Frederick mother tou-ched Silvia on be-d and her father walked in,
“How are you my dear? Frederick mother asked.
“Not fine ma, how is mommy papa? Silvia asked her father who just leaned on the wall saying nothing.
“papa you’re not saying anything, is it that bad? Silvia asked.
“I’ve told you to forget about that, you wanted saying something before my mother walked in, what is it we nee-d to know? Frederick asked.
“I will not saying anything until I see my mother, take me to her or is that more important than my mother? Silvia asked.
“Your mother is in a critical condition now, if you don’t tell us what is going on how do you expect us to help you both out of this mess? Will seeing your mother help her out of the be-d? The pastor asked.
“Who are you? Silvia asked him.
“He’s my pastor and I brou-ght him here so he can help you, Frederick mother replied.
“Look here Silvia you are wasting our time and soon dusk will fall on us, do you know what is going to happen next? What is it you and your mother did you can’t say out? Silvia father asked.
“Please I’m so sorry for putting you all throu-ghthis stress, please forgive me, Silvia shakily said.
“That apology will be accepted if you stop keeping us waiting, we gat things to do girl, Franca said and Silvia fearfully looked around.
“Calm down, who is this ghost haunting you? The pastor asked.
‘Her…. Her name is Alice, Silvia replied.
“Alice? Is it the Alice I know? Silvia father asked looking at her and she nodded.
“Why is Alice haunting you? Were you two not best friends? Her father asked.
“Which Alice? Frederick mother asked and Silvia began to cry.
“Common speak up, why is she haunting you? Her father sternly asked.
‘Please please let’s calm down, using that tone won’t do any good, we have to hear her out first, The pastor said.
“Silvia, what happened? The pastor turned to Silvia again.
“Alice was…… Was my husband ex that died, Alice said looking at Frederick who blinked his eyes and scoffed.
“Wait wait, what’s going on here? Why is my late fiancee in this discussion and is she the Alice? You mean my Alice? Frederick asked.
“What happened? Fredrick mother asked very interested.
“That….. That day she died, I was with her, Silvia replied.
“And? The pastor asked.
“She was preparing for her wedding then and I was expecting to be her chief bride maid but she chose someone else…….. Please forgive me, Silvia said crying again.
“Oh Silvia keep talking! Her father shouted and already Frederick left her side and leaned on the wall watching her. The faces of her friends wasn’t good and that made her more scared when all the faces that looked at her wore a disappointing look,
“Please its not what you think, I didn’t kill her, Silvia shouted.
“Then why is she haunting you? The pastor asked.
“She’s angry I am getting married to her fiance just that please believe me. She appeared to me telling me she’s still in love with Frederick and nobo-dy has the right to marry him. She promised me eternal torture if I continue and I told her I can’t leave Frederick for any reason and she got so mad, Silvia said breathing ha-rd.
“You said you were with her the day she died, why? Franca asked.
“Oh for the wedding preparations of course, I was dee-ply involved in it and when she began to cough and had difficulty in breathing, she swore no one will get married to Frederick if anything happens to her, Silvia replied.
“I can’t believe this, Frederick mother said cleaning her face.
“Love, please I can never harm her, your ex is still very much in love with you and I didn’t want to tell you, Silvia said stretching her hand to him.
“Alice was and will ever be a good lady, she can’t do this no she can’t, Frederick said.
“You don’t believe me? Why then is she attacking me just when we wanted getting married? Its been 4 years after her death right? But when we wanted getting married she began to torment me just so I can leave you, just so the wedding won’t hold, Silvia said.
‘If that is so Why is she attacking your mother? Franca asked.
“Because my mother challenged her when she attacked, Alice got angry that my mother stood up to her telling her the truth that she’s dead and the dead has nothing to do with the living. That got her upset so much and this is all my fault, my mother is in pains because of me, Silvia replied and burst out crying and the pastor breathed out while Frederick slowly walked up to her to comfort her.
“Its okay, I’m sorry you’re going throu-ghall of this because of me, we will surely end this okay, Fredrick said.
“I’m scared love i’m so scared. At church she appeared very angry, she screamed out that the gown was hers and not mine, she wants to kill me so she can have you to herself, Silvia said holding him ti-ght.
“Ermmm Frederick, have you been seeing the late Alice either in dreams? The pastor asked.
“That was when she earlier died and I was depressed. I do see myself with her but then it stopped, why? Frederick asked back.
“What about feeling someone…… Like a prese-nce is close to you at night or when you’re alone? The pastor asked again.
“No I’ve never, Frederick replied.
“Is it possible Alice is still in love with my son? Frederick mother asked the pastor.
“Yea especially if the said bride died a painful death, from the story the said Alice died before her wedding right? The pastor asked.
“3 days to her wedding and was buried with her wedding dress, Frederick mother replied.
“Then that was painful and her spirit may still lur-k around him, but am surprised your son has not been feeling anything strange. Or do you see yourself mating in the dream? The pastor asked again.
“No not at all, Frederick replied.
“Okay now we are dealing with a jealous angry spirit wife, interesting, Eunice came in.
“It doesn’t look interesting because my wife is fighting with her life now as we speak, Silvia father said.
“Don’t worry sir, the operation will be successful, Frederick Mother said touching him and he checked the time,
“In the next 30 minutes she will be taken to the operation room, Silvia father said.
“The operation will be successful don’t worry about that, in fact can I see her? The Pastor asked and the doctor walked in immediately.
“Ahhh doctor just when we wanted seeing you. Can I see my wife before the operation? Silvia father asked.
“The operation will be at night so we will take our time without disturbance. We have an emergency now to attend to, the doctor replied.
“What are you saying? You want to leave my mother to die? Don’t you know delay is dangerous? Silvia asked.
“We didn’t take such a decision without checking on your mother, don’t worry she will be fine and we will give her all the time for the operation, hers is a delicate one and we have 2 more operations to do, or will you want us to attend to her and hurriedly get set for another patient? The doctor asked.
“But I hope waiting until its night won’t put her in danger right? Silvia father asked.
“Come see for yourself, the doctor replied.
“I want to see her too please, Silvia said.
“But your condition……. “Please I want to see her, is there no wheel chair or something? Silvia cuts in and the doctor heaved.
“I’ll inform the nurse then, excuse me, the doctor said and left and Silvia father worriedly leaned on the wall.
“Now its at night, what are we going to do with this Alice case when she attacks at night also? Franca asked and everyone looked at her.
“Why should you think of such a thing! Frederick mother shouted.
‘I’m sorry but I was just thinking out loud, we haven’t found a solution to her case right and it is very possible she may return this night, Franca replied.
“Don’t worry I’ll be here, the pastor said and Silvia began to breathe heavily……
