? Iris’ standpoint ?

I parked the car in front of the house, a line of maids had formed at the door, waiting to welcome me. I informed them of my arrival and asked them to prepare a bath for Violet and I. I stepped out of the car, threw the key at some random person and walked to the door. Waving off the greeting maids and b©dyguards. I led Violet in, ba-rely seeing where I was going. When we got to the hall leading to the sitting room, I could hear grandpappy’s furious voice.

“I don’t care how ha-rd it would be to find him or what it would do to my reputation, just find that bloody bastard and make sure he face the f0rç£ hand of the law!!!” Violet and I froze, who was that?

“Sir, plea-se calm down, we would find him for sure.”

“What kind of nons-en-se is this! I told Hildegard not to adopt that boy but she insisted, now look what the son of a man I know nothing of have done! How could he be involve in such murderous and illegal acts! Arrest him, I don’t care!” My legs moved, running forward to check on my grandfather.

“Grandpappy!” I shouted with concern. “What is it? Who’s ma-king you upset and setting off your temper?” He breathe in and out heavily. “Where’s the governess? quic-kly get me his medicine…”

“I’m fine Hilde, just furious,” I helped him sit, ru-bbing his shoulder comfortingly. “I have bad news,’ I looked at the suited men in the sitting room, their faces looked like they were brou-ght up with no happiness. “Your father is now a fugitive…”

“Fugi-what now!” Violet and I exclaimed.

“This government officials have just reported that he have been operating illegally. He has an illegal lab where he carries out experiments on little children. The children were kidnapped, bought and stolen. The records showed that he is also responsible for the deaths of some of the children parents in other to silent them. I don’t know what else to do but let them have him. That bastard was never my son, my wife adopted him after his father died in jail. Phili-p’s mother was a maid here, after her husband died, she ran away leaving Phil!pwith us. Hildegard had to adopt him and now see, like father like son.”

I didn’t know what to say, I was shocked beyond words. Violet broke the silent with a hysterical laugh, laughing like a mad woman. Tears streamed down her cheeks just like mine, a laughing tears. “Did you hear that Iris, he was never a true son and yet he killed so much to gain what wasn’t his. Do you hear that?”

“Violet…” I tried to speak.

“No!” She screeched, “no, no, no,” she wailed, falling to her knees. “He killed our father, ruined our lives and now he is not a true son?”

“What is she talking about?” Grandpappy asked in confusion.

“I returned to reveal a shocking revelation. Violet and I have just found out that Phil!pand Janet are not our parents, but your second daughter Allifair.”

“What?! How?!” I from there explained everything to them, shoving in my tears while Violet cried out. Grandpappy was beyond rage when I was done. The men had gotten another evidence to pin him down. Turns out he had escaped and was now a fugitive.

The men told us what he had done to the children, turned all to freaks in different ways. When Phil!pfound out that he has been expo-sed, he killed all the children and destroyed the building along with his work so no one would find it. Over 200,000 children dead because of one man.

Broken, he had left a permanent scar in the lives of the twins he stole.

? Jasmine’s standpoint ?

Five Days Later

With great excitement, I hoisted my bag over my shoulder. It was time for lessons. Phoenix’s older brother was tutoring Phoenix and I. Originally, his girlfriend ought to but she left to attend to something. So despite his busy schedule, he volunteered to tutor us. The best p@rt about the lessons was getting to be with Phoenix, I really liked the guy even if I didn’t know him. He was the first guy my age to be this nice to me, the breakthrou-gh I could see and my future hope. His siblings liked me when I went there the first day, Lee gave me some of her old clothes. By old clothes, I meant the ones she bought but never wore. Hailey threw her shoes and some jewelry to me and their cousin gave me her bags and hats. I met Melody Bree! I almost coll@psed.

I just love his family.

“Jasmine! Your b©yfri£ndis here!” My younger brother shouted. I rolled my eyes, I wouldn’t mind though. I picked up my phone and ran out. Phoenix bought me a new phone. I had simply pointed to the phone when I saw it on TV. And the next day, the phone was mine.

“Bye family!” I shouted, running out of the front door. I ran to the car, he opened the door for me throu-gh the inside. I stepped in and slammed the door shut. “Hey Phoe,” I smiled. He returned my smile and ignited the engine. “how was your day?”

“Worth it, come on,” he drove off, “we won’t be tuto-red today by Hans, we would learn ourselves.” My eyes wi-de-ned, did I do anything wrong?

“Why? Is it…”

“No, he is just worried. His girlfriend have been gone for days now, not answering his phonecalls or replying his messages. He have tried reaching her but everyone he tried to use isn’t getting to her and she left a strong warning for him not to find her. He is contemplating whether to go to England or not.”

“But what’s wrong with her?” I asked frowningly. “Why put such a lovable guy in such a situation, that’s unfair.”

“She just found out that her father isn’t her father and she was stolen from her mother along with her older twin. The man she called father killed her biological father and tried to kill her grandfather,’ he said blankly.

“Oh,” I murmured, that’s reasonable. “But she nee-ds him now than ever,” I said as a matter-of-fact.

“I don’t think she knows that,” he said with a simple shrug. I began to pity for the girl. Who was his brother d@t!nganyways?

Two hours later, Phoenix and I were taking a break. Turns out Hans did teach us after all but told us to take a break. Himself and Phoenix were pla-ying basketball with their sister’s cute b©yfri£nds while we watched. Lee was gracefully feeding me with ice cream, while Melody was polishing my nails. Hailey just stared at the guys, sas-sing whoever she could sas-s.

“Jet, you are suppose to throw the ball, not marry it!” She shouted. “Why can’t you do anything right!”

“I can ban-g you right!” He shouted back. We tittered as her face turned red while the guys laughed. Hans didn’t laugh though, he wasn’t himself. As I was laughing, my eyes averted to the entrance of the outside basketball court. A girl stood there, her hair was as black as a raven’s wings, big brown eyes shimmering as the sunset reflected on it. She looked extremely pale, tired and frustrated. Tears streamed down her face, her eyes were swollen and red and she looked like she emaciated.

“Lee,” I called with a little fright. Her eyes held so much sorrow and pain.

“Yeah?”

“Who’s that?”

“Who?” Mel asked, not looking up from my nails.

“Her,” I inclined my head to the girl. Lee followed my point, a g@sp left her mouth instantly.

“Oh my God! Iris!” She skrie-ked with shock.

“Where?!” Hailey shouted. Soon they all turned to her direction. Hans ran to her, worry filling his face. The girl stood up and hurried to her.

“Hans,” she sobbe-d, “I feel like dying,” she cried out, holding her che-st. He pu-ll-ed her into a hvg, she broke into a fresh tears in his arms. “I just feel like my whole existence is a lie, a bitter sad fv¢king lie! Why? Why did fate deny me of everything good, why!”

“It’s going to be okay…”

“It’s not!!!” She screamed out. “It’s not!!! He killed her! He took her away from me before I got to know her!”

“Who? Who did he take?” Lee asked agitatedly. “is Violet alright?”

“Yes, I’m fine,” another girl with violet hair dye said. I didn’t see her there before. She wasn’t crying but she looked every bit as frustrated as the crying girl. “Our biological mother is dead…”

“What! How?!” They shouted.

“She died last night, was found dead by Iris in her room with a dagger in her forehead. The stupid beast wrote on the wall with her blood that it was just a final goodbye to us, the final sad k!ssto us. Grandpappy said not to leave the house or let anyone in for our safety but everything is driving her mad. I sneaked her out because she nee-ds you guys more now.” The girl wiped a single tear off.

“He is after you guys too?” Hailey asked shakily.

“Perhaps, Knight’s father got into a fatal accident an hour ago, he’s dead.” Melody’s mouth fell open.

“fv¢k,” Johnny cursed. Tears ran down my cheeks, who is that monster! “We nee-d to get them to safety, like now!”

“I agree,” Phoenix said rather evenly, “to dad’s, right?” They nodded positively. Mel was alre-ady trying to call someone.

“He’s not answering!” She yelled as she aggressively tapped her phone. “I’m leaving for England, Bluey, let’s go!”

“Mel…” She ran away before anyone could st©p her.

“Come on Iris,” Hans whispered. Phoenix c@m£ over to me, a sad but even expression on his face.

“Is she going to be okay?”

“Humph,” he shrugged, “let’s take you home.” I didn’t want to go, I wanted to stay and support her, but I knew it wasn’t my place to.

? Iris’ standpoint ?

Regret, I was filled with regret and nothing else. I regretted not meeting her. That day I had decided to finally meet her, accept her motherly love and finally be happy. Violet took me there, waited outside for me to talk to her first. She wasn’t in the living room, nor the kitchen so I went to her be-droom. I knocked but no one answered, called out but nothing. I entered and that was when I saw it. On the floor to her bathroom door was a twisted figure like a broken Barbie doll, lim-bs askew, n£¢k bent at a grotesque angle, black hair fanned out on the floor. A dagger made itself home on her forehead, her dress to-re open. Blood sipped into the floor from her head and soa-ked the floor from her legs.

She was R@p£d and killed.

I stood there frozen, my voice caught in my throat. It felt like a dream, felt like I was hallucinating. My mind went straight to when I found Janet dead in her room. She was resting at the floor of her be-d with head rested on it, hands spre-ad ap@rt and clumsily la-id on the floor. Blood sipped out of her wrist where she cut herself. In her other hand was a note, the note she had written “I rather die than be the mother of a lunatic like you. Go to hell Iris, die!!!”

It felt like it was happening again, it ‘was’ happening again. My eyes ran along her b©dy to the words written on the wall close to the bathroom door. “Here’s my final p@rting gift to you girls, hope you enjoy the rest of your miserable lives. But remember, always watch your back because you can never tell when someone is stalking.”

I couldn’t move, I still couldn’t cry, I was aghast. I must have been standing there for too long because Violet c@m£ in and the first thing she did was scream. The scream snapped me out of it, forcing me back to a sad reality, a reality that s£nt me crashing into darkness. I woke up to the feeling of emptiness, no tears in my eyes. I remained quiet, unable to eat or speak. I still don’t know how I got to Hans’, but I’m sure glad. The moment I saw him, I let the tears out.

So there I was, staring into space, sighing heavily with dried eyes and no energy in me to speak a word. I was at Hans’ mother’s, I was broken. Hans was being a good b©yfri£nd, but nothing seemed to be getting to me.

“Iris,” I sighed as a reply. I felt him climb into the be-d, pushing it down. “Babe, plea-se talk to me, plea-se, I hate seeing you like this,” my eyes twitched. The sound of his voice, he was crying. I turned my head to him, my b©yfri£ndwas crying for me. “Iris, plea-se come back to me,” his voice was taut and choked. “I miss you.”

“Hans,” I called out softly, reaching out for his we-t cheeks. I cu-mpped them in my hands. “I’m sorry, I just can’t think, can’t feel and…and…”

“Then let me take the pain away, even if it’s momentarily,” I smiled at his offer but S-x was the last thing in my mind. It would help me but still, I couldn’t do that.

“I don’t think that would help,”

“I know you feel like you have been rejected once more, like a hope for more happiness have been stolen. But look at the bright side, you have me and your friends and my family is yours. Grandpappy is there for you as well…”

“He’s old, he will die soon,” I snapped, “that means I have only Violet!”

“You have Knight, Melody, Lee, Hailey, your other relatives, me, Arlene and my family. Compared to few months ago and now, what do you see?” He was right. Who did I have before? I even had Violet of all people and that was enough. I didn’t know her anyways but that didn’t mean I would forget her, that meant I would move on with the people I love.

“Hans,” I sobbe-d, falling into his arms. I crashed myl-ips onto his, k!ss!nghim intensely. He wra-pped his arms around my b©dy, switching the k!ssto a hungry desperate one. I m0@n ed into his mouth as his ton-gue swept my mouth, our hands str!pping us of our clothes.

Soon our clothes were scattered everywhere I presumed, his mouth and hands everywhere at the same time. It was so heated and pas-sionate at the same time, happening so fast I couldn’t think well. Soon he was ramming my thoughts away, pounding my pain to the back of my head. Our m0@n s bounced off the walls of the room, good thing we were home alone. Sweats drenched our exhausted b©dy as we la-id in each other’s arms, my head on his che-st and eyes sealed shut as my f!ngersran along his abs.

“I love you Hans,”

“I love you too,” he whispered softly, planting a soft k!sson the t©p of my head. “Don’t let life frustrate you Iris, and always remember that I’m here for you, okay?”

Could he be anymore supporting and perfect for me? If anyone had told me that I would end up with a guy like him, I wouldn’t have believed it. Now I was safe with him and him alone.

That was all that matters.
