” Ekwensu ” he muttered un-der his breath as he went out , I went out with him .
” Good afternoon sir …” He said and they gave him suspicious looks .
” Good afternoon ? What is good about this afternoon ? Huh where are you taking her ? One of the men asked .
” Sir ….she’s just being dramatic i swear na my girlfriend ” he said speaking pigin immediately.
” Girlfriend and she no wear sli-ppers ? Another asked referring to me being ba-refooted .
Richie lic-ked his li-ps cutely and looked at me with pleading eyes .
” Dera Please just tell them I’m innocent ” he whispered softly .
” What are you telling her ehhn ! One of the men asked suspiciously .
” Sir the thing is we …where just having a couple’s fight …I just wanted to scare him a bit …but don’t worry we’d make up for it , how about we treat you to lunch ? I asked and they laughed .
” Women will always be women ” one of the guys said and we all laughed .
” I’d just make the transfer ” Richie said still very nervous about what had happened .
He made a transfer an hundred thousand and the guys hailed us as they left .
” Dera that wasn’t funny ” he said immediately they left .
” You’re such a scardy cat you know , remember I told Lagos wouldn’t contain the both of us ? I asked teasingly and he looked into my eyes .
” You’re a witch Dera , infact you fly in broad daylight ” he said walking in front .
” Richie I nee-d a sli-ppers or something ..I can’t Walk ba-refooted ” I said pointing at a shop as I picked my phone .
” We’d just order something ” he said and I rolled my eyes .
” There’s a shop there ,I can get a ru-bber sli-ppers or something” I said frowning .
” ru-bber what ? You’re not putting on ru-bber stuffs Dera just get in the car let’s go ” he said and I folded my arms .
” Mteeeew ” I sighed as I made to walk forward I felt him sweep me off my feet , we’d argued too much on our way so I didn’t wanna stress him .
We got to the shop and I smiled at the shop keeper . ” Sir ….” I trailed .
” Can you show us any boutique around ? She nee-d to get a footwear ” Richie cut me shut .
I glared at him and turned to the man .
” Oga Biko …I nee-d bathroom sli-ppers …Egole ? I asked him in Igbo and his jaws dropped .
” Igbo girl ? He asked smiling and I gave a nod .
” Where are you from ? He asked .
” Ah I’m from Abia state ” I said and we both started speaking our language .
” Sir I said show us the way to a boutique or something , we are going somewhere and she can’t wear something like this ” Richie said Removing the sli-ppers from my hands .
” Richie ” i said angrily and the shop keeper looked at us confused .
” I’m tired of your nonsense Dera why are you hell bent on bringing out the worse in me , if I start talking you’d say I’ve hurt you ” he spat angrily .
” It’s my legs Richie … what’s your business ? I asked and he looked at the man .
” What’s your account number ? He asked the man .
” Oga ? The man asked confused .
” Your account number ! He snapped , I could see that he was seriously annoyed .
” 6019485666 Monday OBI ” he said still in confusion .
” What are you doing ? I asked .
The guy stared at us in shock .
” That’s a sum of 100 thousand naira , do not sell those sli-ppers to her ” Richie said and my jaws dropped .
” Let’s go ” he said and I slapped his hands off my wai-st .
” Sell me the sli-ppers oga ” I said as I started typing on my phone after all I was a quick crammer and already heard the account .
” I’ve sent you sum of 200 thousand naira …just sell me the sli-ppers ” I said and the man stared at us like we’ve both lost it .
” I said don’t sell her the sli-ppers ! Richie said and the man’s phone pinged …
” Ah oga … additional 150 thousand naira for bathroom sli-ppers ? Madam Biko I cannot sell you the sli-ppers ” the seller said and Richie smi-rked at me.
” I’m your Igbo sister Oga ” I said frowning .
” Dera let’s go ” Richie said and I began to struggle with him as he tried to pick me up.
” Madam please just go with your husband ” the man pleaded .
” Dera don’t make me drag you like a bag of beans ” he said frustratedly .
” What do you want from me ! Just let me be I don’t wanna go anywhere with you ! I screamed frustratedly
” Fine …I’m sorry …but you can’t wear that sli-ppers ” he said camly .
” You’re just being super arrogant ever since we came to this place ….I know you don’t love infact you don’t even like me …but can you just avoid me if you’re gonna ru-b it on my face ? I asked as tears rolled outta my eyes and he stared at me .
” You talk like it’s all my fault Dera , you fu-cking started it dammit ! You ru-bbed it on my face that you used me ” he spat and I laughed bitterly .
” I started it ? Richie let’s not open old wounds at all this afternoon …have you forgotten what you said to me ?
” You told me to my face that it’s not like you haven’t fu-cked me before ? You even added that if you wanted to still have svx with me it would be fu-cking easy …! Do you know how cheap I felt ? I asked wiping my tears .
” But that doesn’t mean anything to you , you only think I’m hurting you when your words hurt more dayo … ” I said as I walked out on him .
I got into the car and sat down as I cried bitterly … He got in and drove off .
I noticed he’d brou-ght me back to his father’s mansion . He handed me his hankerchief and we both stared into his others eyes before he looked away .
I wiped my tears as we both walked out .
He let me get a piggy ride as I leaned on his back my tears rolled into his eyes .
We got into the sitting room and I noticed my mom on the sitting room couch laughing with his mom .
” Chidera ‘ she said smiling and I looked in shock .

” Sir you still have the meeting with the investors from Timeless ” Kate said and I turned to her .
We where just coming out of a long meeting and about to go to another ?
I just pray we meet up because I’m stressed already . My mom moving into my Mansion was giving me serious headache .
I know why she’s doing all of this , I regret not telling her about Jackie before all of this .
The wedding plans have already began …we’ve fixed a date and she hears from her sister that the biggest mistake .
She feels if Jackie ever truly cared about me , she’d have wanted to meet my mom after meeting my dad .
I just pray we’re able to get her forgiveness pretty soon , I know mom doesn’t hate Jackie …she’s just trying to frustrate us .
I pray we get over this soon .
” good afternoon boss ” my driver said and bowed as we got in .
I leaned on the chair as I ru-bbed my forehead tiredly .
” Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen ….nice to meet you ,I’m Damilare Kings ” I greeted as I extended my hands for a shake with the men on suit.
” Nice to meet you too Mr Kings ” they all said and I smiled .
We went on with the meeting as we discussed issues about the business and all of that .
We finished the meeting preety late in the evening and I stared at kate as she picked up my laptop .
I shook hands with the men and before we could leave I decided to use the restroom since I was pressed .
On my way out …of the restroom .
I heard noises and boom someone bumped into me and fell on the floor .
I looked down and the first thing I saw was curly brown hair .

” Sorry dear ” I said smiling as he ru-bbed his knees .
” You’re very mean …! He said without looking at me as he ru-bbed his knees.
I bent down to check if his knees where okay .
” I’m fine ” he said smiling and that moment ,our eyes met .
My heart did a hu-ge somersault my jaws literally dropped as I stared at the splitting image of my self when I was younger .
Infact it scared the shit outta me because he looked like a younger version of myself .
” Hey Mr …stop staring help me get up please ” he said and I snapped outta my thoughts as I helped him get up .
” What’s your name ? I asked him curiously .
” Quincy ” he said smiling .
” You came here alone ? Where are your parents ? I asked him .
” Mom’s at work , I came with Nanny ” he said smiling at me and I gave a nod .
” Mom’s gonna scold me a lot ,she doesn’t like me hanging around strangers ” he said frowning cutely .
” Sir are you okay ? Who’s kid are you holding oh my God” Kate said shocked .
I’m sure she’s thinking what I’m thinking , I just wish it’s a random coincidence I mean it could be Feyishayo’s kid right ? We had this bit of resemblance … maybe it’s his son …but feyi doesn’t sleep around ….!

” Quincy …oh my God I nearly died when I couldn’t find you ” the older lady said and grabbed him from my arms .
