Episode 13 & 14
SHE c@mÂŁ throu-gh
Cra-p cra-p cra-p! I still couldnât get over that little stunt I had pla-yed this morning. How in Godâs name was I able to do that? Well, for what it was worth, I enjoyed every bit of it even though I was as well scared out of my mind.
How I wished I could know what was actually going on his mind, I noticed he was amused kind of but he hid itz properly! God I hope I wasnât being so stupid!
Ever since hours ago that it had happened, I just couldnât st©p thinking about everythingâŠthn my mind drifted to Ben.
âDonât worry Ben, I will never cheat on you, Iâm just doing everything to make me come back to you.â I Said out loud.
âIâm sure he will un-derstand.â Madam Koffi replied.
We were both at the attic, the only place we could talk freely.
âTell me about Ben.â She said softly, while helping me to weave my hair into corn rows.
I smiled as my fianceâs cute face popped into my memory. âWe met at Junoir High , we âve been friends since then and I had this might crush on him right from Junoir High
. Later he went to Georgia to study and c@mÂŁ back, we met again, continued our friendsh!pand voila! We just cli-cked. He didnât ask me out and I didnât ask him out either
. We just k!$$ÂŁd and we started. It was like magic.â
âWow! That must have been so beautiful.â
âYes it was. I wish I can just find my ring though. Itâs the only way I feel as if heâs with me, he travels a lot and the ring gives me this warmth anytime I have it around my f!nger.â I shut my eyes as I thought of how badly I missed him and how much he must be doing to find me.
âSo your friends pushed you to asking a random guy out?â
I nodded. âThey were quite harmless you know. It was just a stupid bet and thank God I had the ring with me, it saved my life!â
âYou can go ask him, you know.â
âI can?â
âYes. If you are going to be staying here for a while he would want to do everything to make you happy.â
âYou are right. I will ask him, infactâŠâ I said, standing up. âIâm going to ask him right now.â

Calvin was in his study having an online conference meeting with his investorsâŠhe looked angry as it seemed like his investors were not happy with him.
âLook Mr CalvinâŠâ One of the white olderly men in suit on the screen started. âwe think this has been going for too long and we are not happy about this. You go about threatening us on our money and we havenât even seen you face to face, this is becoming quite uncomfortable for us. The last time I went to England to find you, I was told you died and now you want us to believe that people are after you and that is why you went to Africa to hide?â
Calvin rammed his hand against the table.
âWould you shut the hell up and let me explain myself?â
âNo! We wouldnât shut up. You have been doing the talking all along and its time you listen to us too!â Another man said and all of a sudden all the men were talking at onceâŠ.
Calvin could feel his rage building graduallyâŠhe was losing control and if he loses control, his business would sufferâŠ
âMr Calvin, we are sorry, we are all going to pu-ll out ifâŠ.â
âHello gentleman, plea-se letâs all calm down shall weâŠâ
Calvin was startled as he heard a voice in his study, it was the lady. What the hell was she doing here! He stood up angrily to address her but she quic-kly maneuvered her way to the screen, with some papers in her hands, so he had to step back so as not to lose his entire credibility in front of his investors, instead he pressed a bu-tton on his phone to summon the guards.
âI am so sorry gentlemen, I should have been here on time but my plane got delayed and trust me, everything I went to do were for your own good.â
The gentlemen exchanged glances. âWho the hell are you?â
Sonia smiled. âOh, I am his P.A.l. plea-se call me Sonia, you see I never for once liked the idea of doing business with men who are not sure if you are alive or you are dead, I mean, we are talking about money here, what if he disappears forever oneday then all your money vanishes with him andâŠâ
The guards c@mÂŁ in but Calvin signaled to them to chill as he realized Sonia actually got the gentlemenâs attention.
âExactly Miss Sonia, exactly our thoughts.â One of the men said again, as the others agreed with him.
âWell, itâs good that we are on the same page and believe me, Mr Calvin really has your interest in mind, he just sÂŁnt me to organize a grand venue somewhere in South Africa for you folksâŠâ
The men exchanged glances again as if they werenât followingâŠ.
âThis doesnât mean you all nee-d to fly down here. I mean, we are all busy trying to make more money right?â She said with a laugh and the others laughed too, meanwhile, Calvin signaled to the guards to disperse.
âWell, I am sure if none of you is presÂŁntly in Africa right now, you can always sÂŁnd a represÂŁntative to confirm that Mr. Calvin is alive, he is healthy and he isnât going anywhere, this way, you can be sure that the person that has been addressing you all the while is not an imposter.â
Calvin just as the men nodded their heads and later cl@pped.
âGood thoughts Mr. Calvin, really good plans. Why didnât you say all these earlier?â Another man asked and everyone was looking at Calvin now. Sonia hoped he would go with the flow, after all, she just helped him save his business.
âWell, sorry about that gentlemen, the truth is, I was coming to that but you just werenât listening and now I know that beautiful women always get the menâs attention.â
The men laughed and nodded. Sonia couldnât believe Calvin just said that, she chuckled slightly to herself.
âWell, Mr. Calvin and our beautiful Sonia, we shall be hearing from you soon we hope.?â
âYes you shall, once we are throu-gh with the arrangement in the next few hours, we will sÂŁnd you the venue and the time. So, all you nee-d to do is to come up with represÂŁntatives.â
âGood talk Mr Calvin.â
âThanks gentlemen.â
The men smiled at Sonia before Calvin put off the screen.
âWhat the hell were you thinking?â He growled at her , de-epening his eye brows.
âWow! In case you hadnât noticed, I just helped save your business.â
âI didnât ask you to, did I, Sonia?â He demanded.
âI donât know what your problem isâŠ.Calvin, but I do know that you nee-d to come up with a p@rty plan as soon as possible.â
âI could have handled that myself.â He said stubbornly.
âObviously, I saw you were doing a pretty good job yourself.â Sonia said with sarcasm. âBy the way, saying âthank youâ wouldnât hurt at all.â As she was about to leaveâŠ
âHey, I think this belongs to you.â
She looked back and in his hand was her ring, that softened her anger somehow and she caught it as he threw at her.
âYou are welcome.â She said to him before leaving the room, she was gradually realizing that, this man has a problem of voicing out his emotionsâŠ.well, she would be the one to f0rç£ them out eventually.
Calvin sat down in his seat and let out an exasperated sigh. âThank you Sonia, you just saved the work of a decade.â
He muttered to himself before reaching for his phone.

They settled for a Royal Chinese Cuisine somewhere in an area of South Africa. It was the most beautiful restaurant Sonia has ever seen.
She looked around at the filled tables, there was not a doubt that each person there, was someone of a high nobility except her of course but who would have noticed, in the cloth she was wearing, those beautiful stiletto shoes and the flawless makeover, the gentlemen she had shaken hands with earlier all couldnât st©p k!ss!ngher hands.
Now, the men were busy talking business while she just sat, sipping her delicious wine. Four represÂŁntatives had come and they were all white men, each having a guard behind him.
Sonia focused on the ambient music that was being pla-yed by the live band, she enjoyed every minute of it even though she had no idea what the word meant.
While they sat at the table and the men discussed, she couldnât help but stole occasional glances at Calvin.
. If this was his formal look, then he looked even more dashing in itâŠ.his blonde hair appeared more curled and even more shiny
. His blue-back-suit and wine tie gave him a reckless dashing appearance and he looked even more dangerous âŠh0tâŠ
What? Did she just say he looked h0t? Oh God! Sonia quic-kly averted her gaze and gulped down the remaining of her drink.
Something was off though
. All the investors looked quite old, the youngest amongst them couldnât have been lesser than fifty and yet Calvin seemed in his late twenties or early thirties. Where did he meet all these people?
It was a table for five, the men were sitting at one while she sat at an adjacent table for two. She was the only one there. They nee-ded to discuss pri-vately and Calvin wanted to keep an eye on her even though there was a guard with her, he was standing behind her while she sat and sipped her wine. With this arrangement, she could glance towards them as often as she liked .
Calvin had a c0cky smile, you know that type that involves only the pu-lling of one cheek, yeah that one, as he listened to one of the men and he had that S-xy look as if he was having a mischief up his sleeveâŠwhile he listened to the men, their eyes c@mÂŁ into contact for the first time that evening and she had to look away.
Damn it! That idiot knew I was looking at him all long, no wonder he had that stupid smile. He knew!
Sonia signaled to another waiter. She was only doing all this because of Ben, just because of Ben and to get back to him as soon as she could.

Some minutes after, after the Business men had left, Calvin realized Sonia wasnât where he had last seen her.
âWhere is she?â He asked the guard he had put in charge of her.
âAt the bar.â The guard replied.
âIdiot, you are supposed to stay with her.â
âShe said I was chasing away potential suitors.â The guard replied but Calvin shook his head and went to meet her at the bar.
He noticed she was laughing with one man who was busy talking with her and the way she threw her head back while laughing reminded him of one woman âŠwho he tried ha-rd not to think ofâŠthat was actually funny since he hadnât even thought of Trister for many days now.
He knew he nee-ded to be mature so as not to draw any attention to himself.

SONIA
I noticed Calvin but was surprised how he hadnât said a single word to interrupt my discussion with the man I was talking to.
Even though all our discussions were quite stupid, well, I though I could make him jealous by having fun with another man, I nee-ded this plan to work atleast, Madam Koffi said a challenge always works.
âYou have such a beautiful beard Michael.â I said to the man.
â..and you are the most beautiful lady I have ever seen.â Michael replied, taking my hand to hisl-ipsâŠwhile he k!$$ÂŁd my hand , I really wished Calvin would come and act all possessive, so I could finally floor him with my k!ssing-the-stranger-plan, however , I was surprised when he saw us and instead stood at my other side so I was facing Michael while backing him.
âTwo cu-ps of Martini plea-se.â He said and I smiled , he definitely was ordering that for me, maybe the plan would work after all.
âWow. Thanks handsome, you are such a gentleman.â I heard a female say, that was when I realized he was talking to another woman and had bought a drink for her as well. Didnât he see me?
âWell, a beautiful lady like you shouldnât stay at the bar alone.â Calvin kept on saying to this man, Michael was talking but I was listening to someone else.
âShould we get out of here?â I heard the woman say to him and without further a do, I noticed him leaving with the woman in a ti-ght b©dy hvg mini dress, I couldnât even see her face.
âHey, baby, are you listening to me?â Michael asked but I wasnât, instead, I overheard Calvin telling the guard-âhey, make sure she doesnât leave that bar until I come okay.â Then he disappeared into the crowd.
That sly! Damn it! I hate him!
