The Battle Of Love vs Social Clas-s
episode

Nothing can be hidden un-der the sun forever. No matter how much you try to conceal the truth, it must surely come to light someday. In as much as Dennis didn’t mean any harm by hiding his family’s wealthy status from his p@rtner ‘Olivia’, he still somehow hurt her by hiding something of such magnitude from her. To be fair, Dennis had a good reason for hiding the truth about his wealth from Olivia. He wanted to be sure she loved him for whom he truly was and not because of his money.
Truth be told, it wasn’t only Dennis that was hiding something, Olivia was also hiding something too. Up until then, she still hadn’t revealed to him the true struggles she had been facing since childhood. She was afraid that he would look down on her if she ever revealed such personal detail to him. Just when the two lovebirds thought they were about to face a slight crisis in their relationsh!pdue to the lies that were told in the past, more problems were incoming.
When Mrs Duncan entered Dennis’s office, she was a bit surprised to see a lady she hadn’t set her eyes on before. What made matters worst was that Olivia wore her work uniform and looked a bit worn-out from all the work she did while at the restaurant before going for the errand she was s£nt. At first sight, Dennis mum thought she was one of the domestics workers at her husband’s real estate firm. She had no idea that Olivia was the woman in her son’s life, responsible for his recent happiness and glow up. There was fire on the mountain but it’s apparent that no one was aware yet.
“Hi mummy, welcome. I didn’t know you were coming to the office today” Dennis said. Olivia was about to excuse herself and walk away but Mrs Duncan st©pped her. “Who are you my dear? I haven’t seen this face before” she said as she looked at Olivia from head to toe. Olivia suddenly bec@m£ scared but tried to maintain her cool. “My name is Olivia ma’am” she nervously said. “I presume you are a cleaner here so why are you in my son’s office if I may ask” Mrs Duncan sarcastically said.
de-ep down in Olivia’s heart, she wanted to cry at that moment but tried her possible best to take the insults without looking angry facially. On the other hand, Dennis was angry at his mum’s attitude towards his lover but couldn’t do anything other than watch; for fear of revea-ling the truth that she was his p@rtner. The atmosphere instantly bec@m£ tensed as drama gradually began to unfold.
After Olivia revealed her name to Mrs Duncan, her misery only just began. “Olivia, nice to meet you my dear. Now listen, as a cleaner, you have to come to work earlier to tidy everywhere before working hours. Next time, I don’t want to see you in my son’s office in this manner again. Have I made myself clear?” Mrs Duncan bluntly said and before she could utter another word, Dennis c@m£ to Olivia’s defence. “Mum do you know you are just doing the most? How can you come into my office and begin to haras-s my guest? Is this the uniform our cleaners wear? Why act this way mum” he angrily said.
While Dennis exchanged words with his mum, Olivia figured that her pres£nce wasn’t nee-ded so she walked out on them. Immediately she left the office, Dennis didn’t hesitate to follow her immediately. Everyone were in awe at the lady that allegedly stole their crush’s heart. Everything still felt like a bad dream for both Olivia and Dennis. A day that was intended to be a less complicated one, ended up with a lot of dramas.
“Babe st©p!! Why are you leaving when it’s clear we have alot to talk about?” Dennis said as he ran towards Olivia who paid deaf ears. Finally, he got closer to her and held her shoulder from behind. “Just leave me alone! Leave me and face your own life. How could you do this sort of thing to me? Why did you lie to me, only for me to find out who you are in such humiliating way? plea-se I nee-d space to think about the fate of this relationsh!p. As for your mum, tell her ‘Thank you’ for the humiliation. I might not un-derstand how social clas-s works when it comes to Love but all I know is that I have genuine love for you and that’s all that matters” she angrily said.
Due to the professional settings at work, Dennis didn’t want to pursue Olivia any further in fear that she might yell on t©p of her voice and attra-ct more workers eyeba-lls to them. When he saw that she wasn’t going to give him any listening ear due to the rage she was currently feeling, he backed out and just watch her leave the office building complex.
de-ep down, Dennis almost died due to the pain he was feeling at that moment. His mum’s humiliation made matters worse and made the situation even more complicated. When Oliva was finally out of sight, Dennis hurriedly went to his office to face his mum and confront her for the way she spoke to Olivia. When he entered his office, he angrily confronted his mum.
“Mummy, what you did today was highly despicable. How can you just come into my office and begin to harras my guest? This is so unfair and I believe you should know better. For your information, that lady is the one behind the sudden peace and happiness in my life. She isn’t necessarily rich and Yes! she is a waitress but a very ha-rd working smart lady. I am scared for the fate of my relationsh!pnow due to what you just did” Dennis angrily said. When he was done talking, Mrs Duncan shook her head in disbelief and said; “Listen young man, are you done whining? Over my dead b©dy will I support a relationsh!psuch as this poverty elevation scheme. Tara is the one for you and that’s period” she bluntly said.
Immediately Mrs Duncan was done talking, she got up and left. With everyone away, Dennis just sat there reminiscing on what had happened earlier. He was mad like never before in his whole life. He was restless and couldn’t concentrate on anything again while at the office. He called Olivia countless times but she didn’t pick up.
While Dennis ate himself up, Olivia was emotionally down. When she arrived back at the restaurant, she broke down in tears and cried bitterly in the staff changing room. She cried till her head began to hurt badly. Her colleagues could s-en-se that something was wrong and they shared in her sorrow, despite not knowing what was ma-king her cry. The devastated lady couldn’t wait to close for the day so she could go home and have a proper rest. What a sad day for both lovebirds indeed!
As Olivia’s closing time got close, she packed up and waited for the right time to make her move. Immediately the restuarant closed, she left very early and headed home. One the other hand, Dennis was on his way to the restuarant to see her but was stuck in traffic. By the time he arrived at the restaurant, everywhere was closed. Without wasting time, he headed towards her house because he knew she would definitely be home.
Olivia got home earlier, took her shower and was about lying down when she heard a knock on the door. At that moment, she was crying and didn’t have the strength to ask who it was. She felt it was her neighbor who wanted something from her so she walked to the door and opened it. The sight of the person standing right in front of her, s£nt chills all over her b©dy. She cried even more when she saw Dennis standing there with teary eyes.
Before Olivia could say anything, Dennis gave her a very ti-ght hvg, k!$$£d her softl-ips and soberly said; “I’m so sorry babe”.
The Battle Of Love vs Social Clas-s (episode 6)
When two people are destined to be together, nothing can st©p them. God knows our end from the beginning and has the blueprint of our lives in his hands; so in ess£nce, there’s nothing that happens by chance without being predestined. It was destined for Dennis to meet Olivia and find his missing rib in her. Despite the social clas-s differences, these two hearts were meant to beat for each other and there was nothing that could separate them or quench their burning de-sire to be together. The battle ahead seemed extremely tough but one thing was sure; it was the fact that their love was de-eply rooted into one another and didn’t seem like something that could easily be pu-ll-ed off. With Mrs Duncan knowing about Dennis and Olivia’s little relationsh!psecret, it’s safe to say that the battle line had been drawn and it wasn’t going to be an easy fight at all.
The soft k!ssDennis planted on Olivia’sl-ips wasn’t expected but she didn’t hold back from k!ss!nghim back. They k!$$£d pas-sionately with tears in their eyes. It was such an emotional moment for the two lovebirds but it was relieving for them to finally see each other after a scary day. Dennis ti-ghtly wra-pped his hands around Olivia’s w@!st and didn’t want to spend even one second away from her warm embr@ce. It was such an inti-mate moment indeed for the two lovebirds.
When they finally p@rted theirl-ips, Dennis looked into Olivia’s teary eyes and dropped a few tears too. “Baby I’m so sorry for what happened today. I know it was alot for you to handle and process at once and it kills me to know that I haven’t been honest to you about some things. Can we go inside your house and talk?” He said and she nodded ‘Yes’. They immediately left the door and entered inside.
When they settled in, Oliva broke down and began to cry uncontrollably. She weeped bitterly as she remembered what happened earlier that day. Dennis instantly rushed to where she sat and held her ti-ghtly. “Baby I am so sorry. I should have told you the truth about my family’s wealthy status but was just afraid that you might be like the other ladies from my past who were after my money and my family’s fortune. When I was convinced that you were different, I wanted to come clean to you but never had the perfect time to actually do so. Do you know how many times I wanted to snap my f!ngersand change your life for good? Do you know how it killed me that you lived in a place such as this and I couldn’t upgrade your housing situation simply because I didn’t want to b!ow my cover as a struggling marketer trying to make ends meet? Babe, I know how many times I wanted you to quit your job so I could set you up with the business you told me you had interest in, but I couldn’t do so because I was living a lie? To be honest, I’m happy you now know the truth and no longer in the dark about my financial status, so I can do the things I have always wanted to do for you because you deserve it more than anything in the world. I love you and I promise to hold your hands forever; so far as you promise not to let go of mine” he calmly said.
When Dennis was done talking, Olivia looked into his eyes and could see nothing but genuineness of heart. She knew he meant every word he said but the sad reality was that his family wasn’t going to back down without a fierce fight. Olivia loved Dennis but didn’t think her love would be enough. She k!$$£d his forehead and gave him a light pe-ck on his cheek. She smiled faintly and said; “Babe, you are not the only one who has some skeletons in their cardboard. The truth is that I come from a very poor family and have struggled all my life. My parent are p@rt of the low clas-s citizens and so am I. My parents gave birth to three children and I was the last. My eldest brother died when I was still in the university. He was the as-sistant bre-adwinner of the family because he worked and as-sisted my parents with the bills. Since after his death, things has been tougher for my family and that’s why we work extremely ha-rd just to survive. I didn’t want to tell you about my background for fear that you might feel pity for me or possibly run from me. What your mum did today, brou-ght me back to reality by reminding me of how our worlds are completely different from each other. Dennis you heard your mum, you heard what she said to me. Believe me when I say those words are realer than anything either of us have seen today. Your mum wasn’t pla-ying around; she meant every words she said today and I’m now scared. I love you too babe but at this point, I doubt if love is enough” she soberly said.
Immediately Olivia was done talking, she began to cry all over again. Dennis comforted her by ensuring her that everything was going to be alright. Without minding the time, it got very dark outside.
It was pas-sed 9pm at that time so Dennis felt it was best he took his leave. Oliva wanted him to stay the night so she tried to st©p him from going home. “Stay with me tonight, I want you by my side and would really appreciate your pres£nce here with me” she said in a low tone. That was the first time she was asking him for anything ever. He didn’t want to turn her down so he accepted to stay the night over.
While Dennis was hooked together with the love of his life at her house, his parents were at home waiting for his return. His mum told his dad everything that happened at the office and they couldn’t wait for him to return home, so they could confront him. They were furious and disappointed at their son’s choice of a p@rtner. Mr Duncan and his wife waited all night for Dennis to return home, but he didn’t. They called his number to know about his whereabouts but no one picked up.
A night that initially started with tension and doubts gradually bec@m£ an inti-mate one for Dennis and Olivia. They ate and showered before retiring to be-d. Dennis tried his very best to hold his emotions and not t©uçh Olivia but it was almost impossible for him because he was madly in love with her. One thing lead to the other and they began to k!sspas-sionately.
As the k!ss!ngbec@m£ more and more intense, Dennis’s urge to make love to Olivia grew stronger. Her whole b©dy were covered with goosebu-mps and he wanted her to de-sire it before ma-king further advances towards her. Unknown to Dennis, Olivia has never been t©uçhed by any man before. She was too shy to reveal this detail to him.
After about 30 minutes of pas-sionately k!ssing, Dennis broke the silence. “Are you sure you want us to do this?” He asked but Oliva kept quiet. She was mute for a while before she finally spoke. “I have something to tell you babe, should I go ahead?” She asked, “Sure babe, go ahead” he replied. Olivia took a de-ep breath and dropped a shocker; “Babe, I am still a vir-gin”.
To be honest, Dennis never thought Olivia was still a vir-gin. He knew she was very reserved but never imagined her keeping herself for such a long time. He k!$$£d her forehead and lifted her chin with one f!nger; “I am so proud of you and couldn’t be more happier. Wow! How much more awesome can you be more than this? I seriously love you from the bu-ttom of my heart and respect you more. I think it’s best we abstain from ma-king love in this relationsh!ptill we get married. What we nee-d to do now is focus on the main battles ahead; which is my family” he said. They k!$$£d a little more before finally cudd-ling each other and falling asleep.
The next day, they both prayed before heading out to their various destinations. When Olivia c@m£ outside her house with Dennis, the first thing she saw in the compound was the white Range Rover packed inside the compound. When she set her eyes on the car, the reality of Dennis wealth began to gradually dawn on her.
For some strange reasons, Olivia wasn’t excited about the new discovery because everything still felt like old times to her. Dennis dropped her off at work that morning before heading home. As he drove to his house, he was alre-ady prepared for anything that was going to go down. He knew his mum must have told his dad all that happened at the office the day before. There was fire on the mountain and he could s-en-se it. After an exhuasive ride back to the rich side of town where his family resided, he finally arrived home.
Immediately Dennis arrived home and walked inside the house, he saw his dad in the living room re-ading news papers. “Goodmorning dad” he greeted, “Goodmorning son, we waited for you all night but you didn’t come home. I know you are an adult but I still feel the nee-d to know where you sle-pt last night” his dad asked.
Dennis respected his parents alot and never lied to them. He sat down on the couch with his dad and began to ru-b his hands against each other. “Dad, can I talk to you?” He inquired, “Yes son, talk to me. What’s the problem” his dad pretended as though his wife hadn’t told him about Olivia. Dennis took a de-ep breath and began talking. After over 20 minutes of talking about Olivia, Mr Duncan said nothing and just kept mute.
When Dennis was done talking and was now expecting some kind of support from his dad. Mr Duncan looked at his son, sighed and dropped a shocker; “My grand kids will never come from a swine. Wake up from your slumber my son because you can never marry her!”.
