The killer’s burial Episode 1 & 2

THE KILLER’S BURIAL
Episode One (18+)

I lived with my parents and my younger sister Lisa. Dad was a successful businessman and mum a Civil Servant that rose to the level of a Director. Uncle Gilbert is our cook. He’s been my parent’s cook even before my sister and I were born. A very nice and ha-rd working man. Uncle Gilbert is older than dad and ought to be living with his family. But he refused to get settled due to reasons best known to him. My uncle, dad’s younger brother visited one day, he told dad that he nee-ded a piece of one of his landed properties in the village.

And the p@rticular one he was demanding was the one dad kept for me whenever I’m re-ady to build. But dad had told him severally that he should take any other plot, but for that p@rticular piece it was reserved for me.

Dad called for a meeting that evening, mum, my sister, myself, uncle Gilbert and my uncle (dad’s brother) Mr Ike were all pres£nt in the meeting. Dad informed uncle Gilbert (our cook) that he has decided to settle him in order for to go and take care of himself. Because he was getting no younger.

Uncle Gilbert was in his early sixties at the time and really nee-ded a break from the chores he does. Dad to him that Lisa my sister have come of age and can handle most of the chores including the cooking. Uncle Gilbert tried to convince dad that he can still do the job, though he still looked strong enough to do the chores he does.

But dad told him he had made up his mind, he promised him good settlement both in cash and otherwise. He (uncle Gilbert) accepted the offer, though his facial expressions showed discontent.

Dad pleaded with uncle Ike (his brother) to accept the portion he was offering and take his eyes off the one he kept for me. He as well reluctantly accepted the offer. Uncle Gilbert went in to prepare dinner and in less than an hour it (dinner) was served. We all ate a well prepared meal from uncle Gilbert as usual.

Uncle Ike remained restless all throu-gh the night and was going in and out of the kitchen at intervals while Uncle Gilbert prepared the meal. After dinner, we said our family prayers and all went to be-d. That was the last night my sister and I saw our parents alive.

They didn’t wake up the next morning. We were re-ady for school and was waiting for mum and dad to take us to school as usual. We all leave the house at the same time everyday. Dad would drop us off at school, take mum to her office before going for his business. But that was the last time such happened.

We all waited in vain that morning. Uncle Gilbert was the one who went to their room after much waiting to discover their lifeless bodies. It was the beginning of great sorrow for Lisa and I……. Who killed of our parents bec@m£ the big question on everyone’sl-ips

Who was the killer of our parents bec@m£ the big question on everyone’sl-ips……

It was a very dark moment for my sister and I. Uncle Gilbert has been with us in the house for many years. Infact, he’s been our parent’s cook even before we were born (my sister and I). No one could possibly point an accusing f!nger at him. It wasn’t food poisoning, yet everyone wondered how their deaths c@m£ about. Uncle Ike and uncle Gilbert were both arrested by the law enf0rç£ment agency for interrogations, but were later re-leased due to no substantial evidences. Dad and mom were buried few weeks after, then my sister and I returned to life without our parents, our mentors, our hero and heroin. It was a new phase all together in our lives.

Uncle Ike stayed back in the village after the burials, promised to visiting us from time to time. We went back to the city with uncle Gilbert, who now bec@m£ a father and mother to us. I was the next of kin to my dad, everything he owned were willed to me, even though some were in my sister’s name. I was still a little boy in the secondary school, though almost rounding up. Uncle Gilbert knew much about dad’s business, so he handled them really well and saw my sister and I throu-gh secondary and University education. Dad had the plans the that we (my sister and I) did our university education abroad and uncle Gilbert was able to do that. And really handled dad’s business as though they were his. He pla-yed the roles of dad and mum, he made sure we didn’t feel their abs£nce. Even though we will forever miss their abs£nce no matter what uncle Gilbert did.

Uncle Ike always visited as promised, he was always asking after our well being. He forfeited all interests in the land dad told him to stay away from and built on the one dad gave to him. He left my own land for me. Uncle Ike was really a nice uncle, I never in a day put in mind that he or uncle Gilbert were responsible for our parent’s death. That was why their deaths remained a mystery to me until I discovered who the real killer was.

I graduated from a prestigious university abroad, likewise my sister two years after. Uncle Gilbert put me throu-gh things I nee-ded to know about dad’s business and then handed over everything to me. I bec@m£ the C. E. O with many staffs un-der my watch. I struggled to pick up, but uncle Gilbert was always there to put me throu-gh. My sister got a job with an oil firm and was doing pretty well. I handled dad’s business for a year and got acclimatized with the whole thing. One day, two years after I bec@m£ the CEO of dad’s business, I called uncle Gilbert and invited uncle Ike to inform them of my decision to settle down. I really wanted a woman that will come in and relieve uncle Gilbert of the many chores he had to un-dergo everyday. Lisa (my kid sis) was always busy with her job. I brou-ght the woman I wanted settling down with and introduced her to them. After the introduction, she stayed the night in my place to go back the next morning. I woke up only to discover she was dead.

Episode Three (18+)

I called uncle Gilbert and invited uncle Ike to inform them of my decision to settle down. I really wanted a woman that will come in and relieve uncle Gilbert of the many chores he had to un-dergo everyday. Lisa (my kid sis?) was always busy with her job. I brou-ght the woman I wanted settling down with and introduced her to them. After the introduction, she stayed the night in my place to go back the next morning. I woke up only to discover she was dead.

it was another sad and confusing moment. Once again, Uncle Ike was around when it happened and uncle Gilbert as well. They all showed great acceptance to her. She didn’t eat the meal prepared by uncle Gilbert that night, because she was watching her weight according to her. We only toasted to a glas-s of wine 🍷 and ate some chicken I had bought from an eatery. My room was well locked for anyone to have gained access and I stayed awake almost all throu-gh the night working on some business deals that nee-ded to be cleared the next morning. I only sle-pt for about two to three hours, only to wake up and discover her dead. How do I explain that a lady I just brou-ght home to introduce to my people died just like that with me alone in the room.

I tried waking her up, but she was stiff with her whole b©dy cold. I called on uncle Ike and Gilbert. Uncle Ike’s room was the one next to mine. The only way anyone would have gained access to my room may be when I went downstairs in the middle of the night to check on my dog that was barking continuously. But it didn’t take me up-to five minutes and I c@m£ up. The annoying and confusing thing was that there were always no trace of strangling or poison whenever those deaths occurred. I was arrested and detained for weeks before finally I was re-leased. Uncle Ike stayed back and made sure I was re-leased and uncle Gilbert handled the business while I was in detention. I c@m£ out of detention, took some days off to rest before resuming duties in my office. While in detention, after many interrogations from the police officers, I was asked if there was anyone I might suspecting. My taught ran towards uncle Gilbert because he has more access to my room and had all spare keys to the house. But it wasn’t uncle Gilbert, neither was it uncle Ike, then who was responsible?.

I had made up my mind to get married, and I mourned my late girlfriend for about a year. I had to go plead with her parents, because they knew my love for their daughter and knew there was no way I would have killed her. They gave me their cons£nt to take another woman and get settled. Uncle Ike followed me to plead with them and seek their cons£nt. Because he was always visiting to know how we were faring. Once again, I took my new wife to be home after I met with her people, in other for me to introduce them to uncle Gilbert and my sister. It was a good time together with everyone as everyone once showed signs of acceptance of her. I left my l@pt©p charging in the sitting room when I went to be-d, then I woke up later in the middle of the night to pick it up because I nee-ded it to work out somethings at the time. Going back to my room, I saw uncle Ike coming out from the opposite direction of my room, he had gone to take a bottle of wine from the fridge there. He drinks wine a lot. I went back to my room, t©uçhed my woman, her whole b©dy was cold. Again, another one was dead mysteriously……..
