~CHAPTER 17~
I walked to another sp©t far, so far from where he was so I
won’t get to see his annoying face ever again. how could a guy
be so carefree to the extent that everything seems like a joke
to him? maybe he’s the type that has his life running smooth
for him. the type that has both his parents by his side and
doesn’t have any siblings who his parents chooses side from…
Hump!!!!
I sat down but this time my ear buds were stuck in my ears so
I won’t get distracted. but I was wrong, his voice kept on
ringing in my ears “life’s too short to be spent frowning?” hold
on a sec? do I frown too much these days.
After studying, I walked into a restaurant. i ordered a sausage
roll and a cu-p of smoothie. after paying, I took the food to my
car and ate it while driving home.
when i arrived, I had my bath and layed down to sleep.
when I woke up, it was alre-ady time for dinner so I went down
to join the others.
“I never get tired of your delicious meals Audrey” aunt
commented.
“thanks A” mom smiled
I placed the napkin my th!ghs and took the fork and knife on
the table.
“Always good mommy” Alexis said. mom looked at me but I
just continued eating.
“so how was school?” dad asked
“we’re getting re-ady for the final exams and after this we
would all graduate and get a good job… ”
“and get a house and leave this one” I interrupted Alexis
they all looked at me
“what? I wanna leave this house’ I said still eating ” so I’ll try
my best to pas-s the exam and graduate ”
“ok” dad shrugged
we were eating in silence when the land line rang. no one has
ever called using that line except for emergencies so why was
it ringing.
“I’ll get it” I stood up and walked towards the direction.
“hello who is it?” I asked immediately I picked up the
telephone
“Helllllllllllooooooo princess”
i don’t nee-d to ask who it was. it was him again.
“you again? are you stalking me?” i half yelled
“careful. I can see your parents having dinner and you wouldn’t
wanna disturb them”
I could tell he was sm-irking
“how did you know we’re having dinner?” I asked
“well just guessed. you’re wearing a singlet and shorts as well”
he laughed
“are you at my house?”
“now that’s impossible isn’t it? don’t waste your time trying to
find me cause you won’t” he added
“I’m not” I lied. my eyes were trailing round every corner. this
boy is insane and capable of doing anything
“so hope you’re taking my advice?”
“get out of my head” I yelled. I turned around to see everyone
staring at me. I faked a smile and turned to continue the call.
“hahaha”
he was laughing. he’s trying to get me into trouble and he’s
laughing
“I told you to be careful”
“who are you and what do u want from me?”
“nothing much. just to see you smile”
“don’t you ever call this line again got it?”
“I won’t that is if you give me your contact so that I’ll call you
instead”
“never.!!”
“OK then have it your way cause I’ll keep calling and calling…”
“wait. don’t you dare?”
“Alexa who’s on the phone.?” dad asked
“no one. just no one” I smiled
“come and eat. your food is getting cold”
“I’m coming” I placed the phone down and went to continue
with my food. I was about to place the food in my mouth
when it rang again. this time mom went to answer
“Hello?” he called repeatedly “strange. no one’s at the other
end.”
This boy is starting to get on my nerves now.
it rang again for the third time and i decided to answer it.
“you really have no shame left. don’t ever call this number
again”
“i won’t. unless you say sorry”
“for what?”
“for walking out on me today and shouting at me”
“never”
“go on. use the magic word” he urged ” or I’ll keep on calling ”
“I’m sorry”
if that would st©p him from destroying my life then I would say
it
“and you owe me lunch for helping you that day” he continued.
“deal.”
“good night princess” he said before the line went dead.
My life is so full of pesters and disturbances. urghhh!!! I hate
it…

CHAPTER 18
“so tell me more about yourself princess” he asked as he ate
the burger.
Right now, we’re seated in one restaurant OMAR’S BURGERS. I
had no idea about this place but the stupid guy brou-ght me
here. we sat down facing each other. it was Saturday so no
school for me. I wanted to spend today at the bar but I can’t
believe I’m stuck with this guy.
“the name’s… ”
“Zi-p” he placed his f!nger on my l!pbut I shoved it away.
“what gives” I asked.
“it’s better I don’t know. I prefer calling you princess” he said
as he continued eating. I just sat down looking at him like a
b©dyguard watching over someone important.
“so I should know your name and you shouldn’t know mine”
he raised a brow at me “do you want me to know?”
“no not really” I sighed and leaned on the chair
“why aren’t you eating?” he asked staring into my soul
“I didn’t say that I was going to eat if i c@m£ here with you” I
sipped my jui-ce
“how can you not eat when we’re on a d@t£?”
“excuse me?” I asked. both eyes wi-de-ned
“start eating” he urged putting his burger down
“you’re not the boss of me”
“that’s your problem. always trying to make an issue out of
nothing. it’s just food. it’s not like it’s going to harm you. and if
you don’t eat… ” he paused bringing out his cell phone from
his pocket “I’ve just taken a pic of us. wait until the entire
student b©dy finds out that you are on a d@t£ with me” he
gave a smile
“are you threatening me?”
“no princess. it’s called using what you have to get what you
want”
“it’s just gossip.
no one will ever believe it”
“ok I’ll just post it on the net and probably your parents gets to
see it”
oh no. Alexis is always on the net. damn it. this son of a bit-ch
is trying to ruin my life.
“so are you eating?”
I bit myl-ip
“I’ll eat” I took a bite out of the burger “you happy now”
“not quite” he said “why were you at the bar that day. I saw
you drinking and it really hurt me. are you having problems?”
he added
“why are you interfering in my personal life? are you having
problems as well?” I asked in a sarcastic manner.
“No. I’m so alive. no problems to deal with”
I shook my head
“and I’m really serious. you haven’t smiled ever since that day
I first saw you up until now?” he kept his face like someone
feeling a lot confused
“is that normal” he asked himself cause obviously he’s not
talking to me “how can someone not laugh or smile at least?”
he added
“I lost my laughter years ago. I realized there’s nothing left to
make someone laugh” I blurted out. “wait why am I telling you
all of this?”
“you nee-d someone to listen Princess”
“and you think you’re that person?”
“try me” he said but I didn’t say anything.
“ok no rush. I’ll get it out of you one day” he smiled and
continued eating.
“if you can”
“can I ask you a question?”
“whatever” I folded my hands on my che-st
“what have you gained?”
“excuse me?”
“what’s the point of being angry at the world when there’s
nothing really to gain from it. you know when my mom died, I
thought I’ve lost everything. it was just another boring phase of
life for me. I had to live with my dad and brother. I was really
angry but I couldn’t st©p her from dying could i?”
“I’m sorry I didn’t realize”
“you’re finally learning the magic words. I like that” he grinned
“so you have to learn to smile. trust me when I tell you that
life’s too short. live your life and do what you want. cause
anything can happen anytime and you wouldn’t want to spend
your life regretting them” he sighed
“thank you”
“oh my Gosh! did you just use the other magic word without
me asking you too? you deserve an award” he said and I
couldn’t help but giggle and I’m sure he saw it.
“a laugh as well?”
“what?” I chuckled again
“wait. I seriously made you laugh” he asked
I cleared my throat and composed myself “sorry… it just
happened”
“you should look in the mirror. you look like a princess when
you smile”
“i hear you”
“so what do u want to know about me?”
“nothing. except for this, how did you know my landline and
where were you calling from yesterday?”I asked eagerly
waiting for a reply
” that’s a story for another day but trust me when I tell you
that I’m a magician ”
“you’re a what?”
“I got a few magic spells off my sleeve. wanna see?”
“unbelievable” I scoffed and stood up.
“I believe I’ve fulfilled my deal. now stay away from me from
now on” I took my clutch
“that is if I can” he said smiling
“what did you say?”
“I’ll put that in mind” he paid the waiter and I walked out. he
followed me to my car and I got inside.
“bye princess”
I started the engines and drove off. my mind kept on thinking,
how could a guy who’s lost something pretend as if everything
is okay. I couldn’t bear the thought of loosing anyone. I gave
my kidney but I’m still alive but he lost his mom and is so
carefree… That’s life for ya….
