? Charlotte ?
I stood in my office trying to catch my breathe.
How the heck did everything happened?
I still don’t un-derstand how Jace turned out to be my boss!
Was it him Neel took away his properties?
Sighing loudly, I continue gathering the files I was entering into the system before he called me!
I chuckled as I remembered he forgot what he actually called me for!
Good thing I wasn’t the only one nervous!
I thought he was gonna be very strict on me because I didn’t gave an answer to his proposal! It wasn’t even a proposal!
He did told me he love me but he didn’t ask me out so how do I reply to that?
When I don’t know how I feel about him! I am just having a mixed feelings and it’s confusing me!
He’s scary and at the same time cool to be with .
The last few days I spent with him made me un-derstand the type of person he is.
I just hope I will be able to cope with his pres£nce and to crown it all being my boss!

” Let’s go alre-ady Chelsea, it’s getting dark ” Neo said worriedly!
Getting dark by 5pm? What the hell? I know we close from work by 5pm but it’s not that late right?
I can even be outside till 3am in the morning!

I think I will start bringing my own car from tomorrow! He’s such a scary cat!

” Do not worry, you can go home. I am going out with a friend ” I said and a small blus-h appeared on my face.
He studied me for a while shaking his head!
” A friend? You have friends around here?”
” Well! He’s just someone I met some weeks ago ”

Oops! Gosh! Can’t I just keep something to myself!
I wanted to tell only Charlotte about this first!
” Uh..m yeah ” I replied stuttering! As an elder brother, he might kick against being friends with guys but Charlotte and I are matured right?
24 freaking years, old enough to get married even!
He chuckled at me staring suspiciously!
” O..oh okay , now what did you expect me to tell Mum and Dad? They are going to ask of you ” he said!

He nodded staring into my soul! I blinked my eyes and looked back maybe there’s someone he’s looking at but no, it was me!
His intense gaze were burning me that I have to clear my throat!

Oh; I know my cheeks have turned pink alre-ady!

” Uhh, t . thanks, you don’t look bad either” I complemented
” Good evening ma’am and Sir, what can we offer you?” The waiter popped up!
” Water will do ” I replied bashfully!
I don’t wanna order anything and he won’t have enough money to pay!
He will feel embarras-sed if I pay and again, wanna eat dinner with my family!
” Just water?” He asked and I nodded
” And you sir?”
” jui-ce then ” he replied, the waiter took down our order and left!
” So?”
” So? Maybe we should use this time to get to know about each other ” he said
” You alre-ady know me right? I am Chelsea, nothing interesting about me ” I replied bluntly
” I just wanna here you speak Chelsea, I will still listen even if it’s not interesting. I want to know about you like your childhood, you growing up, those memories ”
My face turned sour! My expectation changed into a dark one! The smile on my face vanished into the tin air as tears gathered up immediatetly!
There are memories I don’t wish to remember anymore, the memories I am trying so ha-rd to forget, those painful memories that tears me up whenever I remember them?
What exactly should I tell him? That I bec@m£ a se-x toy to different men before I could even clock ten?
Or that I grew up as a thief? Or the fact that I was beaten up to stupor several times for running away from being taken advantage of? Or those times I pas-sed out due to the way Martin go into me r0ûghly!

I stayed back to finish up my work and now this?
Pacing to and fro! What do I do now? No single cab in sight!

I can’t possibly take a walk home, it’s very far from here and this place seems dangerous!
The darkness alone is scaring the cra-p outta me!
Oh saviours! I saw a car coming and I prayed silently!
Let the person be going my way plea-se! And on the other hand, I was scared!
What if it’s a kidnapper or a robber?

I began shifting away from the road ma-king my way to run!
No! I took to my heels immediately to anywhere my legs lead me to!
” C’mon Charlotte, it’s me. Can you plea-se st©p running? ”
I almost fainted on hearing the voice! I st©pped breathing heavily so as he! He ran after me!

I hived a sigh of relief heading back to where he was standing! Gosh! He scared the cra-p outta me!
You wouldn’t blame me, I ought to be scared!
When I got nearer, I saw he was laughing ridiculously at me!
Seriously! It’s not funny! I had to run fir my life! I haven’t done anything reasonable for myself in life so I don’t wanna die or get kidnapped again!
The first experience wasn’t all good;
” Wait! Where were you even running to?” He asked amidst laughter while I rolled my eyes!
” You can be this scared Charlotte ” he was still laughing
” It isn’t funny seriously, I had to run for my life ” I said walking back to my condemned car!
” Well I un-derstand but what are you doing on the street by this time?” He asked
” I..it’s my car, it got knocked down . It just wouldn’t start ” I replied blatantly
” Okay, I can give you a ride home then you can fix your car by tomorrow ”
Huh? A ride home? With Jace? My boss?
It will be very awkward and I will feel really uncomfortable!
” Uhhm, you don’t have to worry! I..I will just call my brother to come pick me ” I said!
If I have thought of that, I wouldn’t be on the road by this time!
” C’mon Charlotte, it’s dangerous here. Before your brother comes who knows anything might happen ”
” Just let me take you home plea-se, this once ” he pleaded.
This is actually the first time he’s pleading for something! He pleaded with me for the very first time so do I have any option?
What he said is true, street boys are psychos .
They might Rob me and decide to do otherwise!

I sighed raising my hands up in surrender!

He gladly opened the pas-s£nger side for me like a gentleman and I sat down!

The conditioner was switched on but I was feeling the inner heat! I can’t wait to alight from the car !

Is that a question? He can see I am fine or did he just want to start up a conversation?

I hopped out of the car and so did he! Wait! Okay!

I know I shouldn’t ignore Noah’s calls but I can’t help it!
I won’t be able to say a word when I am in tears!
I am not mad at him for what happened earlier! If he had known how much it will hurt me remembering my past, he wouldn’t have brou-ght it up!
That moment, I just couldn’t think straight! I am wrong for leaving him , I just wanted to cry my eyes out!
I wanted to tell him about me but I couldn’t!
I don’t know how to start such conversation!
I grew up with no one to talk to, no one to advice me and no one to confide in .
I just don’t know how to share my problems with others!
Then , it happened! I keep it within me ! Who do I tell when I had no one? I guess that’s what’s affecting me till now!
The door opened revea-ling my other half, I quic-kly wiped the tears in my eyes faking a smile!
I don’t want her to get worked up over me! I hate being a liability to people!

She looks somewhat happy and I could tell she’s blu-shing over what God knows!

Seriously? I don’t even know anyone except Neo and Martha! That’s his secretary!

I picked up my phone and switched it on, that sound it makes while starting happens to be my ringing tone .
” Wait a sec ” I told her and she nodded while I did like I was receiving a call!
” Hello, good evening ” I said to no one while she watched keenly
” Yes one of Mr Gabriel’s twins ”
” Oh! Maybe you mixed my number with hers, this is Chelsea speaking not Charlotte ”
” W …. what?”
” Oh my goodness! Jace? H..how? What happened? ”
I said dramatically and I saw Charlotte tensed! Yeah! That’s what I want
” O.. okay, I will inform Charlotte immediately and she will be there ”
I hung up feigning sad!
” What happened Chelsea? What happened to Jace? Is he fine?” She asked hitting me slightly
” I..I am sorry Charlotte, he got into an accident on his way and…it’s really bad , I don’t know how they got my number b.but he was rushed to the nearest hospital, JK”
Before I could say another word, she was alre-ady at the door!

I tried ha-rd to hold my laughter and called after her!
