‘ That wicked son of a devil, I knew it, he is a pla-yboy, I just knew it ‘ I thought as I made my way home
I’ve decided even if I see him I am not going to tell him about our baby
‘ Our baby ‘ even the sound of that makes my heart beat three times fas-ter
Even if my heart beats ten times fas-ter I don’t care, all I know is I’m going to bring up my baby by myself, I don’t nee-d his help, and I don’t like the way I feel whenever I think about the fact my baby might grow up knowing a father that is no stranger to other women’s be-d.
Why did I even allow Cas-sy talk me into telling him that I am pregnant?
It doesn’t matter, I’ve made my mind to bring up our child…. I mean my child by myself.

💜 Edward’s POV 💜
I’m miserable now, I’ve lost everything I have, I lost my best friend, yes my best friend, I have been lvsting after his wife and that feels really bad now.
Thinking about everything now I found out that Calvin is practically all I have, I tried to disguise thinking I was only doing all because of what my dad wants, but now, I realize he is the only one that truly accepted me for who I am.
I can’t deny but I’ve been secretly going to the church around the h0tel where it seems like the only place where I have peace, I mean I want to hear what the man have to say and most of the time it is the only thing that st©pped me from killing myself or even going crazy from my thoughts
I think I’ve fallen in love too, My bartender girl, I’ve been looking for her but I haven’t been able to get any useful information, I would have gotten one of my father’s best pri-vate investigator to help me search for her but then me and that old man are not on good terms.
How can someone be that callous, he has everything he wants but then he is still greedy, he still wants every deal and strategy of my best friend’s company, if possible I know he would have my best friend’s company, he is so heartless that he doesn’t even care about his own children all he does is compare all the two of us, always reminding me my own brother is better than me. All he care for is what he can get from us.
He’s been using us ever since we were small, he made me befriend Calvin when we were in third grade, just because he wants to get throu-gh to Calvin’s dad, he’d always call me everyday and tell me not to get too close to him because he was just a ticket for him, when we grew up, Calvin’s company bec@m£ so successful that my Dad wanted something like that too, he was not just contented that his sons are also ma-king it big in the business world.
Oh Calvin, how I have offended my best friend, one of the best things that ever happened to me, I hope he’d forgive me for what I did to him and his wife.
I was still lost in thought when my phone rang, it was an unknown number and I know my dad, he would never call with an unknown number, no matter how urgent the matter is
” Hello? ”
” Hello, I have a deal that might interest you, on Kira Lights, I know you want her and so do I, if you’d love to meet up, and may I interest you in the fact that, I’m 92% sure Kira is still unt©uçhed? ” Wait, someone else is after Calvin’s wife, I mean she might be in trouble.
” What? ” I asked concerned, he hesitated for a while then spoke again
” Would you like to meet up?, So we can talk better ” he asked and I agreed, he gave me a Cafe’s address and we agreed to meet.
I have to help my best friend’s wife, and after that I find my lovely bartender.
God help me because I don’t even know this lady’s name.

💜 Edward’s POV 💜
I met with the guy that was planning against Calvin’s wife and I was very surprised at the kind of idea he had, I was terribly surprised but then I quic-kly thought about something else, it might not work, but then I still have to try.
I allowed him finish tendering his plan, infact I ch!pped in some ideas before I gave him my own side.
” As beautiful as this plan is, it won’t work ” I said hoping I kept my voice professional
” What? ”
” Calvin would never let that lady out of the house for a long time now ” I replied
” Why didn’t you say that in the beginning? ” He asked and I got a little bit mad, how dare him raise his voice at me
” You won’t raise your voice at me ” i said and he sat back in his chair, he nee-d to know who’s boss here
” Okay, I’m sorry, but what are we going to do? ” He asked and I smiled
” Well, we are going in to get her ”
” What? ” he asked surprised again
” Are you scared? ” because he looks like he is scared
” Let’s hear about the plan ”
” Okay, so there is an hidden route behind the house that I’m 76% sure the guards doesn’t know about, we’d be going in throu-gh there, but before that one of us have to distract Calvin, then the other goes inside, alert the other when he’s done, and then it’s a win win ” I said leaning back in my chair
Man!, This guy looks like a dog that who found a golden bone
” Ok, but how are we going to get Calvin to leave the house? ” He asked obviously excited
” Leave that to me ” I said and he nodded
We eventually finished our coffee and when we were about to go when we voices of ladies giggling, sounds familiar but then there is no way she’s here.
The last time we saw ourself was in high school, my dear Tonia, but then there is definitely no way we’d meet ourself now.
She was one of the reasons why I didn’t go totally crazy but then one day she suddenly disappeared and all I have left was Calvin.
I couldn’t bear thinking about her, so I left the cafe.

No one can take Cas-sy’s place in my heart
I decided to go to the cafe where Cas-sy works to tell her what I found out and when I did she bec@m£ so angry that she bluffed, she kept saying she’d find Edward and ruin his fine face.
Her shift was almost over when I fiance, c@m£ around, he made us laugh to the extent that I think my baby would be laughing by now
My baby!
I didn’t let Cas-sy talk me out of bringing my baby up myself without a father even though she tried, there’s no way I’m looking for a pl@yboy that doesn’t even remember me from high school, I won’t let him break my child’s heart the way he broke mine.
The first step to that is forgetting him, but how do I forget the man who I very much still love?, and now I am carrying the evidence of the love I have for him.

For three weeks, myself and Lucas planned on how we’d go get Calvin’s wife, what’s her name again?…. Kira…. Yes Kira
When our plan was eventually finalized, we put it into effect, myself and Lucas went to Calvin’s house, but before then I had s£nt a text to Calvin on what is about to come, so that he can prepare to arrest Lucas.
When we got there I had to act like I still want to have Kira, urging him to be fast about it so that I can have my turn
I called Lucas again, disguising , the gate opened and closed, this seems to plea-se Lucas happy, I was expecting him to just go inside and get but I didn’t expect the knife and that was driven into my stomach
” You son of a….. ” Before I could complete the s£ntence, he placed an handkerchief over my nose and mouth, I tried to fight him but then I bec@m£ weak and darkness approached until it fully enveloped me.

💗 Tonia’s POV 💗
I was feeling really tired and h0t so I went to sit on the chair in the balcony while my mother managed the sto-re.
There was a lot on my mind and I felt weird, like something bad was about to happen.
I closed my eyes and hummed oceans by hillsongs, I stylishly prayed too but then I drifted off.
I was jo-lted back to conciousness because of the evening breeze, I opened my eyes to see someone wearing green in the flower garden again.
I quic-kly stood up and ru-bbe-d my eyes to clear it of sleep, I looked again and I realized the person was dragging something, the last time I saw someone on all green, it was bad.
I marked where he was standing with eyes and gr@bb£d my phone, I didn’t even st©p at the sto-re to tell my mum all I did was phone Cas-sy and I told her where I was going so that she can come and meet me at there.
I walked into the estate and thre-aded in the bush carefully, thank God I didn’t listen to my mum when she told me to st©p going inside the flower garden , I am able to identify the place he pas-sed because the sunflowers were planted there, I looked at the trace of blood which led dee-per into the garden and a wave of dizziness almost s£nt me falling, but then I steadied myself and hid myself in the flowers when I heard footsteps.
Sure enough, the all green guy c@m£ out, and ran out of the bush.
What did he drop there?
Why is he here again?
What’s going on?
I have a lot of questions, so the moment I realised he was out and a good distance away, I c@m£ out and walked towards where he was coming from, letting the blood guide me.
The blood got thicker and much more visible as I moved forward, until I got to where he left the thing, but alas! It is not a thing, it is a man.
I moved closer and poked the man’s back but he didn’t move neither did he show a sign of breathing.
A cool and h0t wave of fear washed throu-gh me, could he be dead?
I turned carefully to see if I can recognize the person, I don’t even want it to be people I know.
I thought I was hallucinating at first, so I shook my head to make sure I was not.
My head started ban-ging and tears pooled in my eyes…
That’s the father of my baby!.

💗 Tonia’s POV 💗
Tears started falling at a very fast rate, I scooted closer to him and lifted his head so that it can rest on my leg
” Edward look at me plea-se ” I cried but he didn’t move, I placed my hand on the sp©t on his stomach to st©p the bleeding but it won’t st©p so I placed my handkerchief on it, that seemed to work a bit.
” Edward plea-se ” I cried but still no movement
My phone rang and I checked to see it was Cas-sy
” Hello, Tonia where are you ? ” She asked and I cried ha-rder, how on earth am I supposed to tell her Edward is in danger?
” Tonia? ”
” Cas-sy, just come into the flower garden, the p@rt where the sunflower grow, plea-se, come as fast as you can ” I said trying to keep my voice un-der control
” Tonia, are you okay?, You are not sounding good ”
” I am not Cas-sy, I am not , just bring a car. ” I was not planning on crying again, but the tears c@m£ right out
” Stay where you are, I am coming with Bryan ” she said before hanging up
I smoothened Edward’s hair then pressed a k!ssto his hair
” Eddy, plea-se hang on for me and our baby, plea-se ” I begged hvgging his head
Few minutes later I heard Cas-sy and Bryan her fiancee calling my name
” Over here ” I said and they rushed over
” What’s going on Tonia? ” Bryan asked while Cas-sy just stared at me surprised
” Did you get into a fight with someone? ” He asked again but I shook my head
” It’s Edward ” I said crying and that seem to snap Cas-sy out of whatever she was in
” Edward?… How on Earth did you guys meet again?…. Did you guys got into a fight? ” She asked coming closer, Bryan also c@m£ closer , then they helped me put Edward in a sitting position
” I can’t explain right now, plea-se help me get him to the hospital, he’s bleeding badly ” I said and they nodded
” We should be able to get him out the security guard at the gate seems to be busy, he didn’t even notice us come in. ”
” Is the car here? ” I asked standing up
” Yeah, just out side the gate ”
Bryan placed one of Edward’s hand around his shoulder, and I was about to place the other around mine when Cas-sy st©pped me
” I’d do that, you are not in the position to stress right now ” she said and with that she placed Edward’s second hand around her shoulder
Thank God for great friends.
We managed to get him to the car which I eventually found out was owned by Bryan’s friend, and we drove to the hospital.
The hospital was another issue, they refused to admit him asking us to get a doctor’s report, I had to cry and threatened to kill myself before they admitted him and that was not without me signing an agreement.
The doctors and nurses rushed him to into a room to run some tests then took him the operation room after I signed another agreement and we paid a certain amount of money to the hospital as deposit.
Seconds rolled by into minutes, minutes rolled into hours, but we were left standing, I thought I was going faint before they bring us news about Edward but thankfully I didn’t.
Almost later one of the doctors c@m£ back to tell us he lost a lot of blood alre-ady and he’d be nee-ding at least three pints of blood, I had to sign another agreement then pay for blood.
My legs couldn’t st©p pacing, for the remaining one hour of the surgery, when the one of the doctors c@m£ close to us, we rushed forward to meet him half way.
” Hello, I’m Dr Benson, plea-se who is the patients relative? ” He asked she everyone confused pointed at me
” Are you his sister? ” He asked again and I shook my head
” So you are his wife ” he said and I almost shook my head but then I realized it doesn’t matter
” How is he doing? ” I asked and he nodded
” Well, he was stabbe-d and unfortunately that area got infected, good news is he is better now, but he nee-ds to be taken care of, 24/7 monitoring, so ma’am you’d have to stay with your husband, for a while. ”
” Is there any other thing we nee-d to know? ” Cas-sy asked and he shook his head.
” We’d have to wait until he wakes up ”
” Can I see him? ” I asked praying they’d allow me
” Of course, but you’d have to wait until they transfer him to a ward, now if you’d excuse me I have to go ” he said and we nodded
” You guys can go, I’d stay here with Edward ” I said and Cas-sy held my hand
” Tonia are you okay? ”
” Yeah sure, just go home and help me tell my mum that I won’t be coming home tonight ”
” I am sorry ” Bryan said and I nodded
They bid me farewell and few minutes later a nurse c@m£ to take me to Edward’s ward.
I took my seat beside him then started c@r£ss!nghis head
He looked really weird, not even pale but red, I thought it was because he just had his surgery until he bec@m£ redder, I hit the emergency bu-tton and screamed without thinking
Nurses and doctors and doctors rushed in, while I cried uncontrollably
Instructions flew around in the room, so did blames
I heard one of the doctors blaming a nurse for not running a test for allergy on Edward, while another keep repeating how bad and dangerous it is for Edward, the moment he mentioned that Edward could die, a wave of dizziness hit me and crashed to the floor.

💗 Tonia’s POV 💗
I woke up with a slight headache, I didn’t want to open my eyes but the strong smell of the hospital f0rç£d me to.
” She’s awake ” I heard someone say and then I heard footsteps coming closer to me
” Tonia are you okay? ” My mum asked and I nodded since I couldn’t summon my voice
” Thank goodness you are awake the doctors had quite a shock when you fainted, there were scared something might have happened to the he baby ” Cas-sy said and I had summoned strength to talk
” Is my baby okay? ”
” Yes, but you have to be very careful, fainting like that won’t do you any good. ” My said and I nodded
” Edward? ” I asked
” He’s fine, he’s just allergic to something in the anesthesia that was used on me, it had been treated now and he’s fine, the doctor said he should wake up anytime from now
” I want to be with him ” I said trying to stand up but Cas-sy held me back
” You have some explanation to do young woman ” my mum said and I sighed
” What do you want to know mum? ”
” Who is that man in the ward? ”
” The father of my baby ”
” Then why is here, heaven save me, I hope you didn’t do anything to the young man ” my mum said and I shook my head and explained everything from the very beginning
” Wow, so you’ve encountered the person that stabbe-d Edward before? ”
” Yes and like I said I sma-cked him with a stick, twice on the head. ”
” Do you think we should call to check up on your namesake and her husband? ” Cas-sy asked and I couldn’t help but agree
” I have to admit that didn’t cross my mind but then we should do just that, Cas-sy if you don’t mind, the business card her husband gave me is at home so plea-se help me get the card and also bring me a change of cloth ”
” Sure I’d do just that ”
Cas-sy left and c@m£ an hour and half later with everything I asked for and homemade meal of rice and beef sauce
I thanked her took my bath and changed my cloth. On my mum’s insistence I ate a little then rushed to Edward’s ward.
He was alre-ady awake questioning the nurse
” I think I should run a test on your husband, he doesn’t seem to remember he has a wife ”
” Is that right husband? ” I asked smiling but he didn’t answer, all he did was allow his mouth hang open
” He’d be okay, are you done? ”
” Yes, I was just leaving ” she said leaving the room but not without casting one last glance myself and Edward’s way.
” Bartender girl? ” He asked and I frowned
” Just call me T……. Just call me Tee ” I said and he frowned
” I am sorry but you look so much like a friend I knew in school? ” He said running a hand throu-gh his hair, that might have caused him pain because he winced
” Are you okay? ” I asked and he nodded
” Are you okay? ” He asked using his hand to wipe the tears falling from my eyes
I thought I’d control myself but then like most of the times I disappointed myself, what followed his concern was my outbur-st.

I was expecting all when I see my bartender girl but not this kind of emotional outbur-st, she started with crying then she started yelling
” How on earth can you not recognize me Edward for God sake, we’ve spent a lot of time together and all you can do is remember me as the bartender girl?, Does your S-xual de-sires cloud your vision to that extent?, You didn’t see me in school and you couldn’t ask after me, you didn’t come looking for me, for God sake you couldn’t even recognize me, tell me, those time we spent together in school meant nothing then ”
I knew it, she sounded and acted like Tonia and that was why I got emotionally attached to her
Is that the reason why?
I couldn’t figure that out because, she started crying again
” You didn’t care about me at all ” she said crying, this was baffling because the next minute she was yelling angrily at me
” Tonia, plea-se I am really sorry ”
” No you are not sorry, Edward you didn’t remember me! ”
I was in pain but then I had to stand up, I went closer to her and pu-ll-ed her into my arms
” plea-se Tonia listen to me, I’m really sorry ”
She relaxed for a while before she totally st©pped crying. She quic-kly re-moved her head from my che-st like she just realized she was doing something wrong
” I am sorry that shouldn’t have happened ” she said trying to get away from me but I held her in place
” Tonia I miss you ” I said and her eyes wi-de-ned, the same time her mouth dropped open.

💗 Tonia’s POV 💗
I was really shocked when I realized the bandage used to cover Edward’s side had fresh blood on it.
” Edward you are bleeding ” I said and he looked at it
I was about to start crying again when he place his hand on my mouth
” Tonia plea-se don’t cry, just get the doctor ” he begged and I rushed out to do just that. Thankfully the doctor didn’t hesitate, he took what he nee-ded and followed me back.
The doctor cleaned and inspected then told us to be careful about how he moves or he’d be bleeding again in no time before he left.
” Tell me Tonia, what happened, what happened that you didn’t come to School again, and how come you started working at a bar in an h0tel, Tell me everything Tonia ” Edward said and I did just that, I told him what happened from the very beginning.
I told him how my dad died and the issues myself and my mum faced after that, I didn’t hesitate to tell him how much he hurt me that night, I just told him everything except for the fact that I am pregnant with his baby.
” Tonia, I am really sorry about everything, just so you know, I did search for you, both when you left school, and when I thought you were just a bartender girl, I didn’t recognize you when I met you in that h0tel’s bar because you’ve changed a lot, like you’ve seriously changed, you are no longer using those glas-ses, your face, you are no longer chubby like you were in school, but either way I am still attached to you Tonia, you don’t know but you helped me get over with an obse-ssion, and I sincerely miss you ” he said taking my hand and hvgging it to his che-st
I didn’t know how to react so I just allowed him, I didn’t know when my other hand went to his hair and started c@r£ss!ngit.
” Tonia! ” My mum called and I stood with so much f0rç£ that the chair I was sitting on almost fell
” Yes mum? ” I answered and Edward held my hand also trying to stand up but I held him back
” Hello ma’am ” he greeted and my mum nodded
” You are Edward ain’t you? ”
” I am, Mrs. White ”
” How are you feeling now? ”
” Better ” he replied and I frowned
” I don’t know about that mum because the wound was bleeding a while ago , I had to get the doctor to redress it ”
” Is that so? ” She asked and he nodded
” Well, that was because Tonia kept crying and… It was wild mood swing, so I had to stand up to calm her down ”
” Mood swing?, I was actually praying you won’t be like me when I was…. ”
” Mum!, plea-se no! ” I shouted before she could get the pregnant out, she was so shocked that she look at me raising an eyebrow, I replied to that by shaking my head, there is no way I’d allow Edward to know about my baby just yet
Edward was also staring at us suspiciously but then my mum threw him off track by engaging him in another conversation about much I’ve changed since school, the conversation went on till Edward started yawning, my mum took the cue and told him to excuse us, she pu-ll-ed me outside and made sure the door was locked before she talked to me
” You don’t want to tell him you are pregnant? ” She asked in what seems like aggressive whisper and I nodded
” Why?, Because with the look in his eyes, I can tell he’s definitely into you ”
” Mum, we can’t start as-suming, I’d tell him but not now ”
” Heaven help you child ”
” Amen mum, can you plea-se get me fresh fruit salad? ” I asked and she frowned
” You best tell him soon because I won’t continue doing all of this ” she said walking off, I couldn’t resist the urge to laugh.

I woke up to Tonia’s soft ca-ress, she was ma-king want to fall asleep and stay awake at the same time
” I am sorry I hurt you that night Tonia ” I said and she st©pped c@r£ss!ngmy hair, she almost re-moved her hand but I didn’t allow her
” Are you feeling okay? ” She asked and I nodded
” The doctor said you can’t eat anything yet, but I’d get you a bottle of water ” she said and with that she left the room.
I have to somehow get my Tonia back, we meeting again in this kind of situation is just a sign that God has a plan for us.
