Sandy’s Pov:
I yawned tiredly as I rolled from one side of the be-d to another.
I ru-bbe-d my eyes.
I got up from the be-d and stretched myself.
I looked at the other be-d close to mine and it was empty.
“Where are they?” I asked myself.
Even baby Kira was not in her cot as well.
I was surprised.
I walked out of the room lost in thought.
I walked downstairs…
“MERRY CHRISTMAS Sandy” Nicky screamed as I covered my mouth with my palms.
Excitement filled my mind.
And at last Christmas is here again 🔔
The house was alre-ady decorated with ribbons and Christmas tree.
We jumped from one place to another.
Dad ordered for pizza.
Oh my gosh!
The picnic is so fun!
“Dad! What is this?” Nicholas asked anxiously as dad brou-ght in a table covered with a blanket.
We glanced at each other in confusion.
“What’s this?” Nicky blurted
I used to know everything but this time around, am clueless.
Baby Kira kicked her legs as she crawled to the table and stood up holding the table.
“Baby do you know what this is?” Dad smiled as he t©uçhed baby Kira’s cheek.
“Nah….. Nah….” Baby Kira chuckled
We bur-st into laughter
“Did baby just say no? I can’t believe this! Baby said nah” I exclaimed as everyone laughed.
She just talked.
But that was just a child talk though.
“Oh plea-se daddy… I really want to know what’s there?” Nicky asked anxiously.
“So none of my babies can guess what’s here?” Dad said as we shook our heads in disagreement.
“Alright.. I’ll unveil it” Dad said as he gradually re-moved the veil.
Our mouths wi-de-ned in shock.
“Milk cake….” We screamed in unison.
We all jumped for joy.
You are surprised right? 😅
Well Milk cake is actually our favorite and mom’s favorite as well.
Dad promised us that for a long time.
“This is the best Christmas ever” We said happily.
We jumped on daddy ma-king him fall as we pe-cked him.
He’s the best dad in the whole wi-de world.
Marga’s Pov:
“Marga! Crazy girl!!” Goldy screamed aloud.
I quic-kly sprang up and wiped my tears immediately.
She’s going to beat me mercilessly if she sees me in tears… I mean my step mother.
I rushed in to answer the call.
Immediately I opened the door, I was welcomed with a bucket of iced water all over my b©dy.
I freezed….
Tears welled down my cheeks.
As I heard Goldy’s loud annoying laughter.
It was my step mother who bathed me with the cold water.
“Silly girl! You’re nothing but a flir-t” My step mother fired
Goldly rolled her eyes.
“You nee-d to see the way Marga was all over the man mother! She smiled at him foolishly drooling… Cheap thing!” Goldy ch!pped in
“Am not surprised Marga.. I knew you were nothing but a flir-tatious hoer” My step mother said.
Her words got to me so badly.
She just called me a “HOER”
I hope you know very well what that means.
She’s treating me bad because my dear dad went out of town.
“Mother I was not flir-ting with him, he apologized and….” I tried saying but my mouth was shut again with a dirty sl@p landed on my eyes.
“Get your filthy gob shut! Shameless who-re” My step mother yelled at me.
“Harlot! You k!$$£d him and he even held your a*s… You are nothing but a cheap girl just like your late mother” Goldy said as anger burnt throu-gh me.
How dare her talk about my mom like that?
she doesn’t even know her.
I couldn’t control myself anymore.
I can bear all the insults and lies she’s giving me.
But no! I can’t bear her talking about my mom like that.
I pushed my step mother down.

I quic-kly kicked her r0ûghly.
She landed her bu-tt on the ground and yelled in pain.
I was so re-ady for any outcome.
I didn’t st©p there, I kicked her face leaving injuries on her face.
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me out of the house.
I know that once they regain their balance then am in trouble.
I ran into the nearby bush and I kept running.
I can’t let Goldy and my step mother Celine catch me.
I ran for a long time before I got to the next wi-de road.
I sat on a big rock resting cos I was very tired.
Suddenly, I heard a baby’s cry.
Mr Alex’s Pov:
The kids were all so happy.
There were a lot to drink and eat.
It was getting late and darkness was gradually enveloping the earth.
It’s the Christmas day and the kids were enjoying themselves.
Just then, I saw baby Kira’s sandal outside the door.
That was when I noticed her abs£nce.
I looked around sharply but I didn’t see the baby.
“WHERE’S THE BABY?” I screamed out…

Marga’s Pov:
I thought my ears were deceiving me.
What could a baby be doing outside by this time of the night?
Could it be the deadly animal bush baby?
Fear gr!pp£dme but I continued hearing the baby’s voice.
The baby was crying.
Oh no!
I can’t go back to the house….
Goldy and her mother are going to skin me alive.
The baby’s voice was so innocent.
I rushed to the direction where I was hearing the voice.
It was a very beautiful little baby girl.
Immediately she saw me, she smiled broadly as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Her smile was so cute.
I bent to her and t©uçhed her cheek and she chuckled.
“Aww… Little one!” I said as she crawled closer to me and cling to me.
I carried her.
She is such an adorable baby.
But why is she outside this late?
It’s almost 10pm in the night.
“Baby where are your mommy and daddy?” I asked not expecting an answer cos the baby cannot talk.
She shook her head and laughed.
Silly….
I laughed with her.
At least I’ve found a pla-ymate here in the lonely place.
Sandy’s Pov:
“Baby Kira!” we called aloud as we started searching for the baby.
We searched everywhere.
All the nook and crannies of the house yet we didn’t see her.
We were alre-ady wailing when daddy was trying to contact the police.
“Oh baby! Where are you little one?” I cried as I sat on the stairs.
“She was here a while ago but she’s not here anymore” Nicky wailed
“Could someone have carried baby Kira?” Nicholas weep
“Oh kids! Calm down am sure baby Kira is somewhere close and she’s safe OK” Dad said.
“Daddy am really sorry!” I said as I fell on my knees.
“Sorry? What for?” Dad asked confused
“Am sorry because it’s all my fault she got missing… If I hadn’t insisted in this SUMMER PICNIC then maybe baby will still be with us” I said in tears.
Dad snorted and hvgged me.
“Of course not baby! It’s not your fault” Dad said softly.

The sun ray from the window and straight to my eyes.
I breathed heavily as I opened my weak eyes.
I can’t believe I sle-pt on the ba-re ground in the sitting room including my siblings.
We cried ourselves to be-d.
My eyes caught with baby’s picture beside the television.
“Baby Kira!” I cried bitterly
Nicky and Nicholas also woke up.
“Have you seen baby?” Nicky asked as I shook my head in disagreement.
Nicky bur-st into tears.
We held each other ti-ghtly.
Mr Alex’s Pov:
“Damn officer! What do you mean by you still have no information concerning my baby’s disappearance?” I flared up in annoyance.
“C’mon Mr Alexander you know this is going to be easy! I mean we are trying our best sir” the inspector said.
“Bull$h!t! Am freaking out right now…. Your best is certainly not enough” I yelled ban-ging my hand on the desk.
“plea-se calm down Mr Cruz!” The inspector said
“Calm down? Really? I should calm down? Hell no! I want my daughter back” I said as I stood up.
“But Mr Cruz do you…?” The inspector asked.
“Spare me that Mr inspector…. The only words I want to hear right now is “YOUR BABY HAVE BEEN FOUND” ap@rt from that keep your words to yourself… Excuse me!” I said as I got up and walked away.
I got to the garage and to my car and speeded out of the compound.
Oh my little baby…. 👶
I just hope she’s OK!
But where could she be?
Where in heaven’s name is my little one?
I worried as I kept driving.
Goldy’s Pov:
“Ouch…. Take it easy mother!” I yelled in pain as mother applied some balm on my injured cheek.
“Sorry dear l” Mother said
“That good for nothing girl Marga! I’ll strangle her to death if she comes back” I cried
“That girl is nothing but trouble for me” Mother said
“Mother what the hell are you waiting for to kick that girl’s a*s out of this house?” I asked anxiously
“Well not yet Goldy! Her father won’t allow that” Mother said
“Damn! You nee-d to see how that cute guy was starring at that pig Marga” I gro-an ed
Mother looked at me suspiciously with her hand on her w@!st.
“Why are you even so angry about that Goldy? Do you like the man too?” Mother asked anxiously
“Uhm… No… I mean yes… I mean no of course not” I stammered.
Mother nudged me.
“I knew you liked him” Mother said
“Well Mother he’s so handsome and h0t… He looks really rich and I bet he’s not living here” I said
“Really? He looks rich?” Mother asked anxiously
“Yes mother!” I said defensively
“Wow! We are definitely gonna find him and make him love you” Mother said as I smiled broadly.
“Really mother?” I asked excitement
“Of course” Mother said as I jumped for joy and hvgged her.
“Thank you mother!” I said happily.

Few minutes later…
we heard a knock on the door.
Mother and I smiled at each other.
“It’s Marga mother!” I smiled
“Yes… Get re-ady pick up the stick and I’ll get the bucket of chili” Mother said
I quic-kly picked up the stick.
The plan is, once we open the door for Marga, mother will pour the bucket of chilli water on her.
Chilli….. That’s pepper 🌶
and we will wh!pher with the stick thor0ûghly.
We ti-ptoed to the door and quic-kly opened it.
Mother poured out the chilli water.
We g@sped….
“FATHER?” I shouted
Mother threw the pepper water on Father 😱.
