claims to be my step brother.
“Dad was right about you, everything he said was true,You are a flithy who-re” i walked back to Adrian’s car and got in.

I have always known that Claribel has alot of hatred for her mother,i just didn’t know that it was so hvge,she practically detests her.
I have never seen her look at someone with so much hatred,i can’t blame her,She had to survive on her own when her abandoned her.
I followed behind as she walked back to the car,I got in and drove off.
Claribel kept looking out the window as i drove back home.
“You know i thought you would be crying by now”
“Am not going to cry because of that skank”
“Claribel, she’s still your mother, don’t call her names” She rolled her eyes at me.
“I can call her whatever i want,Adrian,She left us for some lowlife,so that makes her a skank” I placed my hand on her th!ghs but she pushed it off.
“Don’t t©uçh me,am not in the mood”
“I was just trying to comfort you”
“You can’t, no one can,i nee-d a drink.. There’s a bar not far from us, I want to go there”
“No,i can’t let you start drinking”
“Well,i want to, it’ll help me forget everything”
“For only today, when you get sober, the memories will still be there, Claribel, Don’t be like your father” She sighed and ran her f!ngersthrou-gh her hair.

“Are you going to talk to her?” Shannon asked as i was taking my books from my locker.
“No,never,she should go back to her precious family because there’s no way in hell that I will talk to her”
“I just..i don’t know think you should at least know why she left” I slammed my locker very ha-rd earning attention from other people
“She was fv¢king my father’s best friend while she was still with my dad, that’s why she left”
Shannon was about to say something when i heard someone call me.
“Claribel” I turned around and it was the sl-ut with the school’s security guard.
“What in fv¢ks name are you doing here?”
“To talk to you”
“Are you dumb or you are just pla-ying stupid”
“Claribel,St©p” Shannon said but i fli-pped her off.
“Don’t you see that am in school and how did you know i attend this school?”
“I did my research”
“Of course,you did..now get out”
“Claribel, plea-se,i..
“I don’t want to hear it”
“Miss Johnson, She said she’s your mother,is that true?” The security guard asked.
“That is not true,Sir..We might want to look alike but she’s not my mother,my mom died a long time ago” I walked away leaving Shannon behind.
She lost every right to be my mother that day she left me.

😍 Adrian’s P.o.v😍
Claribel has been so distant and cold towards everyone,I know she’s hurt by everything but i don’t really support her saying so many harsh things to her mom.
I got back from pla-ying basketball with Isaac,i was about to enter my house when I saw someone.
“How did you find my house?” She walked closer to me holding a book in her hand.
“I followed Claribel without her knowing”
“Well,if you are here to see her,am sorry but am sure she won’t want to see you”
“I know,i c@m£ to talk to you, I want you to listen”
“Okay,fine”
“Thank you,i know you probably hate me for leaving Claribel”
“I don’t hate you,am just worried about her, She’s cold as ice and so distant ever since you arrived”
“I just really nee-d my daughter back,i nee-d for her to love me again”
“It will have to take time,i mean you left her to survive on her own for 12 years, you can’t expect her to love you back immediately”
“That’s why i nee-d her to listen to my explanation, I know my little angel is still in here,i nee-d your help,i nee-d her to attend a dinner with my family”
“A dinner? That’s almost impossible,Claribel won’t come”
“She loves you and listens to you,i know you can convince her” i sighed and looked around.
“Fine,i will try but don’t expect anything” She smiled wi-dely,She and Claribel look so much alike.
“I nee-d you to give her this” She handed me the book she c@m£ with.
“What’s this?”
“Her favorite book from when she was little, plea-se give it to her”

Immediately she left,i walked into the house to meet Claribel cooking something in the kitchen.
She had her hair packed in a messy bun,the way her jeans brings out her curvaceous h!ps, sometimes i thank God for giving her to me.
I dropped the book on the kitchen counter,i went behind her without her noticing and i hvgged her,She was startled at first but calmed down.
“Gosh,you scared me” i k!$$£d her cheeks.

“I love you, am ma-king lunch,go upstairs and freshen so that we can eat and oh, your mom went out with Robert”

“I don’t know but your mom acted like a teenager in love” i rolled my eyes while she giggled.
“Old people love, digusting” She swatted my arm with a small towel.
“It’s not digusting, it’s beautiful and they fit perfectly” i race upstairs not wanting to hear her gush over my mom’s love life.

“Your mom gave it to me”
“I alre-ady told you not to call her my mom and how did she give you? Did you go find her?”
“No,she was at the entrance of the house, apparently she followed you”

“Don’t say it,Claribel,i told you not to call her names, regardless of everything she has done, she’s still your mother”
“She’s not my mother,She abandoned me at the age of six,a mother won’t do that”
“She’s trying to explain herself to you and you don’t want to listen”
“So you are on her side now,am your girlfriend,you should be defending me”
“There are no sides here,Claribel,your mom is back and she wants to explain why she left,For several days,she has been trying to talk to you”
“And for 12 years,she left me to suffer,she can’t just walk into my life like nothing happened and worse with a kid she claims to be my step brother,No, Adrian,am not going to accept it.
All i ask for is that she should leave me the hell alone”
“Well, that’s not possible,She asked me to invite for dinner at her house”
“Forget am not going,am not going to go there and be pitied by her ridiculous family”
“You are acting like a spoilt br@t,She wants a chance with you”
“Why do you talk about her like you know her so well?”
“I don’t know her but I know she really wants you to listen to her”
“Oh,You are fv¢king her behind my back” She muttered un-der her breath but I heard her.
“What did you say?”
“I said what you heard,She might be into younger guys”
“You keep your mouth shut,You have crossed the line,how could ever think your mom could do something like that”
“A woman that can cheat on her husband can do anything”
“So you are saying that you don’t trust me too,we have been together for almost 3 years, Claribel and you could think something like that of me” I picked up my car keys and jacket
“Where the hell are you going to?”
“Somewhere away from you, if you keep acting this way, everyone in your life will leave you… including me” I walked out the door and slammed it.

“Mom..mom, what’s going on? Why is dad yelling at you?” A six year old Claribel asked.
Bethel, Claribel’s mother was crying as she packed her bag in a haste,She kept moving around the room to take the things she nee-ds and as she moved,Claribel followed her.
Claribel started crying,Bethel squ-atted to her level and hvgged her.
“Mom,are you leaving me?”
“No,am not leaving you,i just nee-d you to hide in the wardrobe over there”
“But why?”
“Because i don’t want anything to happen to you,hide in there and i will come get you soon,okay?” Claribel smiled at her mom and nodded,she quic-kly ran into the wardrobe and hid herself.
She stayed there for so long and even sle-pt off in it,She woke up and realized she was still in the wardrobe,so she c@m£ out.
She walked downstairs and saw her dad on the phone with someone,he was yelling.
“Dad” She called in a tender voice,Peter turned around and was shocked to see her.
“What..what the hell are you still doing here? I thought she took you with her”
“Dad, where’s my mommy?”
“Your who-re of a mother left you,She doesn’t love you that’s why she left”
“That’s a lie”
“She left you and you nee-d to accept it,She doesn’t love you”
Claribel ran around the house crying,She looked for her mother but she couldn’t find her.

I keep dreaming about that night, I can’t seem to forget it.
Adrian’s not back yet and it’s so late at night, The front door opened,i stood up to check who it was,It was Adrian’s mom.
“Why are you alone? Where’s Adrian?”
“He…he left the house,We had a fight”
“But it’s so late,have you called him?”
“Yes,but he doesn’t want to pick up”
“Let me try” She got out her phone and called Adrian,he answered immediately.
She talked with me for a few minutes before ending the call.
“He said he’s staying over at Isaac’s place and he doesn’t want you calling him all night” I sighed and ran my hand throu-gh my hair.
“What happened between you two?” I started telling everything from the day Bethel c@m£ back to my life,how she tried to talk to me but i declined and my pres£nt fight with Adrian.
“Are you on her side too.. Bethel’s side?”
“There are no sides here,i know how hurt you are about everything,how she left you but you can at least talk to her”
“No one un-derstands me,i have a whole lot of anger in me,that if i don’t vent it out,i will explode”
“Calling your mom names and fighting with your b©yfri£ndwon’t help with your anger, talking with your mom will”

THE NEXT DAY.
It was early the next day when i was woken up by a sound,i was in Adrian and i room.
“Sh*t” I heard Adrian say,i turned the light on and there he was.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah,i just hit my leg on the chair,go back to sleep” He walked over to the couch next to be-d
“Aren’t you slee-ping on the be-d with me?”
“No,am staying on the couch”
“If you are still angry at me,then let me sleep on the couch,you come to the be-d”
“Am not doing that,Go to be-d,Claribel”
“But…” He turned off the light and sle-pt on the be-d.

I woke up to see Claribel arranging the be-dsheets,She looked at me but i looked away.
Even though i really want to go over to her and hvg her so ti-ght, I can’t because she nee-ds to know that she hurt me.
“Good morning” She said,i stood up and pu-ll-ed my shi-t over my head.
I was heading to the bathroom when Claribel hvgged me from behind.
“Am sorry, plea-se don’t give me a cold shoulder,am sorry” I sighed and turned around to hvg her properly
“Am not angry..anymore,i just don’t want us to fight anymore,I love you,Claribel,i love you so fv¢king much and i want the best for you”
“I know and am sorry i said those nas-ty things to you, that’s why i have come to a conclusion”
“Which is?”
“I will go to that dinner tonight..with you,of course”
“Really? You will talk to your mom?”
“Yes,i will talk to her,i owe myself that” I pu-ll-ed away slightly to look at her face.
“She’ll be so happy, thanks”
“Since we are good now,how about we shower together” I chuckled as she pu-ll-ed me with her into the bathroom.
