All I could hear was my voice, I was screaming at the t©p of my lungs, why was I screaming? I thought and immediately woke up from my de-ep slumber.
I breathed in heavily and looked around the room, Henry quic-kly rushed up to me and asked.
âAre you okay?â.
âYeah⊠Iâm fine!â I sighed as I realised what I had was a memory, a memory without an actual vision.
âOh⊠Okay⊠go back to sleep then, itâs two in the morning!â Henry said quietly, he looked sleepy but heâs trying his best to stay awake.
âOh okayâŠâ I nodded and closed my eyes.
I opened them again and his eyes asked me. âWhat? Again?â.
âWonât you go to sleep?â I asked.
âNo⊠Iâm fine⊠I actually have to keep an eye on the IV fluid bag, to know when itâll dry out!â He said.
âNo nee-d,â I glanced at the IV bag, âItâs still full and I think you nee-d rest!â I said quietly.
âNo plea-se Rose, youâre the one who nee-ds enough rest!â. Henry said.
âBut you look like you couâ
âplea-se just go back to sleep!â he begged and I gave up.
âOkay, then, goodnight!â I said and shut my eyes.
âGoodnight!â I heard his low face and felt hisl-ips on my forehead, before he walked away from the be-d.
My eyes bec@mÂŁ heavy all of a sudden and I drifted to sleep.
*.
*.
I was excited when I saw myself, I suddenly knew it was another memory, but suddenly I could see myself no more and everywhere was blank.
â
â
Suddenly I saw Tina and I walking alone in a cold and quiet street, we were both cold and we walked ba-refooted, it was nighttime but street lights brightened the whole street.
Did my memory continued from where it st©pped last?
I thought.
Cause we were wearing the Same clothes from my last memory where Tina held my hand and we both ran out of the house.
As the both of us walked throu-gh the cold street ba-refooted, I started to freeze and Tina was too.
I sighed and turned to her immediately.
âTina go home!â I had said.
âWhat why?â.
âYou didnât do anything, and besides I think your mom wants me out of the house not you!â I said folding my hand, because the cold was too much, I couldnât take it.
âBut if I go back home, sheâll never let you back, And I want you back!â She sniffed.
âThanks Tina,â I smiled at her.
âOh itâs so cold⊠No wonder shelterâs so good!â Tina said and when I tried to smile, I couldnât cause my face was a bit frozen from the coldness.
âCâmon letâs walk to Henryâs house itâs not far from ours!â I said and me and Tina continued our journey.
*
My eyes slowly opened to another day and I breathed out a sigh of relief.
âMorning sleepy head! You woke up just in time!â Tinaâs voice said and I almost smiled at Joe familiar it had become.
âTinaâŠâ I smiled at her.
âYeah Rose!â she smiled back, she had always loved me. The past, the future, she loves me.
âGood morning!â I said.
âGood morning to you too and guess what?â she half yelled.
I gave her a Confused look and she laughed.
âYouâre getting better day by day and we received information about you going to be discharged very soon!â Tina rejoiced.
âReally?â I asked.
âYes, according to the doctors, your amnesia isnât too serious or going to be stable or permanent cause everyday you get to recall your memories, and according to your b©dy health and weight, youâve gain a little weight, and youâre getting more blood, your heart and breathing is stable, and your talking is even more clearer!â Tina explained and I smiled.
Thank God.
âOh Iâm so proud of you, youâre a fighter, youâve always been a fighter! Physically, mentally any type of âAllyâ youâve always been a fighter!â Tina joked and we laughed.
âThatâs why you always beat me up when we were kids, youâre stronger even though, youâre just older than me with a few months. I mean itâs not fair right?â Tina smiled ma-king me laugh⊠out loud.
I mean for the first time, I heard my laughing voice.
âOkay, Get re-ady for your bath!â Tina announced and I nod.
.
She helped me brushed my teeth, took my bath and helped me in another hospital dress.
I was having breakfast, when Aaron c@mÂŁ in with two nurses.
âGood morning Rosieâ Aaron said cheerfully.
âGood morning!â I replied focused on my food.
âYeah, youâre really doing great, looking healthy alre-ady, isnât this your third day since you woke up?â He smiled staring at his cli-pboard.
âYeah I shared the good news with her, sheâs recovering quic-kly and will be discharged soon!â Tina said.
Aaron smiled âOkay⊠good, I know youâre having breakfast but if you can just put your food down for a minute and take your injection,âŠ
âOkay!â I replied before he could complete his words.
Placing my food away, the two nurses stepped beside me and looking at the syringe it wasnât looking friendly with me at all, it had orange liquid inside and when the nurse folded the hand of my cloth up I breathed in, and as she cleanse the place sheâll be shoving the nee-dle. I shut my eyes and whinced when the first and the second nee-dle was shoved in my skin.
âThatâs Rose for you, she never liked taking sh0tsâ Tina giggled as the nurses placed a cotton wool over the place they pierced the nee-dle.
âNo kidding!â I replied taking back my food,
âOkay⊠Rose, thanks, i would have wished you speed recovery but youâre alre-ady fas-ter than speed itself, so have a great day!â Aaron said ma-king me laugh and then he walked away. While the two nurses trailed behind him.
âOh heâs so sweet!â Tina smiled.
âYeah, and is it true? About it not being a doctor?â I asked.
âWho Aaron?â
I nodded.
Tina laughed, âOf course heâs a doctor!â
âBut he told me since his father own this hospital he just have to act like heâs a real doctor, my memorising peopleâs medication and stuff!â I explained.
âUhh I donât know what youâre talking about!â Tina giggled and then glanced down at her expensive looking watch.
âAre you going somewhere?â I asked.
âHuh?â she suddenly looked up.
âYouâve been looking down at your watchâ I tell her.
âOh⊠Yeahâ She laughed nervously. âSee I work at a tailor shop for just this summer, I just have to know a little about fashion before going back to college, and the tailor, Mrs Catherine, she is really strict. Me even mentioning her name is giving me chills and Iâve promised to come by her shop today by twelve pm and itâs almost twelve, Iâve been missing out a lot because Iâve been coming here, I really wish I can stay here longer but I canât, and Henry told me heâll be here by eleven thirty, and now itâs even fifty!â Tina sighed.
âOh, I un-derstand!â I said quietly.
Sheâs in college now? Was I in college before this happened to me or⊠What was I doing?
God, a person without memories is like a homeless person in New York.
The door to the ward suddenly opened and Henry walked in.
âAnd thatâs why,â I heard a tiny voice follow.
âOh Henry thank God youâre here alre-ady!â Tina rolled her eyes walking to the door.
âAunt Tina!!!â a little black haired girl ran up to Tina giving her a hvg.
âOh, joy!â Tina exclaimed bending down to hvg the girl.
I glance at Henry and he smiled at her.
âHow are you doing?â Henry asked as he walked up to me and gr@bbÂŁd my hands.
âBetter!â I shrugged.
I quic-kly turned to the little girl running up to Tina at the door.
âWhere are you going?â she yelled at Tina.
âIâm going to work, now go to your dad!â Tina yelled back.
âi want to go with.. With you!â she said stretching out her hands.
âYou canât, now go!â Tina Said quic-kly running out and closing the door before Joy could follow her.
âIs thatâŠ?â I smiled at Henry and he nodded as we both watched joy walked over to Henry with her tiny b©dy.
Oh sheâs so cute Iâm going to cry
I canât believe we both created this angel.
âJoyâŠâ Henry called as he lifted her and placed her on the be-d, I had to adjust a little but somehow I didnât cause her little b©dy fit the sp©t Henry dropped her.
âDaddyâŠâ Joy called but suddenly turned to me when I called her name and held her hand.
She looked at me strangely and suddenly pu-ll-ed her hand away from mine.
And that hurt me, she doesnât know who I am, my child doesnât even know who her mother is.
