Amaya’s pov
I woke up and sluggishly got down from my bed
as I went to the living room.I saw a note in a
table and picked it
“I’ll be back soon.I just wanna get some things
and visit someone”.It read
“Thank you uncle”.I muttered as I dropped the
letter on the table.I walked around the house as
tears filled my eyes.Everywhere seems empty
without mom just as myself U really feel empty.I
can’t even believe that she is gone.I picked my
bag,wrote a letter to my uncle,saying “I’m going
to work uncle,you don’t have to worry about
me.I’m fine,thanks”.I went out of the house and
halted a car

I got to the K3’s house and stepped
in.Everywhere was silent as I dropped my bag on
a couch as walked throu-ghthe living room
“Dylan,Ryan,Kylan,Mr Cole.where are you
guys?”.I shouted as Kylan came down the stairs
“Maya?,what are you doing here?”.He asked
“What question is that,I came to work as
normal”.I replied
“But I told your uncle you can take some months
off”.He said
“I know,I got the message but I didn’t wanna
stay at home.If I do stay there,I’ll keep
remembering about my mom”.I said as he stared
into my eyes
“Are you okay? “.He asked as I nodded my head
“Yes.Thank you”.I replied
“Are you sure.You can take some days off if you
like”.He said
“I’m fine okay and I still have two days to go so I
have to work very ha-rd before I leave here”.I said
“Are you still leaving?”.He asked
“Yes.I have to take care of my siblings since my
mom is gone now”.I said
“Okay.I get it”.He said
“Thanks.I’ll go cook lunch before Miyah comes
back from school okay”.I said
“Okay”.He said and I could feel that he was
hurt.I walked into the kitchen as I felt him
behind me.I turned to face him as he looked at
me
“Why did you follow me?”.I asked
“I wanna help you cook”.He said as I chuckled
“Why?”
“Can’t I cook?” He asked
“You can but it’s my job to cook for this house”.I
said
“I know,i just feel like cooking”.He said
“Why”
“Nothing”.He replied as he picked a knife
“So what are we cooking?”.He asked as I
chuckled
“Saucy parmesan chicken”.I replied
“Okay.Let’s start”.He said as he took a bowl
We finish preparing the food as we served it on
the dinning table.Someone came into the house
as Miyah came to hu-g me
“Good afternoon aunt Maya”.She greeted
“Afternoon Kiddo.how was your day?”.I asked as
she moved away from me
“I’m fine”.She said
“Okay.Just go upstairs,freshen up and come
down for lunch”.I said
“Okay.I’m going”.She said as she ran upstairs
“Your sister is a really good kiddo. She’s lively
and jovial”.I told Kylan as I joined him in serving
the food
“Yeah she is.She takes after me”.He said and I
looked at him
“You?”.I asked
“Yes,me”.He said
“Yeah.Indeed”.I said as he laughed
“What do you mean by that?”.He asked
“Nothing”.I said as he turned to me.He came
closer to me and hu-gged me
“I’m sorry for your mom’s death”.He said as
tears trickled down my cheeks
“Y..you don’t have to be sorry.You weren’t the
one that caused her death”.I said in tears as he
continued hu-gging me
“I know how you feel to lose a mom so just pour
everything out”.He said as he place his hand on
my hair and stro-ked it.I held his clothes as I
hu-gged him back and cried on his che-st
“Aunt Maya?”.I heard a voice as I turned to see
Miyah standing before us.I quickly moved away
from Kylan and cleaned my eyes
“Why are you crying?”.She asked as I bent down
to her height
“erm,nothing kiddo.I wasn’t crying”.I said as she
looked at Kylan
“What did you do to her?”.She asked Kylan as
she frowned at him
“Me?,I didn’t do anything”.He replied
“He didn’t do anything to me Kiddo”.I said as i
held her hands
“Then why are you crying”.She asked as I
hu-gged her
“Something happened to me”.I said
“What happened,who dare hurt you,let me go
teach the person a lesson”.She said as I smiled
“You don’t have to”.I said as I moved away from
her
“Please don’t cry anymore”.She said wiping my
tears away with her thumb
“I won’t cry again”
“Promise?”.She said as I nodded my head
“Thank you Kiddo”.I said as she smiled
“You are welcome”.She said
“Go on.go eat your food before it gets cold”.I
said
“Okay”.She said as she went to the dinning
room.I slowly stood and turned to Kylan
“I’m sorry”.I said
“For what?”.He asked
“For what I did earlier.I’m not meant to do that”.I
said
“Not meant to hu-g me?”.He asked
“Yes.It was a mistake”.I said
“Why”.He said and I could sense he was already
angry
“Because I’m not meant to do that”.I said
“Is it a crime to love?”.He asked
“It isn’t”.I replied
“Then why is it ha-rd to love you and for you to
love me back?”.He asked
“Because I don’t love you”.I said and I was about
to leave when he grabbed my hand
“Repeat it”.He said looking into my eyes
“Because I do not love you”.I said as I je-rked my
hand away from his
“Why are you doing this to me?”.He asked as I
sighted tears in his eyes
“What am I doing?”.I asked
“Why can’t you love me back”.He asked as my
heart continued racing
“I know you do love me”.He said
“Yes.I love you.I admit it.I love you Kylan.My
heart keeps beating for you”.I said as he
immediately slammed his li-ps on mine,placing his
hands on my cheeks

Kylan’s pov
“Yes.I love you.I admit it.I love you Kylan.My
heart keeps beating for you”.She said as my
heart skipped a bit
She loves me.Maya loves me!!
I yelled in my mind as I place my hand in her
cheeks and slammed my li-ps on hers.I put off
the light because of Miyah as I ki-ssed her
pas-sionately
“Who switched the light off”.I heard Miyah’s
voice as I broke the ki-ss.I grabbed Maya’s hand
as I dragged her upstairs to my room.I locked
the door behind us as I turned to face Maya.I
walked up to her and was about to hold her hand
when she moved back
“What’s wrong?”.I asked
“I only told you my feelings because I’ll soon
leave.If I don’t tell you,its gonna hurt me,We
can’t be together”.She said
“W..what,w..what do you mean.I love you and
you also do,what’s stopping us”.I asked
“We can’t be together”.She said
“Why,why did you reply to the ki-ss then?”.I asked
“Because I love you”.She said
“Then why can’t we be together” I asked
‘Because we can’t be”.She said
“Please open the door”.She said
“I won’t”.I said
“Open it now or else..”
“Or else what?!!”.I yelled
“What will you do,beat me up?,okay go ahead,hit
me,hit me badly till you get all the anger and
pains out of your system”.I yelled as she started
hitting her hands on my che-st
“You je-rk,why do you keep doing this to me
knowing I love you.You never gave up on
me,why,you should have.I’m not a perfect
girl”.She said crying as she continued hitting my
che-st
“That’s enough”.I said holding her hands and
dragged her to me,placing her head on my che-st
“You are a perfect girl Maya”.I said as I stro-ked
her hair
“Thank you”.She said admist tears as I smiled.I
moved her away from me as she lowered her
head
“You don’t have to be shy”.I said using my finger
to raise my head up
“Are you shy?”.I asked as she shaked her head
“Then why did you lower your gaze”.I asked as
she shaked her head
“Are you still leaving?”.I asked
“I’ll do as I told Miyah.I’ll keep working here but I
won’t live her.I’ll go home in the evening
because of my siblings”.She replied as I sighed
“Okay.I can go with it.atleast I can still see your
face everyday”.I said as she smiled.I pec-ked her
on the li-ps and saw her blus-h
“Bro Kylan?,are you in there”.I heard Miyah’s
voice as she knocked on my door
“It’s Miyah”.Maya whispered
“Where do I hid”.She asked
“Bathroom,go hide in the bathroom”.I said as she
ran to my bathroom.I turned to face the door and
opened the door as Miyah came in
“What do you want?”.I asked her
“Were you the one who switched off the
light?”.She asked
“No,what happened?”.I asked
“Nothing.Do you know where aunt Maya is?”.She
asked
“No.Gi check her in her room”.I said
“Okay”.She said as she went out of my room.I
closed the door after her as Maya came out of
my bathroom
“I’ll get going now”.She said as was about to
leave when I held her hand and dragged
her,making us fall on the bed,she on top of me
“I remember a day like this,that we stayed in this
position,just that I was on top of you”.I said as
she chuckled
“Yeah.Let go before Miyah comes back
here”.She said
“She can’t come”.I said
“What if she does?”.She asked
“Well I don’t care”.I said aa she chuckled
“You don’t?”.She asked
“Yes.I wanna hold you forever”.I said
“You know that’s not possible”.She said
“I know”.I said as I released her.She got off me
as I stood up
“I’ll let you go for now so as not to make Miyah
become suspicious of us”.I said
“For now?”.She asked
“Yes,for now.We’ll still meet later”.I said as she
smiled
“Okay then.Looking forward to that time”.She
said
“A ki-ss before you leave?”.I asked
“No”.She said
“Please”.I pleaded
“No.bye”.She said and went out of my room
Gosh,she does make me go crazy all the time
I was about to close the door when she ran to
my room,pec-ked my cheek and ran out before I
could say anything
Goodness Maya,you just love make me go crazy
