EPISODE 37
OSCAR’S POV
whoever chenemi was speaking with on the phone actually makes her happy.
I’m glad that she came back to me, even though she wouldn’t let me express my feelings or tell her how sorry I am….. I dare not wish for anymore.
after lunch chenemi went into her room to stay while I stayed in the living room relaxing…. throu-ghout the time she was cooking in the kitchen I tried to talk to her but she kept changing the topic and I had to stop so as not to piss her off.
I heard a slight knock on the door, I asked the person to come in thinking it was Ali my gate man… I was shocked when I lifted my head and saw Amanda standing and smiling at me like she just won a lottery.
OSCAR
(I jumped up)
what are you doing here?
AMANDA
what do you mean by what I’m I doing here? I’m here to see my boyfriend.
OSCAR
what boyfriend? Amanda you and I broke up months ago….i don’t know why you are here suddenly saying ru-bbish.
AMANDA
“broke up”? how ? did you text me and break with me or you came to my house to inform me”?
I was so scared, why did Amanda have to come today of all days? for almost a month I was in this house alone she never came for once….. just now that chenemi and I are trying to work something out she came back saying ru-bbish.
OSCAR
please leave my house, I don’t want my….
Before I could complete my statement Amanda jumped on me ki-ssing me so pas-sionately, I tried to push her off but she wrapped her hands around my ne-ck so ti-ghtly…..
In that awkward moment chenemi barged in on us….. I didn’t know where that strength came from I pulled Amanda from my body so strongly and threw her on the couch.
CHENEMI
I’m sorry for interrupting you guys, by all means carry on.
OSCAR
it’s not what you think babe…….
She turn back and ran upstairs, I wanted to follow her but Amanda pulled me back.
AMANDA
Did I just hear you call her “babe”? when did she become your babe? the last time I checked you said she means nothing to you and she’s a bush meat…. so how come suddenly you like that bush meat?
I looked at her angrily, I was so tempted to slap her face because I was sure she saw chenemi coming that was why she ki-ssed me…..she wanted to prove a point and she did… she had added fuel to the fire that was already burning.
OSCAR
I don’t want to come back and meet you here manda…. if you know what’s good for you… leave here before I return.
AMANDA
you lie Oscar….I’m not going anywhere….beside why should I leave when I am carrying your baby
OSCAR
you want?
AMANDA
you heard me right….. I am pregnant.
OSCAR
You must be joking Manda, you and I were done months ago…. so where did this pregnancy come from?
AMANDA
oga you can say whatever you like…but have it in the back of your mind that I’m here to stay…
We were still talking when her sister walked in pulling two heavy bags with her.
OSCAR
and who is this?
AMANDA
oh, sorry let me quickly introduce you two…. baby meet my elder sister Anita… Anita meet the father of my unborn child…. the love of my life.
I was shocked, it’s obvious my village people have started to shake my pot again else why would Amanda just come suddenly with a pregnancy that I’m not sure if it’s mine…..claiming I’m the father…. she even came with her elder sister….. this is the real definition of “I am finished”
OSCAR
have you gone mad? we broke up about two months ago…. how come you are here with this nonsense story.
ANITA
Mr man did you sleep with her or not? no that’s not supposed to be the question….did you had an unprotected s-× with her?
OSCAR
what kind of stupid question is that? what if i did?
ANITA
if you don’t want me to show you madnes right here and now…. you had better show us to our rooms because as you can see we are here to stay… my sister deserve all the care and attention she can get right now.
I slowly helped myself to a couch, what have I gotten myself into? why can’t I just do something and do it well?
AMANDA
Anita don’t worry I know my way around the house.
She lead the way and her sister followed her… I suddenly remembered my love chenemi, I ran upstairs to meet her… without knocking I barged into her room.
OSCAR
I’m sorry about that babe…. it’s not what you think.
CHENEMI
you don’t nee-d to explain yourself really… she’s your girlfriend isn’t she?
OSCAR
girlfriend? Amanda and I ended things that night you beat her up…. I don’t know why she’s here suddenly.
CHENEMI
please lock my door when you are going out… I want to take a nap.
OSCAR
(I quickly went on my knees)
chenemi please listen to what I’m telling you…. I don’t have anything to do with Amanda or any other girl…
CHENEMI
why are you stressing yourself explaining this to me? like seriously I don’t care…. please return back to what you were doing before.
OSCAR
chenemi, I know that I have really hurt you….i know that I haven’t been the perfect man that you deserve and desi-re…. but truly I’m ready to change, I’m ready to be a better man for you… your man
CHENEMI
(she smiled)
oscar…. you hurt me yes but I’m here now….what does that tell you? it means I have forgiven you isn’t it?
OSCAR
(I grabbed her feet)
baby please…..
She was going to say something when Amanda barged in on us….. immediately she came and pulled me up from the ground.
AMANDA
what’s the meaning of this nonsense? why are you kneeing in front of this small girl?
OSCAR
Amanda what exactly is your problem?
AMANDA
baby, you shouldn’t be doing this…. you know I love you so much and it breaks my heart to see you like this.
OSCAR
See me like how?
CHENEMI
Mr and Mrs can you please leave my room?
AMANDA
(She looked at chenemi coldly)
judging from the way you are dressed, I can say you have really improve from the last time I saw you…. but I want you to know that no matter how you dress now you can’t take my man away from me…. I’m already pregnant with his child.
I looked at chenemi’s face and her face was motionless, I couldn’t read her face to now how she was feeling.
OSCAR
I have told you Amanda, I’m not the father of that thing you call pregnancy.
ANITA
(She entered)
you lie…. you are the father of this unborn child and you must perform your duty.
AMANDA
talking about duty, I suddenly feel horny… babe let’s go to our room so you could give me some sugar.
She grabbed my dic-k in front of chenemi…. I quickly removed her hand from it and moved back… chenemi got up and left the room for us.

OJOCHENEMI POV
Honestly it really came as a shock to me when I heard Amanda said she’s pregnant for oscar…. it hurt me so much but what can I do? the strength I hand in my isn’t for fighting anymore.
I had to excuse them, I went to seat in the living room to think of my life…. I had ba-rely sat down when my phone started to rain….. it was kunle calling me again.
I thought for a while before answering before answering his call.
KUNLE
mama twins how are you?
CHENEMI
I’m fine…sorry I slept off the other time.
KUNLE
common I un-derstand…. so how are you and the baby?
CHENEMI
we are fine…. thanks for asking.
KUNLE
you are welcome….. how’s Oscar?
CHENEMI
his fine…. are you still at work?
KUNLE
yeah…. and that’s why I called
CHENEMI
hope no problem?
KUNLE
not at all…. chenemi I will be away for some days…. I want to go to Germany for something important.
hearing that kunle would not be available this time that I nee-d him more worsen my situation and I started to cry.
KUNLE
why are you crying chenemi?
CHENEMI
why is everyone treating me like this? Oscar just brou-ght his pregnant girlfriend home and how you want to leave me too.
I complained crying bitterly…. he was silent for a little time before he spoke.
KUNLE
he brou-ght his girlfriend home? and she’s claiming to be pregnant?
I nodded my head like he could see it
KUNLE
Have you given him the opportunity to explain himself yet?
CHENEMI
what is there to explain? she’s pregnant
KUNLE
you can’t be too sure darling, what is she’s not pregnant? what if all she wants is to blackmail Oscar to get money?
CHENEMI
it’s obvious you are now Oscar’s anti fan…. maybe you can as well explain to me why he was ki-ssing her in the living room.
KUNLE
what!!! this is unbelievable…. but wait, have you told him about your pregnancy?
CHENEMI
Not yet, I was still taking my time to see if he deserved to know the truth or not… turn this happened
KUNLE
I’m short of words chenemi….. what is wrong with oscar…. what ?
CHENEMI
please don’t leave me, if you do I’m going to run away because I can’t take it….i can’t stand another woman around him, I can’t stand another woman calling him pet names and grabbing his d”*k in front of me
(I cried more)
KUNLE
please don’t talk like that, you ain’t going to run away okay and I promise you I don’t go anywhere…. it’s just a new br@nch I opened in the state….. information reached me that the company isn’t doing too well I wanted to go see for myself…but you are more important than anything in this world.
CHENEMI

KUNLE
you are welcome…. so where is he now?
CHENEMI
his in the room with his girlfriend and sister
KUNLE
wait Oscar has a sister?
CHENEMI
no, it’s his girlfriend’s sister.
KUNLE
obviously this girl came for trouble.
CHENEMI
I don’t even have the strength to fight back.
KUNLE
can you please stop crying? I told you crying too much isn’t healthy for the baby….if anything happen to my prince I will not be happy with you.
CHENEMI
(I smiled)
I really miss you kunle….i miss your breakfast in bed this morning
KUNLE
awwn, I’m blus-hing…. should I send breakfast go you every morning?
CHENEMI
(I laughed)
that would be nice…. but I’m I seeing you today?
KUNLE
well I already cancelled my trip so I would be free….but chenemi I don’t think it’s a wise idea….
CHENEMI
how do you mean?
KUNLE
I think you should give Oscar chance to prove himself….. I don’t think coming there always would give him that chance.
CHENEMI
(I started to cry again)
okay no problem
KUNLE
(He chuckled)
is this lady blackmailing me right now?
CHENEMI
leave me alone
KUNLE
okay, okay, you win….get dress I will pick you up by 7pm for dinner.
CHENEMI
yeah!!!! I will be waiting and don’t be late.
KUNLE
(He chuckled)
you seem happy
CHENEMI
Of course I’m happy…. thanks kunle
KUNLE
stop thanking me sweetie…. let me call you later okay
CHENEMI
alright…. take care.
He hung up, I felt very happy, I was no longer side…. I was just eagerly waiting for 7pm that he would come and take me out.
All throu-ghthe afternoon I avoided Oscar and his guest…. around 6:30pm I took my bathe, dressed up and makeup my face, light makeup and waited for kunle.
OSCAR’S POV
I went to chenemi’s room so we could talk but to my greatest surprised she was already dressed and looking very beautiful.
OSCAR
chenemi you don’t have to leave because of Amanda please….i already told you I have nothing to do with her….
CHENEMI
And who said I’m leaving because of anyone? I’m going out with a friend.
OSCAR
A friend? do I know the person?
CHENEMI
yeah, I think you punch him the first time you met him.
OSCAR
kunle? you are going out with kunle again?
CHENEMI
(She stare at me)
if I didn’t know you too well I would think you are jealous.
OSCAR
Of course I’m jealous…. I’m jealous because I’m in love with you, I’m jealous because I want you only for myself, I’m jealous because I want to be the only man that makes you happy, I’m jealous because I want to be the only man who makes you happy and the only man you dress this s-×y for.
( I poured out)
She looked shocked staring at me like someone who had gone mad….she was about to say something but her phone started ringing so she went to answer it.
CHENEMI
you are already outside? I will join you soon.
She said and hung up, she went to the front of her mirror and checked herself for the last time before she picked her phone and put in her handbag.
CHENEMI
I really don’t have time for this right now…. beside you have guest, go keep them company.
she said and walked to the door, I felt like my heart was being ripped out seeing her walk out that door…. I ran outside to meet her.
OSCAR
okay can I join you guys? please
CHENEMI
you are not serious…. I’m not like you Oscar who would allow a woman to ki-ss you in our home, I’m not like you who has no shake and decency….. it will be awkward having you follow us.
Anita came out from her room and stood in between us
ANITA
my sister is craving for a mas-sage, she ask that you come into the room now.
I felt my heart boil in anger,I lost my cool and I pushed her away, lost her balance and almost fell down the staircase…. I quickly rushed forward and grabbed her hand.
OSCAR
the next time you try this ru-bbish I won’t be this nice to grab you.
I said and pulled her up to my body, chenemi shook her head and walked away….I rushed to the window to see chenemi and kunle hu-gging…. and that made me even more jealous
