“Oh my God, you have finally brou-ght my daughter to me” the woman said embr@cing Juliet so ti-ght with tears in her eyes. Juliet had no idea of what was going on. “Juliet, look how you’ve grown so big and beautiful. I have always been longing for this day” the lady said.
Juliet looked totally confused and out of place. “Madam, I don’t un-derstand what you’re saying,” Juliet said. “I know my daughter, I know it will be ha-rd for you to take it.
Sit down Juliet and let’s talk,” the woman said and they both sat down. “Juliet, you are not an orphan. I’m your biological mother. My name is Mrs. Mary Nelson and I’m the CEO of Nelson farms Ltd,” said Mrs. Nelson “I can’t believe this. I was told back at the orphanage home that you died during my delivery,” Juliet said. “Yeah I know. That was the only way to keep me away from your forester mother. Your father took me far away from the village to a place where no one knew me. He promised to come back and be with me but he never showed up again. He took you away from me because he wanted to be close to you and besides, you were the only child he had by then so he cherished you so much. I didn’t like how he went about things but I didn’t have the ability to trace him or you until Daniel showed up”, Mrs. Nelson revealed.
Juliet still looked confused with a lot questions running throu-gh her mind. It was difficult for her to pick up the pieces and join them together . “Where is my father now? And how is my foster mother connected to my father?” Juliet asked.
” Your father is late and Mrs. Johnson who happens to be your foster mother is actually your step mother ” She revealed.
“Are you saying that Mr. Johnson the pastor is actually my father? “Juliet asked. “Yeah, he is” Said Mrs. Nelson
Meanwhile James was still pleading with Alice. He told her to ask anything that she wanted and he will in return grant it for her. Alice knew that this was a good opportunity for her. The moment she had been waiting for.
“How about you marrying me in the next 3 weeks?” Alice said. Marriage? That was the last thing James ever thought of. He was not re-ady to settle down with Alice or anything. As a matter of fact, he had never seen himself as a committed type. Marriage was just a no go area for him. It was just impossible.
“Come on Alice, you know we both are not re-ady for this,” James said. ” You are not re-ady, not me,” Alice retorted. “Marriage is a life choice decision, plea-se reconsider, plea-se” James pleaded.
” Look, I’m not in the mood for reconsideration. I thought you said I should ask for anything I wanted” Alice said, reminding James of what he had told her earlier. “I know, but Marriage is out of the picture for now Alice” James said. Its seems he was not re-ady to grant that offer for Alice. She noticed it and remained silent for a while as James kept pleading with her. She finally arrived at something. “ok, good, seems you are not responsible as i thought but I have another request and I’m not going to change my mind on that” She said.
” What is it? tell me” James asked ” I nee-d you to deposit GHC 50,000 into my account by the end of this week. Nothing more, nothing less. That’s the only thing you can compensate me with and pay me off for good,” Alice said. That amount was quite hvge for James but he had no choice than to raise that amount for Alice.
The only way he could think of was to go back to his old ways that got him arrested at the states, thus selling and buying of drugs. The same job that got him arrested until Ben and his father c@m£ to his aid. He quic-kly made a phone call to one of his gangs to get the drug for him to sell.
Mrs. Johnson nee-ded to upd@t£ Jax on Juliet being discharged. She nee-ded a next plan of action to take against Juliet. Mrs. Johnson then called Jax to come over to her house so they could talk about it. Ben on the other hand was wondering how he was going to confess to Juliet when she comes back. He was walking on the compound of the house when he saw Jax entering. Jax didn’t see him. She just went straight to the door leading to the living room and entered.
Mrs. Johnson quic-kly started discussing things out with her. Mrs. Johnson : “Look, I’m really sorry about what happened earlier. I was frustrated. I promise I’m going to give you half of the money this evening”
Jax: “that’s OK by me”.
Mrs. Johnson: ” But hey, you are so unpredictable. How
come you didn’t tell me you had it in mind to poison Juliet.”
Jax: ” what are you talking about? I haven’t done anything
like that.”
Mrs. Johnson:” are you sure?
Jax: ” Yeah, that will be too extreme ”
Mrs. Johnson: “Then I guess we are not her only enemies. I
really don’t know, it seems our plans failed. Juliet is well
and fit again and even walking upon all the injections you
gave her. We nee-d to figure out our next plan of action. ”
“Mum! What? You? How could you? Oh my God! I can’t believe my ears. ”
Mrs. Johnson panicked as she heard that voice, it c@m£ from the back door. She turned around only to find Ben starring at them.
Ben had been listening to their conversation all along…..
Episode 23

Ben had been listening to their conversation all along. His mother wanted to change the subject but Ben pushed them to the wall. “Ben, you can’t believe what, Jax and I were just wondering who could be behind the food poisoning” Mrs. Johnson lied.
Ben was so sure of what he heard. Indeed he knew his mom was lying about it.
“Anyway, I will be in my room” Ben said and left them. Mrs. Johnson and Jax didn’t trust Ben on that. At least they nee-ded to be sure that he does not suspect anything. “Do you think he heard everything? Jax asked. ” I can’t be too sure about that” answered Mrs. Johnson “But you should have made us meet somewhere than your house, now look at
what is happening” Jax said blaming her.
“I thought he was not at home, but don’t worry, leave it to me, he is my son, I know how to deal with him” Mrs. Johnson as-sured her. “You better do” Jax said.
” That reminds me, we nee-d to be very careful about that Daniel guy, he is watching us from a distance ” Mrs. Johnson said. “who is he, he is really weird, I have
never felt comfortable around him” Jax said.
“I will try and find out where he lives when Juliet comes” Mrs. Johnson said It was during this time that a knock c@m£ from the door, it was one of the church’s elders. They had to reschedule their meeting to a later d@t£. Jax then dep@rted leaving Mrs. Johnson and the church elder.
Mrs. Johnson was not plea-sed about the Elder’s visit. She knew that, the elder will only pay her visit if it has to do with the church’s money. She nicely welcomed him, and asked of his mission as is done in Ghanaian custom. “Well my mission is simple, yet nee-ds to be addressed. Over some few months, we have noticed that, there has been hvge withdrawals from the church’s account. Per our records, those withdrawals were made by you without any concern of the financial secretary. Mrs. Johnson, we nee-d to talk about this issue before it comes to the notice of the board.” Said the Elder.
“Elder, so this is why you c@m£ here. Anyway its good that you’ve prompted me though. You see, before my husband died, may his soul rest in peace, there was this church project he was building that he kept away from you. He wanted to use it to surprise the congregation at the forth coming 40th anniversary. And as a wife, I nee-d to continue what he couldn’t finish. Those withdrawals were made to support that project Elder” Mrs. Johnson explained herself
“But madam, such things should be done at your own expense, as far as I’m concerned the church has finished un-dertaking all its developmental projects” The Elder said.
“Elder, I just told you that its a surprise thing, at the right time you will know what I’m talking about, would you plea-se excuse me” Mrs. Johnson said and went into her room.
After awhile she c@m£ back with a white envelope containing money.
“Elder, I really appreciate your efforts and concern about this issue. Not all men can act in such a manner, kindly take this as a token from me” Mrs. Johnson said stretching out the money to him.
” Mrs. Johnson I’m afraid I can’t take this, the board nee-ds to come in on this” said the Elder.
“Of course the board will know, who said anything about keeping it a secret, this is just not the right time to involve them. You can’t reject GHC 1000 from me that way. Just use for your transportation and up keep. I’m very much aware you nee-d it ” said Mrs. Johnson.
The Elder took the money and said ” thank you. I will see what I can do to keep this away from the board for now, I must take my leave. ” He said and went away. Mrs. Johnson
knew she had succeeded in shutting him up. Juliet and Mrs. Nelson were still catching up with the old time. Juliet was in complete shock when she got to know that Mr. Johnson was actually her biological father.
“But Mum, why didn’t he tell me all this, when he adopted me” Juliet asked. “You still don’t get it my daughter, he was protecting you from his wife, Juliet. You really don’t know what she is capable of” Mrs Nelson said.
“I can’t believe this, its like a dream, you’re actually my mother and I have been un-der my Father’s care all this while without knowing” Juliet said. She couldn’t control the tears in her eyes. She was now beginning to accept the reality.
“Juliet, I thought, Daniel will be with you, Where is he? Mrs. Nelson asked. ” I thought I will be meeting him here myself” Juliet said. “Daniel hmmm, he really made a lot of revelation to me, Juliet there is more to your father’s death than you alre-ady know ” Said Mrs. Nelson . “What is it that I don’t know mother, tell Me” Juliet desperately asked. “Who is Jax? She is the main pivot of
this….
Episode 24

“Who is Jax? She is the main pivot of this” Mrs. Nelson said. ” I don’t un-derstand Mum. Jax is an usher at our church and is very committed to her duty,” Juliet said.
” You won’t un-derstand my daughter. Don’t worry, that moment will come. For now it will be very ha-rd for you to take it, I’m just happy my daughter has finally returned to me. Look, let me take you home and show you around” Mrs. Nelson said. They got re-ady and left the office.
James on the other hand had an offer for his drugs to be bought at GHC 80,000. That was higher than usual. He was up for it. He agreed to meet the person to seal the deal, get his money and eventually pay Alice off. James then went home from Alice’s place. He was unaware that Ben had been re-leased. As soon as he got home, he had a phone call.. The call was from the police headquarters where Ben was arrested.
On Phone:
CID: “Mr James, Good day. ”
James: “Yeah, Good day, how may I help you?”
CID: ” I just called to inform you that Ben was
re-leased this morning.”
James: ” What! How could you do such a thing?
Who authorized that?”
CID: ” We found no evidence against him.
Besides, the victim has not testified that or made
any formal report.”
James: “No! no! you can’t let such a criminal to be
walking around like that. What about the phone
lines that were cut off, was that not enough?”
CID: ” We are going to look into it but until then,
he is not our primary suspect. I will let you get
the upd@t£s of whatever happens but until then,
bye.”
The CID hangs up on him.
James was not happy about the re-lease of Ben. It was now obvious that he was the one who made the report. .
“I see you are not happy about my re-lease James. So you actually made the report for me to be arrested,” Ben said standing at the door leading to his room. James all along didn’t notice that he was there and was actually listening to his conversation. James was surprised to see him there. He didn’t know how to cover up any more. “What were you thinking of? You were supposed to meet her and tell her your feelings and not to r@p£ her” James said. “How could you? Upon all that I’ve done for you? Tell me, was the handkerchief really from Juliet and who was behind the phone lines being cut off? As far as I’m concerned, I never did that. James, did you frame me up or what? Ben asked. “You can think of whatever you wanna think. I wonder how Juliet will feel when she finds out
you were the one who put her into this mess” James said and walked out on him. Ben found it very ha-rd to believe. How could his own brother do such a thing looking at what he had done for him in the past. What he was worried about was how Juliet will
take it when he confesses to her.
Mrs. Johnson got out of her room when she heard James’s voice. It seemed she was going out, looking at how she had dressed. “I thought I heard James’s voice,” Mrs. Johnson
said. “He is in his room” Ben answered with a bitter tone. That was unusual of him. His mother noticed it.
“What is wrong with you boy?” she asked.
“Nothing” Ben answered straight forward.
“Why are you giving me such straight forward answers? Remember I’m still you mother. I demand some respect” Mrs. Johnson said. Ben ignored her, he was just mute and kept
watching her as she talked. From his actions, Mrs. Johnson knew that Ben really heard something from the conversation she had with Jax earlier on.
“Anyway, I’m going for a meeting. I will see you when I get back” Mrs. Johnson said. “Should I drive you? Ben asked since he was the one who usually does that even though they had a family driver. “No, you nee-d some rest. The driver will drive me” she said and left. Ben instantly knew that she was up to something. He however knew what to do. Mrs. Nelson and Juliet had arrived at her house. Juliet was surprised to see that the house was so hvge that, you could easily forget the way in trying to locate your room.
The compound was a large area with a lot of cars. Indeed Mrs. Nelson was really a wealthy woman. From the look on Juliet’s face, Mrs. Nelson could tell that she was amazed by what she saw. “Juliet, welcome to your home. This is my house and as matter of fact, your house. All I have belongs to you. God blessed me with all this after I ventured into exportation of our made in Ghana goods. Juliet my daughter, I have been building all this wealth for you to take over some day” Mrs. Nelson said
“Mum, I’m just happy to have found you mother. ” Juliet said
“Listen my daughter , no b©dy nee-ds to know who you are or even of my existence. You will go back and anytime you nee-d something, just call me” Mrs. Nelson said.
“But why mother?” Juliet said “The more you know, the more I put you into a very big risk. Trust me, the right time will come” Mrs. Nelson said.
Meanwhile James was also getting re-ady to go and do his drug transaction. He had agreed with the buyer to meet him in the next hour. He dressed up and without telling anyone, he left the house and went to the meeting point . He got to the place 10 minutes and met no one. It was an uncompleted building in an isolated place. It was secured enough to transact such an illegal business. He tried calling the buyer’s number but the phone was off. After some few minutes, he head footsteps approaching him. It was the buyer. He turned around and to his amazement it was Daniel. Before he could open his mouth to talk, a whole bunch of police men started coming out from their hide out. He was surrounded by the policemen….
