EPISODE 35
NARRATOR’S POV
Oscar already gave up, he knew there was nothing he would do or say that would make chenemi come back to him.
It got to a point that tony and Mrs Stella started to feel very bad for him and pray he doesn’t lose his sanity because of chenemi.
Chenemi didn’t see her period and she didn’t even notice until she started to sleep around, even when her teacher was around she would suddenly sleep off.
Kunle being around girls all his life noticed the changes in her body….he told her to go see a doctor but she refused.
KUNLE
why do you hate hospitals so much?
CHENEMI
hospital is meant for sick people and I’m not sick.
KUNLE
I never said you are sick….. I’m just asking you to go for check up…. you are adding weight…..or you don’t see it?
CHENEMI
I feel so too…. but maybe it’s because I sleep too much this days.
KUNLE
And that’s the more reason why you should go to the hospital…..for all we know you might….
(he paused)
CHENEMI
I might he what?
KUNLE
dress up, we are going to the hospital now..
CHENEMI
(She laid on the couch)
no I don’t want.
kunle moved closer to her and picked her from the couch and took her upstairs, he dropped her in her bathroom.
KUNLE
common take your bathe, let’s go lazy girl….. I will be in my room.
He excused himself and chenemi started bathing immediately.
TWO HOURS LATER
kunle and chenemi were back from the hospital, from the look on their faces you could tell the result wasn’t as they planned it.
after a long silent kunle finally spoke
KUNLE
what are you going to do now?
CHENEMI
I don’t know kunle…. what should I do? I never planed for any of this to happen…how did I even get pregnant kunle?
KUNLE
you don’t nee-d to work yourself up over nothing…. is not as if this baby doesn’t have a father… all you just nee-d to do is let him back into your lives.
CHENEMI
I’m shocked you are saying this to me kunle….. you know what Oscar did to me
He pulled her closer and laid her head on his shoulder… he didn’t want her to over stress herself and have a miscarriage
KUNLE
I know Oscar treated you badly, and believe me if I tell you that I’m ready to even father this child if you would let me… but the father is still alive and ready to take you back….. Oscar was very wrong to have treated you that way…. but I think it’s high time you let it go…. for the sake of this prince in your wo-mb.
CHENEMI
You make it sound very easy kunle
KUNLE
it’s not easy I know but you just have to over look his wrong…..
CHENEMI
OKay I have heard you….. I will try and forgive him.
KUNLE
that’s my girl….
He said and ki-ssed her forehead.
KUNLE POV
have you met chenemi? I’m sure non of you have met this girl called chenemi….. she’s a very nice lady, beautiful, caring and very funny… no dull moment with chenemi…. you can’t have a woman like chenemi and not want to fall in love with her…. even before chenemi started staying at my place I had already started developing feelings for her….. i took her home one of the weekend my parents were around and they both fell in love with her immediately too not minding her background…. yes, that’s the kind of her chenemi is… wherever she goes people fall in love with her.
just her few few weeks staying in my house I was already feeling like a married man…. I close early and stay at home during weekends with her…. we almost had a perfect life before Oscar and his mother came begging.
the mother came first, she didn’t come to beg for her son instead she came to apologise to chenemi for not bringing up her child well….. then Oscar came too.
after seeing the young man, all the resentment I had for him died…. the young man was a shadow of himself.
He was ready to die in front of my gate because of chenemi and she wouldn’t even see him.
I tried to talk her into forgiving him but she got really pisssd so I stopped talking about oscar
I was coming back from an event one day and curiosity took the better side of me so I turned my car over and went to see oscar.
Dude was really a shadow of himself, everywhere was messed up…. he had even lost his voice… he stare at me blankly not saying a word…. it was his gate man that told me his boss has been like that for days…. I really felt pity for the dude but what can I do? chenemi already feels maybe I’m tired of housing her that’s why I’m sending her back to oscar.
How God would have it we just found out she’s pregnant…a perfect news for Oscar and the mother…. I know sending her back to Oscar makes it look like I don’t love her…. but I’m doing this for my conscience…. if chenemi continue to live with me she might come to love me too….. but what of Oscar? the dude f*¢ked yo yes but he has learnt his lessons….. we all deserve a second chance and I think he deserves his too..
I know it’s not going to be easy sending chenemi off, I’m going to miss her and my life would be empty without her…. but my conscience would he free…. free that I did the right thing…. if I were Oscar I would beg for a second chance too…. so yes even though it hurt like hell…i will send her back to where she truly belong…. that’s the greatest gift of love I could give her and the innocent baby.
OJOCHENEMI POV
kunle persuaded me to go back to Oscar’s houss…. not like I had forgiven him but because of my unborn child I had to go back to him….. it would really break my father’s heart if I returned home with an unwanted pregnancy and without the child’s father.
Later that evening I packed all my things and kunle drove me to Oscar’s place.
He drove into the compound but refuse to follow me inside.
CHENEMI
I’m going to miss you kunle
KUNLE
I’m going to miss you too…..thank you for coming into my life and changing it.
CHENEMI
(Her tears dropped)
I wish things didn’t have to happen like this…. you are a very nice and caring man…. I pray you find someone who is worth your love.
his eyes were also filled with tears, he was struggling to remain strong…. common I’m not a fool to not have noticed that kunle had feelings for me… and trust me if I had stayed a whole year with him I would have loved him too.
But as difficult as it is for me to admit I love Oscar and I can’t bring myself to loving another man….. at least not yet…..
kunle and I shared an epic moment together, moment that can never be forgotten.
KUNLE
you should go inside before you catch a cold.
CHENEMI
get home safe…… I promise to always come visiting.
I said using my hand to wipe the tears that has fallen down his cheeks.
He hu-gged me ti-ghtly before letting me go…. I pulled from the hu-g after a long time and started to go inside…. I got to the door and turn to look at him for the last time…. my heart broke when I saw him crying…. he finally allowed his emotions out.

OJOCHENEMI POV CONTINUES
I ran back to hu-g kunle, he deserved it…. it broke my heart to see him weep like a child because of me….. but at the end of the day is the sacrifice he has to make for me and my baby.
We stayed at the car for a very long time before he left….. I went inside to meet another shock waiting for me.
the whole house was looking so unkept and dirty…. Oscar’s clothes were littered all over the living room…. the empty bottles of alcohol wasn’t absented.
He was lying down on the couch, I slowly pulled my bag upstairs in mg bedroom and went to the shower to take my bathe….. I immediately slept off after I finished.
OSCAR POV
I woke up and there was this heavy bang on my head like every other morning.
the only way I could sleep peacefully was If I drank too much of alcohol and if was working out perfectly for me.
I got up and sat on the floor for a while before I picked my alcohol to continue fr where I stopped.
I heard a heavy sound in the kitchen but I ignored it…. I opened the alcohol and sip from it….. another sound came again, this time it was more louder than the first one so I decided to go check.
not like I care if thieves broke into the house or something…. as I was heading to the kitchen I bumped into someone…. we both fell down to the floor, she lying on top of me.
without seeing her face my heart skipped a bit…. I would recognize that smell anywhere… could it be a dream?
I pulled her off my body so I could see her face very well…. she immediately got up too and dusty her body.
CHENEMI
you should watch here you are going.
She said and went into the living room… I lost my voice due to cry and too much alcohol… seeing chenemi in my house made it worse…. I felt like I had finally gone dumb and could not speak again.
I ran to the living room to be sure I wasn’t drunk…. i held her and she pushed m away.
CHENEMI
don’t touch me work those dirty hands of yours.
I couldn’t help big smile and cry at the same time, indeed I wasn’t drunk and if isn’t a drwam… chenemi was standing right in front of me.
Suddenly I found my voice and I went on my knee immediately before she would change her mind.
OSCAR
please chenemi I know I have offended you…. please forgive me.
CHENEMI
I don’t have time for that now, beside I can’t stay in a dirty environment like this and listen to your apology… I’m leaving, when you clean the house you can call….
before she finished her statement I ran to the kitchen and took mopping stick, broom and bucket.
I came back and started to clean and arrange the living room…..she got up and gave me space to clean, immediately I finished she return to that sp-ot and sat down.
my head ache from the hangover, couple with the fact I haven’t eaten anything for days I felt dizzy and my eyes were blurry.
As I was busy arranging the house she went into the kitchen to cook us breakfast.
OJOCHENEMI POV
I miss kunle so much, kunle would always wake me up with a sweet aroma of sandwich and hot cu-p of milk every morning.
waking up today without that aroma I felt very sad and angry…. I came downstairs and met Mr oscar still sleeping I ignored him and went to the kitchen to check if there was anything thing In the house I could cook because I was very hungry.
I saw some food stuffs but those wasn’t what my stomach was craving for…. so I decided to go to the living room to wake Oscar up but fortunately we bumped into each other.
I made him to clean up his own mess…. I was very familiar with what alcohol could do to a man…. entering the house last night I saw the bottle of alcohol he had taken but I didn’t see a single plate of food he ate… I wonder why he hasn’t even die by now.
I felt pity on him and went to prepare breakfast….I made noodles, toast bread, egg sauce and hot creamy tea for the both of us….. I served the breakfast on the dinning table.
OJOCHENEMI
breakfast is ready but I’m sure you ain’t going to eat my food…..
OSCAR
I will eat, of course I will love to eat your food.
OJOCHENMI
oh yeah? well you can sit down then.
We ate in silent, his eyes never left my body, few time I took a glance at him I noticed he had lost a lot of weight and he was looking so unkept and dirty.
finally breakfast was over, I carried my phone and went to the living room go sit down, I wanted to clear the dishes but he insisted he would do it so I let him be.
Soon he joined me after he had finished washing the plate…. he slowly wanted to sit beside me but I got up.
CHENEMI
I will be in my room…. there nothing in this house…. so please go to the sto-re and get some food stuffs…..
I said and started to go upstairs, he called my name but I didn’t turn back…. suddenly I turned to look at him.
CHENEMI
And please take a bathe, you smell.
I said and entered my room….. I called kunle and we spoke for a very long time…. my airtime finished and he immediately recharge me…. before I could call him to thank him for the airtime he called back and we continued our conversation.
I didn’t know I had slept off while talking to kunle… I took my phone and saw his text message
“I guess my prince is troubling you so much that you couldn’t sleep well all throu-ghthe night…. how is he? is he kicking”?
I read the text and smiled, what made him so sure I’m pregnant with a boy? beside isn’t it too early for the baby to start kicking?
I was about to call him back when I heard a knock on my door….
CHENEMI
yes, come in.
OSCAR
(He entered)
Hi
CHENEMI
Hi to you too….. what do you want?
OSCAR
I’m back from the sto-re, I came earlier but found out you were sleeping and didn’t want to wake you up.
CHENEMI
good decision…..I can see you too my advice and took a bathe.
OSCAR
chenemi….
CHENEMI
I will cook us lunch
I said and came down from my bed, he grabbed my arm but I looked at him sternly and he let go of my hand.
I went downstairs and was very shocked with what I saw….. Oscar brou-ght the whole sto-re to our house…. the house was filled with different kind of fruits, meats, food and drinks.
He came downstair to join me
OSCAR
I’m sorry I didn’t arrange them…I was kind of tired when I came back…i will do it now.
I went to the living room and waited for him to arrange all the items he got before I went to the kitchen to prepare lunch.
