MY PERFECT MARRIAGE
EPISODE 11

Kas-sy and Ted were doing well and slowly Kas-sy was starting to go to church. She did not f0rç£ Ted to come along but he started following her on few occasions.
****PATIENCE AND PHIli-p****
Phil!pwas confused how was he going to come out of this mess that he had brou-ght upon himself, there’s no way Patience would un-derstand. He loved her so much and didn’t want to hurt her but he was alre-ady in love with his unborn babies.
That day when Phil!pgot home, Patience had prepared him a very nice meal and she was looking beautiful. Home is where he wanted to be now but he had messed up. He failed to eat the food set before him, a p@rt of him wanted to speak out but he couldn’t.
“honey you’ve been staring at this food for a while now, are you not going to eat?.. she asked him.
“I will sweetie..”.. he responded as he poured some water into a glas-s.
“My love anything the matter? you can talk to me.. Patience said as she drew nearer to him and ru-bbe-d his shoulder.
“It’s ok, I’m ok, just work and stress.. I’m fine sweetheart.. I love you.. he said as he moved closer and gave her a k!sson her forehead.
“I love you too honey.. she responded.
“I want to eat with you honey, I want us to eat together..”.. he said as he held her hand.
“I’m full but I will eat with you, lets eat honey”.. she said.
As patience was clearing the dishes after lunch Phil!pdecided to draft a letter to the bank , the letter was to allow him get a loan.
The following day Phil!pwent to the bank and the same day the loan was approved.
Patience’s birthday was the following week and Phil!pprepared a surprise p@rty for her at Protea. It was so beautiful that everyone kept talking about it and to t©p it all the Mercedes he got her made the p@rty even stand out more. They were closer and more connected than ever but the secret was still haunting Phili-p.
*****THREE WEEKS LATER*****
The C section was successful ma-king Phil!pand Tisa parents to two bouncy baby boys, the twins resembled Phil!pwithout a doubt and they were quite identical. The operation on the fibroids was also successful, Tisa was in hospital recovering and Phil!pvisited often to make sure she was alright. Phil-ips pent a lot of money on hospital bills as well creating a comfortable environment for Tisa to go back to after fully recovering.
Phil!pand Patience had been building flats that they intended to put on rent as well as a beautiful 3 be-droom ap@rtment in salama park which Phil!phad started working on before his wedding. Patience was aware of this house but Phil!phad earlier mentioned that he was planning on selling it once it was finished in order to allow them to quic-kly build their dream house.
However, what Patience did not know was that Phil!phad used the flats as collateral for the loan he got and also changed the titles of his house into Tisa’s name.
p@rt of the loan money was used to finish off the wiring in the house for electricity as well as designing one room as a nursery for the twins.
Tisa was discharged after staying in hospital for six weeks, Phil!phad alre-ady made the home comfortable for Tisa and the babies by furnishing it up to standard.
*****SYDNEY AND PETRINA*****
The pl@yfinally kicked off and as they waited for money to start coming in Petrina decided to sell her car and then used p@rt of the money to rent a small shop where she started selling secondhand clothes that she bought in bulk. They saved the rest of the money for future use. The business was doing very well and soon she opened another outlet in town and hired her cousin to work there. Sydney was in charge of the shop in town and he would often be there when he was not busy at the theatre club.
The world had started to talk and people pointed f!ngersat them, others calling Petrina a fool for marrying a man without a vision.
Before, Petrina would question God why she ended up in such an unfortunate circu-mtance despite waiting so long to get married but as time went on she thanked God every day because despite all the struggles, Sydney was far much better than any man she had ever known
*****NONDE AND CLIVE*****
Since the last encounter she had with her cousin, Nonde had nothing to say but she just got up and left for home. Weeks went by and still Clive did not seem to change but he only got worse and much worse.
“There is no way I’m going to give up on my marriage so easily..” She thought to herself.
Nonde was re-ady to fight and do whatever it took to save the marriage, de-ep inside she wondered why Bwalya had run away. All her thoughts led to think Bwalya is the one behind her problems.
She finally made up her mind that she was going to see a different famous witch doctor she heard about in Lusaka west, after parking her vehicle at a nearby guest house she took the walk into the de-ep bushes.
When she had walked 15 minutes from the thick bushes she found a poster that said she had to take off her shoes. Nonde quic-kly re-moved her shoes and walked for another 15 minutes until she finally found a big tree. When she looked closely she saw a big black curtain hanging from the tree and other strange looking creatures were hanging from the tree.
She walked towards it and a voice behind her told her to sit down and not look behind. The voice then asked her to put an offering in the big calabash that was before her.
She placed the money in the calabash and sat waiting for a few minutes then suddenly the calabash before her disappeared.
She trembled but the voice told her not to tremble.
There was water some yellow looking substance in a container and the voice asked her to drink that substance. The moment she drun!kit the black cloth suddenly started showing images like a projector.
She saw her husband drive to a house in Chalala and drove in, the house was beautiful and well furnished, then Bwalya opened the door for him they went to the be-droom to see the babies. It was clear that Clive was seeing Bwalya. Nonde couldn’t believe her eyes and then suddenly the cloth bec@m£ black again.
The voice behind her then began to speak
“I am sure that is what you wanted to know, now if you want husband back de-ep your hands in the calabash”
Nonde couldn’t see a calabash and was just about to turn as she looked for the calabash when the voice st©pped her. Suddenly the calabash appeared before her and she trembled terribly.
“de-ep your hands in there and get the plastic that you will find”
Nonde stretched her hands and got the plastic.
“now go and do not look behind follow the path ahead of you “ the voice said.
“but I c@m£ that way..” nonde interrupted.
“Just do as I say woman” the voice interrupted.
Nonde quic-kly got up and was re-ady to walk away when the voice st©pped her.
“Now remember whatever you do, do not approach the woman. You cannot go to her, do not visit her or even approach her. If you see her say nothing to her. Make no mention to your husband about his affair pretend you know nothing… you can go.” The voice said
She walked ahead without looking back, when she had just walked for 2 minutes she saw the main road and she quic-kly wore her shoes.
Before driving home she took the plastic and looked inside was a small bottle. She had to take half of the contents and put the rest in her husbands food.
She got home and immediately bathed then formed half of that solution and drank it, her maid was washing in the bathroom and had the baby on her back.
“what time did junior sleep?” she asked the maid
“not too long ago”.. the maid responded.
“Has he eaten anything? She asked.
“no he has been very gloomy today and he has been crying a lot, I tried to feed him but he could not eat anything”.. the maid responded.
“Ok give him to me let me take him to the be-droom.
Nonde’s son was now 3years old and had developed a strong attachment with his father, this was one of the reasons why she was bothered that Clive had no time for his own son.
Clive arrived home around 21hrs and Nonde was awake waiting for him to come. Her son was awake but still refused to eat but he kept her busy as he ran around the house.
“welcome back honey”.. she greeted him while she as-sisted him with his briefcase.
de-ep inside she was so mad at him for cheating on her but she couldn’t even question about it.
“I am well thank you” he responded as he sat.
Soon their son ran to him and he lifted him with joy..
“Aww my lovely boy, how are you today.. he said as he tickled him.
Junior Clive giggled as he pla-yed with his dad, Nonde looked at how happy they were together and realised that’s what she wanted to last forever. She quic-kly went to the kitchen and then put the solution in the food.
After setting the table she gr@bb£d junior and went with him to the be-droom and Clive washed his hands re-ady to start eating when suddenly he heard a loud cry from junior.
Nonde had put him on the be-d but he rolled over and landed hitting his head.
Clive was really mad and yelled at Nonde, he picked junior and ban-ged the pas-sage door as he carried him downstairs. He started feed him the rice that Nonde had set for him.
After giving him 3 spoons of the rice, Clive noticed that Junior started looking drowsy then he started vomiting foamy substance and his eyes rolled up.
“Junior! Junior! Junior!.. Clive screamed hysterically.
Nonde ran to the sitting room and realised the worst thing had happened, junior had taken the food instead of Clive.
“Oh my God!.. oh my God!.. Nonde yelled as she threw herself on the ground in tears.
The maid who was in the guest wing heard the noise and she rushed into the house to see what was going on.
She quic-kly gr@bb£d the child and told them to st©p crying as the child was not dead but just unconscious.
“I know someone who deals with such cases he doesn’t stay far from here… you can pick him up while I start to intercede, what he nee-ds is prayer”… she said.
Clive drove out with the maid’s husband while she held the baby and started singing a worsh!pchorus.
Nonde ran out of the house and took to the streets not even knowing where she had gone
When the pastor arrived they prayed for the child and finally the child gained consciousness but the pastor asked to see Nonde and it was then that they realised she had run away.
Nonde had lost her mind and she started str!pping off her clothes as she ran in the dark.

Do you think Patience’s marriage will really work out despite her efforts to make it work? Can you suggest what is going to be the outcome of Nonde’s madness?
MY PERFECT MARRIAGE
EPISODE 12
Clive was confused, what was happening did not make s-en-se to him, the pastor tried to calm him down and explain what was happening. As they went round looking for Nonde all Clive could think of was Tasila the girl he was supposed to marry before he impregnated Nonde. It was all clear to him, Nonde had f0rç£d herself on him and he married her, the more he thought about it the more he hated Nonde.
“Pastor I cant, I really can’t do this anymore” he said as he parked by the side.
“Look pastor she has caused me enough harm, I don’t want to see her..” he added
“She is still your wife.. she may have wronged you but she is your wife..” the pastor interrupted.
“She deceived me, she is not the woman I loved in fact I have never loved her..”
As Clive sat in the car arguing with the pastor
Nonde pas-sed by the vehicle and they ran to get her. Nonde was truly mad and she did not even recognise Clive but they put her in the vehicle and drove home with her..
She sle-pt in the quarters and the follwing day the pastor c@m£ with a few people and they started to pray for her, after 4hours of serious praying, Nonde finally let go of the spirits that were in her.
When Nonde narated everything she had done Clive was in shock and he wept, all he wanted was to find Tasila and at least apologise even if it meant he would never be with her again.
“How could you do this to me Nonde? What did Tasila ever do to you?..” he asked her.
Nonde couldn’t give an answer but she just looked down without saying a word..
Clive went throu-gh counselling, he did not chase Nonde but they did not share the be-droom, Clive had moved to the spare be-droom. He always went to see Bwalya and the twins, the more he saw and spent time with her the more he realised that she was different, she was nothing like Nonde.
One day Clive c@m£ back from work and went straight home, he hadn’t been home early in a long time and he also never ate from home. It was clear that the marriage had reached its breaking point.
Nonde was surprised that he had knocked off early and he called her to the sitting room, when she had settled down he handed her some papers.
She re-ad the first paper and they were title deeds for their mansion, the titles were in her name, the second do¢v-ment said that everything they acquired together was now hers including his two vehicles. The third do¢v-ment was a commitment that he would take care of all the nee-ds of their son, and he also signed and left a slot for her to sign too.
Finally, the set of do¢v-ments which was quite thick and stapled together were divorce papers, he had alre-ady signed on his p@rt.
Nonde looked at Clive and bur-st into tears, she cried so much that she couldn’t even hear anything he said. Clive stepped outside and let her cry while he pla-yed with junior.
After close to an hour she joined him outside and handed him the divorce papers which she had signed. Clive did not hesitate, the moment he got the papers he picked his suitcase that had all his clothes and dragged them to the dooor.
“see you in court,” he said before walking out.
He had called a taxi that was waiting for him and he moved immediately to his new ap@rtment where he would stay until the divorce was final.
******3 MONTHS LATER******
Court had just ended and Clive was now a free man, Nonde walked out of court feeling sad but de-ep inside she had realised her mistakes and it was time to let Clive go. Her sadness was that she was now going to raise her son away from the father but the joint custody meant that he could get the boy anytime. She ru-bbe-d her eyes as the sun hit her face while she watched Clive get into a car and drove off. She took in a de-ep breath and walked down the stairs of the high court. “God I know it hurts but finally I don’t have to leave my life like that anymore’ She thought to herself.
That was the first time Nonde genuinely talked to God, as she drove home she thought about her son and how she would explain to him as he grows older what had happened.
The three months leading to the divorce had really drained her, she had lost a lot of weight and her face did not hide the frustration, as she drove home she decided to pas-s throu-gh church for the first time in a very long time.
She parked at the nearest church she could see, walking in felt like dragging a heavy bag full of stones. There was a service in procession but she did not even notice that, all she cared about was to get to the front and get on her knees.
The pastor st©pped talking the moment she walked in and the whole congregation focused on her as she walked. Nonde dragged herself to the front looking all worn out and her strength failing her. She threw herself in front and la-id on the ground as she cried terribly
The pastor asked the choir to sing while the congregation started to pray..
“I surrender all to you…..,
Everything I give to you…
Withholding nothing… withholding nothing…
I surrender all to you,
Everything I give to you…
Withholding nothing… withholding nothing…
I surrender all to you,
Everything I give to you…
Withholding nothing… withholding nothing…
I surrender all to you,
Everything I give to you…
Withholding nothing… withholding nothing…”
The pastor and the congregation prayed so much and while they prayed Nonde kept on crying as she l@yflat on the floor. It was an hour of serious worsh!pand at the end of the prayer Nonde gave her life to Christ.
*******2 MONTHS LATER*******
It had become routine for Nonde to go to church everyday and she had now found herself a family there, she had since started working for a good company and she held a good position, her heart was still looking for the day she would finally face her friends and tell them she was sorry. It bothered her the fact that for so long they had been quiet.
Nonde started counselling people in relationsh!ps and marriages teaching them the importance of putting Christ at the center of their union.
******PATIENCE AND Kas-sY******
“So God works in mysterious ways, how you and I are pregnant at the same time still remains a shock to me”.. Kas-sy said.
“My dear He is good indeed, I really nee-ded this outing girlfriend thank you so much, you don’t know how much I’ve been craving for ice cream this week”.. Patience replied.
“Kas-sy we nee-d to go and check on Nonde, it’s been long. It’s realy been a while, what do you think?… Patience asked
“No dear, Nonde has been distant but hey it’s ok, I think it is for the better. I just want to see Petrina I really miss her. We nee-d to see her one of these days.. she said.
“Kas-sy, Nonde is also our friend despite her tantrums it is almost a year, even if we don’t want her in our inner circle it is better we just check on her.. Patience interrupted
“Ok, if you say so and hey my cousin told me about some lady who has been changing lives at her church. I heard she is so good at helping couples to resto-re their marriages and all.. I really want to go and see her.. Kas-sy said.
“Ok! That sounds like a good idea, I mean Phil!pand I could benefit a whole lot from that..
“Is he still being disconnected?.. she asked.
“Well! You know he is doing his best and you know we are not doing bad at all, it’s just that I feel something Is missing.. I don’t want to seem like I want too much but honestly speaking I really nee-d more, maybe we just nee-d to talk to someone.. patienece replied.
“Uhmm! Are you sure it is just not the pregnancy? I re-ad somewhere that women have such when they are pregnant.. you know like wanting a lot of attention..
“Well I don’t know really… anyway that sounds like a great idea so make sure you get all the details from that woman and then maybe we can pick days when we can see her. She replied.
“I was told she is available on Wednesday and Friday starting from 3pm, Sundays it is a bit ha-rd to see her.. Kas-sy said.
“Maybe we can go there together tomorrow and just make appointments.. what do you think?.. she asked
“That is a deal..
The following day Patience and Kas-sy were at the church around 2pm waiting for her to show up, they were not the only ones. Two other couples joined them and also sat waiting for her to show up.
“Kas-sy I hope you did not bring me here for nothing, seems like this lady is not coming and I left work to come and sit here And wait..”..
“Relax, there is still time.. it’s only 10mins past 3pm she will be here.
Nonde arrived carrying a l@pt©p and her handbag on the other hand. Kas-sy and Nonde did not recognise her from afar as she had lost a lot of weight and she looked very smart and youthful in her pink suit.
“Am so sorry the office was very busy.. she said as she unlocked the door. It was then that Kas-sy and Patience saw her closely and realised it was Nonde.
Kas-sy was shocked and she stared at Patience with a blank look. Patience on the other hand couldn’t believe her eyes.. They got up and walked in to the office… Nonde couldn’t belive her eyes, she quic-kly got up from her sit and knelt down before them.
“Glory to God, Abba father you are merciful.. Nonde said as she held their pregnacies.
“Nonde what is going on here? You are now a pastor?.. patience asked.
Nonde wept terribly as she knelt before them..
“Get up… boyi get up… talk to me what is the matter?” Kas-sy said as she struggled to lift her from the ground.
Nonde gathered herself and went back to her sit and finally broke the silence. After narrating everything and confessing to what she did to them by using charms to block them from giving birth.
Patience and Kas-sy had nothing to say, they were both in a state of shock. Patience was busy with her life and did not even realise that she struggled with conceiving, Kas-sy was more affected because she had miscarried a number of times.
“You have gone throu-gh enough pain, May you find peace in all you do, God has been so kind to me that it will be unfair for me not to forgive you…. Patience get up lets go..” Kas-sy said.
Nonde was shaken and she remained staring at the ceiling.
As Patience and Kas-sy walked to the car park they were silent and could not believe what had just happened.
“I wish I could be mad at her but indeed God knows why certain things happen, I was just shocked. Patience said
“you are right mama we live in a wicked world, whoever thought our very own friend, not just friend but childhood friend would do this to us.. Patience this world is wicked..”..
“Let’s go Kas-sy, let’s go my friend, we cannot change what has happened”
“Sure we can’t,, about Phili-p.. try to talk to him and tell him how you feel. Otherwise.. I’m sure it’s just the pregnancy…” Kas-sy said
“Prayer is key at the end of the day.. I wish we knew better in our junior years.. Patience said.
“It is fine mama, God is on our side still.. kas-sy responded before p@rting ways.
Phil!phad delayed to come home that day, but as usual he always c@m£ with gifts for his wife.
“why the late night?”.. Patience asked
“I’m sorry honey I was working late but I will make it up to you.. he said as he pe-cked her forehead.
Patience was happy seeing her husband but her heart was not at peace. Before she fell asleep that night she asked him to mas-sage her feet and he agreed. As phil-ips at mas-saging her feet Patience couldn’t st©p staring at him, she had known her husband so well that she could s-en-se a problem from afar. Worry was written all over his face. She did not know what it was about, could it be that he was hiding something?
“Honey why have we suddenly grown ap@rt?” Phil!pquic-kly asked as if he was re-ading her mind.
Patience had no idea what to say but she just smiled at him.
“I have being missing you too honey and I feel like something is missing.. She said.
“Nothing is wrong on my p@rt I guess it is just that you nee-d me more now in your condition.. I promise to make it up to you baby.. he said.
She looked at him closely and then k!$$£d hisl-ips.. She was so happy as he said all that she nee-ded to hear.
“I guess so honey… I nee-d you more”.. she said.
“I am here honey and always will be,”.. he said
Meanwhile Tisa had started becoming impossible despite everything Phil!pdid for her she was ma-king serious demands. It was either the babies nee-ded something or she nee-ded something. Phil!pwas becoming more stressed.
Tisa had everything at her disposal and she had opened three other br@nches of her boutique with more than 25 workers un-der her. She was doing well for herself and swimming in luxury.
Phil!pdanced to her tune for fear of Patience finding out. He now had to gamble between work and visiting her during the day as he could not pas-s the night at her house, she was very jealous and demanding. She took it upon herself to spy and she finally knew Patience. When she discovered that Patience was pregnant she did not give Phil!ppeace, she made demands like crazy and before he could budget for his home the first priority was Tisa’s house. She made many demands including listing her as beneficiary to his wealth, he also opened a joint account with her and listed her as his wife.
