EPISODE 10
If she informs Tanya about her arrival, the news might reach Chris too.
And, Brina doesn’t want to face Chris again and makes it difficult for herself.
She wants everything to go in a transparent and smooth manner so that she can leave the company with no strings attached.
…
And, as soon as Brina entered the company, the receptionist greeted her politely. Brina nodded her head politely and smiled before greeting her and taking the elevator to the HR depa-rtment.
After Brina disappeared from her sight, the receptionist informed Tanya about Brina’s arrival and where she headed too.
Meanwhile, Brina reached the HR depa-rtment and was about to proceed with her resignation procedures but was caught red handed by Tanya who hurriedly arrived.
She was literally waiting for Brina from yesterday. No calls, no messages and when she went to their flat, Brina was not there as well…!!
Brina really made Tanya worried to death!! Now, she is here to resign??
What exactly is going with this woman here?
Tanya really got angry with all this.
“Someone is being so distant and secretive nowadays.” Tanya mocked as she snatched away the letter from Brina.
“Resignation letter! Wooow… Such an awesome engagement gift for her friend.” Tanya laughed sarcastically. But it is too evident that she is hurt by Brina’s decision.
Her teary eyes gave it away though her words didn’t.
Even Brina’s eyes misted up as she saw her best friend on the verge of tears. It is what she wanted to prevent from happening.
Hurting Tanya.
“Tan…” Brina is about to tell something but gets interrupted by Tanya.
“You didn’t even tell me before alighting the cruise ship. You just left and when I came this afternoon to our flat, you weren’t there as well!! I’ve been looking for you everywhere, Brina… park, supermarket, cafes…everywhere we used to go!! You didn’t even text me or called me back!” Tanya exploded.
“But, I didn’t expect you to come right here to resign on your job, you know? I didn’t expect this… I…I just thought you nee-d time” Tanya pursued her li-ps trying not to cry.
“I convinced Ben and the others to get you promoted as my secretary. I thought I could make it up to you like this…”
“Though we will not be flat mates anymore I thought we can spend our time together at least at work. But… here you are…” Tanya bit her li-ps.
“If you didn’t want to be my secretary, I… I.. would have respected your choice” she added, “You would have just told me, Brina.”
Brina felt her eyes teared up and her heart twisted in pain, but she swiftly wiped away her tears and averted her guilty gaze.
It is not only about the promotion but about Chris as well. Above all, she wanted to work with Louis.
“I will be in contact with you, Tanya. It was just that I don’t want to continue in this company anymore. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” She told, her voice laced with grim and guilt.
“Why? Why are you so adamant not to continue in this company?” This time it is not Tanya who asked but it is Chris.
His face is grim and angry.
He went to her house yesterday afternoon as soon as he alighted the Cruise ship.
But she wasn’t there!
Her phone was switched off and her GPS didn’t help him much. He couldn’t track her either even after using the company’s employee tracker.
This is highly impossible. She would not be able to block it until unless someone powerful helped her to deactivate it. On the first place she wouldn’t be even aware of it let alone to deactivate it!!
“Is it because of the day before yesterday, Brina? Chris asked, getting closer to her.
But, when she stepped back, he frowned. “Are you avoiding me now?” he asked, his voice filled with anger and disappointment.
Brina sighed and m@$$aged the space between her eyebrows. Disregarding Chris whose behavior towards her changed so drastically, Brina turned towards Tanya, her only genuine friend.
“I got a job in my dream company, Tanya. I have been waiting to get into the company and today, I got my approval.” Brina explained.
While she spoke, her mind drifted towards Louis.
Without him, this wouldn’t have happened. If not for his help, she would have been sandwiched between Tanya’s friendship and Chris’s pressure.
She felt really grateful to him and above all this, she started looking forward to spending more time with Louis.
Brina couldn’t deny it, anymore. She is so, so attra-cted towards him in such a way that she started feeling scared because of her feelings towards him.
Meanwhile Tanya sighed. She accepts that she doesn’t know much about her best friend.
Brina is always secretive and she has never been willing to share her past. So Tanya never for-ced Brina to talk either about her life or her dreams.
So, basically she isn’t aware of Brina’s dislike towards rich and famous people. Nor is she aware of what Brina’s dream company is.
“I un-derstand Brina. Leave this as is. But girl, why did you tell ‘no’ to Chris? He is such a sweetheart and never had any history of bad rumors. Chris never loved any girl and you are the one whom he proposed to.” Tanya came closer and talked in a hushed tone.
Chris and her fiancé, Ben, are very close to each other and seeing Chris all flustered and restless, disappointed Ben.
Seeing her fiancé like that made Tanya sad. So, she decided to talk to Brina about this.
Of course, Brina saw throu-ghher friend and she un-derstood why Tanya came here to talk.
“I know how Chris is!! But I never felt for him in that way, yes, I respect him and admire him but that doesn’t mean that I see him in that way!!” Brina whispered back.
Leaving behind her idea of marrying a normal guy, first of all, she must have feelings for accepting someone right!!
And she never felt in that way towards Chris.
“Try him. Spend some time with him like good friends and then decide. Please, Brina… Do that for me. Think of it as my last wish. Please…” Tanya pleaded with her friend.
This of course made Brina face an awkward situation. She couldn’t say no nor could she accept.
What should she do now?
At that exact moment, her mobile started ringing.
‘You’re the light, you’re the night
You’re the color of my blood
You’re the cure, you’re the pain
You’re the only thing I wanna touch…’
The ringtone filled the room with silence. Everyone was shocked.
This is not Brina’s ringtone. At least, this is not what they heard before!
‘Huh? This isn’t my ringtone. Who changed it into this cheesy one?’ Brina thought.
Meanwhile, Tanya peeked into Brina’s mobile involuntarily just like she used to do before, out of habit.
She couldn’t help but gape…

Even Chris who is standing close to Brina and Tanya peeked at the screen after seeing the incredible expression on Tanya’s face.
His eyes darkened and his fists clenched.
Who is this guy calling his girl!
And, why is the ringtone so cheesy? Is Brina in love with that guy as well?
He looked at Brina as if scrutinizing her face… Searching for something that could prove him wrong.
Though Brina is surprised by the sudden strange contact in her phone, this is something that could save her from this awkward situation. So, Brina decided the pla-y along.
Smiling shyly she held her phone close to her heart.
“Excuse me. My boyfriend is calling… He might be waiting for me.” she said.
Tanya gasped and Chris looked at Brina with complicated expression.
“Boyfriend? I never knew that you have one.” Tanya asked.
“Hmm…” Chris hummed, crossing his arms, waiting for an answer.
“We just patched up not too long back. There was a misun-derstanding between us which made us stay away from each other for a while.” Brina answered.
She sounded so genuine. Thanks to her acting skills, she is good at improvising a lie as her own story.
“Ohh! You never told.” Tanya muttered, a little suspicious but not too much.
Brina smiled. “I was angry on my darling so I decided not to talk about him. It would have made me emotional.”
Then, her mobile rang again making Chris sigh.
“Go and speak with him. He seems so clingy.” He told, jealousy obvious in his voice.
Brina started feeling nervous but didn’t let it betray her indifferent face. She thought this is wrong number and the person on other side would not call again. But to her distress, the mobile rang again…
If she take some private place to talk with her ‘mysterious, strange lover’s they might suspect her again. Not that she is afraid of it or care about it… But she didn’t want Tanya to feel sad because of her.
Tanya is her best friend.
Someone whom Brina loves so much and would never hurt.
So, all she could do is answer the call and pray to God that nothing will go wrong.
….
“Baby…” A voice sounded from the other side, loud enough for Chris and Tanya to hear.
Even Brina is shocked but with that single word, Brina recognized the voice and she sighed in relief.
It’s Louis.
She would have saved his number as darling.
Actually, she couldn’t even remember saving his number. Or, she would have saved but in this anxiety she would have forgot on what name she would have saved his number….
But, why is he calling her baby???
Did he dailed a wrong number?? Or, does he know about the situation she is in??
If he does, how did he find it out??
But for now, they are least concerned matters. The main thing is he saved her from hurting Tanya with her actions.
He helped her escape Chris and his put a check to his pressure.
That’s all she wanted now.
Smiling brightly, she composed herself quickly and talked back.
As ‘she’ saved his number as ‘darling’ she couldn’t do anything but address him in the same way.
“Hi darling.” she sounded so sweet and warm.
….
Meanwhile, when Louis heard her sweet voice, addressing him in such an inti-mate way, his heart fluttered and brimmed with happiness.
His eyes went crescent with jubilance and his voice involuntarily sounded husky and so manly.
When Brina left the company to resign in her old company, he @$$umed that a situation like this might occur. So, he ordered one of his men to follow Brina into her old company and inform him if she gets into trouble.
So, when Tanya and Chris started troubling Brina, that man started to inform Louis about each and everything that is happening via text messages.
And, this is how Louis was able to call her. As of why his number is saved as ‘darling’ and how a cheesy ringtone got pla-yed, Charlotte helped him with her amazing hacking skills. It didn’t take much time…
….
“I am waiting for you, downstairs, babe. We have a date to enjoy remember?” Louis said, aloud, so that Chris could hear.
“Date?” Brina asked but instantly covered her confusion. “Yeah… Yeah. It’s really sweet of you, darling… I thought you forgot.” Brina chuckled, pla-ying along very well.
But his voice made her blus-h. His voice is very manly and charming that bu-tterflies tickled her stomach.
“I would never miss the chance sweetheart. I promised that I will make it up for you, right. All these years we have missed our time together and I am ready to do anything to compensate it. Come soon sweetie… I am waiting for you” he responded.
Even Louis couldn’t help but feel how genuine he sounded. It was as if everything he spoke was real.
And all those cheesy nick names just rolled off his tongue as if he address her in the same way almost every day.
“Yep. I am leaving now. Ten minutes, darling.” Brina spoke, loud enough for Tanya and Chris to hear.
Even she is in the same page as Louis but decided to think about it later. For now, she has to fetch her resignation approval and escape the company.
“Tanya, I will talk to you later. I will answer each and every question you have in your mind. But for now I have to rush back.” Brina took the resignation approval from Tanya’s hand.
Nodding her head slightly, she spoke, “Thanks for helping me and taking care of me for all these years, sir. I respect you a lot but I never saw you in such way. Please forgive me.”
Sighing in relief, she escaped to the elevator as if she is a mouse running away from a cat.
…
Downstairs…
She is about to take a taxi but sp-otted Louis waiting for her. He is leaning on his ‘not so costly’ Ford car.
He is still dressed in his black suit as he had to rush here.
Seeing him waiting for her, made Brina almost skip a beat.
Subconsciously…
‘I wouldn’t regret to witness this scene everyday’ the white angel sitting on Brina’s shoulder spoke.
‘He is too charming isn’t he? I could not agree more. I can devour his bo-dy everyday.’ The red devil sitting on other side agreed.
‘This is the first time you conceded with me. Did sun rise in the west today?’
‘Yes… you fool! But he is MINE! Off you go now.’
‘Hey, he is mine too’
“Brina, hurry up. Hop inside.” Louis, who is about to sit inside, said.
And, it is only when Brina came out of her trance and nodded her head. She is about to go to other side to sit but abruptly heard someone coming out of the elevator.
“Brina, what’s h-” Tanya who just rushed downstairs, is about to ask something but blus-hed furiously.
Brina and her boyfriend are hu-gging very p@$$ionately.
It made her eyes almost pop out of the sockets. blus-hing more furiously, Tanya escaped back into the elevator.
Phew! She never saw Brina this inti-mate with anyone and this is the first time. So, it made her truly shocked.
God! He looked too handsome and s-xy from his back view.
