The alpha and the female warrior Episode 19

The_Alpha_And_The_Female_Warrior
Chapter 19
Theme : Irene vs Elisia

I followed the guy out the building, where I was greeted
by a few other people I didn’t know.
I could alre-ady hear the loud and excited cheers; my
heart began to race from excitement. I marched towards
the large fighting cage, briefly taking in the hvge crowd of
people pres£nt. It looked like there were hundreds of
people here, excited to watch what people have alre-ady
named ‘the fight of the year’.
The whole drama and built up tension between Irene and
I on the internet and in real life will finally be addressed,
throu-gh this match. Until now, people had only been
betting and arguing who would win and now, it was
finally happening.
I took a de-ep breath in and made my way towards the
door I was told to stand at. I st©pped and stood in front
of a door that had ‘Entrance 2’ written above it. It was
the door into the fighting cage; once you’re locked in,
you can’t get out until there’s a winner.
I’m as-suming Irene is at the opposite end of the fight
cage, probably at entrance number one. The corner of
my mouth lifted a little, once again realising that I can
finally make her pay for throwing herself at my mate. I
can make her pay in blood…
…with no consequences.
I started jumping on the sp©t, rolling my n£¢k and other
joints to get me pumped up and limber.
That’s when I finally heard the ring announcer start to
speak.
“Okay! It’s time!”
The crowd roared and cheered even louder, to the point
where it was almost deafening.
“We are all lucky to witness the fight that that has gotten
the werewolf community shaken!” The ring announcer
continued, sounding entertaining. “It’s the fight between
Irene Wolf from The BlackShadowed Pack and Elisia
Knight from The Imperial Pride Pack!”
The ruckus from the crowd increa-sed as he said that. I
couldn’t recognise his voice, but everyone seemed to like
him.
“Now, it’s time to introduce our fighters! First up, Irene
Wolf, also known as The White Devil! She’s our very own
Chief Warrior and, incredibly, remains undefeated! Here
she comes!”
A loud clanging sound echoed and the cage vibr@ted a
little, indicating that her door had been opened.
The crowd went crazy, showing support for their fellow
pack member.
“Now everyone…behind that door over there, stands a
very influential female wolf who’s known to break
stereotypes and kick as-s. Elisia Knight, also known as the
first ever female warrior in the country. She also remains
undefeated. Here she comes!”
I sm-irked, feeling satisfied about my introduction.
The large metal door was wretched open, revea-ling me to
the crowd. They cheered loudly as I stepped into the
fighting cage. I stood tall and proud, waving to some
people in the crowd who cried out my name.
Since the cage had a spherical shape, I did a 360 degree
turn trying to sp©t my friends. Instead, I found myself
looking at the ring announcer because I was curious as to
who he was.
Like I thought, I didn’t know him.
He stood on a seperate podium to everyone else and
wore a prestine white suit. His light brown hair was styled
to perfection and he had a showbusiness aura to him. He
caught my gaze and win-ked at me, s£nding me a teasing
smile.
I smile back unsurely, wondering if that’s really his
personality or a facade to be an entertaining ring
announcer.
That’s when I realised there was another podium of the
same height right by him, which I realised was where
everyone was sitting.Theo and Jay sat next to each other,
I could only imagine how that went down, since they are
the leaders of the fighters. Our pack members sat by Jay
and Julian, Leona as well as Kobi sat by their Alpha.
They all s£nt me a thumbs up or an encouraging smile
when they realised I’d sp©tted them. Except Theo.
He curtly nodded at me instead, which was far more than
what I expected from him, so you could say I was
plea-sed.
“Now I have to remind you everyone, that both of them
are undefeated warriors. Which means that one of them
will no longer hold that title when this match ends.” The
announcer said theatrically, holding a f!nger up.
That will be you, Irene.
For the first time since yesterday, I set my eyes upon her.
There she was, right opposite me, about thirty metres
away. She wore the exact same outfit, except she wore a
large silver brooch that glinted in the sunlight. Did she
wear that for style or did it mean something to her?
I used have a n£¢klace that I thought gave me a lot of
luck when fighting, but I st©pped wearing it once I
realised how pointless it was to have that kind of belief in
an object. It was more important to believe in yourself
and your ability to do the best. No object in the world
could bring you more luck than yourself.
Just believe in yourself, and you’ll do good. If not now,
then maybe tomorrow. If not then, then that means that
special day/achievement has yet to come. You just nee-d
to be patient and work ha-rd .
I’ve had that kind of mentality for a while now, and
people wonder why I have such a positive outlook on
many things.
However, I could confidently say that I definately don’t
have a positive outlook on Irene.
I held back the urge to snarl or give her a dirty look,
because of the disgusted expression that’s on her
face…and it’s directed at me.
Her long dark red hair was neatly tied up into a ponytail.
Her expression darkened as the seconds of her looking at
me pas-sed.
I rolled my eyes at her, looked away. I couldn’t deal with
her attitude, I would rather get the fight over and done
with.
“Walk up to the middle and face each other.” The ring
announcer ordered, gesturing to the middle of the cage.
I strode to the middle, where an ‘X’ had drawn on the
floor. Irene and I reached the middle at the same time,
holding each others’ hostile gazes. The crowd probably
thought we’re cold atmosphere was simply because we
are opponents, but no. This hostility between us was
much more than that.
“Shake hands and let’s get it started!”
I stuck my hand out first, knowing she had to take it and
accept it. I s£nt her smug sm-irk as she reluctantly took it
and shook my hand briefly.
Knowing the rules alre-ady, we started to take the
required steps back. Fighters usually take around five to
seven steps back.
1
2
3 steps.
I always only take the minimum required amount to start
the fight, this always got people on the edge of their seat
because it’s a risky and bold move. I like giving the crowd
a performance as well as a match.
To my surprise and dismay, Irene had also done the
same. I looked at her in bewilderment to which she gave
me an evil sm-irk.
Whatever.
“I can alre-ady see this’ll be an interesting fight. Just a
reminder that there are three referees monitoring the
fight so no killing. The fight will begin after the third
beep.”
Beep
Beep – I tensed up and focused on Irene’s figure
Beep
I moved back a little to see she moves, she didn’t. I
decided to stay on defence until I figured out her
stratagy.
We circled each other, both of us looking ha-rd for any
indication of weaknesses. Unfortunately for her, looking
for any kind of information from me is like finding a
nee-dle in a haystack.
Incredibly unlikely. Almost impossible.
Unfortunately for me, she also seemed to have mastered
the poker face. No matter how ha-rd I looked, there
wasn’t even the slightest indication of her next move.
She suddenly slid across the floor, snapping her right leg
out to trip me. Since I didn’t see it coming, I stumbled a
little.
I knew she would take advantage of my little tumble and
take a hit since I couldn’t see.
My best bet was that her left fist was on it’s way to hit me
at any moment, since she stuck her right leg out, it would
made s-en-se since she only had time to use her left fist
since less time was nee-ded to accelerate and give a
powerful hit.
It was still a 50/50 chance, but I made sure to dodge her
punching attempt. I straightened myself and went back
into position after receiving no hit. I was glad my guess
happened to be right or it would’ve been an unforunate
start to the fight.
I wasted no time in throwing a punch, starting off with a
left hook, which happens to be my weaker side. I used it
to create a distraction so I could throw a proper right
hook and get a good hit.
For whatever reason, it was like she was expecting me to
do this and completely dodged my right hook attempt.
She ba-rely dealt with my left hook punch, as if she knew I
hadn’t intended to use it to get a hit.
Or maybe she really did know…
I watched her as she steadied herself, and got back into
position as she sli-pped into defence mode.
I internally gro-an ed at my luck, remembering what Kobi
had told me. She’d apparently come to all my matches,
meaning she must be familiar with how I fight.
I couldn’t shake off how unfair I thought this was, she
knew all my weaknesses and strengths as well as what
stratagies I’ve used to win. I knew very little about her
fighting style yet she knew so much about mine.
I caught her gaze and glared at her, no wonder she
seemed so confident.
Her smug sm-irk set something off in me, call it rage,
feeling wronged or vexation, I decided to change my
style of fighting.
Very risky, but I hope it’s worth it.
She swung her right fist at me, I dodged it by ducking and
managed to get two fast jabs in her stomach area and
backed up before she could do anything.
She griminced from the pain, but maintained her
balance. She stormed toward me throwing calculated
punches my way. I dodged and blocked as much as
could, however she landed a few punches because of her
speed.
She’s very fast, I thought while wiping the blood from my
bustedl-ip.
Before she could get another punch in, I did an uppercut,
getting her right in the jaw before tripping her up. When
her head slammed against the ha-rd floor, I got on t©p of
her and started throwing punches from all angles. She
was able to block most of them except the ones on her
sides.
I could finish this off, I suddenly thought. She’s right
un-der me and I’m blocking her legs so she cannot kick
me off her. I had my legs firmly wra-pped around her to
ensure she couldn’t fl!pus. All I had to do is to just keep
punching until she’s too weak to get up or yields, who
would’ve thought it would be this easy? She, obviously,
didn’t since she did something I didn’t expect.
She headbu-tted me.
It completely took me off guard and made me st©p
throwing punches for a second. She used that
opportunity the throw an uppercut my way and throw
me off her.
I rolled onto the ha-rd ground, wincing from the pain in
my jaw. I got up before she could do any more damage.
I couldn’t be bothered to dust off the dirt as we started
to circle each other once more.
My jaw and forehead throbbing were painful reminders
that she was able get a few good hits on me.
She raised her leg to kick my way and since I didnt have
time to dodge it, I got re-ady to block it. Unfortunately,
she managed to close the distance and throw a ha-rd
punch in my ribs.
I doubled over clutching my che-st from the pain, not
forgetting to back up before she could do anything else.
She was alre-ady going for another punch, but I dodged it
before it could t©uçh me and roundhouse kicked her,
ma-king her stagger back.
I heard the crowd go “Ooh.”
She seemed to have recovered fast as she was blocking
most of the series of punches I threw at her after. She
kept throwing hits and jabs at my ribs that were alre-ady
throbbing in pain.
I quic-kly crouched to the ground and sweeped my right
leg to trip her up, bringing her down to the ground.
She landed onto the ground on all fours giving me the
opportunity to knee her in the face. I pu-ll her up to her
knees and bring my knee up to her face and hit her
squarely in the face.
She fell forward bringing her hands to ground in front
her as blood dr!pp£dfrom her nose.
A loud angry snarl erupted from her as she got herself up
and brushes the dirt of herself. She glared at me with so
much hate and anger, clenched her fists. She raised her
hand and t©uçhed the silver brooch that was attached to
her outfit.
She s£nt me a sickly smile and mouthed something. I
tuned into my s-en-sitive hearing to hear her.
“You listening?” She asked, breathing heavy.
I curtly nodded once, not sure if I wanted to hear what
she has to say.
“This brooch I’m wearing is from none other than my
precious Alpha.”
I scoffed at her attempt to anger me.
“So what?” I replied at the same low volume.
She scoffed back, disbelief painting her features.
“You know you care.” She spat.
She was right. I did.
I couldn’t help the raw emotion of saddness and jealousy
grip my heart.
It was just a brooch, I told myself, nothing more and
nothing less.
I swallowed those feelings and st©pped paying attention
to her words. She’s just trying to tamper with my
emotions so that I don’t do well in this fight.
And yet, I couldn’t help but glance towards where Theo
was sitting.
His expression was unre-adable, so I wasn’t sure if he, or
anyone, was listening in on our short coversation.
I turned to Irene quic-k enough to see her attempt to
roundhouse kick me, I dodged enough to not get hit too
much. But there was a lot of impact on my shoulder,
ma-king me stumble.
My eyes zeroed in on her che-st, it was unguarded. Her
arms were out to balance herself from performing the
roundhouse kick.
I took that opportunity and kicked her in che-st, hearing
the breath harshly excaping her che-st.”Wow, a direct
hit!” I faintly heard the ring announcer exclaim.
I immediately got on t©p of her and started to
continually throw ha-rd punches her way. I had been
rushing in trying to keep her down by straddling her that
I hadn’t done it properly.
She was able to fl!pus over so that I was un-der her.
“$h!t.” I blurted as her fists c@m£ down fast.
Dre-ad and fear filled me as I realised something.
My arms were tra-pped un-der her th!ghs.
I can’t block her punches.
No.
“fv¢k!” I cried in realisation, trying to free my arms.
The bit-ch aimed for my face.
I took countless of painful hits to my face, my vision
bec@m£ even more blurry with every hit.
“Oh, man. Ouch.” The ring announcer commented.
“Now that I’ve messed up your face, time for your ribs to
feel the same.”
She punched my tender ribs that had alre-ady taken a lot
of beating. I gro-an ed and twisted in agony un-derneath
her, internally cursing her.
The pain was unbearable, I was sure all my ribs had been
broken. I could even feel one rib bone scratching the
surface of my left lung. If she punches my rib cage
anymore, it would puncture my lung.
I alre-ady had a ha-rd time breathing.
I turned my head from side to side, ti-ghtly squee-zing my
eyes shut to deal with the pain. My head l@yon the cold
ground, facing my left side, I peeled my eyes open and
found myself looking in the direction of my friends.
They were all standing up, wearing horrified expressions.
I internally chuckled, knowing they hadn’t expected for
the fight to go this way.
Hell, even I didn’t.
I squinted to where I had seen Theo earlier, but there was
no sign of him. My eyes l@yon Jay instead, but he wasn’t
looking my way. I followed the direction of his gaze and
finally saw Theo on the other side of the podium, where
the referees were.
He looked like was arguing with them, ma-king angry and
elaborated hand gestures.
I could only see the back of him, but I noticed how
flu-shed the back of his n£¢k was.
Irene had finally got off me and raised her hand towards
the referee, a sign to allow them to countdown from five
seconds.
If I don’t get up in next five seconds, I will lose this fight.
Beep
5
I made a move to get up, but winced from the sharp
shooting pains from my face, throat and che-st. She really
took advantage of my momentary period of
vulnerability.
4
I put my hands onto the cold concrete floor and pushed
myself up, just in enough to roll myself over and push
myself to me knees.
3
I was kneeling, wheezing from the excruciating pain
rippling throu-ghout my b©dy. It hurt to smile, but I did
so anyway to annoy Irene. And with every energy and
determination I could muster…
2
I stood up.
There was a brief moment of hushed silence, everyone
was in awe from my displ@yof remarkable
determination.
“That was incredible. Isn’t that right ladies and
gentlemen?” The ring announcer exclaimed in awe.
The crowd agreed, roaring and cheering me on.
I stood there, legs shoulder width ap@rt and breathing
heavily. My face was throbbing and was covered in
bruises. Blood trickled from my bustedl-ips, drenching
the t©p I wore.
It hurt to breathe, It was amazing that I could even take
in oxygen with my che-st in this condition.
And yet, here I was. Standing right before the person who
did this to me, smiling at them like they hadn’t defeated
me.
Because they didn’t.
Not now and not ever.
Disbelief and anger trickled into her shocked and angry
expression.
“You should’ve stayed down.” She sneered, looking
uneasy. She wiped off the blood oozing from a cut I gave
her above the cheekbone.
With a dangerous expression, I took a step forward.
She backed up.
“What are you doing? You’re literally broken! I’ve broken
you, you can’t fight in that conditon!”
I brou-ght my hands up and cracked them slowly.
“Broken? Never. Not fighting? I don’t think so. Winning? I
always win.” I snarled, crouching low.
I will win, I thought.
With a growl ripping out of me, I lunged towards her…

Omg the actual match is finally happening!!
