THE BILLIONAIRE’S P.A
EPISODE SEVENTY NINE
I went back to my station after staring at my reflection unable to straighten my face. I was glowing like a frigging sixteen year old simply because a guy told me he loves me. The feeling was exhilarating.
“Are you okay brother?.”
Catherina inquired. She had no idea what was going through my head. If Van was leaving his wife, he’ll go after Elena and I might loose her.
“Are you sure he’s going to leave her?”
The weird thing was that Octavia didn’t look like someone who was just about to loose her husband.
“Does his wife know?..”
“They’ve been having issues but he hasn’t really broken the news to her yet.”
“Why are you so concerned?”
She added making me shake my head.
“It’s nothing. I guess I’m just surprised that’s all.”
I chuckled lightly to ease the tension.
“Alright then. I didn’t come to gossip. How’s my brother doing..”She beamed and took a seat.
This time, I zoned out again thinking of ways to ensure Van doesn’t brain wash Elena for the second time.
I was on my phone when his office door creaked open, Catherina walked out full of smiles. I couldn’t greet her properly having a lot on my mind but I managed to say hello.
After she left, I was worried Damon would request for me. Would we go back to where we left off or did he not want to do anything anymore? Everything is happening so fast that I can barely keep track.
Sadly, he didn’t call for me. In fact, I didn’t see him for the rest of the day. It was sad because I felt as if he thought everything that happened was a mistake and he probably regrets it.
When the day was over, I felt reluctant to inform him of my departure. I simply grabbed my purse and made my way out of the building.
As I was about to board a taxi, a figure appeared in front of me.
I gasped in sheer annoyance.
“You’re stalking me now…”
“Elena, I just want you to listen to me for the ten minutes. Hear me out and then I swear to you I’ll leave you alone. Just ten minutes.”
He pleaded. My lips had already formed a negative response but realising that this might be my only chance of getting rid of him, I agreed letting him lead the way to his car.
“After this, I never want to see your face ever again.”
“When you hear me out, it’s your choice if you want to see me or not. You never heard my side of the story.”
“I doubt anything you say could make it better.”
“I’m leaving Octavia.”
He dropped the bomb shell opening the door for me.
“I’m leaving her. For good.”
He added helping me in. That was just the introduction to his revelation I presume. My mind was made up. There’s nothing Van would tell me to make me hate him even less. Nothing at all.
Do you think she’s right? Can her mind be influenced? Read on. Find out.
“Firstly, I want to say after your ten minutes if I ever see so much as your shadow or any of your men close to me, I’ll sue you. I’ve had more than enough. I want you out of my life. This is the last time we’ll speak to each other.”
“That all depends on you.”
He responded then exhaled.
“Your time begins now. Say what you have to say.”
“I’m sorry Elena. That has to be the first thing. I acted like a jerk. It was wrong of me to have an affair with you while I was engaged and I couldn’t even protect you. Then, I kidnapped you and made you run away. I acted Possessive when you were not a property and for that, I’m sorry.”
He breathed pausing for a second.
“I can’t say I’ll ever forget those things but I hold no grudge against you anymore. I’ve moved on.”
That wasn’t a total lie. I have forgiven Van a long time ago. It’s the only way I was able to live with myself.
“I want you to know that I never meant to hurt you. I was forced to marry Octavia and I only did those things so I wouldn’t loose the company at that time. I couldn’t loose you or the company so I acted crazy. I’m sorry.”
His words sank in and I felt a sense of closure. For the first time in years, the hole Van left in my heart had disappeared. Hearing him speak all these words made things a little better.
“Seven minutes left.”
I reminded him clearing my throat.
“After living with Octavia for years, I’m fed up. I have to get a dirvoice and I have to get my freedom back. I’m saying this because I want you to know that although I screwed things up, I would always care about you. Always.”
He says and I looked away brushing my hair.
“I did terrible things to you and I’m sorry but I sincerely want to make you for them. I’ve been a jerk even as of recent. I want to fix my errors somehow and I hope you give me a chance too. I’m sorry for the harm, pain, hurt I caused you. It was never my intention. I’m sorry Elena.”
I huffed out and held my other hand.
“That’s all I have to say. It may be late but I realised my mistakes after I left your place. I felt less of a man. I felt like a failure and you gave me a reality check. I’ll do better. I promise.”
“Van, I don’t know what to say. I’m happy you want to be good and fix things but don’t do it for me. Be better for yourself. Don’t do them because you want a chance with me because after everything that happened, I’m not sure there can ever be an us.”
I exhaled then continued.
“I’m sorry Van but you’ve given me the closure I needed. Thank you.”
I smiled and he exhaled in relief.
“I hope you find what you’re looking for. I don’t hate you.”
I chewed on my lips watching him look around. Could this man in front of me actually regret his actions. He seemed genuine and I really hope he does. Either ways, I no longer feel any form of attachment to him. I can now live my life without comparing it to what happened with him.
He announced snapping me out of my thoughts and I nodded my head.
“I guess I’ll see you around. Thank you for listening to me.”
I nodded my head and stepped out of his car.
Just then, I looked around until my gaze landed on a confused, annoyed, angry and definately hurt Damon.
“It’s not what it looks like.”
I muttered within me. It definately looks like I just stepped out of Van’s car.
