🏔️🔥💦 MELTING HIS ICY HEART ❄️🔥💧
I gave a small laugh and looked at him intently in the eye “Glad I meant something to you then and I’m very useful” I k!$$£d him lightly on thel-ips and left for my room sadly.
I smiled without emotion as made my way to my room. “I knew I was a fool but I never expected this” I said to him internally, “I gave my everything to you, even my b©dy. I let myself be used by the devil but I can’t keep up with this and continue getting hurt.”
I’m just some pun in his game.
I made a call to the receptionist determined to put an end to everything.
📞”Good evening Zena” I greeted
📞”Hello Daisy, how may I help you?”
📞”I want to quit, the prince is hopeless and can never fall in love” I said coldly over the phone, not wanting the emotions get into my voice.
📞”Really?” She asked in surprise
📞” Didn’t you say…..”
📞”He’s perfectly okay, doesn’t nee-d help.”
📞”Wow… that’s great news”
📞”Yeah I guess”
📞”s£nd your account details, your reward will be forwarded instantly. There must be celebr@tion, you must be very excited”
📞”Yeah….. veeerrryyyy” I replied sarcastically and hung up.
Reminiscing everything that has happened in my three months stay here.
I didn’t know I had said out what has been in my mind all this while, I wasn’t until I had said it did I realize I’ve made a mistake. Even though she laughed a little, I can still see the pain in her eyes.
I la-id on the be-d, thinking of what to say next so I didn’t bother going after her.
I went downstairs to the kitchen, hoping to see a meal on the table.
I got to the dining and saw the table was empty, I entered the kitchen but there was no sign of her cooking. I sighed and head to her room.
“Daisy?” I knocked, waiting for a few seconds.
“Daisy?” I called out again then seeing I wasn’t going to get a response anytime soon, I tried opening the door.
It gave way, I entered the room and my heart plummeted down fast at the sight.
Everywhere was empty, no sign of life. I rushed to wardrobe and saw it was ba-re, nothing was there.
Just like that??
As I walked back to the door, I caught sight on a paper on the dressing mirror. I went over and opened it, re-ading it aloud.
I un-derstand that you can’t fall in love but I can’t continue staying here and hurting myself. Every woman’s dream is to fall in love and be loved and that’s definitely my dream too. Though it hurts to leave you, I have to get rid of the feelings I know can never returned. Sadly, you’ll always be my first love. Goodbye my love and hopefully when we meet again anywhere, we’d become good friends.
I crumpled the piece of paper in my fist, I know we can’t be together forever but I didn’t expect it to be too fast. Why can’t she just be here and un-derstand that falling in love is so scary for me?
I walked towards the be-d and la-id on it, allowing myself to sleep there, imagining myself in her embr@ce
I woke up to the sunlight breaking in throu-gh the window and looked to my side as it has being my routine for the past one week, expecting to see her there.
With each pas-sing day, it hurts a lot not to see her, feel her b©dy against mine, eat her meal, laugh at a joke together, watch movies or just even hold hands with her. If I go after her, what would be my reason?
The voice in my head st©pped, I feel normal once again but still incomplete, still missing out a puzzle piece.
My phone rang, I answered and put it in my ears.
“Hello” said into the phone, my voice hoarse since I haven’t been doing much of a talking.
“Eric dear, heard you’re finally okay.”
“I’m fine mum”
“The girl who was s£nt to you gave us feedback and she has been rewarded for the good work she did with you.”
I was silent for a moment, Daisy was after the money? Well I don’t blame her, who wouldn’t jump at the offer.
“Can we proceed with the wedding with your betrothed then?” Mum’s voice broke throu-gh my thoughts
I thought for a while and said yes. Perhaps with my so called betrothed, I’ll get my mind of Daisy and feel obliged to my bride instead.
“She’ll come spend the day with you then and we can proceed with the wedding anytime you want”
“Can it be fas-ter?” I asked.
“Let’s get married next tommorow”
“Wow…. very good then. I’ll work on it” she replied and hung up.
My thoughts strayed back to Daisy, well maybe she was just really after the money. Her love had been for the money not me. Why do I feel more pained?
I shook her out of my head and went to prepare for the meeting with my supposed betrothed.
🏔️🔥💦 MELTING HIS ICY HEART ❄️🔥💧
The doorbell and I ran towards it after taking a quic-k survey of the living room. Everything is perfect.
I was dressed in a casual wears for the dinner with my betrothed.
“Hey” she waved her perfect manicured f!ngersfilled with golden rings each.
“Hi” I answered and motioned for her to come in.
As she pas-sed, I caught a whiff of her perfume, the smell is very sharp and unplea-sing unlike Daisy who always smell of vanilla and home and doesn’t even nee-d perfume to smell nice.
I shook my head at the thought of comparing my betrothed with Daisy.
I turned and led her to the living room, taking a seat opposite her. I looked at her face closely, she had too much make up unlike Daisy who doesn’t nee-d to enhance her features with anything artificial, She’s always beautiful naturally and wouldn’t dress flashy like the lady sitting in front of me.
“You must be Eric I guess” she said, smiling broadly. Daisy wouldn’t smile these broad and wouldn’t ask silly questions.
I shook my head ha-rd to clear thoughts of Daisy and concentrated in the lady sitting in front of me.
“Yeah” I replied giving a half shrug.
“I’m Julie” she introduced
“Nice name” I gave a small smile and opened the wine I set on the table. “Do you care?”
“Yeah thanks” she answered.
“So let’s get to know each other” I attem-pted at a conversation.
“Yeah sure” she took a sip and stared at me “I hate cooking, it gets on my nerves”
I looked at her in surprise and stayed still as she continued “I love attending functions, that’s the best. And yeah, I really love shopping. It’s what makes my day and then our S-x life, well we’d do something about that when the time comes. We’d do it once in two months, that should work out right since you know, both of us aren’t in for love”
“Yeah yeah” I agreed in a daze, my thoughts strayed over to Daisy again and I found myself comparing every p@rt of Julie to Daisy’s.
“Hellooooooo” Julie’s soft voice broke throu-gh my thoughts.
“Oh sorry, yeah everything will work out perfectly okay” I replied since I had no idea of what she had earlier said “we can proceed with the wedding then?”
“Yeah we can but I have a function to attend next tommorow so can we shift it to tomorrow evening?”
“Totally, I’ll just have to call mum”
“Where can I get a cu-p of coffee?” She asked.
“You can brew the coffee yourself” I told, eyeing her a little as she scrunched up her face.
“I have my f!ngersto protect. I can’t brew a coffee” she lamented “Can you make one me?”
I pursed myl-ips but stood up anyway to make her coffee.
I’m just going to marry her to make my mind of Daisy and start working.
“The prince is getting tomorrow evening” Tina exclaimed behind me.
“That’s good news” I replied and continued fli-pping throu-gh the TV channels.
“Why are you sad? Shouldn’t you be happy you did well?” Tina asked.
I hadn’t told her or my family what really happened in the prince’s place and how I’m in love with him.
“I’m happy for him” I blinked back the tears that threatened to fall.
Tina eyed me dubiously but didn’t ask any more questions.
“Can we get a ticket to Russia asap?” I asked.
“Why? We agreed on going on a vacation next weekend, why the sudden change of mind?” She asked.
I shrugged in response “can we?”
“Maybe you can, we’d join you there”
“Perhaps we should relocated there”I suggested and left her room quic-kly to the living room where I left my phone.
The instant I walked into the living room, my phone rang.
I looked at the caller’s ID and unwillingly answered.
“The prince is getting married tomorrow!” The person said excitedly.
“Why does everyone keep telling me that?!” I screamed in frustration.
“Ouch, are you okay?” Zena asked.
“No I’m not” I replied honestly
“Want me to do anything for you?”
“Yeah” I thought quic-kly “I want the fastest ticket to Russia”
“Ohh hold on a minute” she said.
I heard the taps of keyboard, she’s probably checking the net.
“I can only get you a ticket tomorrow’s evening”
“Can’t something be done in the afternoon?” I persuaded.
“I’m sorry no, only tomorrow evening.”
“Okay thank you, how do I pay you to book for the ticket?”
“I’ll take care of the expenses. It’s the best I can do since you’re not willing to collect your reward.”
“I told you I don’t nee-d it” I said firmly.
“Yeah yeah” I’ll s£nd the ticket to your email, then you can print it out and take to the airport tomorrow.
“Thank you” I said gratefully and hung up.
I rolled my bags to the attendant and showed her my ticket.
I was allowed entrance into the plane after the securities searched me.
I sat beside the window with a very heavy heart, the prince will probably be in his wedding now. In the end, I only got hurt. All fault is on me.
” The plane is leaving in ten minutes.” A voice said throu-gh the speakers.
I stood at the altar, looking at the woman before me in a white go-wn and all of a sudden, I saw Daisy standing far behind Julie with a sad face, looking at me with teary eyes.
I tried shaking off the image but it didn’t budge.
A lone tear escaped from my eyes and I felt I was doing a mistake.
“I un-derstand you’re shedding tears of joy, I’m a little happy too” Julie whispered to me.
“Do you take this man, Prince Eric Harris, to be your husband, to be with him in times of trouble and happiness, throu-gh thick and thin till death do you ap@rt?”
“Yes I do” Julie answered
The Priest turned to me “Do you take this woman, Julie Kells, to be your wife, be with her in times of trouble and happiness, throu-gh thick and thin till death do you ap@rt?” He asked.
I looked at Julie again, do I want to be with her throu-gh thick and thin till death do us ap@rt?
I knew my answer de-ep down so instead, I gently dropped her hands and looked at her intently.
“No” I said in a loud voice, ignoring the g@sp that aro-se from the audience, I ran out. Hoping to find Daisy, the only one in my thoughts.
I drove recklessly to her house after receiving the address from my detective.
“Hi, is Daisy in?” I asked the girl I saw, going straight to the point.
“No, she travelled”
“Out of the country, to Russia” the girl replied. “Aren’t you the prince?”
“Can you call and tell her to wait?” I pleaded.
“I’m sorry I can’t, she boarded the plane about thirty minutes ago, they might have taken off”
I turned around and entered my car, driving fast to the airport as I listened to Zena give out instructions.
“Who are you search for again?” She asked throu-gh the phone.
“Omg, I bought the ticket for her and told her I’ll take care of the expenses since she wouldn’t collect the reward from me” Zena said.
I pressed the br@kes ha-rd “what did you just say?”
“That I bought the ticket for her?”
“No no, the other p@rt”
“Where she didn’t collect the reward?”
“She didn’t?” I asked again.
“Yeah, said she doesn’t nee-d it”
Omg!!! I had judged too quic-kly.
I hit on the accelerator and rushed into the airport.
I went to first desk I saw “is Russia Air still on board?”
“I’m sorry no, it took off seven minutes ago” she replied.
I took an involuntary step backward, she left, I was too late.
