CHAPTER 57
Umbrie took the next available flight back to Ice Valley the next day, very early. She got there after a few hours and met Kieran waiting to pick her up. She ran towards him and jumped on him, they caught the attention of people around the airport.
“Baby, I missed you so much. I almost took a flight over because I thought you were taking too long.” Kieran said embr@cing her ti-ght.
She smiled, “You can’t be serious. How are we going to see each other then? I missed you too but you know why I came early.”
He pouted, “You’re not going to spend time with me? What about me? I also nee-d to be cared for.”
She scoffed, “Don’t be silly Kieran. You know how much she means to me. You two are very important, but right now she nee-ds me. Let me see her first, then we will have time for us later.”
He sighed, un-derstanding her and knowing he’s just being too selfish. Umbrie nee-ds to see her best friend, he would probably do the same if it happened to his friend. Not that he has much friends though.
“I wish I was your friend. Then I’ll get to see you very close to me today.” He wished.
“Take me to the hospital Kieran, I’m so eager to see her.” She pec-ked his li-ps, he smiled and pulled her away.
He took her to the hospital, he decided to say hello to Daphne before leaving for the office. They were directed to her ward where they met Jared sitting beside her. Luckily for them, she was awake and smiling at Jared.
“Oh my goodness! Daphne! What happened?!” Umbrie exclaimed and rushed to her.
“Hi Umbrie, I am good actually. It’s weird that I feel no pain anymore though the scratches are still there.” Daphne said happily.
“You mean you don’t feel any pain?” Daphne nodded, “What exactly happened? Who did this to you?”
“Well… She has been arrested today. It’s Tiana, her ex girlfriend. Thankfully, I don’t feel pain anymore. It was quite unbearable before. She beat me with her friends, I didn’t get a chance to defend myself.” Daphne explained.
“What? That idiot?! I always knew she was evil behind that innocent look she always carried around. I will definitely not let her go easily.” Umbrie balled her fists angrily.
Umbrie looked at Jared who gave her a knowing look. Then she realized she hasn’t said hi to her brother and he is giving Kieran hateful looks.
“Hi… Jared. Quit looking at my boyfriend like that please.” She complained.
“Is that an order?” Jared asked giving her a heated look.
“Yes it is. Stop looking at him like you’re going to hit him. At least I didn’t complain when you were following that evil witch around. Now look what she did to my best friend. I am gonna make her pay.” She fired back at him.
Kieran cleared his throat and tou-ched her shoulder to make her stop, “Your brother still thinks I’m a je-rk. It’s fine, let him be. You don’t have to disrespect your brother for me.”
Umbrie turned to him angry, “What? You’re taking sides with my brother now that I am just trying to defend you? Are you for real?”
“I am not… Not Umbrie, please not now.” Kieran begged having no strength to argue with her.
He turned to Daphne with a smile, “Hello… I brou-ght her from the airport and decided to check on you too. Glad to know you are doing well now.”
Daphne smiled at him, “Thank you, it’s so kind of you to check on me…” She suddenly realized, “Wait… Umbrie why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to spend a week in Dubai for the competition? What happened? Is it a week already?”
“Yeah, I came as soon as I heard about your condition. The rest are back there, I came earlier than them. We already finished the competition, we took second place. I thought my brother would tell you.” Umbrie replied disappointed in her brother who is showing no emotions on his face.
Daphne turned to Jared and saw how cold he looks. She hasn’t really seen this side of him since they started going out. She did not want to cause any more arguements, so she just let it go.
“It’s fine. He probably doesn’t want to stress me with information. Congratulations bestie! I knew you could do it.”
While they kept talking, Kieran and Jared stared at each other. In the past, Kieran could be scared of him but now he isn’t. Even if Jared doesn’t like Kieran now, he is willing to make Jared change his mind one day. After a while of intense staring, he decided to leave the room for Jared.
“I think I have to leave now. Do you want me to come pick you up later baby?” Kieran announced, asking Umbrie.
“No… Come pick me up tomorrow. I will stay with her till tomorrow…”
“You don’t have to. You must be very tired and you should take a rest.” Daphne declined cutting her off.
Umbrie would not have it, “Don’t tell me what to do. I am staying with you today and that’s final.”
Kieran sighed, “See you tomorrow then.” He hu-gged Umbrie and walked out without looking back.
Umbrie felt bad, yet she doesn’t want to leave her friend alone at this time. Daphne would do the same for her. She made sure Kieran was gone before talking.
She turned to Jared, “Thanks for se-nding him away with your evil eyes. I’m going to report you soon, I swear.”
“You are free to. Am I stopping you?” He replied savagely.
“Come on, you both are not having the siblings fight at the hospital. Let’s not wake other patients up. That’s okay.” Daphne pleaded to stop them.
“I will be right back. You can go home after that Jared. I will stay with her, for now I have to check on someone.” Umbrie announced.
“Where are you going?” Jared asked her.
Umbrie scoffed, “None of your business. Excuse me bestie, I’ll be back.”
She walked out of the room fli-pping her hair back to annoy her brother. Then she started walking fast when she got outside. She took a cab going straight to the police station, she clenched her fists like she wanted to kill someone when she gets down.
Daphne laughed as soon as Umbrie was gone. Jared was glad to see her laughing again, it’s the work of Umbrie though. He doesn’t know how to make a joke much, he has seen her smile but not laugh this much since yesterday.
“You and your sister are funny without knowing it. She purposely does things to annoy you and you don’t fail to give her the reaction she wants.” Daphne said laughing.
He scratched his head, “I didn’t know we looked funny. I am glad to see you laughing, this is how I want you to be always. You’re more beautiful smiling.”
She blus-hed, “Thank you…” She suddenly realized again, “Where is Umbrie going?”
“I don’t know… Let her be. She will be back like she said.” Jared replied unconcerned.
He knows Umbrie is going to meet Tiana at the police station. He already gave her a signal saying she should not touch Tiana. He doesn’t want Daphne to worry about anything involving Tiana again, so he decided to conceal it from her.
“Okay. Can you please get me some water?”

MEANWHILE
Tiana and her friends are behind bars for what they did to Daphne. They pleaded with the police but no one listened. They were hanging out in their street when the police got them together. They already got Tiana’s information from Jared who secretly gave them.
He did this because he thought Daphne deserves justice. Besides, they won’t go to jail for life but they’ll get punished for being br@tty. They have refused to call for help since they got arrested, all scared of what their parents would do to them.
They were sitting in the cell, already shaking and thinking ha-rd on what they are supposed to do.
“What are we going to do now? They’ll find our parents even if we don’t call them anyways.” Alice asked as she is the most worried one.
Her parents are super strict. They are actually government workers who have strict standards. Now things would change for her. She won’t have her freedom again.
“I don’t know. I am so confused. I have no idea who I can call without alarming parents.” Emma replied.
Tiana is the one who stayed silent. She feels guilty for getting the both of them into this mess. But they are also pa-rtly to blame for all of this.
“Who is Tiana?” An officer suddenly asked.
Tiana rushed to the entrance, “That’s me…”
“Someone is here to see you. She said she is a friend who saw what happened to you.” The officer replied.
Tiana was confused as to who that was, so are her friends. She went out of the cell with the officer only to be met with a surprise.
Umbrie went to the police station pretending to be Tiana’s friend just to see her. She was convincing enough that the police let her see her. Luckily, no one has come for Tiana and her friends yet. The people who reported them are not there either.
Tiana thought someone came to help them. She was happy when she got out. Only to find Umbrie waiting for her.
“You? What are you…”
Umbrie slapped her, making sure no one saw her. She did it so fast, the officer wasn’t really looking at them.
“You are asking me? Isn’t it obvious? You stupid bitc-h! You dare to touch my best friend? You seriously wanna die don’t you?” She growled lowly.
Tiana couldn’t say anything, she knows what kind of person Umbrie is. Umbrie could kill her in a second if she says anything.
“I can’t believe my brother would even get involved with a girl like you. We surely didn’t see your heartless side. What if Daphne died? Didn’t you ever think of that? You make girls look like jealous freaks. How could you stoop so low?” Umbrie scoffed, “I am going to let you go now because of my brother. I promise I will come back for you if you don’t apologize properly for my friend and pay for your evil deeds.”
“Do you have any idea what she had to go throu-ghas a child up till now? You think she hasn’t suffered enough trauma and you just had to awaken it with your selfishness!”
“I… I am sorry…” Tiana said lowly.
“Don’t you dare say anything to me. You will apologize to my friend and not me. I don’t ever want to see your face around my brother again.” Umbrie threatened giving her one last disdainful look before leaving.
Tiana was taken back to the cell. She cried when she got back ignoring her friend’s questions. She finally realized that she messed with the wrong person. She did not think this will get her into trouble. Especially when it involves Umbrie. She always knew Umbrie doesn’t like her.
Umbrie took a cab back to the hospital satisfied that her mission has been carried out. Now Tiana would never show her face to Jared again, that should guarantee her friend’s safety.
