🌩️ Beryl’s Pov 🌩️
“Berry…. there’s a new boy in school”Margaret yelled pu-lling my hand
“Leave me alone mag”
“Why?”let’s go see the new boy
“No I am not interested”I Said slouching further into my chair
Suddenly we heard loud screams and we jo-lted
We quic-kly ran to the school dorm where the noise was coming from and I saw students gathered
“Is that the new boy?”I asked gesturing towards a guy that was twisting Dylan’s hand and Margaret nodded
I am not surprised that the guy is alre-ady having to issues with Dylan,Dylan is a bully but what I don’t know is what Dylan did to the new boy that got him into that situation.
“Hey girl what happened?”I asked one of our clas-s mates
“Dylan was trying to bully the new student and he got himself into trouble”
“Oh”
I watched the guy walk away after pushing Dylan
I quic-kly followed him to do the nee-dful
“Um hi”I said when I caught up with him but then he glared at me and Walked away
“What an attitude”I heard Margaret say behind me and I shook my head
I really hate being the head girl
I hate my life.
☄️ Chapter One☄️
🌩️ Beryl’s Pov 🌩️
After school I changed my cloth and I wore my casual wear
I quic-kly took a thorou-gh bath and ran to the orphanage where I volunteered to work for an hour everyday except on Sundays
I knew how it felt to be an orphan, I knew how it felt to live life without one’s parents or siblings because I am an orphan
I don’t have any memory about my parents all they told me was that an old woman with the name Clara brou-ght me to the orphanage and I’ve been trying to find the woman since I left the orphanage last two years but it has been all to no avail.
I started living alone at the age of sixteen after leaving the orphanage on own ,I work at a mini mart to earn my pay,I feel volunteering to help in the orphanage is the only way I can help the orphans,I wish I can do more but then this is what I can do for the main time.
“Beryl you are here!”Maria the orphanage supervisor called and I flashed her a smile
“Maria how are you doing today?”
“I am fine thank you,how was your day at school”
“Fine thank you”
“Um Beryl,I want to speak with you”
“Why?,is anything wrong?”I asked sitting beside her
“We got request from a couple that just arrived into Kansas City last week,they want to adopt a child,they are rich and they have a son but they want a daughter”
“Really?…so who do they want ?… Susan?,Cherry?, Tonia?” I asked happy that one of the girls in the orphanage would finally get a home
“Beryl….they want a young lady…they want someone around your age and you are the only one around your age”
“What?…No!… I am fine on my own…they should pick one of the girls” I said moving away from her
“You know you are still un-der this orphanage’s supervision until you are eighteen and you won’t be turning eighteen until next two months so I thought should ask you,I can’t f0rç£ you to agree but think about it,it would do you a lot of good”she said standing up and leaving me to my thoughts
She was actually right, it would do me alot of good,but I am not sure I want to get adopted
I went about the day’s work distracted, I would love to get adopted and have access to what other teenagers have but I am scared
What if those people doesn’t want me?
The next day I went to school early like I always did because I always did
I’ve thought and also prayed about what Maria told me and I’ve decided I’d give her my answer today
If I get adopted by the rich couple I won’t be disappointing Maria, I would be able to as-sist the orphanage and I would have more opportunity to do more for my society using their influence.
Those thought stuck with me boosting my confidence
We had our morning clas-ses and before I knew it,we had our lunch break
I went to the cafeteria with Margaret,we got our lunch and we were about going to our special sp©t when we sighted Alexa
I know Alexa does not like me because I won the post of the head girl instead of her
I think what actually infuriate her is the fact that I was in the prestigious school on scholarsh!p
I looked away from her and I was about pas-sing her side when she stuck her leg out for me and I tr!pp£ddumping my lunch on the person in front of me
Luckily,I didn’t fall,I was holding the person sitting in my front
Everyone was murmuring,I quic-kly stood properly and the person I was holding stood to face me
Behold,it was the new student
“Oh…I am sincerely sorry”I apologized but he glared at me
“You better don’t bug me…..you crazy attention seeker”he said,he was not yelling but everyone in the cafeteria started murmuring
He walked out on me and I also angrily left the cafeteria embarrased, to clean the mess p@rt of my lunch made on me
Margaret was there to pacify me
She really knew me
When I was eventually able to raise my head up I broke the news to her
“Maggie….I am getting adopted”
“What?”…Are you serious?”
“Yes…. Maggie….to a rich family”
“Oh…Berry I am happy for you”she hvgging me, before long we were both crying on each other’s shoulder
The rest of the day went with only a few talking about what happened in the cafeteria
When the school closed, I had my Bath and I went to the orphanage
When I got there I met a couple there and I was sure it was the couple that would be adopting me
“Hello darling”the man greeted and I flashed him a smile
“Good evening sir… hello Maria”
“How are you doing darling?”
“Fine… you?”
“I am fine thank you…. I’d like you to meet Mr and Mrs Martin,Mr Martin,Mrs Martin…this is Beryl”
“Nice meeting you”I said casting my gaze to the floor
“Nice meeting you too”they chorused grinning
“So?”Maria asked giving me a questioning look and I gestured towards her file libr@ry
“Excuse me for a few minutes plea-se”she said and she followed me to the file libr@ry
“So?”
“Ok”
“Oh thank you honey,God bless you”she said hvgging me
“I know for sure that this people would love you…they wanted to adopt you so bad that they got the court order re-ady…all we nee-d to do is sign and they can take you home”
“Today?”
“Yes why?”
“They won’t give me a chance to say goodbye?”
“Oh you won’t have to say goodbye, I told them about you volunteering to help the orphanage and they are fine with it”
“I guess that works”
“I thank God for you baby”
“I do too”she hvgged me again and we went out
She went back to her sit while I stood behind
“Well… Mr and Mrs Martin,you have yourself a daughter”she said and Mrs Martin stood up and c@m£ to hvg me
Weird but I felt comfortable in her arms
We did the necessary and we got busy with trying to do the nee-dful,they took me to the mini mart so that I could quit my Job, I went to end my agreement with my landlord too
By the time we got to my new home I was exhausted
They took inside and they told me to meet my new brother
Meeting my new brother was not the problem the problem was my new brother was THE SCHOOL NEW RUDE BOY!
I was shocked to the extent that I almost fainted.
☄️ Chapter Two☄️
🎵Tim’s Pov 🎵
I knew my parents were coming back home with my new sister and I was happy about it,infact,I made dinner alre-ady hoping that would help save us more time to talk and gist, I’ve been wanting a sister since forever.
I was not expecting them to bring in that crazy attention seeker,as if ruining my school uniform was not enough,she officially c@m£ to ruin my life.
“Beryl.. your brother Timothy Christ©pher Martin”
“Son..meet your sister,Beryl Martin,we’d pick a middle name for her later ,I hope you two get along well.. “my mum said with this look on her
It made me cringe
“Honey….they are going to get along well,they are even clas-s mates and our daughter is the head girl… you’d see this two are gonna make us proud”My dad said hvgging mum close to him
I looked at my new ‘sister’ and the innocent look she had on got me mad
This lady knows how to pretend and it was annoying
“Well welcome to our home ‘sister’.. I hope we get along well”I said ma-king sure she got my message throu-gh my look but she didn’t,she only gave me a smile.
“So guys, how about dinner?”I asked
They freshened up and we had dinner
I was told to take Beryl to her room so I did
I was going to leave but she st©pped me
“Um….Tim…. I am sorry about today, I messed up your uniform”she apologized but I ignored her apology
“Don’t let anyone know we are now siblings”I said leaving for my room
I took a long shower and went to be-d but I couldn’t sleep
I remembered what Alexa told me yesterday
I had just gotten to Royal Hills high school and I sli-pped into the clas-s quietly to avoid being noticed,I alre-ady begged our clas-s teacher not to introduce me yet
A clas-s was going on but I managed to get in without being noticed and I took a seat behind the clas-s
A Lady was pres£nting her project at that time and I was surprised and captivated by the way she did it,she spoke so fluently that mouth dropped open
I had the intention of going to see her, maybe I can be friends with her but that thought totally disappeared when a young lady c@m£ to meet me during break
I didn’t want to talk to her but she said something that interested me
“I could see you were looking at Beryl while she was pres£nting”she’d stated and I shrugged
“Everyb©dy was”
“Yes of course….she looks very innocent and she speaks three languages fluently…a beautiful lady on the outside a Wicked soul on the inside”
“What do you mean?”I asked thinking she wanted to defame Beryl but she gave this very soft smile and shook her head
“I don’t mean any harm.. thing is that is just how Beryl is…she acts innocent on th outside but she is a snake….or what do you suggest we call a young lady that sle-pt with her teacher to get the post of the head girl… or how do you suggest we describe a lady that follows every guy and s£dûç£them until they suc¢v-mb to her de-sire…you might not believe me and I don’t mind”she said
“Vic,can you spare me some minute?”she’d ask one of the students and the lady c@m£ to us
“Hi how may I help you?”
“Um Beryl?”
“Hey don’t ever mention that b©yfri£ndsnatcher’s name around me again”the lady said and stormed out angrily
At that point in time I started having second thoughts about Beryl, She was not who she actually looks like on the outside
I doubts about her were confirmed when she c@m£ to meet me after I got into an argument with a bully
She probably likes bad guys
My parents have brou-ght for themself trouble and they’d have to take care of it themself.

I settled into my room alright
My new mum promised to take me shopping tomorrow after telling me to give out my former wears so I had nothing else to wear to be-d than the pyjamas in my wardrobe.
I took my bath and then la-id on my be-d
I turned to my side and my eyes caught a Bible beside my be-d
I took it and I sat up opening it to the book of proverbs
I re-ad few chapters and I prayed for my new family
Most especially my new brother,I don’t what I did to him that was ma-king him act like that,but I prayed that God would t©uçh his heart
I finally got my own family and I am not planning on loosing them.

🌩️ Beryl’s Pov 🌩️
I woke up quite early the next day, probably because it is my First time in the house
I said my prayer and I took my bath,I carried my bag pack and pu-ll-ed out my uniform and the change of cloth my new mum allowed me to take
I hung my uniform and I wore the simple blouse and trou-sers since it was still early in the morning
I went downstairs and started with the house chores,My new mum c@m£ downstairs few minutes later
“Good morning ma”
“Good morning Beryl,how are you doing?”
“Fine thank you ma”
“Did you settled in well?”
“Yes ma”
“Are you going to call me mummy?”she asked and I casted my eyes to the floor
“If you want me to”
“I want you to do that”she said coming close to me…she pu-ll-ed me into a hvg and I melted in her warm and comfortable embr@ce
“Thank you mummy”I said when she finally re-leased me and she flashed me a smile
“So, I can see you’ve done the house chores,how about we make breakfast”
“Sure”
“Toast should do…Jelly or bu-tter?”
“How about jelly and bu-tter”I replied getting more comfortable
“I like your style”
We started preparing breakfast and she asked me about myself and all
We chatted well,I mean the chances of getting along with someone far older then you within a short period of time is very little
When we were half way done with ma-king breakfast,mum called for dad and Tim
By the time we finished setting the table they were alre-ady downstairs.we ate breakfast with very little said
After breakfast, I went back upstairs to change into my school uniform,I went back downstairs with my backpack
“Tim… you drive to school today with your sister,the housekeeper and the chaffeur won’t be resuming till next week”
“Okay mum”
We said our goodbyes and Tim drove us to school, during the drive he didn’t say anything,he only kept his eyes on the road and when we almost got to school he turned to a corner and st©pped
“Get out”he said shocking me
“What?”
“I Said get out or should I help you?”
“But…”
“Out!”he yelled and I scrambled out
Tears filled my eyes but I blinked them back,I am hoping I’ve not made a big mistake by agreeing to sign the adoption papers
An image of my new mum and dad c@m£ to my mind and I shook my head
I know I didn’t make mistake.
I walked the rest of the way excited to meet Margaret and tell her about my new parents.
When I got to school, there was a lot to do,I had to go to the principal’s Office and fill in a paperwork for change of name,then I had to meet my teachers so that they can change my name in their records, then I had to go for Prefect’s meeting, thank God for a good friend, Margaret helped me with everything I had to do. Even though she helped me I was still exhausted by lunchtime.
We went to the cafeteria and got our lunch, we’ve ba-rely started eating when a student c@m£ to tell me that Science teacher wanted me to bring the pump he left in the janitor’s closet.
I was tired but I still dragged myself to the janitor’s closet. I was not expecting what happened next at all,the moment I entered someone slammed the door shut and pushed me against it
“Hey baby”it was Dylan
“Are you crazy?…What are you trying to do?”I asked trying to push him off but the bully was too strong
“Come on babe,I am going to make you feel good”he Said fumbling with my shi-t’s bu-tton
I pushed him and tried to call for help but he closed my mouth with his hand
He started loos£ning his belt that gave me the chance to kick his groin,he re-leased me and I ran outside while he nursed himself.
I was about to run towards the rest room but I bu-mped into someone
It was Tim
He looked at me with disapproval and shook his head
“You could have waited and gotten a h0tel room”he said throwing a piece of paper at me
h0t tears rolled down my eyes because I knew he indirectly called me a who-re.
I picked the paper and walked towards the rest room bu-ttoning my shi-t.

I was looking for Beryl to tell her something but I couldn’t find her
I asked for from people but I couldn’t find her
I went to the clas-s and wrote what I wanted to tell her inside a paper because I don’t actually want anyone to see me talking to her
I saw Alexa as I was going out of the clas-s and I quic-kly walked to her
“Hi…Have you seen Beryl?”I asked and she looked at me with this kind of sober eyes
“plea-se let me know if you see her”I said and I was leave when she called me back
“I don’t like to gossip but you should try the janitor’s closet..that’s her favourite sp©t”she said and walked away
I didn’t un-derstand what she meant by favourite sp©t but I went anyways
I was shocked when I saw Beryl rush out,hair disturbe-d…her first two bu-ttons were unbottoned
I shook my head in disapproval and annoyance
“You could have waited and gotten a h0tel room”I said angrily throwing the paper that held my message at her

This is just th beginning
That wretched girl is going to hate herself by the time I am done with her
In this game I am the master planner
I heard from one of my friends that the new student was looking for Beryl
I don’t want them to get any closer so when I saw him go inside the clas-sroom I went to meet Dylan who is re-ady to do anything because I know his secret
He agreed to help me and I s£nt a student to go and make sure Beryl goes to the janitor’s closet
When I was sure she was there I went to our clas-s room and paraded in front of it till Tim saw me
I knew he was going to come and when he did I gave him the best act of my life
I am certainly the master planner.
