Episode 42

Since Kore bought the house, he had told the previous owner to evict the tenants except Ayo. The last tenant packed out few days before.

After ma-king sure Itunu was okay, Lara had gone back home and Ayo was calm, Kore went back to his house to get some clothes so he could come stay with them but in another ap@rtment which was fine by Ayo.

After everyone had gone, she had called work to tell them about her son and how she would like to take the week off to attend to him and her request was granted.

She and Kore checked on Itunu from time to time for the next three days, keeping him occu-pied even though he kept trying to convince them he was fine.

On Friday, around past 9, Kore put away the file of a company he was studying and went to check on Itunu and Ayo in their ap@rtment. He took his phones, locked the door and then went to their door. He rang the bell and knocked but there was no answer yet throu-gh the curtain, it was obvious the lights were still on. He decided to let himself in, concluding that Ayo was probably taking a bath.

He went to Itunu’s room first, his leg was thrown over his be-d spre-ad, the TV remote in his hand. He was fast asleep. He turned off the TV. Put on the AC. re-moved the remote from his hand and set it on his be-dside table then he adjusted him so that his legs and b©dy were un-der the cover. Then he k!$$£d his forehead and dimmed the lights.

He knocked on Ayo’s door and heard a come in. He pushed the door open. Her back was to him. He asked as he walked towards her,

“Why did you leave your lights on when you know you are about to sleep?”

“Lights? What lights?” Ayo asked just as he got to her and he saw her where she sat on the floor, drinking alcohol,

Kore asked surprised, “Ayo! What’s this? You’ve been drinking?”

Ayo defended, “It’s just red label.”

Kore said before crouching in front of her, “And you are almost done with a bottle! Why?”

Ayo answered, “Why? Why? Why? Are you asking me why? You are the why. One minute you make me so mad and the next, you make me want you to fv¢k me till I drop.”

Kore rolled his eyes. A drun!ken Ayo is always equal to a hor-nyone.

“Don’t you dare roll your eyes at me!”

“Give me the bottle.”

“No.”

“Give it to me.”

She refused vehemently, shaking her head and holding the bottle ti-ghter. He took one look at her and stood up. Why she was drinking irked him. He decided to leave and lock her in. He turned and had taken two steps when he suddenly felt her on his back.

“Baby, maybe I was wrong but definitely I was crazy. I no mean to say go away. Baby, maybe you were wrong but I must have been out of my mind to tell you to go away. Oh Kore, no leave me, ’cause I no wan make you go.”

“If you no want make I go, tell me why you treat me so.”

“You don’t you know that I miss you so.”

“Why you con dey form? You too dey form.”

“Just take me back. My shakara is over.”

“Ṣẹ mi n bẹ ọ, l’ ogun ife baby. They told me say you will call me back. Why did you mess with my heart before, baby?

Ifẹ mi fi mi lokan balẹ. Má máà jẹ’n lo commit. S’ofe ko fi’mi se yeye ni*?”

“Ọmọdé lo’n se mi. Jọ̀wọ́ baby mí*.”

“I no fit to vex, my darling because I love you, my lady.”

“Would you take me back? Na me mess up, I no know we-tin I dey do. Dárí jì mi baby. Kọkàn mi lebalẹ*.”

“Just do my heart soffery soffery. I swear, say I no go let you down and I go hold you down baby so better stay with me. Wherever you go take me.”

“Thank you my love.” Ayo said and k!$$£d him. He k!$$£d her back and tried to step back but she took over him and pushed him on the be-d then she jumped on him,

“Babe, this is not the time. You know the way Itunu is…”

“Just once.” She said and took his d!¢k out of his short and took all of him in her mouth,

“fv¢k…” He said and she continued to svçkhim, l!çk!ng him with a growing rhythm just as he egged her on until he exploded and she swallowed it all and locked him clean. He dragged her up to k!ssher mouth, possessively, greedily at first then slower and more s-en-sual as the seconds pas-sed. He peppered her face with k!sses, li-cked her ears while his hand found her br£@st in the thin silk she wore and pla-yed with her n!ppl!. Then he pushed the thin stra-ps off her shoulders and he lowered his mouth on her br£@st as he su-cked and li-cked her brea-st, grazing it slightly as he did.

Then he k!$$£d her as he moved down to her love nest, his hands replacing his mouth on her brea-st. He repeated same process to her and then when she could not take it anymore, she switched positions and rode him with f!ngersintertwined till they both broke out of the peak.

b©dy to b©dy, with racing hearts that gradually slowed, they both sli-pped into a restful sleep.

The next morning, Ayo woke up with a start and an headache. She looked to her left where the wall clock was and it re-ad, past 11. What! She was dressed in her pajamas but last night… What about Itunu? Her mind raced as her head reminded her but as she jumped up, the ringing in her head made her slow down and her eyes caught the glas-s of water on her table with a note beside it,
“Hey Mom, try to take this headache reliever once you wake up. Dad said you were not feeling so good. 😊”
She smiled then she remembered last night. Kore actually thought she was really drun!kbut she wasn’t. The red label bottle was alre-ady past half when she carried it from the kitchen fridge. She was just emotional and now she knew he wanted her and he knew she wanted him but where does that still leaves them? She thought. Then she took the medicine and downed it with water before lying back down to reflect for a moment.
After a short while, she stood up, made the be-d, the room was arranged and it was definitely Kore’s handiwork, her mind told her so. She undressed and went to the bathroom, turned on the shower and took her time un-der the water.
Some minutes later, she went downstairs and met the boys watching a movie on Netflix. She placed her hands at the edge of the sofa as she called,
“Hey guys.”
“Good morning Mum.” Itunu greeted, prostrating quic-kly before giving the movie his attention.
Kore said, “Hey baby. How do you feel?”
She replied, “Fine but hungry.”
He said, “Come closer first.”
She asked, moving her head to the side, “Why?”
“Just come.” He said so she went closer to him and he pu-ll-ed her into his l@p and k!$$£d her. To which she fought against at first before relaxing,
“Are you guys trying to corrupt me or something?”
“Who are guys? Itunu, it is me that is guys àbí? You cannot close your eyes?”
“A.Y, leave this boy nao. Oya, let’s go and serve your food.”
“My food? Did you people cook?”
“Yes, we went out to the market to get yam and we made yam porridge.”
“Oh!”
“Yeah.” Kore said and they went to the kitchen. She served the food and microwaved it then waited till it was re-ady.
“I can’t believe I have to go back to work on Monday.”
“Resign.”
“What?!”
“Resign and come work for me.”
“No!”
“I will pay you double.”
“I don’t want your money.”
“Do you know what your problem is?”
“I don’t have a problem.”
“You do and it is that you are stubborn. Just ru-bbishly stubborn.”
“You are really helping your case.”
“I know I am not but I will tell you the truth. You do well when people listen to you. When you can voice your thoughts to them and advice and all. Did you know our ratings dropped when you left. The three shows you took almost coll@psed, thank God for damage control.”
“Don’t pl@ythat guilt card on me.”
“I’m not!” He said as the microwave dinged and she took out the food and sat by the kitchen table to eat. He went to the fridge and got her a bottle of water then he said,

“Come and work for me. Five shows with two emergency calls during the week and I will pay you double of what you are getting now.”
“I don’t want you treating me like I am special or something. I am sure others don’t get up to that amount.”
“You are my woman and it’s just right for me to spoil you because I can. Left to me, you are just going to sit at home all day and watch TV.”
“Don’t even think about curbing me.”
“I’m not, I want you to express yourself and get people to know you. I don’t want you to be a Wife Of. I want you to be your own person with your own name and your own title. You are gifted and I love you for that.”
“Hmmm. You just make it so ha-rd to say no.”
“How can you say no to me? That’s impossible nao. Me that I know all your pas-sword and mumu bu-tton.”
“Yen yen yen yen. Let’s talk about this well. First of all, I don’t want a double money, pay me the right rates. I will consult with Lara and get back to you about the salary and don’t think of going to plan a coup with her. Also, I am thinking of doing my Masters so I think this work is flexible enough for me to start the process.”
“Good. That’s very good. I…” He was saying when his phone rang.
“One minute.” He said and she nodded. He answered the call.
“Hello Rose… Yes, is Deeman not in the office?… Ehn, tell him to bring you.. Yes, also bring that Okadia Proposal along…Okay, bye.”
“Work.”
“I thought as much.”
“So, we have a deal. Yeah?”
“Hmm, yeah, I will s£nd my letter of resignation in this coming week and then by next week, I will be re-ady for the radio.”
“Cool.”

About three hours after Ayo c@m£ downstairs, Itunu was asleep and she was lying down on the sofa, her legs on Kore’s l@p while she surfed the Gram. He was also busy on his l@pt©p. Then his phone rang,
“Hello Deeman… Okay, I will meet you guys outside now.”
“Babe, I nee-d to attend to this girl outside. I will be back.”
“Okay.” She said and watched him go outside. He went out to meet Deeman and Rose got down from the car. Out of curiosity, Ayo went to the window to check to see how the secretary looked like. Kore said,
“Rose, how are you?”
Rose stepped forward and hvgged him,
“I missed you. So, this is where you have been camping àbí?”
“Where are the files you brou-ght, madam?”
“They are in the car. Let me get them.” She moved back stealthily in her heels and bent down, her dress ri-ding up, her th!ghs and backside directly at Kore. He looked to Deeman for help but he just covered his face, giggling. He moved and went to stay by the bonnet. Some seconds later, she c@m£ to him and handed him two paper files and stayed by his side almost clinging to him. He opened the file to go throu-gh the do¢v-ment. He had not finished re-ading the second page when he noticed Ayo was standing in front of him.
“Babe.”
“Tá là’wọn*?”
“Babe, meet my secretary, Rose. Rose, this is the mother of my child, Ayo.”
Rose looked her up and down and eyed her before murmuring, “Nice to meet you.”
Ayo reacted, “Nice kill you there. You are mad àbí? You c@m£ into my compound to come and insult me and you are throwing yourself at my man. Something is wrong with your br@in, idiot.”
Kore asked, “Ayo! What’s this nao? What did she do to you?”
Ayo called, “Razaq! Razaq!”
Razaq, the gate keeper, c@m£ closer, “Òòò Olúwami ò*.”
Ayo asked, “Ṣé ìṣe yín sí jẹ yín lógún*?”
Razaq answered, “Yes má.”
Ayo said, “Bundle this riff raff out of this compound. I don’t want to see her.”
Kore exclaimed, “Ayo! Razaq!”
Razaq said, taking rose by her arm, “Oya Sisi, plea-se comot before I bundle you from ibi báyìí*.”
Rose asked, “Are you mad? Why are you tou-ching me?”
Ayo said, “Get out jọ.”
Rose said struggling with Razaq, “Let me take my bag at least. God, what kind of ru-bbish is this?”
Ayo went with Razaq to esc-rt Rose out of the compound while Kore shook his head and turned to Deeman who could ba-rely contain his laughter, Rose has finally seen someone who could handle her,
“Guy, you are free for today. Thank you.” He said and went inside to wait for Ayo to scold her definitely and he didn’t waste time as soon as she entered, he attacked her.
“What’s the meaning of that stunt you just pu-ll-ed out there?”
“She was flinging herself all over you!”
“I could handle the situation just fine.”
“Oh really! And you call that your secretary? How do you want me to trust what you guys do behind closed doors?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Obviously, she wants you to sleep with her and a desperate woman will go to any length and to think that idiot used that her tattered made up eyes to belittle me!”
“You had no right to esc-rt her out of the compound. You said yourself she is desperate. She could go to a news house. Who knows what she will tell them?”
“I don’t care. I am not going to stand by and be disrespected especially in my house.”
“You are just so damn stubborn!”
“Think whatever you like.”
“I’m out.”
“You are not going anywhere.”
“A.Y, what’s wrong with you na?”
“You caused it.” She retorted and he went to sit back down while she still maintained her position at the door.
“Look, I’m sorry but you caused it. Put yourself in my shoe.”
“I can’t wear your shoe.”
“Kore, I’m not joking.” She said and went to meet him. Then she sat on his l@p.
“Sorry.”
“It’s so obvious you are not sorry.”
“Hmm.”
“Hmm.”
