Subtitle: I’m innocent
KENDRA’S POV
I couldn’t believe my ears when the police who came to arrest femi said why they were arresting him…. I was in total shocked, he looked at me with a sad face, I should have believe that face but I didn’t…. not because I doubted him but because my mind was wondering who would lie against him in such a way.
Do you know what it means to be labeled a rapist and an abuser? it means his pastoral career is over if God did not save him.
PASTOR FEMI
I don’t un-derstand, who did u ra-pe and tried to kill?
FIRST OFFICER
that’s all we came tell you sir, when you get to the station you will know the rest.
He was handcuffed like a common criminal and was taken out of the church.
a lot of people took out their phones and recorded it…. I didn’t fight or even beg that they let him go, I just stood there and watched them drag him away.
I picked my bag and went home, why did I go home and not the station? what would I be doing there when I know that they won’t answer me… so I went home to talk to my God, I went on my knees and started to pray.
“father lord, you know your son, you know him better than anyone else… you have seen the accusation placed on him…. I don’t know if his innocent but I know you know because you see all our hearts … come and fight for him, put his enemies to shame… disgrace them and save your son”
I prayed and got up and sat on my bed, my heart was heavy, so many unanswered questions on my mind.
My phone started to ring, I brou-ght it out from my bag and it was chioma
CHIOMA
what is this I’m seeing online that pastor femi beat and ra-ped someone to coma
KENDRA
this morning we were in church when police came and arrested him claiming he ra-ped someone.
CHIOMA
this is unbelievable Ken, pastor femi is not someone like that, I might not know him too well, but my spirit is never wrong…. that man is innocent… beside is it not yesterday you guys came back from your trip? so when did all this happen?
KENDRA
I have no idea chioma, I’m just as confuse as you are.
CHIOMA
where are you right now?
KENDRA
I’m at home
CHIOMA
you are at home? doing what? why didn’t you follow them to the station? why did you go home? wait ken, don’t tell me you believed all that lie?
KENDRA
of course I didn’t believe it, I came home because I know the Nigeria police would not let me see him and talk with him…. even if they will, not now.
CHIOMA
I’m coming first thing tomorrow morning, I nee-d to see the face of the stupid girl that would lie against the man of God
KENDRA
I will really appreciate it if you can make it chi, I’m gradually losing my mind
CHIOMA
don’t worry to much, I’m sure they will rele-ase him once they find out his innocent.
KENDRA
I’m worried, I’m just worried.
CHIOMA
chill babe, everything is going to be alright.
We talked about other things but I wasn’t interested because all I was thinking about was femi.
Later that day I went to the station to see him but they wouldn’t let me see him…. they said he would hurt me….. all my plead fell on deaf ears…. but one good thing came out from the visit…. it was at the station I knew who was behind his arrest…. it was Lilian jackson, she was the person who framed him up.
I begged they give me the address of the hospital she’s in so I can go talk to her woman to woman but they sent me out of the station like a little child and said I wasn’t his relative so why did I carry the case on my head like he was my husband or brother.
The next day I was still in bed when my phone beef, it was Timmy, he text to remind me his wedding was schedule for the weekend…. I hissed and dropped the phone, he was getting married when they love of my life is being accused for what he did not do…… suddenly I remembered Timmy is a lawyer and he can help me
I quickly grabbed my phone and called him back, he picked immediately.
TIMMY
hey big madam, how are you?
KENDRA
I’m fine, I just got your text…. congratulations husband to be
TIMMY
(He chuckled)
thanks ken… how have you been?
KENDRA
if you asked me this yesterday I would have said I’m fine but right now I’m not fine Tim
TIMMY
what happened? you can talk to me
KENDRA
an innocent man is about to be sent to jail for what he knows nothing about.
TIMMY
okay, so what are they accusing him of?
KENDRA
ra-pe and attempted murder.
TIMMY
who is this person Ken? in this world you know it’s our world against yours…I mean women… when a woman stands up and accuse a man, it’s either she’s saying the truth or lying….. are you sure this friend of yours is innocent?
KENDRA
I’m sure his innocent, I know this man better than I know myself…. his not what people say he is … his an angel in a human form.
TIMMY
sometimes we don’t really know people at all… but if you are sure his innocent….tell me how I can be of help.
KENDRA
I want you to come down to Abuja tomorrow, he has been in the police costudy since yesterday and they wouldn’t let me see him.
TIMMY
is it that pastor that has gone viral on the internet you are talking about?
KENDRA
yes, his the one.
TIMMY
I really liked that pastor, and honestly he doesn’t look like someone who can do something like that.
KENDRA
you see what I’m telling you? I know femi so well, I know his innocent… lilain is just doing all this because pastor femi doesn’t want her anymore.
TIMMY
if truly his a man of God, then I think this is the right time for him to start calling on his God because he would nee-d him to come out of this mess.
KENDRA
so are you going to help me Timmy? I know you are the best lawyer that can handle this case
TIMMY
I’m planning for my wedding ken…. but for old time sake I will squee-zeout time to come tomorrow
KENDRA
thank you so much tim, I really appreciate this…. I will be expecting you tomorrow?
TIMMY

I ended my call, I wasn’t feeling hungry, I had so much to worried about than thinking of food…. around 12pm chioma called that she was at the airport, I immediately got dress and went to pick her up….. it was the first time we were seeing in months, my best friend had lost so much weight, I get thelost of her pregnancy really hit her ha-rd.

Subtitle: good people always win
NARRATOR’S POV
Two days after Lilian was admitted at the hospital, the head doctor came to check on her, he was surprised to see how her skin was changing…. his mind immidiately went to the sickness that alot of people hate to hear…but to be on the safer side he decided to have Lilian tested….. after three days her result came out and his suspicious were correct… Lilian had cancer and it was already in stage four….. she has ba-rely two months to live.
He still couldn’t un-derstand how someone with cancer can live healthy for a very long time and not show it…. turn suddenly the sickness shows up in a big and grand style.
He felt pity for Lilian, he didn’t know how to deliver the news to her that she ba-rely have two months to live….. he felt Lilian had suffered enough in the hands of the monster she calls her fiancee…. he felt the heaven were on fair to her.
No matter how difficult a situation is, doctors always find a way around it…. he didn’t go, because he couldn’t bear seeing the look on her face when he tells her she’s dying soon.
he sent his junior colleague to go tell her that she has cancer and she wouldn’t be going home Soon.
Lilian almost lost her mind when they told her she had cancer, where did cancer come from?
LILIAN
you don’t un-derstand doctor, I’m fine, nothing is wrong with me, I can’t have cancer… wait does cancer just fly into people’s body? I did series of test last months….i was clean….how within a space of 26 dasy I’m already with a cancer that can kill me? this is not fair doc, redo the test, there must be a mistake somewhere.
DOCTOR
I un-derstand how you feel madam, this result also came to us as a shock… this kind of stuffs are ha-rdly seen…. and as for the test, we did it in two different hospital to he sure we were sending out the correct result.
LILIAN
this can’t happen to me, no, I can’t die now….at least nit yet
She was saying and crying profusely…. the doctor nodded his head in pity and left.
pastor femi was taken to court, and as God will have it the case didn’t spend a day there before it was thrown out….. pastor femi’s father who happens to be a judge flew to Nigerian after hearing the news of his second son.
He was very angry that his son would be treated like a common criminal, he immidiately demand they rele-ase his son and start up the investigation….. if his son was truly guilty then he would personal send his son to prison for treating a woman like that.
Nigeria police who never thought of going to the crime scene to pick up evidence were arrested for not doing their jobs well….. new set of police were as-signed to the case and within weeks the truth finally came out that Lilian was lying all along.
That angered Lilian even more, her body has changed alot, her hair was already peeling off yet she was still wicked and bittered… after the doctors found that she lied against the man of God, they all hated her and said God can not be mocked….. the head doctor said God is punishing her with cancer because of the sins she had committed.
The news of pastor femi’s innocence sprayed like an harmattan wind….all the social Media were talking about the news…. social Media investigators dug out Lilian’s Past and brou-ght it online to drag her even more….. few days into the dragging a woman came out to talk about how Lilian almost killed her because of her husband… the woman in details said
“my boyfriend then who is now my husband was dating this witch, after dating her for few months he noticed she wasn’t good for him, she drinks, smokes, and like violence so much…. even when making love she always want my boyfriend to beat her till she bleeds…. according to her she enjoys se-x that way… my boyfriend as of then didn’t feel comfortable so he tried to quit but lilan won’t have any of it… he secretly started to date me, few weeks to the relationship he told me everything and I remained in the relationship, Emma is a man every woman would ask for… long story cut short, she ambushed me one day and tried to Stab me, thank God that I’m not a weak persona she would have plugged out my eyes…. this scar on my right arm ? she gave it to me in the process when i was trying to save myself…. Lilian is a beast, maybe that pastor was trying to leave her and she went crazy again”
The dragging continued for weeks, and the more they dragged her, the more she was getting closer to her time of death… at the hospital they couldn’t send her away because they swore an oath to save lives….
Pastor femi and his woman left for garmany few days after his release, hid father insisted he left the country till everything calms down.
Chioma on the other hand left Francis and moved to Abuja to stay in her friend’s house till she gets back from the state.
She opened her beauty shop and continued her life like nothing happened.
Soon she was opened to new relationship but all the men coming hey way were either fli-rting type or they just wanted her money because she’s rich.
SIX MONTHS LATER
Pastor femi and his woman came back to Nigeria, chioma was the cab woman that went to pick them up, she told them she will he so angry if they left the airport and not wait for her.
so kendra prmoieed to wait…. chioma like a crazy woman drove to the airport to pick her friend and fiancee….
The two ladies hu-gged and scream like little children who have really missed their mummy.
CHIOMA
I’m so happy you guys are finally back
KENDRA
I miss you so much babe
CHIOMA
(She hu-gs femi)
welcome back pastor, and thanks for taking good care of my sister
KENDRA
We took care of each other
PASTOR FEMI
And she’s jealous again.
CHIOMA
(she laughs)
don’t mind her…. let’s go home, I prepare something very delicious, yo are going to like it.
PASTOR FEMI
I bet I would.
They entered the car, and chioma drove them home… on their way going they started to gist and it led to lilain issue
CHIOMA
no one can battle with the Lord and win, she has been doing that with so many people… but what she didn’t un-derstand is that everyone has a different grace….. see the way she just wasted her life….. heard she found out she had cancer that same time you were arrested and she died few weeks after.
KENDRA
I thank God we came out victorious, what if femi’s father had not intervene? my babe would have been locked up because of her lies and the lack of intelligence from our Nigeria police.
PASTOR FEMI
In everything give thanks…. and this is also a big lesson to me and everyone out there… if you are bless with the gift of hearing from the Lord, use it very well…. when I first met Lilian I just liked her because of her boldness, soon I started to get attra-cted to her, immediately I went to God in prayers but he was silent, he didn’t say anything… I should have stopped because there was no time I call on him and he didn’t answer… for him to not have answered me, ment something but I kept pushing…..every disobedience comes with a punishement….. that was my own punishment that I faced….. I’m happy at last we all can smile and say thank you Lord.
Kendra and chioma decided to do their girly night gossip after pastor femi had gone to bed…. that was when chioma told kendra about her new boyfriend.
KENDRA
why didn’t you tell me all this while? no wonder the glowing
CHIOMA
stop joor, you know I work and eat well, so i should glow.
KENDRA
see you, I’m talking about glow from good se-x
(she winks)
CHIOMA
(shocked)
we haven’t had se-x yet…. his not rushing things and I like it that way.
KENDRA
oh wow, he must really be a gentleman
CHIOMA
(She blus-hed)
yes he is…. tell me have you two started having s-×?
KENDRA
No, what are you saying ? his a pastor remember?
CHIOMA
even after the engagement you guys still haven’t started doing it?
KENDRA
No, we will only in the night of our wedding.
CHIOMA
so, does it mean you haven’t told him you are a V¡rgin?
KENDRA
(She covers chi’s mouth)
shhh he doesn’t know yet.
chioma nodded her head and laughed really ha-rd.
THERE WEEKS LATER
At the wedding pastor femi and kendra were surprised to see Michael but they didn’t know Michael is the same person chioma had been talking about.
At the reception chioma introduce michael to Ken and femi as her fiancee….. both femi and Ken were surprised but were very happy for them…. Ken knew her friend was safe with Michael, Michael is a very nice man and very sweet…. with him in chioma’s life she will always be happy.
