EPISODE 56
©Sir Zach

Today was the last day of Mrs Walker’s trial. The court had p@$$ed their verdict and of course it wasn’t in her favour. Her license was revoked and she was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

Mrs Walker chuckled when she heard her sentence. She knew her sentence was too light for her crime and that had her husband’s hand written all over it. She looked over to where her family were seated and her eyes welled up with tears. Despite her wrong doing, they still came. Maybe not to support her but seeing them made her happy and regretful at the same time.

Seven years might be a light punishment, but it was a long time not to spend with family. She had a wonderful family. A loving and dedicated husband, wonderful children but she threw all that away. She had wronged them, and put them in harms way. She didn’t deserve them at all.

What a shame that it took her ruining someone’s life and a jail sentence to realise what she had.

Now she un-derstood the meaning of the word, ‘You don’t know the value of something till you lost it.’

She had lost her family who loved her and gave her countless opportunities to make things right but she had been too selfish and stupid to do the right thing.

The court rose and Mrs Walker was led out of the court room. Tears streamed down her face when her husband walked closer to her with the children following behind.

He sighed as he stared at her pitiful face, “We’ll wait for you.” Was all he could say. Tears also pooled in his eyes but he didn’t let them fall.

“I’m sorry.” She said as she cried even more. How she wished she could turn back the hands of time. Mr Walker slowly nodded his head and ru-bbed her cheek.

“I know. I hope you do better.” He told her while she bobbed her head up and down. She looked at her children, “I’m sorry. I know I failed you. I’m sorry.” She lowered her head in shame and apologized.

“Learn mother and come back as a changed person. We’ll still be here for you.” Lair said while James nodded.

“Thank you.” She said before staring at Amy who had come with Mason and Ethan.

“I know I’m not worthy of your forgiveness and I’ll pay for my wrong all the days of my life, but I hope you can one day forgive me. I’m truly sorry.” She sincerely apologized.

Ethan placed a hand on Mason’s shoulder who nodded his head, “I will, but not today.” Mason honestly replied. He couldn’t just let go of all that had happened but he would work towards it. The whole Walker family had apologized to him, and he couldn’t be hateful towards them. But he still couldn’t just let all his resentment towards Mrs Walker go. She had hurt him and his family the most.

“Thank you. I can live with that.” Knowing he was willing to forgive made her heart lighten. It was enough for her.

“A-Amy?” She nervously called but Amy stepped forward and held her hand.

“You’re still my mother and you’ll always be. But come back better or else I’ll really hate you.” Amy said, a tear rolling down her cheek.

“Thank… you. Thank you. I won’t let you all down again. Thank you.” She cried. She waved as they led away into the prison van.

Mr Walker couldn’t bear to look, a tear fell from his eyes. Vivian had been his wife for decades, and seeing her like this was heart wrenching but this was a situation he couldn’t change. She was paying for her sins.

They all returned home with heavy hearts as it was a sad day for them. But they all hoped that she’d return as a changed person with so much love in her heart.
…..

When Jake said he wanted his wedding in a month he really meant it. Everyone had been working so ha-rd to make it happen, everybody except Jade. He had asked her not to move a muscle except go to work and come back home. He had everything she wanted delivered to her doorstep. Jade wanted to be involved in the plans of her own wedding but Jake wouldn’t let her. He goes as far as taking her to work and bringing her back despite his busy schedule. He didn’t let her go anywhere without him knowing about it. Although all the villains were gone but he still didn’t want to take any chances.

Even now when they were about having dinner at a restaurant Jake still had his hand securely wrapped around her wa-ist like a iron Br@ce. Jade didn’t mind him. She was getting used to him being this way.

Jade couldn’t stop staring at Mason who was sitted opposite her with Ethan placing food into his plate every now and then. She was still shocked to know that Ethan was ga-y. That came as a surprise to her, but he still remained her favorite artist.

Mason who noticed Jade’s gaze on him stared at her and said, “Why don’t you ask and stop staring like that.” He smiled while everyone glanced at Jade.

“I’m sorry. I was just…..You know what I’ll just ask. Where have you been all this while? I mean did you know you had a twin before Micheal died?” Jade was Inquisitive. She remembered Amy intially telling her Michael had no sibling but suddenly she heard he had a twin who was a genius hacker and he had kidnapped Amy for revenge. Scratch that! he almost killed her. She was curious and she wanted to know, where he had been all these years that no one knew nothing about him.

Everyone stared at Mason as they eagerly waited for his reply. No one wanted to pry so they had not bothered to ask him about it.

Ethan wasn’t expecting that question. He thought she was going to ask about his relationship with Ethan. As a matter of fact, he had thought she was one of those who was judgemental about his and Ethan’s style of life, but it seemed that wasn’t the case.

Mason sighed, “Actually I didn’t know about my twin until Ethan told me. He mentioned he had seen someone who looked like me and we investigated it out, and it was true. The truth is, I was born with a defective heart and my parents who couldn’t afford the health care gave me up for adoption. Unfortunately my foster parents died in an accident and after their death I found out I was adopted and my uncle’s kicked me out and claimed everything. I was twelve at the time so I was put into the foster care system. But I ran away at 18 when no one came for me, I was hateful, sad and rebellious. At twenty I met Ethan.” He paused and smiled at Ethan who held his hand. He blus-hed and continued.

“Believe me I made his life a living hell but he was relentless. He changed my life, connected me to my family but a few days to the scheduled day to see them, Micheal was Jailed and my mother died out of shock, father had a cardiac arrest that same evening but before we got here he was gone too. I was able to meet Micheal in jail but few months later he died too. He was stabbed.” Mason narrated.

The once lively and bubbly table suddenly became silent and the atmosphere became awkward after Mason’s narration. Everyone stared at Mason with pitiful eyes. They couldn’t believe he had been throu-ghso much.

Jade who had asked was speechless. She suddenly regretted being curious.

“I… I’m… sorry.” She apologized.

Shrugging his shoulders Mason replied, “It’s okay. I’m not sad anymore. I now have someone that loves me. He’s my second chance at life and love.” He said with loving eyes directed at Ethan who returned his smile and ki-ssed him on the li-ps.

“And I’m so blessed to have met you.” Ethan smiled.

*A month later, The Wedding*

Weddings are beautiful. The wedding jiggles, the laughter, the jitters, they all made it special. Everyone in the hall looked forward to seeing the bride in her beautiful gown and the groom in his tuxedo. Everyone had different expectations but they were all geniuely happy. But the happiest person today was Jake, who hasn’t stopped grinning since the dawn of day.

“Cold feet?” Phil asked as he helped him with his tie.

“Never! My feet are all warm in here.” He said waving his feet at them making the men chuckle.

“Dude is super excited. Can’t wait to get it rou-ghtonight.” Mike teased while they all laughed again.

“I also can’t wait to get it rou-ghtonight. Dude the bridal girls are to die for.” Rick drooled from the window where he was having a clear view of the ladies outside.

“Ouch!” He wailed when something hit his head. He frowned when he realized Dan had just thrown an empty box at him. “What’s that for?” He snapped at him.

“Dude STDs are real. Keep it infor one day.” Dan lectured while Rick rolled his eyes at him.

“Can someone tell me why we still hang out with this fool?” Rick asked before throwing something back at Dan.

Phil looked at the duo fighting and sighed before glancing back at Jake. “How do you feel?” Phil inquired.

“Like the happiest man in the world.” He replied while Phil nodded.

As expected.
…..

Jake had never seen a more beautiful sight till he saw her walk down the aisle looking perfect in her wedding gown. His heart skipped with every step she took closer to the podium where he was anxiously waiting for her. She had her arms hooked around Kelvin’s who had finally found his role, and it was far more important than being the best man, because right now he was the one walking Jade down the aisle.

Jake held his breath and stared at her unblinkingly till she stopped right in front of him. She looked angelic and beautiful.

In one word, she looked heavenly.

He wouldn’t be wrong if he said she felt like heaven, because to him that was what she felt like.

“Hey.” Jade greeted with a light blus-h creeping over her cheek as she stared at her picturesque man, from un-der her veil. He was looking radiant and handsome.

“Hey.” Jake greeted back, his eyes still fixated at her. It all felt like a dream. He had never for a second thought about spending his life with anybody or standing before a girl donned in a wedding dress till she came into his life. It felt like it was only yesterday when the girl in a se-xy red dress approached him with the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen, making an absurd request. But as absurd as it had been Jake was grateful it all happened.

They had their eyes fixated at one another as the officiating minister started the ceremony. Jake hitched when he rolled up her veil and her face came into view. He teared up at the sight of her. She looked like an angel….his angel. He quickly looked away to wipe his tears.

Jade’s cheeks flushed and her eyes also welled when Jake sobbed as he stared at her. Every guest at the auditorium awed at the sight of the cute Jake while others who had seen him lose himself when Jade was in a coma cried with him.

They knew his tears were tears of joy. The man was simply happy. The moment for him was overwhelming.

Everyone anxiously waited to hear the vows of the two love birds and when the time came the whole auditorium fell into silence, so much if a pin dropped it’s sound would echo throu-ghthe hall.

Jake held her hands in his, his eyes staring de-ep into hers.

“To be honest I’m speechless, no words can perfectly describe how I feel. My feelings for you are simply indescribable. All my life I thought I had all I nee-ded to survive and live throu-ghmy days in bliss, but little did I know I had nothing and was only existing. I had no personal goals or aspirations till you stepped into my life and you became my only goal. You showed me the difference between living and existing, and I started living with you. You taught me how to love, smile and be a better person. I keep asking myself each day what karma I earned to deserve such an angel like you. I’m so lucky to have you Jade. I know this is a hu-ge step for me, for us, it’s a journey of a lifetime and I can’t think of anyone else I want to start this journey with other than you. I can’t promise to be hundred percent perfect, but I promise to make you happy, to love you and cherish until my dying day. I’ll spend my days loving no one else but you, treasuring you. Thank you for giving me this lifetime opportunity to be with you. I vow to treasure it till the end. I love you Jade.”

Jade felt her eyes swell as she heard his sweet promises to her. Gripping his hands firmly she smiled at him, “I love you too.”

“Before I met you I thought I had had my fair share at love. I wanted peace and comfort and that’s what I found with you. Jake I’ve never wanted to be with someone the way I want to be with you. No one has made me smile the way you’ve made me smile. You made me happy till I became addicted to it. I know relationships are not always perfect and are full of hurdles but I don’t want to face these challenges with anyone but you, because I know you’re my soulmate from God. I can’t promise perfection, but I promise to be a good wife, your better half. I promise to love you, live with you, cherish you and never get tired of you. I promise to put my best into this relationship and accompany you with all of my heart, body and soul till death brings us closer and never apart. I love you Jake Beau, now and until forever.” Jade said wholeheartedly.
