⚜️ CHAPTER 7⚜️

⭕ AKIRA ⭕

After Mei and Vanna helped me with cleaning my face, I thanked them and laid on the bed with my hands folded on my belly.

I stared at the Ceiling remembering how Prince Arjun came to my rescue when I was in the room.

How his words always sooth my pain. I smiled as soon as I remembered the statement he made before hu-gging me.

“You are not staying away from me and I am not hating you.”

Though he is nice to everyone, he is nicest to me. And I think I like him.

But who am I to say this in front of anyone, I am an ordinary slave, I have no right to like the Prince.

I shut my eyes to have a nap, cos my head was so in a mess when I heard Mei’s voice as she walked into the room.

“Akira, Princess Hana nee-ds you now.” She said and I heaved getting out of bed immediately.

I walked out of the room and headed to the Princess’s chamber, when I saw her walking out with two other old maids which I am yet to know their names.

“How are you feeling now?” She asked smiling and I Bowed my head.

“I am better my Princess. Thank you.” I replied happy to know she cared.

“That’s good. I am taking a stroll to the market with my brother, and I wish you could come with us.” She said and I was pushed to ask which of the brothers.

“Okay ma’am. I am available for anything you want Princess.” I said with my head bowed and she nodded.

We began to walk down the hallway, when I saw Prince Arjun join us. We stared at each other from afar before he came closer.

And when we came closer we looked away, acting like we never knew each other.

“Are we set? Looks like you are set.” Princess Hana said and he smiled taking his position beside her.

“So what are we getting in the market that we can’t just send a maid to get for us?” He asked and she looked at him.

“Aren’t you tired of staying behind these walls all your life? You should have a break and that’s why you are coming with me. You are my best, and I know you want to come.” She said looking at me and I quickly bowed my head.

“And where do you think you are going?” We heard Prince Niran said and we all stopped.

“What is it this time Niran? Can’t we take a stroll anymore?” Prince Arjun asked looking at him.

“Taking a stroll this time is a death sentence. Didn’t you hear the other competiting country is trying to wage a war against us?” He asked and Princess Hana sighed.

“They waging war won’t stop me from going out today. So be a nice brother for the very first time and let us go.” She said and she began to walk away with Prince Arjun.

I followed thus, and the way he looked at me sent cold shivers down my spine. He is a damn scary dude.

We got to the gates, and we walked out. For one second, I inhaled the air outside the gates, outside the miserable walls.

I haven’t been out of the walls since I was bundled and thrown inside it.

I felt alive stepping out, though I know I can’t go anywhere. At least I have the chance to see other places in Medan.

We kept walking and the Prince and Princess were having their chat. Which of course I shouldn’t listen to.

I was in front of them, while they were in the middle of the other maids. I kept looking around examining the work King Maeko has done around Medan for the years he had ruled.

To be honest, he did a great job. The place looked beautiful. What I just didn’t like was him treating less powerful towns like rags.

He has respect for only his own people.

“Akira here.” I heard Prince Arjun say and I looked back to see they already stopped at a jewelry shop while I kept walking and looking around.

I walked back to the shop and I saw her picking out some of it for herself.

“Akira which one do you like?” She asked looking at me and my eye wide-ned.

“Why ask me?” I thought looking at the samples of jewelries.

“I think the blue is beautiful. It’s radiant and would fit your skin perfectly.” I stated and she smiled.

“Arjun I told you. She would know what i like. I picked it before you chose Akira. You have taste and that is amazing.” She said smiling widely and I flushed.

Not because she said that, but because they already talked about me before I was called back.

She picked the blue one and was about paying when we heard noises in the market. We looked at the direction of the sound and then we saw these men rushing down the market on horses.

They has Spears and guns which they used in killing the people that met on the way. I was terrified and my eyes heated up seeing what they were doing to innocent people.

“Run!” Prince Arjun said and we began to run. Before I knew it, almost all the guards that came with us where on the blood socked with their blood.

I looked forward and then prince Arjun grabbed me by my hand and pulled me quickly with him increasing the pace of speed of which I went.

I looked at him as we both ran to shelter. I looked around for Princess Hana but she wasn’t in sight.

We were all scattered, and it happened to be only Prince Arjun and I running towards the direction we went.

We got to this old House, and he knocked the door open pulling me inside it.

We stopped and we both began to pa-nt.

“Who are those?” I asked trying to catch my breath.

“Those are the competiting countries. They have come to wage war.” He replied looking at me.

We stared at each other and I quickly looked away.

“What of Princess Hana?” I asked looking away.

“She should be safe. She knows how to take care of herself.” He said approaching and I began to move back with my head bowed.

“My Prince don’t you think we should go back to the palace? King Maeko would be searching for us.” I muttered as I kept moving back.

“We can’t go out now. We nee-d to make sure the fighting dies down.” He said and then my back hit the pillar in the middle of the rusted house.

“Okay.” I mumbled. Then he raised up his hand, to my chin making my face meet his.

“Prince Arjun we shouldn’t….” I said with my heart beating very fast. My eyes were locked on his li-ps.

“Arjun. My name is Arjun.” He said and to my uttermost surprise our li-ps tou-ched. I ti-ghtened my eyes as I shut it.

He grabbed me by the wai-st drawing me closer and then suddenly, we heard a gunshot.

He stopped ki-ssing me and I saw blood stain his cloth.

“Prince Arjun!” I yelled as I saw them target me too.

.

“Akira.” I heard a very distinct voice.

“Akira.” It came again, this time closer and I jumped to my feet.

“Princes Arjun!” I ran out of the room and as soon as I got out, I saw him approaching our room too. He was pa-nting very ha-rd.

Our eyes locked and we stared at each other.

“Goodness God! It was just a dream!”

*****
? ARJUN ?

“Are you okay?” I asked approaching her. I looked around and when I saw no one was looking, I held her by the hand and pull her with me.

“Where are we going?” She asked in her Angelic voice but I ignored her. I got to an empty room and opened it up pulling her in.

I looked around to check if anyone was around, and luckily no one was around.

I got into the room and locked the door behind us.

“My Prince, I…” She stammered and I cut her short.

“We ki-ssed.” I said and she looked at me swallowing ha-rd.

“It was just a dream.” She muttered.

“It’s not just a dream Akira. My dreams always come to pas-s no matter how small it is.” I said approaching and she began to move back.

“Is it only the ki-ssing side you saw? Wait! We had the same dream?” She asked and I shrugged my shoulders.

“I don’t know. All I know is what I saw which is, Hana said we would be leaving for the market. We went to get jewelries and then these men on horses came and began to kill the people.”

“We ran and then saw this old house where we hid ourselves and then things got intense and I ki-ssed you, pulled your wai-st…”

“And then you were shot.” She cut in and I sighed nodding.

“Yes I was, and then I woke up.” I stated and she looked scared.

“That Is what we should be worried about my Prince not the ki-ssing part. That was insane because it can’t happen and it won’t happen.” She muttered.

“Why can’t it happen?” I asked looking at her.

“For you to be safe, we nee-d to be sure that nothing comes to pas-s in that dream.” She said with her head bowed.

“It’s inevitable Akira. This dream will come to pas-s no matter what we do.” I said emphasizing on the “what we do”.

“We can do something. We won’t go to the market. We inform the king about the war, by telling him the dream excluding the ki-ssing part of course.” She said and I stared at her.

“What are you avoiding in that dream Akira. The ki-ss?” I asked and she shook her head reluctantly.

“No! I am avoiding the fact that you got shot. I can’t let you get shot, you should get shot.” She said and I smiled.

“You care about me.” I said and she looked away.

“Yes i do. Because you care about everyone else in this palace.” She mumbled and I nodded speechlessly.

“Aren’t we missing something here? Why did we have the same dream at the same time? No difference, no substraction,no addition. Doesn’t that tell us something?” I asked and she nodded.

“It’s telling us that we nee-d be extra careful, and that the town isn’t safe.” She said and I heaved.

I knew she was trying so ha-rd not to talk about the ki-ssing part. And I think I won’t for-ce that again.

“I would tell mother about the dream, she would know how to tell father.” I said and I opened the door.

“You wouldn’t tell her about the ki-ss, would you?” She asked and I looked at her.

“Of course not. The ki-ss was a distraction, and that was why I was shot.” I rapped and she nodded breathing out loud.

“How is your face?” I asked and she smiled faintly.

“Better thank you.” She said with her head bowed.

I walked out of the room and just then, Hana came out of the corner around the hallway walking to where I was.

“Hey, where have you been? I have been looking for you.” She said and I saw two of her maids with her.

“Sorry about that. I was taking care of something.” I said and then Akira came out of the room.

Luckily for me, I wasn’t in front of the door anymore when Hana saw me.

“Akira? What are you doing here?” She asked and Akira looked scared not knowing what to say.

“So you were looking for me? What’s up?” I said changing the subject of discussion.

“Right. I wanted us to go to the market. I nee-d to get somethings for myself.” She said and our eyes wide-ned.

“No.” Akira and I chorused before thinking.

“What? What’s going on?” She asked looking at both of us and I gulped down my saliva.

“We nee-d to talk Hana. In private.” I said and she looked at me with great curiosity.

“Okay you are scaring me.” She said In fear.

“It’s fine. But we nee-d to talk. Now.” I said holding her hand and pulling her away. I looked back at Akira and I saw she was staring at us as we walked away.

We got to her chamber and we walked in shutting the door behind us.

“So what’s up?” She asked looking at me.

“I had a dream.” I said and her eyes wide-ned.

“A bad dream?” She asked looking scared and I nodded.

“Not that bad. There was some good in it, but it was kinda scary.” I said and she let me sit on her bed, then she sat next to me.

“Tell me this dream. I am scared already because your dreams are like visions of what to come.” She said and I heaved.

“In the dream, I saw you told us to go to the market, with Akira and the other maids. You were going to buy jewelries.” I said and her eyes wide-ned.

“That’s exactly what I want to buy Arjun. What Happened?” She asked anxiously.

“After we got the jewelry, there was this attack on the people in the market including us, and we began to run.”

“They had spears and guns. Niran actually warned us that the other competiting countries wanted to wage war against us but we ignore him and still left.” I explained and I could see her breathing grow intense.

“Did any of us die?” She asked in a shaky voice.

“I was shot and I didn’t see you and the other maids at the end.” I said and tears rolled down her eyes.

“Hana you don’t nee-d to cry. We would prevent the dream as soon as possible.” I said and she nodded cleaning her eyes.

“So what is the good news in the dream? Maybe that would cheer me up a little.” She said and I swallowed ha-rd.

“It’s not about you Hana. It’s not important.” I said looking away.

“You should remove any part of the dream. Not when the dream is that critical.” She said and I nodded.

“I know but it’s to keep everyone safe.” I said and she sighed taking my hand in hers.

“Arjun trust me. You know you can tell me anything. If you don’t want anyone to know this, I am not anyone I can keep a secret.” She said and I nodded.

“I ki-ssed Akira in the dream.” I said.

“What?” She asked and she began to chuckle.

“Crazy right? That’s why I can’t tell anyone. It would put her in trouble, knowing my dreams do come to pas-s.” I said sadly.

“But you want it to happen right?” She asked.

“Hana….” I said.

“You don’t have to pretend to me of all people Arjun. Akira is nice, and beautiful.” She said.

“Yes. I want it to happen, but she doesn’t.” I said looking at her.

“That is because she Is scared, and she should be.” She stated and I nodded laying on the bed.

⭕AKIRA⭕

When I got to the room, I met Vanna and Mei sitting silently. As as I walked in, I suspected they were talking about me.

“Why do I feel you were talking about me.” I said walking to my bed and sitting on it.

“What happened Akira? You shouted the Prince’s name when you woke up.” Vanna said and Mei nodded.

“I had a bad dream. That’s all.” I said laying on the bed.

“A bad dream?? That sounds creepy. Your dreams are always visions.” Mei said and I nodded sadly.

“It will be fine. You don’t have to worry.” I said and a knock came on the door. Vanna reached for it and opened it.

It was Aaron.

“Akira can we talk please?” He asked looking very serious and my heart skipped.
