Days flew to weeks and weeks to months..
No news about Daniel was heard..
It seems he has forgotten everything about her ..
Nma had cried till her tears ran dry …
Missing him terribly and desperately wanting to be with him but anytime she tries his line , it goes straight to voicemail..
She sat on her be-d in a de-ep thought..
Well today made it exactly one year since he left and sadly enough..
She will be saying bye-bye to her dear room.
Remembering their moments together in that room, she sighed..
” still thinking about him?”
She heard her mother’s voice waking her up from ocean of thoughts..
” what can I do mama?..
I still miss him ma..
I love him so much”
Her voice shook ..
” its okay my daughter..
Now that you have gotten admission..
It will give you time and space to forget him and focuse on your future… ”
Mama said as she placed her palms on her cheeks wiping tears..
She sobbe-d louder as mama wiped her cheeks, no matter how much she tries , she can’t seems to forget him..
After he left , she spent the rest of the year wallowing in pain ..
Refusing to adhere to the advice of mama to go out and create meaning in her life..
Life is nothing without Daniel..
She isolated herself from everyone except Onyinye ..
Onyinye too herself had gotten married which gave her no option than to listen to her mother..
She picked jamb form and as fate would have it , she got admission to re-ad Economics..
Though her dream course was medicine but she changed it because Daniel wanted to re-ad Economics..
What kept her going this far was the love she has for him..

She cried the more..

Looking at her daughter, she felt so fulfilled as a mother..

The following morning after she’s throu-gh with her breakfast, she got re-ady to embark on the most important journey that determines her future..
Mama c@m£ to her room and saw her combing her long thick hair..
She has refused to plait the hair ..
” I don’t know the reason why you’re so stubborn..
Plait your hair…
You refused ..
What’s wrong with you young lady ”
Mama queried..
She chuckled at the s-en-se of her humor..
” mommy.

” I hear you miss graduation ”
Mama added sacarstically and Nma bur-sts into an uncontrollable laughter..

Its not graduation but graduate..

” it’s okay mama..
I will be leaving now and guess I will be back on Saturday to see my beautiful mother ”
She said and oh gracious..
The smiles on mama’s face was priceless at that moment..
” yes you’re right..
Today is Tuesday and I will expecting you very soon ..
Go and make me proud ..

Her voice broke ..
Mama sniffed , using the edge of her wra-pper to wipe a tear that’s threatening to escape her eyes..
Nma noticed her change of mood and moved closer to her..
” mama..

You will miss me and I swear I have alre-ady started missing you..

She as-sured
” okay my daughter..

She let out a warming smile , hvgging her as if she would soon disappear forever..
It only by the grace of God that she’s able to resist S-xual advances from her fellow male students..
She’s certainly a chick in the boys eyes..
Anytime they approached her, she would humbly turn them down in a way that they wouldn’t think of hurting her..
That’s one thing she had learned from her mother..
And besides the love she has for Daniel wouldn’t let her to be with anyone else..
At times, she keeps on wondering how he’s faring..
Does he still think about her?..
Is he missing her like she does?..
Certainly, nothing would ever make her to love another.
Daniel is her life ..
Daniel decided to return to Nigeria on Thursday the same week instead of Friday..
His immediate Elder sisters wedding is on Saturday and he wouldn’t want to miss of it..
Nanny Grace was so happy when he arrived..
Christine was more excited ..
Its been a year since he traveled and the whole family couldn’t hide their excitement..

At that Moment, his mind drifted to Nma..
He surely misses her and maybe he will pay her a friendly visit..
On Sunday evening, after the wedding he payed her a surprised visit..
She was packing out the washed clothes when she sighted a flashy car drove into her compound..
Who could it be?
She wondered as she stared anxiously at the car..
The car opened and to her surprise , she saw Daniel walked majestically out of the car..
Oh my God!!!..
Is this for real ?”
Her inner mind screamed.
It took all her will power for her not to ran into his arms..
God!..
He looks so breath taking..
She stood speechlessly watching him until he c@m£ closer..
The clothes she was holding dropped to the ground..
The first thing he did s£nt goose bu-mps to her b©dy..
He threw his arms around her and embr@ced her ti-ghtly..

She broke free from the ti-ght embr@ce and gently push him away..
Trying her best to put her emotions in check..
She breathed heavily and faced him squarely..
” what are you doing here?”
She faked a frown.
But de-ep down her heart , she’s dying to hold him , k!sshim and get drun!kin his love..
She has missed him terribly..
And God!..
He looks more handsome..
She could see beards sprouting out of his cheeks ..
And gracious !..
That eyes of his !!!..
She could kill to have him stare at her all day.
Oh no!!..
She nee-ds an explanation and probably an apology too..
His looks won’t hinder any of these..

He asked with a sm-irk tugging at the corners of hisl-ips..

He has missed it so much..

He couldn’t help his beating heart and the bu-tterfly in his stomach that has gone on rampage..

She said and he hopped inside the car but on a second thought, he stepped out again..

He said and finally started the car..

She barked and Nma couldn’t help her tears.

He hummed happily as he entered the mansion and met the entire family seated and having dinner including Christine and his father..

That’s what friends does for each other..

Christine’s mischievous voice rang out from the other end..

He asked not ma-king an effort to get up from the be-d coolval stories..

It was Esther speaking this time..

We shall all talk tomorrow cos I know that Christine must have said something..

Sandra yelled kicking the door ..
But it all fell on deaf ears..
They angrily went away..

He muttered amused at their little effort to trouble ..
He picked his phone to call Nma but he sighed in frustration when he remembered that he doesn’t have her contact..
” it was so stupid of me not to have your contact..
I really wants to hear your voice ”
He sighed heavily and closed his eyes..
Bring his mind to focus on the only woman that made his heart jingles..
His goddess..
His lover..
His girlfriend and perhaps his wife to be..
The mere thought of her being his wife takes his breathe away..
He just couldn’t wait any longer..
