I woke up with a very painful headache,i ru-bbe-d my head but the pain was still there.
I stood up from the be-d and realized that i wasn’t in my room,i looked around and noticed it was Adrian’s room.
The door opened and he walked in wearing a grey hoodie and black sweatp@n-ts with a black beanie.
“You are awake, thank goodness” he said as he walked closer to me.
“What happened? How did i get here?”
“You were seriously drun!kthis afternoon and i brou-ght you here.
I saw you at the garden, drinking a bottle of vodka”
“Wait..so it wasn’t a dream, you and i really talked at the garden”
“Yeah,did you think you were dreaming”
“Yeah,i mean..you forgive me?”
“Of course, Claribel, you are my friend and i forgive you” He said and i smiled wi-dely.
“Thanks”
I tried to stand up but i felt a sharp pain on my head.
“You might want to sit down for a while,you are having a hangover”
“Thanks but i really nee-d to take a shower and some pain killers”
“Damnit,i completely forgot that you might want to take a shower and i didn’t bring any of your clothes”
“It’s okay, I could just go back home”
“Claribel, it’s 11:53pm,am not letting you go out this late”
“So what do i wear?”
He went over to his wardrobe and brou-ght out a black hoodie.
“You can wear my hoodie, it’s a little bit short”
“It’s okay,i will manage”
😍 Adrian’s P.o.v😍
She took the hoodie and walked into the bathroom,i heard the water running.
I went downstairs to get her food and painkillers.
“Look at the way you are smiling” My mom said and pinched my cheek.
“St©p it,mom,am no longer a kid”
“You are blu-shing alre-ady just by taking care of her”
“She’s my friend”
“Tell me something,have you ever wanted her to be more than your friend?”
“…No,of course not”
“You took time to answer me that means you are lying”
“Am not lying,mom,Claribel is just my friend and if you don’t mind,am taking this food over to her”
I took the stairs back to my room,i knocked in case she is dressing up.
“Come in” i heard her say,i walked in and the food almost fell from my hand.
Claribel’s hair was we-t and it rested so well on her face,my hoodie didn’t even cover her th!ghs,her legs were so sp©tless.
“Adrian!” She called out jo-lting me out of my thoughts.
“Um..sorry,i brou-ght your food and some pain killers”
“Thanks”
I set the food and scratched the back of my n£¢k.
“Why are you nervous?” She asked as she started eating.
“How do you know that am nervous?”
“You always scratch the back of your n£¢k when you are nervous,so tell me why you are nervous”
“It’s.. it’s nothing”
“Sit down and eat with me”
She dragged me to the be-d and started feeding me and herself.
We talked and laughed about alot of things.

Before i went to school,i went over to Shannon’s house,i really nee-d her to forgive me.
I knocked on the door and micheal,her big brother opened the door for me.
“Claribel” He called out.
“You no longer call me little one?” I asked and he sighed.
“I know Shannon told you about our fight and how i called her a bit-ch, that’s why am here to apologise”
“Okay,come in.. Little one” He said and we chuckled together.
I walked in and Shannon was with her mom,she was getting re-ady for school.
“What’s she doing here?”She said as she saw me.
“Shannon,am sorry,am really sorry,i didn’t mean anything i said,i was just..just envious”
“Envious of who?”
“Of you,of Adrian,of everyone who had a happy family,i let the anger consume me,am sorry”
She walked closer and put her hand on my shoulder.
“You can sl@p me if you want to” i said and she giggled.
“No,i won’t do that but i want you to promise me something”
“Anything”
“First,i want to apologise for calling your mom a who-re,am de-eply sorry”
“It’s okay,i forgive you”
“Now,i want you to promise me that you will retake all those tests you failed and bring your grades higher”
“I promise”
We hvgged each other.
“Aww,i want to get in on this hvg too”Micheal said and hvgged us, Shannon’s mom also joined in.

💖 Claribel’s P.o.v💖
After i and Shannon reconciled,we went to school together.
“So where’s Adrian?” She asked as we walked throu-gh the hallway.
“I don’t know, he just dropped me off and left”
“Maybe he is with Isaac”
“Who’s with me?” Isaac asked as he approached us.
“Is Adrian not with you?”
“No,but i saw him with a girl”
“A girl? I and Shannon asked at the same time.
Why does the fact that Adrian is with a girl makes me feel somehow.
“Yeah,they are in the school field”
“Am going over there”i saidamd walked away immediately.
I don’t even know why am getting woked up over it.
I walked over to the school field,some guys were alre-ady whistling at me but i ignored them.
I got to the field and sp©tted Adrian with the girl,they were sitting so close to each other on the bench.
I stood at a reasonable distance from them so that i won’t be seen,she had long dark hair and her skin was white.
Adrian held her hand and said something that made her laugh.
I walked away and went to clas-s.

“So did you talk to him?” Shannon asked as we sat down facing each other at the cafeteria.
“No,why would i?”
“What do you mean by that? He’s your friend”
“I don’t know anymore, he seems to be so interested in that girl” i said and Shannon started laughing.
“What’s funny?”
“Your jealous face,you sound like an old jealous woman who just found out that her husband goes after young girls”
She kept laughing and i throw my French fries at her.
“Shut up”
Shannon was about to say something when Adrian c@m£ over with his food,he sat beside me.
“Heyy,i see you two are friends again, that’s nice”
“Yeah,we settled things, how are you, Adrian?”
“Good,very good actually”
Why wouldn’t he feel so good?
He hasn’t even told me about the girl, unbelievable.
We kept talking about random things when the girl from the field walked over to us.
“Hey, Everyone” She said and she sat beside Shannon smiling so wi-dely.
“Hi” Shannon and I said simultaneously.
“Am Mabel,am new here”
“Sure you are,am guessing yoi have seen the whole school, especially the field” i blurted out.
Why in hell did i just say that?
Shannon gave me an “are you for real” Look.
“Yeah, Adrian over here showed me around”
She looked at him so much admiration,her eyes sparkling.
I wish i could just pluck her eyes out and feed it to her.
I think i nee-d a time out,i can’t believe am having such thought towards someone.
“You and Adrian seem so close” Shannon said ma-king Mabel giggle, I resisted the urge to roll my eyes
“Yes,we are really really close”
“Yeah, Mabel is the best” Adrian said as he stole French fries from Mabel’s plate.
I can’t believe my eyes,he always takes from my plate,now he is eating off the plate of some girl who looks like snow white.
They started to fight over the last piece of French fries,i looked away and focused on my food.

FEW HOURS LATER.
“Got any plans this afternoon?” Adrian asked me as we walked out of the school building.
School was over and i had to spend the last hours trying not to look at Mabel amd Adrian.
“I have to re-ad for my tests i have to retake”
“Oh, that’s right, you nee-d to get your grades up”
“Yeah, I know”
“Adrian,you re-ady?” Mabel asked as she walked up to us,this time around i rolled my eyes.
“Is something wrong, Clarissa?”
“Nothing is wrong and my name is Claribel not Clarissa”
“Same thing”
“It’s not the fv¢king….you know what, forget it,i nee-d to go home”
“You nee-d a ride?” Adrian asked.
“No,i will ride with Shannon, bye” i said and walked away.
I really wanted to ride with Adrian,ever since we fought,we haven’t gotten the chance to sing along to songs on the radio as he takes me home.
Now he is carrying Mabel in his car.
I got to Shannon’s car and got in.
“I thought you always ride with Adrian” Shannon asked as she saw me.
“Not this time, He’s with Mabel”
“Claribel, I know that face,you have alot of things to say right now so let’s go to my house,okay?”
“Yeah,fine” I said and she zoomed out of the school premises.

“Clary, would you plea-se st©p looking at yourself in the mirror” Shannon asked but i ignored her as i kept looking at myself.
We were in her room and i was looking at myself in her mirror.
“Shannon,do you think am beautiful?”
“Is that even a question? You are extremely beautiful and so S-xy, every guy wants you”
“Every guy except Adrian” I muttered un-der my breath.
“What did you say?”
“Nothing just forget it”
“You said something about Adrian,Claribel, you are seriously jealous of the fact that Mabel is with Adrian”
“No,am not”
“Yes, you are and you know what it means..it means that you have feelings for Adrian”
“No,no,i don’t have feelings for him..i just..i just..i don’t even know”
“Claribel, you love him,you love Adrian”
I sighed and ran my hand throu-gh my hair.
“I don’t know what love feels like so am not going to dwell on whatever i feel,i really don’t want to ruin my relationsh!pwith him”

The next day.
Adrian and I were taking a walk in the evening.
“So..how do you see Mabel?” Adrian asked.
“She’s okay if she tries to remember that my name is Claribel not Clarissa” i said and he chuckled.
“You don’t like her?”
“Am supposed to since you two are so close”
He walked closer to me and held my hands,We starred at each other for a while,his hands went to my face as he re-moved the strands of hair and tucked it at the back of my ear.
“Can i tell you something?” He asked as he ca-ressed my cheek.
“Yeah”
“I just want to tell you that i find you really attrac-tive..i mean i find you really beautiful” He said and i couldn’t help but blus-h.
This is what i want,for Adrian’s attention to be all mine,I want to be the only woman ap@rt from his mom that has his full attention.
I was about to say something when his phone rings.
“Hold on a sec” He said as he brou-ght out his phone.
“It’s Mabel”
I scoffed and started walking fas-ter leaving him behind but he managed to catch up.
“So what did she say?” I asked immediately he ended the call.
“That i should pick her up at 7:30 tomorrow”
“For what?”
“We are going to the movies tomorrow”
“Really now?”
“Yeah,we are watching Rise of the Guardians”
“But we alre-ady watched it and you said you hated it because you think Jack Frost was stupid”
“I know but i couldn’t say no,she made this cute face that i possibly couldn’t say no,you won’t if you saw her face too”
I wouldn’t say no,i would use my shoe to sma-ck her in the face then say no, ridiculous.
“Why didn’t you even tell me?”
“I wanted to but i remembered that you are having your test tomorrow”
“True but at least i deserved to know”
“Am sorry,baby girl”
I smiled as he called me baby girl,i don’t see myself ever staying angry at him.
“Tell me something, Adrian..What am i to you?”
“You are my friend”
“Just a friend?”
“Sorry,i mean close friend”
“If am your close friend,what is Mabel to you?”
“My special friend” he said and i immediately re-moved my hand from his grip,then started walking fas-ter.
He ran after me and held my wrist.
“What?” I snapped at him.
“Did i say something wrong?”
Is he seriously asking me that right now?
“No,you said nothing wrong, I just want to go home,am tired”
“Okay, let’s go”
All throu-gh our walk home,i avoided physical contact with me so that i won’t feel those sparks.

“Claribel,my darling, you are loosing it,i swear” Shannon said as we headed to clas-s.
“No,am not,am just being safe”
“pla-ying safe with your feelings isn’t good”
“Okay, Shannon,st©p with the feelings stuff,i really don’t want to hear it, plea-se”
“Okay,fine”
We walked into the clas-s and Mabel was sitting on my sit beside Adrian, they were laughing.
They both waved at me but i ignored them and sat somewhere else.
After clas-s,i walked out immediately, I was almost at my locker when strong arms pu-lls me to turn around.
It was Adrian,i quic-kly re-moved my hand from his grip.
“What’s your damn problem?” He asked and i scoffed.
“I don’t have a problem”
“Yes,you do,you have been acting strange since Mabel arrived here”
“No, that’s not true”
He tried to t©uçh me but i moved away.
“Okay,so now you are on a no tou-ching policy”
“Adrian, I have to go,i have three tests to do so bye” i said and walked away.
I shouldn’t be angry that he has another person, another female friend but i can’t help it.
I just want him to have only me as his female friend.

THE NEXT DAY.
Today is Saturday, meaning Adrian is going for his daily check up at the hospital.
I was running a little bit late but i was determined to go,even though i didn’t speak to him for a while,i still nee-ded to be there for him.
I took a cab to the hospital,i walked into the waiting room, expecting to see Adrian and his mom.
I was re-ading the hospital magazine until I heard a familiar giggle, I looked up and it was Adrian,his mom..and Mabel.
You have got to be fv¢king kidding me right now.
“Claribel” Adrian’s mom said as she saw me.
Adrian and Mabel looked at me.
“I thought you weren’t coming” Adrian spoke up.
I moved closer to them.
“You are my friend,Adrian and I would be there for you but now I think you have alre-ady replaced me”
“Replaced you how?”
“Adrian,You act like everything is okay but it’s not,you don’t give me attention anymore,i no longer ride with you in your car and now you bring her for your check ups, seriously?
I thought i was the only person who followed you here,it took you months to tell me your conditions but for her, it’s only a week, unbelievable.
And i thought i was soevial to you but now i know am not”
“Yes,you are” He said and held my hands.
“No,am not,st©p lying to me,Mabel is obviously your special friend”
“Claribel,you have got it all wrong”
“No, i haven’t,You have replaced me with her, that’s what’s up”
“No,Claribel,Mabel is just my cousin” He said and i looked at him with my eyes wi-den.
“Your what?”
“She’s my cousin”
