I was about to eat dinner when someone called me on a pri-vate number .
“Hello”I said.
“Meet me in Seugi_ri now”the caller said before cutting the call.
an-alysing from the voice, its James. It’s late at night, what is he planning to do now?
“Dad, I will be going out “I said while dropping my spoon.
“Where are you going?”he asked me.
“I’ve got unfinished business somewhere. I think today is the day to finish it up”I said.
“Okey, take care”he said before I walked out of the house.

There are no c@m£ras in this area, i will kill that son of a bi***h and burry him here.
In no time, I heard a car coming to a halt. That bastard is really fearless.
“Boys,go and esc-rt our visitor here”I commanded some of my boys and in no time, they come in with Micheal.
“Wow, your indeed fearless. I never expected you to come all the way here knowing that it’s nothing but digging your own grave”I said and he smiled.
“I guess this is my chair”he said while sitting down facing me.
“Micheal, we have to end this once and for all”I said.
“That’s why I’ve come all the way here. James, are you that stupid to hurt an innocent baby only coz of your heart de-sires?”he fired at me.
“I do over come every obstacle that is found on my way to success. By the way, it’s only three weeks old. It’s not like it has transformed into a baby yet. It’s just nothing but a tumor.”I said and I don’t know when he flew to me and gr@bb£d my collar.
“You were also like that tumor,James. Do you know how much pride I swallowed and how much effort and courage I put to bring that tumor in there? Do you think you can just show up from nowhere and drain my efforts? No,James I will never let that happen”he said furiously.
“Wow, it’s been long since I last saw you this annoyed. But dear,you have to un-derstand that today your my hostage. You have no right to talk back to me or”I said.
“Or what?”he fired.
” A bullet in here will shut you up!!!”I yelled pointing a gun at him.
He took few steps towards me.
“Do you think I do fear you? Do what you can now. Today is the day,we must end this stupid game once and for all”he said.
“Why are you so courageous even when a gun is pointed in your head?”I asked in surprise.
“Coz I have something to protect, unlike you who go around not knowing what you really want in life. You think that money is everything”

“You do think that money is everything, no money is not everything. If money was everything, then why did courtney chose me instead of you and your money? Because of true happiness right?”he said.
“James, it’s not yet too late,there are other girls out there who can make you feel complete than courtney. I am giving you a chance to repent your crimes and start a new life. Drop the gun now”he said.
“Like seriously? Am the one carrying a gun here. One word from you! I will pu-ll the trigger”I yelled.
“James, you arw a good person and I know it. That’s why I never reported you to the police before. But you kept annoying my petience that I could not take it anymore. Soon the police will be here and you will be the lastest news tomorrow. The way I know your father, if he finds out about your crimes, he will surely disown you. Look de-ep in yourself and see who truly you are,James,are you planning to waste your life locked up in prison? No, despite being my enemy,you are a friend and I would not want that for a bright friend like you. Think about it for the second time”he said and I was silent for a while.
It’s my father, it’s my father that taught me to get anything I want by all means. I cannot be a cowards. Never!!
“That is nons-en-se!!”I said trying to pu-ll the trigger.
Just then I heard police sirens all over the place.
“Am giving you a chance James. Chose ,do you want to be a murder? Do you want to waste your life like this? James plea-se,I beg of you!!”he said
“Boss,it’s the police,what should we do?”asked one of my boys.
“Evacuate the place”I said still looking at Micheal.
“James,there no way you will get out safe from this place without being caught. Yes, your father got everything he wants throu-gh money and he changed you into this monster. But why did he threaten to disown you once your plan backfires? It’s because he knows that he is wrong and your also wrong. This is a request from a friend and not a competitor or an enemy”he said while kneeling down.
“What are you scheming? One word and I will kill you for sure”I yelled.
“Then go ahead. Kill me for protecting what’s mine. Kill me for trying to correct your wrong ways . Do as you wish, your future is in your hands now”he said.
“Sir, the police are coming upstairs”my boy said .
“Shut up!!!!”I yelled at him and just the ,a gun short was heard.

I’ve been reflecting towards my own actionsand yes,Micheal is right. My only child’s happiness comes first before work and everything.
I looked at the dinning, and the food was not t©uçhed even a bit.
“Where is Courtney?”I asked a maid.
“She has not left her room since she arrived”she said
“Okey, give me the food,I will take it to her”I said as the maid handed me a tray of covered plates.
Courtney is often hungry these days. Why is she skipping her dinner? Is she trying to kill herself?
“Courntey?!”I called while knocking on her be-droom door but got no response.
“Courtney dear,am coming in”I said while pushing the door opened only be greeted with unplea-sant sight.
Courtney lie on the cold floor lifeless,I dropped the tray and rushed to her.
“Courtney? Courtney!!”I kept on calling but never got a response.
“Sir, is everything okey?”a guard asked me.
“Get the car re-ady, we are heading to the hospital now”I said.
“Okey sir”he said and run down the stairs.
“Courtney, dad was wrong,dad was very wrong. plea-se don’t die, hang in there for my sake. I cannot live happy when your not around me”I said.

I slowly opened my eyes and realised that i was on a hospital be-d.
“Son,your awake?” My dad said.
“Dad, how did it go? How is James?”I asked.
“It’s all over now, James have been arrested.”he said before looking at me with red eyes” You idiot are you trying to make me childless? How dare you go there while knowing what trouble awaits for you?”dad said while hitting me.
“Ooch,dad that hurts, can’t you see that I got a cast on my hand?”I said.
“Fine,rest rest son”he said.
Just the a call interrupted us. It was my father’s phone.
He picked the phone and looked at it for a while
“It’s Mr Andrea”he said and I was shocked.
“Why is he calling? Pick it up fast”I said.
“Yes Mr Andrea”said dad.
“What?!Wich hospital? We will be there soon”he said before disconnecting the call.
“What is it dad?”I asked.
“It’s Courtney, she has been rushed to the emergency room”he explained and I don’t know when I re-moved the drip pipe off my hand and rushed out of the room.
Not again,why is this happening to us?
“Micheal,you nee-d to take a rest”my dad said.
“No dad, I nee-d to know how Courtney is. I nee-d to see her condition for myself”I said as my dad start the car engine.

Courtney was rushed into the emergency room and Mr Goo went to attend her.
In no time, he walked out of the room.
“How is my daughter?”I asked him and he shook his head.
“I thought I advised her not to overstress herself. Right now, she is in a critical condition,the chance of losing the pregnancy is 90%”he said and my heart skipped, tears were knocking in my eyes.
“Doctor plea-se, if she lose that pregnancy,I don’t know if I will ever be able to face my daughter again plea-se save them both. plea-se doctor, I beg of you. It’s not a request as someone honorable but a request as a father”I pleaded.
“Calm down Mr Andrea, we are try our best, but your daughter also nee-ds to be strong to overcome this “he said before walking away.
I walked into the ward and saw my only daughter lying unconscious on the hospital be-d. She was being supported by oxygen machine.
I walked and beside her, I hold her hand.
“Courtney,plea-se,be strong for you and the little soul. I am sorry for everything I have done to you. Am sorry for being an irresponsible father”I paused and faced here
“If you and the baby woke up safe,I promise to give my permission to Micheal. I will support the two of you,so plea-se woke up courtney”I said as a tear dropped on my hand. This is the first time I’ve realised how important a parent is to a child.
About an hour later, the door bust opened and Micheal rushed in, he had a cast on his arm.
“Micheal, what happened to you?”I asked but got no response.
“Courntey,can you hear me? Why are you like this again? Courtney plea-se open your eyes”he was arleady in tears.
Watching the two, makes me so heartbroken. Yes, it’s all my fault. I deserve to be blamed. If only I’ve been considerate towards them from the beginning, this would never had happened.
“She is awake”Mr Roche said.
“Courtney!”I called.
“Dad, will you really give me and Micheal your permission?”she said in a weak voice.
So, she’ve been listening all this while?
“Yes, yes dear. Micheal, you can have her,you can have my daughter. Take good care and make my daughter happy. I trust in you as her father”I said but Micheal looked confused
“I don’t un-derstand”he said.
