After what had happened earlier at the Cale’s office, Jade was finally able to calm herself down. She was now looking forward to seeing Jake and spending some time with him tonight. Her heart raced in anticipation as she thought about it. She was also nervous. Realizing her feelings for Jake was ma-king her feel somewhat conscious of herself. She didn’t know how she would act in his pres£nce now that she knew she liked him. Jake alre-ady had a hvge effect on her before now, so she wondered how she would be now that she knew about her feelings.
Jade hurried to the rest room on her way to the elevator to t©uçh up her make up as soon as work closed. She didn’t want to look too shabby when she meets him tonight. She ret©uçhed the powder on her face. She was still on it when her phone rang. Her heart skipped a beat when she noticed it was Jake calling.
‘Is he here alre-ady?’ she asked herself.
“Hey” She said immediately she picked up the call. Her voice was excited.
“Hi. Are you done with work?” Jake asked even though he knew the answer to that and was currently waiting for her down stairs.
“Yeah I am, and you?” She asked, adding a little bit more gloss to herl-ips.
“Yeah and I’m waiting for you down here”
“Alre-ady? I’m on my way down” She said as she hurriedly packed her stuff into her bag. A smile appeared on her face as she thought about Jake’s ceremonious way of waiting for her. She could imagine he was gloriously standing in front of the company with one of his beast drawing a lot of attention to himself.
“Okay I’ll be waiting” Jake replied before ending the call, a warm smile appearing on his face as well.
Jade’s heart began to race even more. It felt like she was going for a first d@t£ even though she wasn’t. She could feel bu-tterflies in her stomach.
Jade gave herself one last look before dashing out of the rest room to meet up with Jake. Jade had only stepped out of the restroom when a figure stepped out of one of ten toiled cubicles.
“Is she really seeing one?” The voice spoke softly. “I guess i have to find out” The voice spoke before hurrying out of the restroom to follow Jade.
As soon as Jade saw Jake standing by the pas-s£ngers door, with his back leaning against it with his signature smile which made him look extremely handsome was plastered on his face as he stared at her.
Jade walked closer to him and the more his face c@m£ into view the more enthralled she was by him. His well chiseled jawline, perfect brows and thinl-ips which suited his face perfectly made her blus-h helplessly.
Could someone tell her why she wouldn’t fall for a guy like him?
Jake’s eyes were fixed on Jade as she slowly approached him. He could feel his heart thump loudly with excitement. He couldn’t take his eyes off her, she was looking beautiful. This girl never fails to entice him with her beauty.
The pink A-line dress which she had one perfectly accentuated her curves. Her jet black hair flowing freely behind her shoulders.
He thought his heart st©pped beating when she finally st©pped right in front of him, and her full beauty c@m£ to light. ‘God she looked alluring’.
“Hey” Jade greeted with small smile gracing herl-ips.
“Hey” Jake greeted back in a soft tone.
“c@m£ to ask a girl out today?” She arched a brow, a smile tugging on the side of herl-ip.
“No I c@m£ to ask this girl out” He win-ked, a boyish smile appearing on his face, ma-king Jade blus-h lightly.
Jake couldn’t help but notice how glossy Jade’sl-ips were, something he hasn’t noticed on her before. And from the way they glittered Jake wasn’t sure if he could hold himself from k!ss!ngher. All his s-en-ses were telling him to slam hisl-ips against hers, and he was trying so ha-rd not suc¢v-mb to that urge. He didn’t want to move ahead of himself and ruin his chances of being with her by acting br@shly nor did he want to offend her at this point in time. For Pete’s sake he has just realized that he’s in love with this woman, doing something as stupid as that would only make her mad. With that in mind, Jake decided to refrain his lvstful thoughts.
Jade noticed Jake’s awkward stare on herl-ips. He was staring at her like he was contemplating about something, maybe something serious. His stare made her conscious prompting her to purse herl-ips. She cleared her throat awkwardly and asked, “What are you thinking about?”
Jake pursed hisl-ips into a thin line due to embarras-sment when he realized he has just been caught bashfully staring at herl-ips, he awkwardly scratched the back of his n£¢k and replied.
“Business” What a lie! He scoffed. There was no way he was going to tell her that he’s badly tem-pted to k!ssher right now.
‘Why was there so much gloss on herl-ips?’ He cringed in his mind.
Jade didn’t know if that was what she wanted to hear. For a moment, she thought he was attra-cted to herl-ips. She had noticed the way he stared at herl-ips just now and this wasn’t the first time he was doing that.
Of course she wanted to believe that Jake was attra-cted to her, that was the only way she would be bold enough to tell him exactly how she feels about him, or maybe knowing he was attra-cted to her would boost her morale. But who stares at someone’sl-ips when thinking about business? She shook her head and brushed those thoughts out of her mind.
Herl-ips thinned into a firm line and as she looked Jake over. He was looking handsome in his burgundy suit p@n-t and white shi-t which he tucked over it, the sleeve rolled to his elbows.
“You look good” She muttered softly, her eyes looking anywhere but his face. She felt a little shy saying that.
“Thank you” Jake replied with a happy smile. This was the first time she was voluntarily giving him a compliment about his look. It made him happy.
“And you look stunning” He said, his eyes running over her ma-king Jade blus-h slightly, but it wasn’t visible for Jake to see or so she thought. Jakel-ips twitched when he saw Jade’s reaction to his compliment.
“I guess I should say thank you too” She smiled.
“Well if you want to” Jake shrugged, ma-king Jade shoot her eyes up at him.
“What do you mean?” Wasn’t she supposed to appreciate him for complimenting her.
Jake took a step closer to her, one of his hand buried in his trou-sers, his free hand slowly rising to Jade’s face he tucked a stray strand of her behind her ears. “Because you’ll get tired of saying thank you” because I want to spend each second reminding you of how beautiful you are….these were the words he didn’t say, even though he so wanted to say them out loud.
Jade blinked at him in confusion, she didn’t un-derstand what he had just said. But what was muddling her br@in right now was the sweet musky smell emanating from Jake. The soft smell from him was so alluring and she wondered if he always smelled this nice.
Jade stared at him silently and so did Jake. They were longingly and silently held each others gaze without saying a word. Similar thoughts searing throu-gh their mind which they were both oblivious about.
Jake: [Should I tell her now? Should I reveal my feelings to her?]
[Why does she look so alluring tonight] His heart was thumping wildly against his rib cage. His heart rate was way above average. He badly wanted to confess his feelings to her and make her his woman. He wanted to possess her, k!ssher and hvg her ti-ghtly against himself. His thoughts and imaginations were running wi-de as she kept looking at him like she was doing right now with her enchanting blue eyes, which were as clear and beautiful as the ocean, completely drawing him into it’s depths, and pu-lling the words in his heart to hisl-ips. The words he so wanted to say.
He shook his head and discarded those thoughts. He wasn’t going to be br@sh about it. Confessing his feelings to her requires careful planning, just like the ones he saw on the internet.
He was going to make his confession beautiful and ro-mantic, so much that she wouldn’t have any reason to turn him down, but willingly accept him.
Yes! That was exactly what he was going to do. A beautiful confession of love for the woman who has stolen his heart. He has to show his sincerity towards d@t!ngher.
Same were the thoughts going throu-gh Jade’s mind, but definitely not how to make a confession, but whether or not Jake liked her or if he would accept her. Given the circu-mtances at which they met she didn’t know what he would think of her. Though he had treated her nicely and respected her, she also feared the view he held about her in his heart.
It wasn’t her fault for thinking this way. It’s said that the br@in is a powerful tool, it’s the faculty of cognitive reasoning. The imaginative power of the br@in can sometimes be misleading.
Jade was both scared and anxious. Even if she wanted to tell him, this wasn’t the time and place.
“Errm” She awkwardly cleared her throat, putting an abrupt st©p to the mindless staring and thinking. “So what are we doing today?” Jade asked peeling her gaze from Jake’s eyes.
Jake took a step back also, “Movies and food” He replied smilingly.
“Egg’s Benedict?” Jade c0cked brow with an excited glint in her eyes. Only God knew how much she wanted a repeat of those delicious eggs.
“Sorry Jade bear, no eggs Benedict for you, but I promise to take your somewhere better” He as-sured her.
“Where?” Jade asked inquisitively.
“Let’s see, how much do you like Italian food?”
Jade looked at him intently before replying, “Above average, why” Jade asked.
“So how much would you like to go to a drive-in movie theatre and watch movies while we eat some Italian food from my favorite restaurant?” He asked.
Jade alre-ady loved the idea. “Very much” She replied with a happy smile.
“Okay, hop in” He said as he turned to open the door for her. He as been holding the door for her lately and Jade couldn’t help but notice the gesture. It made her smile even more.

*Hillary’s patio.*
Hillary was sitted on a single chair at the patio with a bored look in her eyes. She plopped her head up with her hand as she kept gazing at nothing in p@rticular. She sighed for the nth time. Nothing has been going according to plan for a while now, and she was sure her father In-law and his stupid grandsons must be having the time of their lives must especially that casanova, Jake.
They should have their fun for the time being. She’ll coming after them soon and claim what rightfully belongs to her. All she nee-ded was just one thing to fall into place, just one. The bored look on her face slowly began to change to a frustrated one. She has been patient for too long and she can’t wait any longer.
Hillary was still lost in her reverie when Shirley c@m£ running in with a hvge smile on her face, as she p@n-ted heavily.
“Hillary” She called out excitedly.
“What?” She hissed and asked in an annoyed tone.
“Everything is set” Shirley announced proudly.
Hillary snapped her head towards her, excitement slowly creeping into her eyes.
“Everything?” She asked with uncertainty. She didn’t want to get overly excited for nothing.
“Yes”
“They agreed too?”
“Yes”
A smile creot on her face before she bur-st out into eering and sinister laugh. This was good. Finally the universe was in her favour.
“Tell Black to move to that island now!” She ordered.
“Yes ma” Shirley hurried out of the room to get to work.
Hillary’s lolled back on her chair with a satisfied smile on her face.
“The Beaus good days are finally coming to an end” She muttered to herself before bellowing out another round of her wicked laugh.
