Episode 3

“The gentlemen’s code-always protect her.”
Dominic POV✨✨
I felt someone bu-mp into my b©dy and I manage to catch her before her b©dy hit the cold concrete.
I was so shocked when I saw her face. It was her, the one that filled my mind with so many questions.
We stared at each other un-der the dim light. My hand was behind her back while hers clutched my shi-t ti-ghtly.
“Hey, what’s going on?” I couldn’t help but noticed the nervous look.
“plea-se, let me go.”
She chided while re-lease her grip and re-ady to escape again but I manage to catch her w@!st before pu-lling her to the corner.
I leaned her back onto the wall and I stood in front of her tried with my hands caged on both side, covering her from the guy that kept screeching for her name.
We stood closely to each other in the corner. I could feel her breath fanning on my n£¢k. I looked down at her face while my hands on her w@!st.
She tilted her head up and stared at me as she could feel my eyes on her. She buried her face on my che-st when she heard footsteps coming closer.
“Are you running from that guy?” I asked when the guy ran to the other side and out of our sight.
She keeps silent and avoided my question. “Are you the guy that-”
“Yes, It’s me. From the h0tel room,” I cut her s£ntence knowing what was in her mind.
“Thank you.” She re-moved my hand from her w@!st.
“Thank me later. Now, you nee-d to follow me,” I said and I gr!pp£dher hand walking out from the bar before she could say anything.
I brou-ght her to my car. I helped her to open the door and signaled her to enter.
“Where are we going?” She looked at me with curious eyes.
“Helping you to escape from the guy,” I answered her and pushed her b©dy gently to the car seat and buckled the seat belt for her.
“What? No. No. I can’t go with you.
My friend still waits for me inside. I nee-d to let her know plus I can’t leave with a stranger.”
She tried to unbuckle the seat belt and get out of the car but before she could escape I pushed her b©dy causing her stumbled on the seat.
“I’m not a stranger. I know your name, Ara.” Her eyebrows arched, shocked that I called her name correctly. Cute.
That was the most suitable word to describe her face. I almost chuckle but I suppressed it.
“Now, listen to me and just follow me. I can ensure that you are safe with me.
I will not do anything that harms you. Trust me.” Doubt, that was all I can see from her face as she tried to push my b©dy away from the car.
“No, I won’t follow you.” She snapped while her hand tried ha-rder to push my b©dy that blocked her way out from the car but I did not budge.
“Don’t move or I will k!ssyou,” I lowered my b©dy and made my face leveled to her face. I stared at her face closely and our faces were just few inches away from each other.
“Say one more word and I will k!ssyou,” I warned her when I noticed she tried to utter something. She shut herl-ips ti-ght which earned a smile from me.
She pressed herl-ips ti-ght to avoid any words escape from herl-ips and to be sealed with a k!ss.
“Good girl.” I ruffled her hair which caused her to gr0@nannoyingly.
In the car
“Can I borrow your phone? I nee-d to make a call to my friend and I forgot my phone in the bar,”
Ara break the silence at the moment she realized that her purse and phone weren’t with her. She must forget to take them when she saw that guy.
“As you wish,” I handed her my phone while my eyes still focusing on the road.
She pressed the screen and placed the phone to her ears the next second.
“Hey, Jess. It’s me Ara,” she said when the line connected. “I’m safe and I forgot my purse and phone in the bar.”
“Oh no, hmm,yes..this is my friend’s number. I will explain it to you tomorrow.” I silently listen to her conversation and I smile at the word ‘friend’ that she mentioned.
“So, I guess now we are friends,” I said to her when she ended the call and handed the phone to me. I looked at her with a smile curved on myl-ips.
“Thank you and no. We are not friend.” She answered emotionless.
“Not yet, but soon,” I corrected her and turn my sight back to the road. The phone rang before I took my phone from her.
“Can you plea-se answer for me?” I asked her. She realized that I nee-d to focus while driving, so she pressed the answer bu-tton with the loudspeaker on and moved the phone near to me.
“Hi, son. Where are you?” The familiar voice on the other line spoke. Without looking at the name, I know the person on the line.
“Hi, mom. I’m on my way back to my penthouse. I’m with my girlfriend now,”
I glanced at her to look at her reaction. She frowned and her jaw ha-rd ened. With her slightly p@rtedl-ips, she glared at me with furious eyes.
“Oh my God. Did you say girlfriend just now?” Mom questioned with excitement. As I expected, she loves the t©pic. I chuckled at her reaction.
“Yes, mom. Girlfriend,” I purposely highlighted the last world.
“I will introduce her to you next time. Let me enjoy my time with her alone now, mom.”
“Oh, sure! No problem son. I will not disturb you two for now but plea-se make sure to introduce her to me next time.”
I could imagine hen expression even though I can’t see her face now. We ended the phone with a goodnight.
“Why are you lying to your mom?” She pressed the red bu-tton immediately. I sm-irked, with no intention to answer her.
“Where do you want to bring me? Can you drop me somewhere? I can take a cab back to my house.”
“Nope, just tell me your home address and I will drive you home.” I definitely won’t allow her to take public transport alone. It was late at night plus she is so attrac-tive.
Someone might do something bad to her. My inner voice convinced me.
“No, I can go back on my own.” She can’t hide her hesitation. Ok, now I know she won’t let me know where she stays. I know she doesn’t trust me. Smart girl, pl@ysafe!
“It’s ok if you don’t want to tell me your address. I will bring you back to my penthouse.
You will stay with me tonight until you tell me where you stay.
I will not let you take the cab and don’t forget that you don’t have any penny with you right now,” I said to her and snatched my phone from her hand.
I know she might end up calling her friend to take her home. Well, I nee-d to pl@ysmarter than her.
“What are you trying to do? I don’t want to go to your place.” She raised her voice, pissed off.
“Do you have a choice? I won’t let you go tonight,” I said firmly. I had decided to keep her with me tonight.
I nee-d to know about the guy in the bar. I know it will not be easy to get the answer from her but at least I can keep her safe with me tonight.

Episode 4

“I couldn’t even explain to you how good it feels to look up across a room and see you stand there.”
Arabella POV✨✨
After 45 minutes of the ride that feel like forever, we finally arrived at his penthouse. He opened the door for me as he s-en-sed my reluctance to leave the car.
I have no choice but to follow him since I refused to let him know my home address.
I won’t let this guy know more about me. We just met twice and he is still a stranger. I don’t even know his name and I’m not interested to know as well.
“We had arrived,” he spoke and stood near the door waiting for me to move from the seat. I looked at him without a smile on my face.
I really don’t know what his real intention is. He offered me his hand but I refused.
“I think maybe I can take a cab back home from here,” I spoke as I stood beside him, letting him shut the door for me.
“Not as you wish.” He said glancing at me. I swear I hate this guy. Such a control freak and I don’t even know if he is helping me or he adds one more problem to my life.
He gr@bb£d my wrist and signaled me to follow his step to his penthouse as he mentioned earlier.
I tried to snatch my hand from his grip but it doesn’t help at all. In fact, he ti-ght£ñed his grip on my wrist and turned to the front with a smile.
“Don’t ever try.” He reminded with a sm-irk. I rolled my eyes as a response and without saying anything I obey his steps to his penthouse, pathetically.
I know I don’t have other choices but to follow him. Silently, I prayed he won’t do anything bad to me.
He pu-ll-ed my hand until we finally reached his penthouse. I looked around at the house when the light being turned on.
It was a nice place with black and white as the theme color. I was amused for a moment. It looked so tidy to be a man’s house.
“Sit.” I heard his voice commanded me to sit on the black couch. I turned my head and saw that he locked the door behind him.
“What a devil,” I cursed inaudibly. Still, I follow what he commanded and settle myself on the black shining couch.
I saw he left for the kitchen and a moment later he appeared with two glas-ses of orange jui-ce in his hand.
“Have a drink.” He handed me one of the glas-s. He sat across me. Our distance were separated by a black marble glas-s table that looks elegant in the living room.
“Thanks,” I muttered and reached for the orange jui-ce. I took a sip of my drink before starting the conversation. “Why are you taking me here?”
“To keep you safe.” His eyes were staring at me. The de-ep stare made my heartbeat abnormal for a moment. It went wild maybe due to the fact that we were alone in the house. My inner voice whispered.
“Why bother?” I tried to act calm and turned my gaze away from him.
“Maybe because I like you.” He whispered some words which only can be heard by him.
“Pardon?” I look at him with a questioning look as I didn’t catch his words. I heard the sound of him clearing his throat.
“I mean I can’t let any violence happen in front of me and it happened for the second time. Ok, enough with me answering the questions. Now is your turn, girl.”
He placed his drink on the glas-s table. “Tell me what happened? Who is that guy? Why he kept chasing you? I noticed you’re scared of him.”
“Are we at the police station now? Am I in the interrogation room now?” I refused to answer his tons of questions.
“To answer that question, no we are not in the police station and yes, I’m interrogating you now. So, plea-se girl, answer my questions. All of it.”
He exclaimed, with his eyes refused to leave my face. I sh0t him with annoying look.
“What if I tell you that I’m not interested to answer your questions? All. Of. It.” I muttered the last three words clearly hoping that he will get my point.
I saw how a sm-irk formed on hisl-ips.
“Being stubborn is not a nice move, girl.”
“Stubborn is my middle name.” I snickered but instead of ma-king him pissed off, he bur-st out laughing. Well, I never expected that answer to be that funny to him.
“Then let me tell you that persistent is my middle name.” He retorted at the end of his laughter.
I didn’t say anything after that as I knew nothing will work out with this guy. I’m getting tired of the bickering.
He raised his eyebrows while staring at me waiting for my answer. My br@in busy thinking about any idea to trick the man that sat in front of me, with his eyes fixed on me.
I cleared my throat before saying anything, “Before that, let’s make a deal first.”
“Deal?” He narrowed his eyes. I nodded as a reply.
“Let me go once I answer all of your questions.”
“Ok, deal.” I never thought he will agree to me this fast with the so-called name; persistent.
“He, I mean that guy is my ex-b©yfri£nd. We broke up recently, but he refused to accept my decision, so he kept chasing me to get me back.”
“If I may ask why you guys broke up?”
“Pas-s, I’m not answering that.” I hope he will st©p asking about the reason which I don’t want to reveal to a stranger.
“Are you hiding something?” I was taken aback by his question but I tried to calm myself to avoid any suspicion from him.
“No, I’m telling you the truth.” I take a sip of the orange jui-ce that I kept holding in my hand and tried to avoid looking at him.
“Ok, if you say so.” I turned my sight to him when I heard his voice again after a short silence.
There was a little happiness in me and I smiled without noticing it.
“Your smile looks beautiful.” His statement replaced the smile with a frown immediately. I’m not even realized that I smiled at him. No, I wasn’t smiling at him.
“So, you will let me go now?” I changed the t©pic, pretending that I didn’t hear him. I saw how he enjoyed the situation now.
“No.” One word that made me looked at him with a questioning look.
“You are not being fair,” my voice raised a bit louder than before. This guy is really testing my limit. Now I was convinced that being with him is a trouble to me.
“I never pl@yfair, girl.” I glared at him, annoyed by his words while he just returned me a sm-irk.
I hate this man, especially when he s£nt me those sm-irks that made me want to punch him ha-rd on the face.
