EPISODE TWENTYSemi Final)i:

{ TEDDY’S POV}

Damilare was your typical African rich fat man. He owns a large pot belly, short big legs and a cubby folded n£¢k that was as greasy as his face.

” What are you doing with my wife?” He had asked.

” Damilare!” It was Della. ” What are you doing in my house?”

He turned his eyes back to her. ” I wasn’t talking to you, you old witch! I’m here for the boy!”

Della looked like she was about to explode. ” That’s not happening. Get your stinking as-s out of my house!”

Damilare gritted at me. He pointed a f!nger at me then at my clothes. ” Put your clothes on, boy. You and I are going somewhere.”

Della jumped down from the be-d and marched up to me with rage in her voice. ” You’re not going anywhere.”

” Will you put some clothes on?!” Damilare barked at me. ” Don’t listen to her. You listen to me!”

I had no idea who to listen to; Della or her husband. I picked my clothes and begun dressing up.

Della glared at her husband or ex husband if I’m not mistaking. ” You fat cow! How dare you barge into my house unannounced?”

” I don’t have time for this,” he grimaced in disgust and turned away.

” Oh no you don’t,” she drew him back and yelled at him. ” You interrupted a very crucial moment with my lover, that is something I’ve never done to any of your lovers. Now you taking him away from me. What in God’s name is your problem. I thought we’re divorced for good!”

” If it weren’t for my good reputation with the cops, I wouldn’t even be this godforsaken house of yours.” He held her Shoulders and scowled at her. ” Else by now you’d be dragged into jail this very moment.”

Her face whitened. ” Cops?!”

” That’s right,” he re-leased her and took a step back. ” Someone gave you away to the cops. They knew you kidnapped the boy. The cops would’ve took action but because they respect me and my family name, they placed me on a call requesting for the boy to be given to them to aviod lots of embarras-sment.”

Della grew red in the face. She didn’t say anything.

Damilare continued. ” I can’t believe you went all the way to kidnap a str!pper to satisfy your S-xual fantasy. I know you’ve done worse things but this one was the worse of the lot.”

” I wouldn’t have done it if that manager of his hadn’t turned down my offer!” She defended herself.

I looked sharply at her, still wearing my jeans. ” What manager?”

” Dada,” she scowled at me. ” I approached him a week ago with the intentions of buying you.”

My eyes grew wi-de. Damilare just glared at her as if she was from a madhouse.

” I offered him a handsome amount of money,” she continued, folding her arms. ” I wanted Teddy to be mine and mine alone, you know. I figured if I can buy him off the club, I’d have him all to myself. I’m that selfish, sharing isn’t my kind of thing that’s why I refused paying for a pri-vate session cause I knew he’d be paid for other women to use as well. Also I kinda fell in love with the way Teddy danced, moved and the lots. I decided I was going to buy him. But Dada wouldn’t have it. He said something about Teddy not being for sale. Since I couldn’t have Teddy, I decided no one else is going to have him as well.” She smiled. ” I get jealous when he’s with other women. One night, I think, I got drun!kand ran a woman down with my car. This woman was going to have some special time together with my TEDDY so I took action.”

Damilare and I shouted. ” You’re crazy!!!”

” Oh yeah?” She glared at the two of us. ” Not until I found out you’re married to Dada.”

I froze. ” H–how did yo–”

” Spying,” she smiled more and sat on the be-d. ” That’s the more reason why I kidnapped you. I couldn’t imagine you being married to a j£rk like Dada. I realized that’s why he refused my offer.”

Damilare glanced at me from the corner of his eyes. I looked away.

Della sighed contentedly, crossing one leg over the other. ” Well, I’d say I had the most fantastic time of my life. I intended to threaten you with death so you can give me your best. I’m impressed. Trust me, I’ve never been this satisfied in a long time.”

” You’re the most disgusting woman I’ve ever met!” Damilare yelled. ” I can’t believe I married a who-re.”

She barked back at him. ” Oh I’m a who-re I’m I? What about you? Having more than ten mistress and six girlfriends. You’re the one who started this sh*t! I’m glad we’re divorced.”

” I agree,” he stepped towards her. ” But I’ve never kidnapped anyone to fulfill any stupid S-xual fantasy nor have I ran a woman down out of jealously.”

” You will, honey,” she fluttered her lashes at him. ” You will, by the time you find a girl as beautiful and as exciting as Teddy. It’s just a matter of time. Don’t worry, you’ll get there. I as-sure you.”

” Do you realize how lucky you are?” Damilare pointed a f!nger at her. ” If it weren’t for my good relationsh!pwith the police, you’d be in handcuffs now.”

” I don’t care if you invited the army!” She stood up, walked to the window and threw open the curtains. I could see policemen outside the gates with guns. I could also see my sister and Dada.

Della waved her hand to the police outside. ” Get them up in my room. Tell them I sle-pt with Teddy. Tell them I kidnapped him, tell them I’m responsible for that young lady’s accident. I don’t care what you tell them. Get me arrested if you wish. But I as-sure you, Teddy will go along with me. He’s married to Dada. If the cops find out, he’d face trial and get fourteen years in jail for g@y practices.”

I stepped back in shock. She was speaking s-en-se. Without Dada’s license permit which were only governing the club, I had no hope of escaping jail if my marriage with Dada got discovered.

I looked at Damilare and I saw he was watching me with a deadpan expression. He stared at me for the next few seconds then returned to his ex wife.

” No b©dy is going to get you arrested, Della. There’s no nee-d to get dramatic.”

She shrugged. ” I was just placing the outcome of the situation on ground. Besides, I love Teddy. I wouldn’t love him ending up in jail.” She went to an inbuilt bar close to her makeup table and drew out a bottle of Scotch. ” No. I don’t think I’ll like that.”

” Della,” Damilare growled. ” Let’s end this once and for all. I’m taking the boy home.”

” Ofcourse, ofcourse,” she made herself a stiff drink and sat on the be-d. ” But it’s left to him to decide.”

” I want to go home,” I spoke.

She drank her Scotch. ” Easy, Teddy. Not Soo fast. The last time I checked, you don’t have a home. Dada even got you fired. Come on boy, don’t you like it here? I can make you a home right here. I’ve got many rooms, I’ve got an indoor swimming pool, a pri-vate yatch and fancy cars. If you wish to school, I’ll school you abroad. You don’t nee-d Dada. Ditch him and come to me. I’ll give you a fun time if you make me happy. I can also–”

” I want to go home.”

She shrugged. ” It’s your life, boy. I’m not going to f0rç£ you but don’t you think–”

” Della shut the hell up!” Damilare shouted.

She shouted at him as well. ” I wasn’t talking to you so you shut up!”

He gr@bb£d her shoulders and shooked her ha-rd . ” You lousy slut, that’s my son you sle-pt with!”

I was petrified.

Della’s mouth opened then closed. The glas-s of Scotch fell from her hand and smashed to the ground.

” Y–y…your son?”

[ Teddy’s POV]

We were all at the station.

Dada, Simi, Damilare, Cas-sy, Jenny, Bridget and Della.

It was like a conference meeting. Everyone sat around as the inspector general of police sat down behind his desk and began.

” Let’s start from you, Mr Damilare. What is your story?”

Simi and I sat by the window, watching this big fat man who claims to be our father.

Damilare cleared his throat. ” It’s quite complicated. You see, my marriage with Della here failed and we got divorced. But before then, I got a girl pregnant. She was a third year student in the university and well, she was into the business of slee-ping with men for money. I met her and we had a good time together. Eventually I grew to like her and our meeting bec@m£ more frequent. When she told me she was pregnant, I gave her money to ab-ort the child. I didn’t see her for a whole year. The next we met, she was in her final year and still looked fresh and normal. I thought she must’ve done the ab-ortion so we resumed our love life. We began going out more often and when she graduated, I got her a job in one of my companies where she worked for the next four years. One day, however, she brou-ght news she was pregnant again with a girl child. At that moment, I was facing a terrible family crisis with my Della and a lot were on my head. I couldn’t afford to get distracted so I ignored her and focused on my marriage. I never heard from her again. She quit the job and traveled out of the state. The next I got news on her, she died during child labour. I was heartbroken because I loved her. Then I discovered she didn’t ab-ort the first pregnancy as I paid her to. She kept the boy and girl at an orphanage. The boy was just four years of age and the girl, two months old. I knew the orphanage they were kept but I had no interest in them because of my toxic marriage problems. At long last, Della and I got divorced and we shared the family’s wealth and dep@rted. By that time, I’d completely forgotten the children. For the next fifteen years nothing happened until I received a call from Dada’s office. That’s how I got to know about my children and Marcel’s kidnapping.”

The room was silent for a while then the IG spoke. ” And what about you, Dada? How did you get Mr Damilare?”

” It’s pretty simple,” Dada explained. ” Marcel once told me how he’d escaped from the orphanage with his sister. When he got kidnapped, I went digging into the orphanage file for the first time since I met him. That’s how I found Damilare.”

Another silence.

” Well,” the IG sighed, mopping his face with a handkerchief. ” This is one tough case. I don’t even know where to start. Mrs Damilare–”

” My name is Della,” Della hissed. ” Don’t call me by that stupid name.”

The IG frowned. ” Don’t you dare speak to me in that manner, ma’am! If it weren’t for the good relationsh!pI have with your husband–”

” Ex husband!” She corrected.

” I don’t suppose you un-derstand the implication of what you just did, ma’am. You could get a life s£ntence for this.”

She laughed and stood up. ” It’s fine. I mean it’s not as if it’s the end of the world. My husband had children outside our marriage without me knowing and of all people to fv¢k me, I got fv¢ked by my stepson. That’s incredible isn’t it?”

” Woman you’d better–”

” I’m not going to stay here and listen to all these trash. This is a shocker and I’m not re-ady to receive another one. I’m leaving,” and she turned and left the office.

” Ma’am….,” The IG stood up.

” Let her go,” Damilare said.

The IG didn’t st©p her. He returned back to me. ” Umm… Marcel. Let’s talk about you and your sister.”

” There’s nothing to talk about,” I stood up with my sister, a big frown on my face. ” I just want to return back home.”

Damilare turned to look at me but I refused meeting his eyes. Simi held me ti-ght. She was glaring at the same man we should be calling father.

” Sir,” Dada leaned forward at the IG. ” I think it’d be better if we drop this case. I can handle all the paperworks. There’s no nee-d to stress this into the press for the sake of the kids.”

Damilare joined in. ” I agree with him. A lot has happened but let’s overlook it.”

The IG stro-ked his beard as he watched Simi and I leaving the office. ” You think I’m just going to overlook this just like that?”

The last thing I heard before closing the door was Damilare saying something about ma-king the IG a fine settlement.

The moment I closed the door and was all alone with Simi, I drew her close to me.

But she pushed me away with all her strength and begun sniffing with tears falling off her eyes.

” Simi…. what’s wrong?!”

She glared at me and I g@sped. Her eyes were red and burning.

” Why did you marry Dada?!”
