📖 Chapter One 📖
📝📝 Tiwa 📝📝
My dad held my hands and squee-zed them gently. “Listen Tiwa, you’re my princess and l love you so much.
It’s not too late plea-se, just re-move the baby in your wo-mb and marry Daniel, he’s gonna take care of you trust—”
I r0ûghly snatched my hands from his and move backward” Dad you said you love me?” I asked
“Yes I do princess I really do!” Dad said
“You love me and you want me to ab-ort my baby? Despite the fact that i don’t know it’s father, I can’t ab-ort my baby! It’s p@rt of me, it’s my blood and flesh!” I said
“Tiwa” My dad said sternly” your wedding is in two weeks! Why did you even sleep with a man who is not your fiance in the first place?” He roared and rose to his feet.

“I was drun!k, I wasn’t my fault! But I don’t regret it at all. I never wanted to marry Daniel anyways” i answered shrugging
“Why? I thought you loved him” dad asked
“I never wanted to agree to the marriage. You and Mom manipulated me. Yes I love Daniel but he’s not the kind of man you think he is,
He’s a man who-re and a cold arrogant j£rk” I answered
“Tiwa there’s nothing you can do. We alre-ady made an agreement with Daniel’s parents. I do l tell them my daughter got pregnant for another man?!” Dad said
“You don’t have to tell them I’m pregnant. Just tell them I’m not interested in the marriage anymore”
“Daniel’s father gonna destroy me don’t you get it? You know the kind of person he is Tiwa” dad said
“Don’t stress yourself dad, I’m not gonna change my mind. I’m keeping this-”
“Shut the hell up!” Dad roared and sl@pped me ha-rd ” don’t use that tone on me again! And you better decide before tomorrow morning or else—”
“Or else what?” I yelled cutting him off. Answer me dad, or else what? You have no right to tell me what to do.
Scratch that, you alre-ady lost the right to tell me what to do the moment you confirmed that you’re not my father”
How dare you speak to my husband in that manner?” My mom yelled angrily.
Her anger instead of deterring me, it compelled me to say additional words.
“I should have known I wasn’t p@rt of you! The way everyb©dy in this family treated me said it all.
Was it the days I’d go to be-d without food? Or days mom would insult me and I would cry myself to sleep every night?.
I did everything to plea-se everyb©dy in this family. I even started working at a young age just because I didn’t want to disturb anyone when I nee-d anything but guess what?
Mom, you would collect my salary from me without giving me a dime!. Every night, all of your would gather at the dinner table to have dinner together whereas I would be in the kitchen cooking.
When Daniella my elder sister had kidney problem, none of you could donate your kidney for her but I did because I love her even though she doesn’t like me”
I paused and made eye contact with Daniella. Surprisingly, she was sm-irking. I looked away and continue” I remember when Timi your friend’s son can to stay with us,
Every night, he would haras-s me but thankfully he didn’t r@p£ me. I told all of you but nob©dy believed me.
Mom even said that I was the one that is s£dûç!ng him. If I continue to say the thing everyone in this family did to me a day or two would pas-s and I still won’t be done, except Victoria.
Despite all that my family, my only family and I will continue to be TIWA LEWIS!” right now I am my only family.
After my tirade, I made eye contact with everyone. Mom’s face was blank, it held no emotion. Daniella and Adeshola were sm-irking, those two enjoyed ma-king me cry a lot.
Victoria had tears stained checks, she probably cried during my long angry speech and dad’s eyes were glas-sy, I saw unshed tears in them.
“Tiwa I’m sorry! We had no right to treat you like that, plea-se forgive us” my dad said and a single tears slid down his eyes,
Followed by another one and another one, until a steady stream of tears flowed it’s way down his cheeks with no sign of st©pping.
I moved closer to him, wiped his tears away with my hand and hvgged him ti-ghtly.
“Daddy plea-se let me go, I don’t want to marry Daniel. I’ll leave this place and never come back. plea-se help me” I pleaded.
“Don’t worry princess, I’ll help you. You’ve been throu-gh so much alre-ady and I don’t want you to go throu-gh pain anymore”
A smile made its way to my face showing my pearly white teeth.
“Thank you so much dad, I love you”
“I love you too princess, now go and pack your stuff, you’ll leave tomorrow. I’ll call my sister in Lagos and you’ll stay with her pending the time you get your own ap@rtment”
📖 Chapter Two 📖📝
🤰🤰🤰 Tiwa
I was almost done packing my clothes when Daniella walked in.
“Hey little sis” she greeted cheerfully
“Hi” I said
“Hey come on! Are you missing me alre-ady? I’m so sad you’re leaving though.
Who will be my errand girl when you leave?
Who will I bully?” She said wiping imaginary tears away from her face.
“Who said I am not happy too? I said.
I’m so happy that I’m finally free from you! The only thing ma-king me sad is the fact that I was adopted”
“Tell me, how come you don’t know the guy you had a one night stand with?” Daniella asked.
“Like I said earlier, I was drun!k. The only thing I know is that his name is Marteen and I still remember his physical features very well.
I can recognize him if I see him” I answered
“Who said you gonna see him? You may or may not meet him again.
If I were you, I’ll just ab-ort that bastard” she said gesturing to my stomach
“Don’t you dare call my baby a bastard!” I yelled
“Wow, Tiwa you’ve grown wings” Daniella said
“Daniella just leave me alone” I pleaded
“What if I don’t want to?” She asked raising a brow
This girl likes trouble.
“plea-se, I’m begging. Don’t I deserve to be happy after all I’ve been throu-gh?
I’m sick and tired of being pushed around Daniella.
I just want to be free and happy, is that too much to ask for?
Aren’t you tired of ma-king me sad?” I said
Something that looked like guilt flashed throu-gh Daniella’s eyes, but she hid it immediately. Or am i seeing things?
“Don’t you dare make me feel bad. It’s not my fault that you were adopted” she said shrugging
“I know it’s not your fault and I’m not trying to make you feel bad”
“I’m glad you do. You know what Tiwa? There’s a p@rt of me that’s actually glad you’re leaving. You Know why?”
“No” I answered and furrowed my face in confusion
“I’ll tell you, I really like Daniel. I’ve like him since the day I set my eyes on him.
I was actually thinking of calling him before to tell him you’re leaving but then it wouldn’t make s-en-se, it would only ruin my chance of being with him” she said
I was surprised, scratch that! I was shocked. I moved closer to her and held her shoulder.
“Daniella look at me, Daniel isn’t the kind of guy you think he is! He deceived me. plea-se don’t even go near him”
She stayed quite and thought about what I said for a while
“Tiwa, you’re probably lying against him” she said
“Im not lying! You have to trust me Daniella”
Shared on whatsapp by Martino.
“I’ve made up my mind little sis” she said
“Daniella plea-se don’t—”
“Shut up! I’m not gonna change my mind” she snapped and walked out.
“I’ve tried my best..” I murmured to myself and I sighed.
At Aunty Esther’s House
“Tiwa! Tiwa!!” Aunty Esther yelled repeatedly
“I’m coming ma!” I answered
I stood up from my warm be-d and made my way to the parlor where I know aunty Esther would be.
I kner down before her and her husband and I greeted them politely.
“Good morning ma, Good Morning sir” I said
“Morning Tiwa” Aunty Esther’s husband Mr. Anthony answered.
“Why are you just waking up? Don’t you know what the time is?
The time says 8:00 A.M! If I didn’t even call your name, will you even stand up?” She said
“I’m sorry ma, I sle-pt late last night and I am very tired” I said
“So? What if you sle-pt late? What am I even saying, was it not 12pm that you went to be-d last night? You call that late?” She said
“Will you shut your mouth! You know you have a lot of things to do today and you’re just—–”
“Darling it’s okay, leave the poor girl alone.
You know she’s pregnant” Mr. Anthony said
“So? Is she the only woman that will ever get pregnant? I have child too”
“I know but just take things easy with her”
“I don’t know why you’re taking her side” she said to her husband
“Hmmm, whatever, I have said my own.. I just pray this girl won’t faint one day” she said
“That’s her own problem, I don’t care. Back to you Tiwa, the first thing you have to do is to make breakfast
Then you have to clean the kitchen, my room, my daughter room and this parlor.
Tthe bathroom and toilet are not left out too. Make sure you wash them very well.
When you’re done cleaning, gather everyb©dy’s clothes and wash them.
Don’t wash your clothes with the soap okay? If you want to wash your clothes, buy your own soap.
And my daughter complain that you refuse wash your un-der wears very well.
I don’t want complain this time around or else you’ll wash them again.
The compound nee-ds cleaning too but before that, trim the flowers first so that you’ll kill two birds with one stone.
After cleaning, quic-kly rush down to my friend’s house, I mean Aminas mom and collect he shoe I borrowed her yesterday.
I don’t have transport fare to give you that means you’ll trek. It’s just an hour and half journey you’ll be fine. On your way back home, you’ll br@nch at the market and buy somethings for me but you–”
“Darling, you told me Tiwa is your brother’s daughter, why are you giving her instructions like she’s your maid or something” Mr Anthony questioned, confusion evident on his face.
“Point of correction dear, she’s my brother’s adopted daughter so what’s the difference between her and a maid?” She answered
“Don’t you think what you’re asking her to do in this her condition is too much?” He asked
“Is she complaining? plea-se leave me” she said
“What exactly is our daughter doing in this house? Even is she can’t do anything, she should at least be able to wash her own clothes
And clean the rooms, kitchen and parlour” He said
“Really? You want that 20yrs old girl to do all of that? Do you like Tiwa more than our daughter?” She asked
“If our 20yrs old daughter can’t do what I listed then why should Tiwa be the one to do it? Is it because she’s not your daughter?
You this woman be very careful in this house! What exactly is your problem?
Why did you take her in when you know fully well that you can’t treat her right?” He asked
“So you’re shouting on me because of this thing?” Aunty Yelled and me maliciously.
Then she added, you see what you’ve caused Tiwa?” She yelled again and pushed me unto the floor.
“Ahhhh” I screamed in pain and held my stomach with my hands. Mr Anthony rused to my side and helped me up.
